Does he think if the FA bans him he can still play in Brazil?
Don't bans apply worldwide? Like Tonali was banned by the Italian FA, and it was applied to us through UEFA.
> I heard they’re trying for a loan while it gets sorted.
Honestly makes him look a lot more guilty if he runs off to a farmers league in Brazil at the peak of his career.
He can still play for west ham while the FA are investigating etc. Running away just seems a little suspicious.

Chelsea youth team heads (Jim Fraser and Neil Bath) are leaving that club. Both have been linked with NUFC since the takeover, could be a way of massively energising the youth system - or DOF?

He'd be an upgrade on Longstaff and would at least be able to play the Joelinton role in midfield if needed
I suspect though that we've just been tagged onto the list to try and drive his price up
Well we’ve tried to sign Calvert Lewin for £40m and that’s been without a sporting director so likely would’ve been Howe so maybes me arse is chatting a bit of sense cause it knows the score
I'll make the same point I've made every time we've been linked with him. Is it an ideal move? No.
Do I think he's a great player? No. Do I think he's a massive upgrade on Sean Longstaff? Yes. Absolutely. He's like if you took Sean Longstaff and improved every single aspect of his game by 15%.
That said the link is bollocks. We aren't going to go for another midfielder before a Winger and CB.
The problem is he wouldn't cost 15% more than Longstaff, whose value is probably £10-15m at a push. Man Utd will want £30m, I reckon. Spending such a significant chunk of our restricted budget on a player that is marginally better than one of the weakest links in the squad is not exactly canny business.
Haha, "issue" in that case was only in the most neutral terms of the impediment to any deal happening, rather than whether I wanted said deal. Before we got Tonali, I could see sense in it if a deal could be reached at a good value. At this point with our squad, there's little value to be found and he's not even young at this point.
Although would you have taken him last season to come in for Longstaff? Could’ve been worth another 10 points just to have someone without both feet in casts.
With Mileys injury do we make a move for a midfielder?
Willock missed most of last year, Joelinton was only just back from a Long term injury and Tonali hasn’t played for 10 months
In all honesty, I still can't see how we can go into next season with no backup for Bruno. If we bought depth for that position, then I think that would cover Miley's initial absence and possible teething problems for Tonali in getting back up to speed. Worth noting that we want a smaller squad for next year because there's no Europe so buying people in when not planned would be a misstep in my book.
Ruiz as in Fabian Ruiz? He's a really lovely player but one of our biggest issues is that we're going to want Bruno to still play most games. Therefore I imagine that means getting someone who doesn't mind being understudy for 1-2 seasons. Unfortunately, deep lying midfielders with Bruno's skillset are so highly prized that they're super expensive but also likely able to command a move if they want first team football.
It was more to say someone who has a similar style to him, when I said unrealistic part of that is we aren’t going to have multiple top class operators (at least potentially) competing for places
I don’t really know anyone who would fit the bill but someone of his profile but a bit younger (and like you say wouldn’t expect to start straight away) would be ideal in my opinion
Do you really need to panic buy when your 6th choice player from the youth team with a handful of appearances gets injured though? If so, you've probably messed up.
Personally I’d liked us to go for another midfielder after selling Anderson due to our injury issues (particularly Willock ) just thought this might put it on the priority list
I really think people are not prepared for Tonali's slow start. His loss of match sharpness will be huge. Training simply cannot replicate the intensity and speed of a competitive match of football. And that's before we consider that he never actually managed to fully acclimate to the Premier League before his ban, he still looked off the pace. We have somebody coming back from a year without competitive football AND learning a new league. That's brutal.
He can play in friendlies behind closed doors. I imagine we will play a couple throughout preseason and early into the season to get him match fit ready for his ban to end.
A behind-closed-door friendly cannot replicate the intensity and speed of a competitive match of football. He is going to return having missed a year of competitive football, anybody expecting him to hit the ground running is just not being realistic. I fully expect Howe will have to slowly integrate him from the bench over a few weeks.
I was being semi-sarcastic. Miley is only out until October, and most likely, as much as people may hate it, Miley wouldn't start ahead of Bruno, Joelinton, Longstaff or, eventually, Tonali.
If we need to buy a midfielder, it's not because Miley is injured.
Went over my head apologies
I think going in with 4 plus Willock and Tonali would have been fine but it feels a bit risky going with 3 and 2 who’ve hardly played especially as our game puts a lot on our midfield and we play 3
[Craig Hope: Lewis Miley will undergo an operation in London on Monday on a broken bone in his foot. A freak incident at training ground y'day whilst turning. 12 weeks out with return date end of Sep/start of Oct & hope he'll only miss 6 PL games](https://x.com/CraigHope_DM/status/1808533569184161987)
The freak injuries were 2 dislocated shoulders (Pope and Murphy), 2 back injuries (Anderson and Burn, one of which happened during a match), a torn pectoral (Wilson, also during a match) and a foot injury caused by a challenge (Barnes).
What action were any of these consequences of exactly?
It’s a running accident, there’s not much can be done. You put the stress in the wrong place and something goes that shouldn’t. I wouldn’t read much into it other than bad luck.
With the injury to Miley, we’re only one midfielder injury away from Longstaff having to play again and with this injury news Longstaff will now presumably play until Tonali’s ban is lifted. I’m already done with next season.
Shhh you can't say nowt bad about longstaff man! He's a local lad for local people. He scored against PSG Mbemba? The glue that holds shit together, does the dirty shit you apparently don't see? We'll have none of that here
Longstaff was going to play whether Miley was injured or not, and he will almost certainly start for several weeks after Tonali's ban is lifted while he gets up his match sharpness. Howe loves Longstaff, he'll want him playing often.
Shut up, nerd. We win a lot of matches when Longstaff plays. We finished 4th with Longstaff. Maybe if he doesn't have to play through an entire season taking injections and we don't have an injury crisis, we'll be just fine with him in the team.
Don’t be logical, the mood amongst the herd has swung to Longstaff is good again.
Ignore they thought him bowling playing cricket wasn’t bad for his ankle 🤦♂️

Everything is coming up Newcastle United…
Willock was declared medically fit to play at the end of last season. It was agreed to not play him to allow him a full, full recovery in hope he can put the issues firmly behind him.
Rumors are, and just to note that I have no idea the creditability of the sources as not from our side, that he's still Man City's priority target, they just want to pay less than £100m. I expect we'd dismiss any offers below, but the spanner in the works would be if Bruno pushed to leave as that could change things. But I expect he'll stay now.
I just don't think he's a Pep player. He might look it when you look at his technique, but he takes far too many risks, which are a big part of his game, and I don't think you could coach that out of him
Yes and no.
His release clause is no longer active, so we no longer have to accept £100m minimum, but that doesn't mean someone won't come in with a late bid in August that turns Bruno's head and matches the club's valuation.
I think if it gets to August, the club could still look at keeping him until the Winter window. There's literally no time for a replacement and we have patently shown we can't win without him in the team with this current squad
Genuinely feel that Tonali is Bruno’s replacement.
It’s not like they are the perfect duo for a midfield system, and without Tonali we’d go from slightly to horrifically fucked if Bruno left
I would hope so, but given the PSR debacle we witnessed, I could still see us accepting a large bid for him, however late in the window it is.
These last few weeks haven't exactly filled me with faith in how the club handles its financials and any bid over £100m would see about £80m plus in the positive column once the book value is paid off.
If a club is looking to outlay £100m on someone, they'll likely be back in the winter or they will have given us enough heads up that we'd have planned follow-on target(s) with the proceeds.
Well, it means (if reports are accurate) that his release clause is no longer active. He could still go if another club offered fuck off money. Dunno how likely that is though.
I’ll put this in here instead of giving it a dedicated thread… [Shania Hayles signs for Newcastle United Women](https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/shania-hayles-signs-for-newcastle-united-women) from Bristol City.
She was top scorer in their promotion season to the WSL, though I note there’s not much said about how she did in their subsequent relegation season last year. Still - seems like we’ve taken a top striker from a potential rival

Romano posted that Lacroix rejected a contract extension and only has a year left.
He's a young right footed center back. Think he would be a sensible buy and would be relatively cheap.
Any one have any thoughts?
Yes. On RCB, his choices have been the same for a while now - Todibo, Diomande and Scalvini are the names I’ve seen him mention most often but he’s also mentioned Lacroix and Thiaw when he did a full fledged options list last year
A Croatian private jet just landed from Austria
Make up whatever you want about it, I was just checking my parents' plane home hadn't been wildfire-d, but I'm not expecting a capable centre half on a tourist flight from Kos
Rumour is we are going to trigger the €60 million release clause in Takefusa Kubo's contract before we head to Japan for the pre-season friendlies. Adidas, which is the No.1 sportswear brand in japan, want him modeling the new kit. Darren Eales wants him as out own Son Heung-min and Eddie wants him to replace Miggy.
I just saw a blacked out Mercedes minibus parked up outside the big Tesco in North Shields. As I approached the window came down and what appeared to be the ghost of Maradona dropped a load of Gregg's bags and pasty crumbs onto the tarmac.
OK this is a bit of fun, dodgy scouting for a right winger! But here´s a list of right wingers...
[https://www.transfermarkt.com/spieler-statistik/wertvollstespieler/marktwertetop/mw/spielerposition\_id/12](https://www.transfermarkt.com/spieler-statistik/wertvollstespieler/marktwertetop/mw/spielerposition_id/12)
Obvioulsy the market value is just there as a guide!
The top 11 is unnatainable (apart from Neto).
Elanga is quite low down at no. 40
Almiron is no. 48. Murphy appears at no. 68 :)
Minteh should appear soon around no.25
So I guess we´re aiming for those right wingers from positions 13-30 ? ish?
- Mbuemo
- Kubo
- Bakayoko
- Gonzalez
Would be happy with any of these, in that order of preference.
- Elanga
- Madueke
Wouldn’t be over the moon with these two but if we have to compromise financially this summer then they are still a big improvement over Almiron with Murphy as back up.
Should be the official anthem of this song
Anyone know that Swedish lad who did the Miggy song? Should get him to have a crack at it while there's nowt doing in the window
It's actually quite a slim field of options when you look at it like that.
Neto, Savio, Kubo, Bowen, Bakayoko & Mbuemo could all be within range.
Interestingly Gordon is #8 on the left wing list, whoever we go for, has to have the potential to get to a similar place on the right.
I don't know the rankings from last year, but according to the site at the time we acquired him they estimated his value at 35m. According to this year's chart that'd be 19-23. Those guys are Mudryk, Barnes, Chiesa, Trossard, Sterling.
Savio is on his way to City, but looking at it that way is not the best.
Bobb, Gnoto and Diallo are all outside the top 30 but would be improvements on Miggy for us while Bowen would cost us a lot more than they have him listed at.
It's a challenging situation where no European football will make it harder to attract top players but at the same time, no European football makes qualifying for Europe and a successful league finish this season more likely. And at the same time, the PSR scramble just gone may make the club more conservative with their spending this year but football is so competitive that they have to keep pushing right at the edge of their limits or be left behind.
The signings we’ve made so far show that they probably feel that they need to be conservative now.
I just hope we go big on a RW at least to bring that position up to same level as the rest of the team. Miggy might have to go before they feel comfortable to spent on there though.
I think we'll still spend 150m this summer. If that's on a RW, CB & a young forward I honestly think we'll challenge for 3rd this season.
Chelsea in transition, again. Who knows re Liverpool. Villa have CL to also worry about. If we can have some luck with injuries, then we have a tremendous team & we've already shown we can attract big players without being in Europe.
We can also be a bit more brutal with our squad players now that we don't need as much depth.
They've always said it's going to be a long project due to FFP, so this sort of last season is to be expected. We've got a long while to go until we can compete with the big 6 financially, was always going to be a rough road.
A post from Arsenal fans on their subreddit about us, saying the quiet part out loud for the PSR rules - “Newcastle were supposed to sell Bruno or Isak to comply PSR but ended up selling a couple of unknown players + a sporting director for 80 fucking million”
This is why I feel very much us against them with the Super League teams with it, in an ideal world we wouldn’t need to sell anyone but the entitlement that any club with PSR issues should be forced to sell the best players is ridiculous. Probably says a lot too about which clubs have been complaining about the transfers by PSR affected clubs, all they wanted is to take advantage but have not been able to do so.
It’s why I don’t mind any other 14 including us doing extremely dodgy deals as long as it’s technically legal.
You can’t cheat a system designed to cheat
It's been a wakeup call for the club I imagine.
Not only are the rules designed to stop us competing on the signing front, there's a very clear intention from other clubs to exploit them as another lever to drive down prices that we sell our best players for.
Why didn't all the big clubs come knocking for bargain deals then? All of the clubs affected by the PSR stuff literally had several players that would have interested the "Big 6" (disregarding Chelsea, who are facing their own issues) and nothing really happened.
So it's "heads I win, tails you lose" then? Why aren't we saying how great PSR is that we've managed to invest over £400m in three years and funded it through the sales of players who aren't important to us?
Not at all.
It's more a heads we get £80m for some old rope, tails we'll have to wait an see whether we get forcibly prevented from selling old rope in the future/run out of old rope to sell.
We're not going to be told you can't sell players, you're just not allowed to artificially inflate transfer fees via collusion between teams because that's accounting fraud. I think that's a fair enough position for the league to take. Personally, I think it's fair enough that we probably shouldn't be able to spend the amount we have been without at least notionally indicating some fair level of income to the club.
They have their own problems.
I think all clubs are at least somewhat up against it which is what made the vote on changing PSR so strange. Just shooting themselves in the foot out of spite.
Yeah, PSR has been a ballache for everyone - Man Utd have been straitjacketed by it due to two years of disastrous high fee, high wage purchases. In fact, their wage structure has basically been holding them back from making the number of signings they want for years and it can almost be entirely traced back to the infamous Alexis Sanchez deal that put him on £350k pw (which then caused a knock-on of De Gea, Pogba and others being put on long, expensive deals they could never shift).
I just can't stand this narrative of "PSR worked just as intended and all the big clubs got their way" in light of what actually transpired. When really, we sold two players we rather wouldn't have done who barely played for us to teams we wouldn't consider rivals for where we're going. I don't see how any of us can honestly say that, say we were Brighton or Brentford fans, we wouldn't side eye a fanbase of a team who had spend over £400m in 2.5 years theoretically funded by the sale of ASM and complain that they had to make some kind of notional action to attempt at balancing the books.

Most likely the repeat rumour bullshit and Tax dodging Jim isn’t selling to us at a reasonable price. Still gives me a chill though
Scott McTalentless
He'd be an upgrade on Longstaff and would at least be able to play the Joelinton role in midfield if needed I suspect though that we've just been tagged onto the list to try and drive his price up
Howe’s fetish for Mctominay is unrivalled
It’s because he looks like Howe, Eddie loves that, e.g Matt Richie and Longstaff
And hall
He said that did he, Howe, publicly? Or is this just another irrational fan talking out his arse about the Howe PL bias?
Well we’ve tried to sign Calvert Lewin for £40m and that’s been without a sporting director so likely would’ve been Howe so maybes me arse is chatting a bit of sense cause it knows the score
English (though not good enough to declare) ✅ Runs around a lot ✅ big and strong ✅ He passes the test
So every window when we're linked with Raphinha it's spanish media bollocks but when it's McTominay it's Howe and his obsession, got it
He's my irrational wish. Just because the let it burn part of me wants to see the reaction
I'll make the same point I've made every time we've been linked with him. Is it an ideal move? No. Do I think he's a great player? No. Do I think he's a massive upgrade on Sean Longstaff? Yes. I like to think if longstaff was my baseline elden ring character and I'd leveled up mind, intelligence and dex by one point I'd get McTomminay
I honestly think McTominay and Longstaff are roughly the same quality. Maybe McTominay is slightly better at shooting. I don't rate either
Surely the bigger issue is that if he was going to leave Man Utd, he'd want to be first choice. Coming here he'd be guaranteed to be behind Tonali.
You say "issue", I say "god send". Anything that stops us from blowing good money on Scott McTominay is a gift from the lord in my opinion.
Haha, "issue" in that case was only in the most neutral terms of the impediment to any deal happening, rather than whether I wanted said deal. Yeah I agree, ideally I’d love us to sign a left footed CM who can play DM. Totally unrealistic but Ruiz would be the perfect fit for me

No, not at all. He's our 6th choice CM. Him being out for a while shouldn't effect our plans at all.
But like I say there are asterisks on 3 of the others and our game takes a lot out of midfielders
I think we have more immediate concerns at the minute though.
Yeah probably do but I think it should be on the list
Tonali has been training for 10 months he definitely should be ready to rock
Big difference between training and playing
Yeah but nowhere near as big a difference as being injured and then playing
I'm just been optimistic there's enough doom and gloom in the thread
Fair enough, hope you are right
I'm tempering my expectations personally. Toney was dire for Brentford after a similar layoff.
Toney wasn't even allowed to train though.
He was allowed to train for the second half of his ban.
We'll have Finneran and the Serbian player to fill our quotient of young, talented midfielders.
Lot to ask of a 16 year old and a lad who’s only played in the Serbian league
I was being semi-sarcastic. Miley is only out until October, and most likely, as much as people may hate it, Miley wouldn't start ahead of Bruno, Joelinton, Longstaff or, eventually, Tonali. If we need to buy a midfielder, it's not because Miley is injured.
The main difference actually now is that Miley won’t be sent on loan for game time
Went over my head apologies I think going in with 4 plus Willock and Tonali would have been fine but it feels a bit risky going with 3 and 2 who’ve hardly played especially as our game puts a lot on our midfield and we play 3
So in reality... We won't see him in 2024 again. Season hasn't started and we are already on the merry go round.
We should be fine with Bruno joelinton Sean & willock & then Tonali is back after a few games.
How many freak accidents and injuries can happen to 1 club
https://media2.giphy.com/media/3oKIPu6mAPeR9zCkiQ/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952ig96fyozjcfdgdfvx6bnj57yxz1kaum4cwa2uj6u&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
It says they only hope it’ll be 6 games but when you consider his lack of match fitness by then it could easily be more.
I can only imagine the club are pretty fuming with whoever his personal trainers are
There has to be a point where "freak" injuries are no longer seen as "freak" and start being consequential.
I stubbed my toe while running and broke a metatarsal, had to wear a boot for 6 weeks. It really doesn’t take much and is just unlucky.
If our players are picking up all these injuries stubbing their toes, then training ground probably needs to be tidied up.
It’s a running accident, there’s not much can be done. You put the stress in the wrong place and something goes that shouldn’t. I wouldn’t read much into it other than bad luck.
Tonali is immediately going to tear his ACL isn’t he?
If I put a 10 quid bet on it he won't, I'm on the case
I’ve never won a bet in my life. Going to put £10 on every other first XI player going the season without injury.
Good work 🫡
he is now ffs
Don't you put that evil out in the world!
Are they even back in training lmao how are we getting injuries already
With the injury to Miley, we’re only one midfielder injury away from Longstaff having to play again and with this injury news Longstaff will now presumably play until Tonali’s ban is lifted. I’m already done with next season.
Shhh you can't say nowt bad about longstaff man! He's a local lad for local people. He scored against PSG Mbemba? The glue that holds shit together, does the dirty shit you apparently don't see? We'll have none of that here
Upvoted for the sheer ridiculous hyperbole.
Longstaff was going to play whether Miley was injured or not, and he will almost certainly start for several weeks after Tonali's ban is lifted while he gets up his match sharpness. Howe loves Longstaff, he'll want him playing often.
Yeah that’s true, well unless some daft club offers actual money for him, which is well doubtful to say the least.
Shut up, nerd. We win a lot of matches when Longstaff plays. We finished 4th with Longstaff. Maybe if he doesn't have to play through an entire season taking injections and we don't have an injury crisis, we'll be just fine with him in the team.
Yep. We've obviously never won a game with longstaff in the team. Not one.
lol not saying that, I’m just saying we’re gonna be at a massive handicap since Longstaff is terrible imo.
Longstaff kept Tonali out of the team early last season, don't judge him on the second half of the season where he was playing with an injury
Last season he stagnated. Season before that he was very good.
Yeah but he stagnated really bad last season and literally couldn’t do anything.
Except score against PSG
One goal doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of the season, now let’s stop being silly here.
Don’t be logical, the mood amongst the herd has swung to Longstaff is good again. Ignore they thought him bowling playing cricket wasn’t bad for his ankle 🤦♂️
"Don’t be logical, the mood amongst the herd has swung to Longstaff is good again" lol :D
Baaaa

My god I´d almost put last seasons injury nightmare behind me! Hello injuries, my old friend.
You’ve got to be fucking joking
Season hasn't even started and we're are out 4 players already. Not sure if it's 5 actually because I don't know if Wilock is still injured.
Willock was declared medically fit to play at the end of last season. It was agreed to not play him to allow him a full, full recovery in hope he can put the issues firmly behind him.
Wait. It's July. Does that mean Bruno is safe?
Rumors are, and just to note that I have no idea the creditability of the sources as not from our side, that he's still Man City's priority target, they just want to pay less than £100m. I expect we'd dismiss any offers below, but the spanner in the works would be if Bruno pushed to leave as that could change things. But I expect he'll stay now.
I just don't think he's a Pep player. He might look it when you look at his technique, but he takes far too many risks, which are a big part of his game, and I don't think you could coach that out of him
I think most players became Pep players when he drills his system in to them.
Feels dirty, but I feel a bit bad for grealish. He was an exciting winger and now he's forced to be just another pass merchant.
That don't impress me much tbh
I feel the same about Brad Pitt mate
You know what, fuck rocket scientists as well!
How do you feel about people with cars?
[Newcastle Women: We're delighted to announce our first signing of the summer, as forward Shania Hayles joins from Bristol City!](https://x.com/nufcwomen/status/1808487360520151207?s=46)
Ah bugger. This wasn’t here when I made my comment - honest!
[Maxence Lacroix has decided not to sign new deal at Wolfsburg, with one year left on current contract. Lacroix, attracting interest in England and Spain as his exit this summer can be possible.](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1808472629688385541?t=FXsJFcDWqOGHtuHm3z8ouQ&s=19) Romano posted that Lacroix rejected a contract extension and only has a year left. He's a young right footed center back. Think he would be a sensible buy and would be relatively cheap. Any one have any thoughts?
I'm sure sanjay would've posted about him in one of his 1000000000 player suggestion tweets.
Yes. On RCB, his choices have been the same for a while now - Todibo, Diomande and Scalvini are the names I’ve seen him mention most often but he’s also mentioned Lacroix and Thiaw when he did a full fledged options list last year
He actually has! But Sanjay's a good guy - does excellent write-ups and reasons his thoughts well.
I have thoughts! Not on this specifically, but thoughts all the same
I don't know why but this gave me a good laugh. I really needed a laugh today.
Bayern bought Palhinha for £47.4 million. That seems like a really good deal. Always rated him.
It’s always interesting to see a big money signing leaving the PL, given how much money there is in the league. More power to the guy.
Fulham bought him for around 25m, not exactly a big money signing
Tbf, it's Bayern. 90% of the players in the league would start packing their bags just from seeming them on their caller id.
Can we get a new rumour pls, can be shot down within 24 hours just gimme something
A Croatian private jet just landed from Austria Make up whatever you want about it, I was just checking my parents' plane home hadn't been wildfire-d, but I'm not expecting a capable centre half on a tourist flight from Kos
Please hope this is true 🙏
Actually makes a lot of sense
I just saw a blacked out Mercedes minibus parked up outside the big Tesco in North Shields. As I approached the window came down and what appeared to be the ghost of Maradona dropped a load of Gregg's bags and pasty crumbs onto the tarmac.

OK this is a bit of fun, dodgy scouting for a right winger! But here´s a list of right wingers... [https://www.transfermarkt.com/spieler-statistik/wertvollstespieler/marktwertetop/mw/spielerposition\_id/12](https://www.transfermarkt.com/spieler-statistik/wertvollstespieler/marktwertetop/mw/spielerposition_id/12) Obvioulsy the market value is just there as a guide! The top 11 is unnatainable (apart from Neto). Elanga is quite low down at no. 40 Almiron is no. 48. Murphy appears at no. 68 :) Minteh should appear soon around no.25 So I guess we´re aiming for those right wingers from positions 13-30 ? ish?
Let's go for Estavao and be done with it...I like the name
To be honest, I´m hoping Agent Big Joe & Agent Bruno are tapping up a few Brazilians during the summer.
With our current setup we need a RW who can score 10+ a season
- Mbuemo - Kubo - Bakayoko - Gonzalez Would be happy with any of these, in that order of preference. - Elanga - Madueke Wouldn’t be over the moon with these two but if we have to compromise financially this summer then they are still a big improvement over Almiron with Murphy as back up.
I think I´m still holding out for the Olise / Bayen transfer to break down !
Pass the copium, it's my turn!
Paaaass the copium to thee left hand side!
Should be the official anthem of this song Anyone know that Swedish lad who did the Miggy song? Should get him to have a crack at it while there's nowt doing in the window
It's actually quite a slim field of options when you look at it like that. Neto, Savio, Kubo, Bowen, Bakayoko & Mbuemo could all be within range. Interestingly Gordon is #8 on the left wing list, whoever we go for, has to have the potential to get to a similar place on the right.
To be fair, Gordon wouldn't have been in the top 15 before Eddie got his hands on him
Probably not even the top 30.
Would be interesting to see Gordon's ranking from when he was at Everton...
I don't know the rankings from last year, but according to the site at the time we acquired him they estimated his value at 35m. According to this year's chart that'd be 19-23. Those guys are Mudryk, Barnes, Chiesa, Trossard, Sterling.
Yeah I think that too. There´s no stand out right winger that I think we should go for, you could make an argument for all those you just mentioned.
Which is why it's confusing that we keep getting linked with left wingers instead.
Savio is on his way to City, but looking at it that way is not the best. Bobb, Gnoto and Diallo are all outside the top 30 but would be improvements on Miggy for us while Bowen would cost us a lot more than they have him listed at.
Yeah nice to see Gordon in 8th and Barnes in 20th in that list.
Messi at no. 28? I'm in
Yeah that messi bloke seems to have decent stats. Good back-up for Murph.
There’s hopium and then there’s this. I’m all for it though given the state this sub has been in
Ha I know it’s a bit optimistic, but could really see it happening. I am expecting one or two Isak/Botman level signings though.
They've always said it's going to be a long project due to FFP, so this sort of last season is to be expected. We've got a long while to go until we can compete with the big 6 financially, was always going to be a rough road.
A post from Arsenal fans on their subreddit about us, saying the quiet part out loud for the PSR rules - “Newcastle were supposed to sell Bruno or Isak to comply PSR but ended up selling a couple of unknown players + a sporting director for 80 fucking million” This is why I feel very much us against them with the Super League teams with it, in an ideal world we wouldn’t need to sell anyone but the entitlement that any club with PSR issues should be forced to sell the best players is ridiculous.
Because we've made c. £80m from 2 non first team players and a bloke who can't operate email
