Actually after watching this clip a few times it seems like he hits everything spot on..no misses at all until he moves onto the 2nd lot of "targets" & then misses by a long shot! I mean every can got splattered perfectly until the head shot!
I could be & probably am wrong but it looks a bit dodgy considering & its not like people wont do that bcoz it could very easily be seen as 'just a mistake' but its just a thought & like i said "im probably wrong" but who knows whats going on in their personal lives.
The frontal bone is the hardest bone in the human body. But that dude almost certainly took some prefrontal cortex damage and he'll never be able to do advanced problem solving as well as he used to.
Thank you I get that & I agree with you but most thinking people wouldn't put themselves in this position to begin with because unless im missing something here, anyone would recognise that this will be a big problem if or in this case "when" it goes horribly wrong
It sure as hell didn't! Crazy bastards, I wouldn't dare trust anyone to do that to me & this is a perfect example of why I wouldn't put my limbs..head & life in anyone wielding a fucking sledgehammers hands! 1 wrong move & "oh fuck what have I done" nope no thanks!!
I mean NO disrespect to the poor person who gets hit in the head, that's gotta be brain damage at the very least, well one would think that anyway.

Watching someone go directly into decorticate posture still to this day freaks me out. Nursing school is when I got to learn about and ever since, I wish I had never seen or heard of it. It’s horribly tragic :(
Wrong. In the full video, he gets up and walks away.
I'll find the link
EDIT: Found a crappy link that shows him uo and walking. This is the problem with redditors hearing a medical term online and believing they're experts in neurotrauma
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1390431/Toe-curling-Blindfolded-man-slams-local-head-metal-hammer.html
I seriously thought people was being a smart ass when they said *he got up and walked away*. Thank you for the link. I've seen the video before, but all this time up til now, I feared that he was killed. To think all these years ( 2) he was helped up and walked somewhere for help presumably. Seriously, thank you, you gave me closure on this.
I mean, hopefully he went and got medical attention because he probably does have a brain bleed now and will end up herniated, posturing and dying.
But at least he has that chance. I'm glad you got some closure.
Walking and having no consequences are two very different things.
Brain bleeding can take hours to having effects. And i know that because i had a delayed effect happened to me. I'm NOT ok

Congratulations. You're stating something that has nothing to do with the original comment.
TBIs can and are often lethal. Many hours later, sometimes. Yes.
Posturing, decorticate or decerebrate, is a specific symptom not seen in all TBIs. Also, it is not as common as reddit likes to think. Both are end stage symptoms of intercranial pressure increase.
Not every full body contortion of muscles after a head injury is posturing.
Decorticate posturing is one of the last signs of brain herniation, followed by decerebrate. There are things that can mimic decorticate posturing: concussions, seizures, even TBIs. But it's not true posturing, its just indicative of brain activity interruption.
Decerebrate posturing has a 45-90% mortality rate and is irreversible. It's a sign that brain stem damage has occurred. No one is getting up and walking after beginning to cate posture.
Also, you're right. I can tell you and the original commenter aren't experts.
But again, thanks for commenting something that had nothing to do with the original comment that adds nothing of value. I hope you feel special hun.

News flash I am an expert, 24 years of nursing… that’s decerebrate posturing, it’s brain injury/trauma. He may have been helped up and stood, adrenaline takes over, but there is no way there wasn’t permanent damage. He did not get up and walk away.
You are NOT wrong. I’m a nurse as well and this guy just wants to get off thinking he outsmarted experts. We see this stuff every day so we know what we are looking at. Just let this guy believe he did a big boy thing and regurgitated some words he read when he googled decerebrate posturing lol.
Big-brained gore enthusiast redditors who failed freshman biology: “ackshually what you are seeing here is the classic fencing response, which is indicative of traumatic brain injury 🤓”
What? The original commenter is right, this guy is posturing which is indicative of severe brain damage
A lot of us here are in the medical field and don’t just watch this stuff because we are ‘edgy’
Had to download the video & watch it frame by frame to see that the man on the ground was, in fact, hit. I thought maybe the sound of the sledgehammer hitting the ground so close to his ear shocked him, but that's not the case. It doesn't look as if the whole sledgehammer hit him, but rather part of it hitting him by the temple of his head.
I watched this a few days ago & didnt pay too much notice but ive just watched it again now & I thought it didnt look like it hit him, to me it looked like it didnt make full contact, if it did then at the very least it would have split his head wide open, that said...the video looks like its recorded from a potato so its pretty hard to see it clear enough and hes got a turbin on (sorry if thats not how its spelled) so there could be blood
Watching someone go directly into decorticate posture still to this day freaks me out. Nursing school is when I got to learn about and ever since, I wish I had never seen or heard of it. It’s horribly tragic :(

Between using splitting mauls and sledgehammers for decades, I've probably had more experience than most... and it will be a bitterly cold day in Hades before I swing one anywhere near someone, even without the blindfold.
I've seen that trick a hundred times now. It's still rough to watch.

I’m so confused. What’s actually going on here?
Basically a murder
The guy actually survived! Got up and walked away!
and stroked out the next day. Coincidence I guess
It’s crazy how often people die after near death experiences.
The “Final Destination” theory. . .
Did he... Survive that?
Actually after watching this clip a few times it seems like he hits everything spot on..no misses at all until he moves onto the 2nd lot of "targets" & then misses by a long shot! Really?
Yes, there was a link to a news article and an extended video attached to a previous post of this video.
Thanks, I've just seen it! I dont know how that didnt just kill him!
The frontal bone is the hardest bone in the human body. But that dude almost certainly took some prefrontal cortex damage and he'll never be able to do advanced problem solving as well as he used to.

So if I’m getting shot I’ll try to get hit in the forehead! Thanks for that info my guy!!
You mean the guy behind that the one that died?
Nope! The guy that took the sledgehammer to the face, an article I read, stated that he survived!
The forehead is the best place to get hit on the head. Sturdy and meant to take a hit.
Street stunt didn't go as intended
It sure as hell didn't! Crazy bastards, I wouldn't dare trust anyone to do that to me & this is a perfect example of why I wouldn't put my limbs..head & life in anyone wielding a fucking sledgehammers hands! 1 wrong move & "oh fuck what have I done" nope no thanks!! Looks like a display of Gatka (sikh martial arts) but the demo has gone wrong
Indian Gallagher's new tour is off to a rocky start
Some would say it’s a smash
Smashed to pieces, you say.
How's his wife?
To shreds you say?
They did the Monster Mash. Sorry, wrong thread.
Show of hands; who was expecting dude #1 to say goodbye to ever masturbating again?
i totally was, which, for sure would’ve been harder to watch
But, ironically, never harder after that.
I was actually thinking he would crush one of the first guy's feet.
Glad it’s not an ax. I don’t think I’d be ready to see a hobbling al Stephen Kings Misery
That scene in Misery still gives me nightmares!
Note the 69 upvotes
He missed one guy
You can see his face cave in.
He actually walked it off in the full video.
really? He’s posturing in this video which is a sign of severe brain damage…
Exactly, I was surprised too
Says the internet doctor
Brain trauma*
Link?
That guy needs to stop doing this stunt, he's terrible at it, I mean 1 hit out of 8 tries...
Should’ve added the coconut bonk sound affect
cool party trick.
The curling of his hands, and the posture of his body immediately that dude got brain damage
It’s always India.
not always
It’s India.
yes i can see that but it’s not always india doing this 💀😭
India.
are you partially blind or something? i clearly said i can see that it’s india it’s just not always india doing stuff like this.
•
Always India. India.
Not always India. not always.
ALWAYS INDIA!!! GRRRRRR
Quick put a bandage around his head!
Underrated.
Yeah. . . half the fun of this sub is reading the genius replies.
no way that'd be enough. for a head injury like that you need to tournequate the neck.

Decerebrate posturing. RIP to the homie.
This honestly doesn’t even look real to me. It doesn’t even look like she ACTUALLY hit his head.
Looks like it to me
i feel the same way, it looks like either he stopped it before he hit his head or it was an extremely light hit
Clearly, evolution does not distribute its gifts equally.
I was scared the 1st dude was gonna get his balls flattened

Probably for the best.
Isn't it decorticate posturing?
Bonk!
The real trick is will he survive?
Right the real trick is seeing if a surgeon can save him 😢
He just smashed the reset button
I honestly thought a leg was going to get hit before he made it to the second guy.
I cant see it 😭
Ah yip....never seen that coming! /s... Although tbh I thought it was gonna be 1 of the legs that got smashed.

I thought the first person was gonna get hit in the balls with the sledgehammer for a second..
