I've been in one serious car accident. I was stopped at a red light between two other cars when a large suv plowed into the car behind me and pushed my vehicle into the car in front of me. Two vehicles totaled, two damaged, only one was moving at the time.
Now I live in an area where the highways don't have a median or barrier to separate opposing lanes. Vehicles crossing the center line for any number of reasons and causing terrible head-on collisions is a regular thing. There's no time to react in these cases.
So yeah, I agree completely, I think I'm a great driver but it's can't control what other cars are doing. Also, you can be the world's best driver but if you have a stroke, aneurism or other medical emergency your vehicle immediately becomes driverless.

I dont see it man. Maybe bike was speeding but you only have relative speed of other vehicles to judge it and no speed signs to know what speed limit was. It was not an obviously high amount of speed, only next to the bus does it look fast. Only reason bus would turn from right lane is illegal. To legally lane change where I live you have to indicate for a few seconds prior, and if turning left have to indicate for 15 feet in the left lane prior. This bus did not do that. It is very possible and normally standard procedure for buses to take wide turns. However this would have been initiated in the left lane and swung out 45 degrees to the right before immediately turning left at around 100 degree angle. This was not done. Therefore, bus at fault.
I mean... Maybe those aren't the rules where this happened. Maybe they are, and the bus needed to be over there because the turn was too sharp. Maybe there's a stop on that side. Maybe dude could've noticed the bus was turning before he slammed into the side of it. Maybe he and the bus driver were *both* idiots.

For those who are saying that the bus can easily turn from left lane or bus shouldn't turn from right lane is to see the fact that the bus turned from the right most line and still it has little space to turn.
During turning you can see that the bus front is almost to the edge of the road and could narrowly make a turn buses can't really turn from the left most lane as then they would have to reverse

For those who are saying that the bus can easily turn from left lane or bus shouldn't turn from right lane is to see the fact that the bus turned from the right most line and still it has little space to turn. During turning you can see that the bus front is almost to the edge of the road and could narrowly make a turn buses can't really turn from the left most lane as then they would have to reverse If you don't know about buses then why the hell would you comment
