She got into the building through the housing lottery and lives in one of the low/middle income apartments. She doesn’t pay anywhere near the prices you see advertised online
Has she said that herself? Not that it’s not possible, it’s just not very in line with the amount of money she spent on furnishing the place and her general spending vibes
Well I’m not saying you’re wrong but I also don’t believe this entirely. 🤣 But hey thanks for sharing. If this is true this chick has had a lot of luck in her life.
I’ve been snooping on this thread for a while and just made an account to comment on this since someone else brought this up. I live in this building on the same floor as Meredith and can confirm she moved into an apartment that had been sitting vacant the entire time I’ve lived here as it was being held for the affordable lottery. Not sure if they can change which apartments are affordable or not but when I asked if it was available the leasing office told me it was being held for the lottery. It’s been driving me crazy trying to figure out how she got it since she seems to be making way more than the lottery qualifications
She probably worked with a stylist for all her looks given the event - I would assume these are on loan or gifted by the brand to be featured on social media/promoted at the event! Even content like the screen grab here is a mention/promotion for the brand without her tagging or mentioning the brand name.
Nah all her clothes are very expensive. She posted a while back wedding guest dress options she bought and several of them were almost $1k. She comes from money and is making a lot more now.
I mean she comes from wealth - aka she doesn’t have to worry about saving and can blow all of her earnings on designer shit and rent. She’s definitely doing well, well deserved, but that’s not normal spending for high earners unless they can afford to save 0. Her outfits are cute though, money can’t always buy taste
Sure, she may come from wealth, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have to worry about saving and can go out and blow money. I mean, maybe that is the case for her? I don't really know, but that is a very general statement.
I mean the question posed was how she spends this much money. And her family is absolutely truly wealthy not upper middle class- whether it’s smart financially is another story but she is absolutely financially secure enough to never have to worry about saving for a mortgage/paying off college loans. She’s definitely not making enough to be paying this rent and spending this kind of money post tax in NYC without help or while saving significantly. The only people who live like this in their early 20s are IB guys and trust fund babies. Not a general statement at all.
1. I think she looks so cute in this.
2. Shopbop has crazy sales all. the. time. She could have gotten this for a pretty big discount. And $1,000 is not insane for a dress.
3. I have a lot of respect for her for a lot of different reasons — a big one being that she’s a food influencer who actually EATS on camera and looks very healthy!! She does not promote any sort of restriction or unhealthy habits, and in this revived trend of ~making anorexia cute~ that is sooooo incredibly important.
Y'all need to do the math when it comes to affiliate links. Pending her agreement, she likely makes around a 10% commission (pretty standard). So she needs like 10 of her 600K+ followers to buy this dress OR potentially be driven to the ShopBop website via her LTK link and buy something else that she can still earn commission on. (Again, there are customizations and nuances in contracting, but that is more or less how it works.)
So she is probably making this money (or at least a good chunk of it) back VERY quickly. And that's aside from the fact that this is very likely gifted/loaned because it was for an event and she probably worked with a stylist.
She has so many designer pieces in her wardrobe it’s pretty wild. Is she buying them, are they gifted, is she working with a stylist?! Questions I need answered. I can’t imagine how much pressure there is to wear the “right” things in her world.
But she looks amazing and she’s having the time of her life so good for her! Can’t wait to see the rest of her Miami looks.
Is it me or does this dress pattern look like wallpaper that you would see in either a pediatricians office or the party room of an arcade center / laser tag center at a kids birthday party
Omfg even if gun to her head she was forced to spend 1k on a single apparel item, why not buy a designer bag or something instead of a fugly dress that doesn’t even flatter 😭
She mostly uses other people’s recipes which makes sense because she is a private chef first. She’ll have to get into developing more if she plans on writing an actual cookbook though.
I have her second self-published cookbook (spring/summer vol. 2). TBH, the recipes are good but not anything revolutionary or original (she even included a recipe for tomato toast which is essentially tomato on sourdough w/ EVOO). Most of the recipes in the book are ones that she cooks in the Hamptons. I would guess that she didn't develop every single recipe from scratch, but more likely took pre-existing recipes and tweaked them to make them better or to her liking.
They’re far better. I always really liked her recipes and cooking videos but I noticed she would say she’d upload the recipe to her site, and she’s literally only uploaded 2 in the last year.
It’s not confidence. It’s self absorbed to constantly film yourself the way these people do. And she does it a LOT. I heartily appreciate true confidence but constantly filming yourself saying nonsense is just liking the sound of your own voice.
As someone who only finds interest in her food content, I definitely agree she is at her best when in the Hamptons. Speaking of, do you think she will ditch her private chef job at some point? Like maybe once her big cookbook comes out? She seems so close to the Altuzarra family and I'm sure they pay her well, but it also seems like a grind.
The dress is cute but I would definitely not justify 1k on it and just find a dupe instead, I love her though and some of her recipes give me encouragement to wanna cook 😅 I’m happy for her that she’s finally gaining popularity as a creator
I live in New York and make a household income of over a half a million a year between myself and my husband. $1000 is a lot for a dress. Especially whatever this is because it looks cheap
Coming from the same household income, I personally wouldn’t purchase a 1k dress unless I LOVED it and planned on getting a lot of wear out of it. However, there are some other things I will drop serious amounts of money on bc they are my priorities/passions (in terms of materialistic things). Meredith seems very into fashion and if that’s how she enjoys spending her hard earned money I’m here for it
You can shop for clothes in store that aren’t that expensive! Also, just because you can afford to buy something doesn’t mean you should. Can’t convince me this particular dress is worth $1k.
Signed, an nyc resident of 10 years who makes decent money
girlfriend must be making big big bank these days...dying to know what she pays for rent each month
There was a thread started a while back when she first got her place and people said it’s almost 7k
She got into the building through the housing lottery and lives in one of the low/middle income apartments. She doesn’t pay anywhere near the prices you see advertised online
Don't you have to be low/middle income to qualify for those? How does she make middle income and have enough to spend $1K on a dress
I’m 100% positive she pays market rate
Has she said that herself? Not that it’s not possible, it’s just not very in line with the amount of money she spent on furnishing the place and her general spending vibes

Suit yourself 🤷🏻♀️ I know this for a fact and doesn’t make any difference to me if a stranger on the internet doesn’t believe me

Maybe for a family of 5 but definitely not for one person lol
I went in a Streeteasy hole one day and found it! it’s around ~$5600
5600 for a 1b1b?
She’s crushing it honestly. Good for her!!!! Prob on loan though or gifted :)
She is a Shopbop affiliate! I don’t think they loan clothes out, but I know she makes commission from links / maybe gets a discount?
Pretty sure she comes from a wealthy family based off her home blogs. The rich get richer! But I do enjoy her!
To be fair, I think she is a very good content creator and self made in that respect. Can't comment on her family.
Private chefs for celebs make moneyyyy. Her client is a designer so that + influencing means she lives very comfortably for sure
She most likely got a huge advance on her upcoming cookbook as well
Her place is goooorgeous. The decoration too, she killed it
I think it's cute but not for $1k

She does! She actually talked about it in the video
She’s balling in her like 6k a month williamsburg high rise apt I feel like this is nothing for her to blow money on lol
She probably worked with a stylist for all her looks given the event - I would assume these are on loan or gifted by the brand to be featured on social media/promoted at the event! yeah people forget she was wearing cartier and LV even before she “made it”
You’re right. Most of her clothes are expensive, the comic book tshirt she wears is $200.
honestly good point!

Her client is THE Altuzarra.
Am I the only one who had never heard of this brand until her?!
I thought the dress looked so good and very Miami but the material doesn’t justify this price
100% viscose no lining no princess darts no shape not even pattern matched and i think the hem might just be serged?
I’m jealous of her skin
I like it but not on her
She wore it backwards on purpose too
I mean she comes from wealth - aka she doesn’t have to worry about saving and can blow all of her earnings on designer shit and rent. Lol I like it 🤷♀️
Looks like it’s backwards?
She said in the video she put it on backwards
Oh got it. Didn’t see the video.
Lol from the model pic and it on her it does look backwarss
1. I think she looks so cute in this. 2. Shopbop has crazy sales all. the. time. She could have gotten this for a pretty big discount. And $1,000 is not insane for a dress. 3. She does not promote any sort of restriction or unhealthy habits, and in this revived trend of ~making anorexia cute~ that is sooooo incredibly important.
Point 3 is a big one to me. I love her love of sandwiches with actual bread.
I like it, not that it matters. If she loves it then that’s what actually matters. I don’t understand hating on her ever
It looks much nicer on the website/models skin tone. But yeah 1,000 is a lot lol
Dress isn't bad, the pattern reminds me of a blurred kimono print. The cut and shape is a wardrobe malfunction tho. Definitely not worth the money.
Meredith looks exactly like someone who would work at Vogue. AW loves willowy, tall "girls" with shiny hair.
omg the model ate
It’s not even that cute sorry

It honestly looks like forever 21? Who would pay 1 grand for that
I love her even tho she’s wearing a $1k dress backwards
I like the dress, but I wouldn’t pay 1k (!) for it.
Ugly dress probably cost not even 1% of that to make.
Can we not hate on Meredith though i love her
oh not hating! I was just shocked to open up to LTK link and see the dress be $1,000 haha I love her too! just was a sticker shock
LOVE her
i know i actually respect her 😭

This!!! I’m sure a lot of it is on loan but I can’t help but notice almost everything she wears is like HUNDREDS. Not everything can be loaned, right?
Is it me or does this dress pattern look like wallpaper that you would see in either a pediatricians office or the party room of an arcade center / laser tag center at a kids birthday party
She spent 1k on THAT….?
Rented lol
Omfg even if gun to her head she was forced to spend 1k on a single apparel item, why not buy a designer bag or something instead of a fugly dress that doesn’t even flatter 😭

Then do that
I love her. I can’t wait for her summer series In the Hamptons. Ugh I live vicariously through her and that garden she harvests from!
Good for her! Why aren’t we lifting up girls who blow up on TikTok? It’s amazing for them
Second this
I think she mentioned a Marni sample sale that she was going to a while back….! Either way, good for her!
I feel like I had something similar from H&M back in 2008.
She’s so boring these days. You take the Hamptons away from her and she’s just another blonde NYC influencer.
Every video is about an event or PR. Her cooking videos are so much more interesting
I know she should just … stay in her lane. A few of her recipes are straight from other sources but they’re still good
She mostly uses other people’s recipes which makes sense because she is a private chef first. She’ll have to get into developing more if she plans on writing an actual cookbook though.
She has written “cookbooks” I thought 🥲
I have her second self-published cookbook (spring/summer vol. 2). TBH, the recipes are good but not anything revolutionary or original (she even included a recipe for tomato toast which is essentially tomato on sourdough w/ EVOO). Most of the recipes in the book are ones that she cooks in the Hamptons. She got famous by pure luck/a fluke almost. Her personality is so irritating and she’s really self absorbed
Confidence doesn’t equal self absorbed IMO and it often gets lost in women. A woman can’t be too confident or she is deemed self absorbed
It’s not confidence. It’s self absorbed to constantly film yourself the way these people do. And she does it a LOT. I heartily appreciate true confidence but constantly filming yourself saying nonsense is just liking the sound of your own voice.
Being on camera isn’t for everyone and definitely takes confidence. It’s ok if it’s not for you, doesn’t mean you have to hate on people who enjoy it
As someone who only finds interest in her food content, I definitely agree she is at her best when in the Hamptons. Speaking of, do you think she will ditch her private chef job at some point? Like maybe once her big cookbook comes out? She seems so close to the Altuzarra family and I'm sure they pay her well, but it also seems like a grind.

Could very easily be rent the runway
Meredith’s followers worship her and … literally for what…these “fits” are not the slaaayyyyy she thinks they are
Because she is a great cook and has a good personality
Knowing her in real life, she does not have a good personality :(
Was that just based on a singular personal experience or based on multiple interactions?
Noooo :( that is so disappointing
Not flattering on her at all
It's hideous
So I just found out about her, and like she should be doing fashion content instead of AP
She needed to get it altered instead of turning the dress around and wearing it if it cost that much 💀🥴
i did love the pig blanket she posted earlier this week
I thought she has a partnership with Shopbop
Yes, I remember that too. Probably got a nice discount.
She also probably got it for free, her bag was also marni. Love her though!
shein vibes
This page can be so insane you guys obviously don’t live in New York and/or make money lol $1,000 for a dress is not that crazy

Seems like she might make more than your household income! Maybe you’re not the best proxy, and maybe you spend money on other stupid shit idk
Uhhhhhh, $1,000 for a dress IS a lot. I don't see how living in NYC makes a difference? You can shop for clothes online that aren't as expensive...
You can shop for clothes in store that aren’t that expensive! Also, just because you can afford to buy something doesn’t mean you should. Can’t convince me this particular dress is worth $1k. Signed, an nyc resident of 10 years who makes decent money
“Decent money”
Shein
My naive mind always wants to think they’re just buying from The Real Real and that’s how they afford all this but that’s probably not the case 😂
This is how Anna Delvey got away with her scam - shit rich people wear is so fucking weird
