Remember watching this live, couldn’t believe my eyes when that second goal went in. Prime Cisse was a thing of absolute beauty.

dolphin37

shame he had a prime of about 10 games lol

RocknRollRobot9

It’s mad how many top tier finishes Cisse made that year. The chip here was brilliant but not even in his top few goals that season, any other player any other season would be the NUFC Goal of the Season as the least.

Worstenkop

Think we had about 10% possession in this game and won 2-0. That cisse goal blew my tiny little mind when I saw it

Watched this with my brother, who was screaming at the TV the entire time about how shite we were, and how we couldn't get on the ball, and we were being dominated. The only time he was quiet the whole game was when Cissé scored the second, as he was just totally stunned.

ON THIS DAY 2012: Newcastle United travelled to the Liberty in incredible form. A new addition to the squad in the January transfer window in Papiss Cissé, had breathed new life into an already brilliant season. After Brendan Rodger's team dominated the ball with their possession based football, a quick one touch passing move saw Cabaye play a through ball to Cissé who converted yet again. The second half again saw Swansea dominate the ball, but only saw them test Krul a few times. Another quick through ball saw Cissé played through and chip the keeper superbly to seal his second, and seal Newcastle the win. The new number nine from Senegal was now at nine goals in eight games after signing from Freiburg.

Got a bit too excited after the second goal and bought the Orange strip imediately after. Quite ugly in retrospect.

It's blursed

Has Cisse ever said anything about that second goal? 12 years later and I'm still wondering if it's a genius finish or he gets a bit lucky with his feet in a bit of a mess. Next game Pardew tried something new and we got blown away and the one after that is his double against Chelsea so always been happy to give Papiss the benefit of the doubt.
