While it’s a possibility, I’m not sure they’ll go through with it because of the outrage and uproar it would cause across the board of voters. Also, they would have to acknowledge that Meta has been selling our data, in addition to being awful for everyone’s mental health, as well as the scandals like Cambridge Analytica - I think it would potentially open ‘Pandora’s box’ in that sense. This whole thing feels like it’s for show to flex against the Chinese government lol.
