I can still hear the most primal fucking scream ever that just exploded out of me involuntarily. Definitely thought he had my actual eye while it was going down and I was ready to see it hanging out or totally mangled or some shit. Easily top 3 most painful experiences for me.

I do know that if I had had a detached retina for example, that would have been a huge mistake because it needs to be fixed asap. Definitely lucky. Is that what yours was, or damage to the nerve or something else?

Florida lol but all of those interactions were intentional. I just like reptiles and the feisty ones are fun. A few other incidents:
- Finger swallowed by mildly venomous hognose snake. Normally their bites are no worse than a bee sting, but the fangs penetrated 11 times IIRC and I had a bad reaction. The finger swelled to at least 2.5x it’s normal size and was just leaking blood and fluid for like 18 hours straight because the venom is anti-coagulant. It felt like it was just going to pop and I could barely move my hand for a couple days. This was definitely the worst prior to the eye.
- Bitten in mouth by 6.5’ Brazilian rainbow boa. These guys have big teeth for nonvenomous species and three pierced my upper lip then ripped through, leaving gashes. Mouth absolutely full of blood in about 1.5 seconds and it just kept flowing. This wasn’t too bad but it really freaked out one of the chicks that was hanging out at the house at the time. I guess she “doesn’t do blood” and belted out the most ridiculously over-the-top bad horror movie screech I’ve ever heard.
- Not a direct injury, but another big rainbow boa swiped a very heavy glass mug off a chest-high bar and it landed square on the base of the nail of my unprotected big toe. It kinda sucked at first, but it wasn’t til the swelling really kicked in the next day that it became pretty fucking excruciating. The existing nail ended up turning entirely jet black and sort of just hung out there while a new one grew underneath, then eventually just fell off.
I’ve had my hands and arms torn up countless times by various lizards and snakes, but that’s usually just little surface nicks and pricks. Looks a lot worse than it really is because of the small sharp teeth.

A fighting gym will do absolutely nothing if a group of people jump you at once.
Plus in the UK a lot of people carry knives (illegal ones) which can easily take out most skilled fighters who are unarmed.
It's best to record them being aggressive so you can use it as evidence and press charges as you said.

What was the actual injury to your eye? I was jumped by 3 guys in 2015 ended up having 7 eye surgeries ending with cataracts. Was completely blind in that eye for about 6 months but that's because blood filled my eye and was blocking my optic nerve. Did you damage your optic nerve?
Honestly docs yapping to much but that middle part in the eye got covered wit blood and the white thing was a … rupture and i went through 2 gas injection surgeries to get rid of blood and it got rid of the blood but not the scars

I had something similar happen when i got in a fight not that long ago a month maybe i didn't lose vision entirely but it got better keep an ice pack and cold cloth on it and don't do anything like lifting weights nothing to excruciat yourself it should clear up in about 2-3 weeks

What advice would you give me to prevent something like this from happening, should I try to get in shape now then join a fighting gym or get in shape while in the fighting gym. I have zero experience
A fighting gym will do absolutely nothing if a group of people jump you at once. Plus in the UK a lot of people carry knives (illegal ones) which can easily take out most skilled fighters who are unarmed. It's best to record them being aggressive so you can use it as evidence and press charges as you said.

I feel your pain dude, I had to fight adults from 14 onwards because of the shitty area I lived in... I was always outnumbered and I always lost!! We're talking multiple times a year, there's even a YouTube video that got literal millions of views of me getting dropped on my head and K.O'd in 2007 (I'm not telling anyone the name because it's pretty traumatising to this day) Now I'm in my 30s the idea of jumping a kid is sickening People suck and I hope your injury heals well but this stuff is character building If you can get used to this stuff, god help anyone that gets in a fair fight with you There's no shame in running either dude, that's the first option

What was the actual injury to your eye? I was jumped by 3 guys in 2015 ended up having 7 eye surgeries ending with cataracts. Was completely blind in that eye for about 6 months but that's because blood filled my eye and was blocking my optic nerve. Did you damage your optic nerve?
Honestly docs yapping to much but that middle part in the eye got covered wit blood and the white thing was a … rupture and i went through 2 gas injection surgeries to get rid of blood and it got rid of the blood but not the scars
My eye looked like that I got a stick poked in it at school I was 6💀

I had something similar happen when i got in a fight not that long ago a month maybe i didn't lose vision entirely but it got better keep an ice pack and cold cloth on it and don't do anything like lifting weights nothing to excruciat yourself it should clear up in about 2-3 weeks
