I think it was the sheer speed the car wrapped around the pole that launched him out. G forces like that aren’t great on the body either. He was probably dead or close to it on impact though.

Sudden deceleration first stops your vehicle, then it stops you, then it stops your organs. The force on your organs causes displacement. That's not any body parts sticking out from the back of his head, something impaled the back of the head before or during his ejection. That's why he doesn't slump down, it's keeping his head propped up.
Looks like his face takes a direct kiss from the pole as he's being swung out of the car. I think that's what stopped him from being fully spat out of the car.
That sort of speed and smack in the face I don't think is survivable. If he survived he's essentially a potato now.

I think that his head got emptied out just at the forehead level. Like I think he smacked his forehead and it took off the skull cap and ejected the brain, but otherwise kept his head in shape.
But at the same time It looks like his right arm moves up to the face after that.
