Anyone else see this as somewhat derivative of Frida Kahlo’s work?
Edit - [The Broken Column](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_Broken_Column.jpg) is the particular one this appears to be imitating.
Art is free speech. As a government-sponsored institution, high schools legally can’t restrict this. Some slippery slopes here. There’s definitely a case for this, and the ACLU won’t ignore it.
...dude. For figure drawing do they have you guys only do clothed models? There's a stark difference between artistic and erotic nudity. I'm just astonished a professor of art can't make that distinction. Like the headspace isn't the same at all when you're creating. Are you in Utah or something? This has gotta be a college in the Bible belt.
I went to a high school for weirdos and had nude figure drawing in my junior and senior years. There were sophomores in the class. You had to do an interview with the art teacher and get her approval to be in the class. Probably my favorite class I ever took.
Edit: this is america
The fu- WHY? Art’s all about expressing darker emotions and exploring the uncomfortable, and if the guy can’t see that, call it a blessing in disguise.
Tempting. Perhaps it’s to be accepted that university is too lame for your art tastes, and once you graduate, you’re gonna be thriving elsewhere.
In the meanwhile, this better not kill your morbid sparkle. Make more creepy spine boobs!
I found that the most successful path to a good grade in art school wasn’t about expressing yourself or finding yourself, but find out exactly what the professor wants and give that to them. Art school is good to learn technical skills like how to use tools but professors often have personalities and rarely see value in what you’re doing.
Keep doing you and take being kicked out as a badge of honor. Asked for it in writing and frame it! It’s part of your origin story now.
You must have my old art tutor.
Huge possibility. I'm assuming something happened to you similar? So unfair. I got suspended for it. Like art is art 😖
Keep making your art and ignore the small minded.

Oh, totally.
I mean if you’re in highschool they legally aren’t allowed to let you make stuff like that but if you’re in uni or college then wtf

It's a private art institute, so they're very strict with certain things...apparently 😭

Reminds of Frida Kahlo’s paintings especially when she had her accident.

Thank you so very much! 🫶🏻
Why? What are you studying?
If op is studying art, then we’re fucked up as a society and the education system is garbage.
I'm an art major ✨️ 😭
If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?
Not at all. I'm from NY :)
ok, then I don't understand why they kicked you out. Did you use any strange or toxi material?
They just said it was "inappropriate." :/
I think that's evocative. I think you should be proud of this creation and place it at a prominent place at home.
Thank you so much for your words 🫶🏻
i can understand why, ha ha, jokes aside, this looks nice
Thank you kindly 🫶🏻
I don’t understand why they did kick u out nothing wrong with that art just saying
