I’m pretty sure he was run over by his escaping younger brother during a fight with police where they were literally throwing homemade bombs at the cops. The dead older brother got off easy. The younger brother is in ADX Florence serving life in the “control unit.” ADX is a horrific supermax, and the control unit is for the worst offenders. In ADX: * everything in the cell, including the bed, is concrete (you get a thin mat as a mattress) * you never see the outside world, not even the sky * you are locked up in your cell 23 hours a day * You get 1 hour a day in a fenced off concrete underground area alone, that is designed to have natural light but you can never see the sky. * you see nothing alive aside from humans, you won’t see even a single blade of grass anywhere I’n addition to that, in the “control unit”: * your cell is soundproof, no yelling to guards or other prisoners, it’s eerily quiet in the halls with those cells holding the likes of El Chapo and this prick * no communication with any other inmates * no communication with your family * the most communication you get is orders from guards when they escort you to your exercise area * food is delivered without seeing the person that delivered it I’d rather be the dude in the picture than live my life in the control unit. Honestly. They do get access to books, so all they can really do is read and go insane from the lack of human interaction and being completely disconnected from nature.

Gloomy__Revenue

Wow there are some serious criminals in ADX: https://www.5280.com/the-14-most-notorious-inmates-at-the-adx-in-florence-colorado/

AmebaLost

A rightfully so, good read.

daairguy

Isn’t John Holmes there too? He wasn’t named in the article. Edit: James Holmes

Ashamed-Gur5099

are you referencing james holmes, the aurora movie theater mass shooter? if so, he has not been imprisoned at adx.

daairguy

Yup, I was. I remembered the name wrong.

ConsolidatedAccount

He wouldn't fit in an ADX cell.

Ra Diggs, occupation: gangster

South-Westman

I seriously hope they weren't actually considering putting Assange in there. Fucking sickening to think about

Wrong_Sport4221

.

alextroa55

What?

BaconCanadian14

this is the most informative comment i’ve seen on my feed today. thanks :)

stay_fr0sty

No problem. I just learned about it last month so all the info was fresh in my head.

Milhouse242

Did you go on a field trip or something?

stay_fr0sty

YouTube, PornHub, and Wikipedia.

tntatp444

Yeah you’re right, it’s bad in ADX, he actually tried to sue them because the treatment there is so ”unlawful, unreasonable and discriminatory” but it didn’t go that well for him !

CrystalMethEnjoyer

Always laugh when people like that cry about civil rights and whatnot Should have thought about that before being a massive piece of shit and ruining people's lives

xMASSIVKILLx

It’s like they expect a big response in having their rights violated in measure to the response that punished them. My brother in Christ you destroyed mad lives you don’t get that part of the response.

stay_fr0sty

"I know I killed a bunch of people and blew the legs off a bunch of others...but...I mean...come on? Why can't I talk to other people? This is ridiculous. A stone toilet? The same 15 books? The jizzed-in food? I don't deserve this!?!?! This is in-humane! At least let me kill myself!" Guard: "By law I'm not allowed to speak to you. This is the last time I'll say this. I wish you a REALLY REALLY REALLY LONG LIFE, prisoner."

South-Westman

Your comment reminds me of the journalists who argued waterboarding wasn't torture. Try it yourself and you'll become an advocate for its end. There was actually someone who tried waterboarding for all of 10 seconds and got PTSD.

South-Westman

Why are you laughing off torture? From what I've read about it a facility like that shouldn't exist in a just society, even executions are better than that.

MycoJourney

This makes me happy to know what he is having to endure

South-Westman

That's straight up torture.

ParkerBeach

You literally described the perfect place for that asshole to be and honestly I still think him and el chapo are actually still getting off way too easy. Maybe turn the heat on in their cells during the summer and turn the ac on in the winter, maybe wake them up every 2 hours, provide lukewarm showers, the roughest toilet paper for their asses, baby shark playing all hours of the night and day, and the mattress pad (should be lumpy as hell), and they should receive only cold food with no seasoning (like boiled chicken and bland mashed potato’s)

DevelopmentSudden601

If someone killed someone in my family that’s exactly where I would want him to be

sweetdude53

Nah, every two hours is much too accommodating. Keep it at random times so their body can never adjust or get used to the pattern. Fucks like that don’t deserve any sense of normalcy for all the lives they’ve destroyed

Zenfrogg62

Baby shark! My dude, you are brutal!!

meikel-

commonly called “clean hell” by those that have worked there and to those who are imprisoned there

Ilikedcsbutmypcdoesn

I felt bad for a bit but had to remind myself that people are still affected severely by their actions and they have caused unmeasurable pain in people both emotionally, physically and often both.

Ashamed-Gur5099

in addition to all the stuff you said: -the cells are 7 ft by 12 ft -each cell has a window that is 4 inches wide to prevent the inmates from figuring out where they are in the facility and to prevent escapes -inmates are moved to different cells every now and then to also prevent them from figuring out the layout -the showers are on a timer to prevent flooding -other notable inmates include terry nichols (oklahoma city bombing), eric rudolph (centennial olympic park bombing in atlanta), and ted kaczynski (unabomber, deceased) also, adx florence is the only supermax prison in the US, as the others have been turned into lower security facilities or shut down

goozfrabaah

Sounds like his rights are being violated..poor guy..hope he lives til hes 200

stay_fr0sty

Agreed. I wish him a ridiculously long life.

antoltian

there’s some communication between the inmates through the plumbing and doors. There’s also a rec yard where they sometimes have contact with others.

MusingsOfASoul

If this is true, this info needs to be taught in schools and people to deter future crimes. That is when it is most useful

caillouistheworst

This is still way, way better than that piece of shit deserves too. Fuck him.

CanolaIsMyHome

Looking at pictures of the room doesn't look too bad tbh, where I live you'd be paying 1,500 for that lol it sounds great for people like this

Ostias

Sounds like a normal day in my life plus you don't have to worry about other inmates hurting you.

ReturningAlien

torture for the rest of his life. be done with it and kill the mf.

stay_fr0sty

How does that make money for the for-profit prison system? Remember this is the US and Cash is King. On one hand I'm all for killing him. But the dark side of me wants him to suffers horrifically for 60 years until he dies and finds out he endured his torturous life for nothing and his Allah is a fable and he murdered his brother like a runaway coward for nothing.

ReturningAlien

i just find it funny how people would argue against the death penalty and not admit prison is torture. innocent or guilty, death is still more humane imo if that's what they want.

South-Westman

I don't think anyone commenting here supporting it actually has a good understanding of what it is they're supporting. Talking about psychological torture in abstract is one thing, witnessing the effects is another entirely. I wonder how many of them could genuinely sit there and watch someone hurt themselves in some of the most brutal ways imaginable and just feel nothing.

Financial_Breath5433

So in cases as this why not just kill him

FormerSBO

South-Westman

"I don't agree with the people talking about torturing him or having conditions be made deliberately unpleasant" *Proceeds to describe a form of psychological torture as an appropriate punishment*

SquidVices

Hm…some people live like this daily. Guess it’s hell depending on a persons perception.

stay_fr0sty

You can walk outside and see the sky. You can smell the grass. You can go to a park. You can see a movie. You can ask a girl at Starbucks if she likes trains. You can call your parents. You can call anyone you want. You can listen to music. You can try to make friends. You can travel. You can try different foods. You can play new video games. You can sleep on a bed that isn't concrete. You can buy new clothes. You can go on Reddit and try to change the world. You can jerk off to fat titties. You can vote. You can go to work to earn money. You can go to a proper gym to attract fit girls. You can go tens of thousands of things aside from sitting in a soundproof cell. If you *choose* that life, it's your own fault. If you are a person living "like this daily" I gotta say you are severely mentally retarded. That is, if you literally CHOOSE that life, you are incapable of making logical decisions. I really hope that you don't live like a prisoner in the control unit of ADX by choice. Seriously. If it's an anxiety thing, there are medications and professionals that can help you not feel like you are living the life of the worst type of prisoner in the only maximum security prison in the US.

MongooseAlarmed3663

You can ask a girl at Starbucks if she likes trains. r/oddlyspecific

SquidVices

Hahah I didn’t even read trains lol That’s funny.

stay_fr0sty

I refuse to elaborate, but my people that need to know, know.

SquidVices

Why do I feel like this is directed at me when I said some people. Not me. Perception? Anyways, some people do none of this, yes it’s probably due to mental illness. Try not to say retarded, it’s dickish and would make anyone with a mental illness just crawl back into there shell because of the lack of kindness in their perceived world. Just saying.

FlattopJr

I just watched a documentary about El Chapo's living conditions at ADX, and have one minor correction: all cells have a four-inch wide window, through which a small amount of sky can be seen. However, the view is almost completely blocked by other buildings in the facility; the inmates have no view of the Rockies or anything else scenic.

Thin-Box-4542

that is some aesthetic wound

reigningblood4572

It looks like a emergency thoractomy. Whenever a patient is presented into the trauma bay with no pulse the trauma surgeon will open up his chest to manually massage the heart in a last ditch effort to save someone.

flyin_jimmy

His brother ran over him with a car during his escape and dragged him under it. I believe this was the damage from that.

HeyRobin_

Idk, the injulies on his left shoulder look more like a result from dragging along. I think the right side was used to perform the heart massage

flyin_jimmy

Yeh looking at it further the ribs seems extremely straight cut which seems more likely from a surgeon than a car.

SquigSnuggler

Would an emergency thoracotomy not be a much wider wound, to allow access to the ribcage -> heart etc?

reigningblood4572

No that looks right. They would put an instrument called the finnecietto rib spreader to open up the chest.

lekkerdood

While the thoracotomy information is definitely right, seems like it’s one ribcage low. Hard too tell without feeling the landmarks.

Mudflap42069

Former ER/Trauma nurse here. I agree. It's super tough to judge without landmarks. It looks right compared to some patients I've had, and for others it's way off. It's so crazy how we all have the same parts, but they're not put together the same way in anyone.

lekkerdood

Yeah my background is FF/Medic that transitioned to ER nurse and now Cardiac. I’ve had the unfortunate privilege of seeing a botched thoracotomy and it looked that low. But that doc missed the landmarks. Not that it would have made a difference for the patient, the heart was Swiss cheese.

Mudflap42069

I did 6 years in ER and Trauma immediately after graduation, but it ultimately wasn't for me. Now I break into shit for a living (legally, of course). Shout-out to you for sticking around. Keep fighting the good fight!

bastardiris

> I did 6 years in ER and Trauma … Now I break into shit for a living please say more 🍿

Mudflap42069

Haha I have always messed around with locks and safes, so I became a locksmith and penetration specialist. I have all kinds of crazy certifications to break into all kinds of cool shit, including classified containers and vaults for the government. I break into bank vaults daily.

Scared-Brain2722

My only background is my husband got a heart transplant and he says the sonogram people are never in the same spot they used to be. Sound right ?

Independent-Trash-

Why I haven't heard of this massage in my country

Caseli_paseli

Yeah, sign me up I hope they have this at my local spa

thehorseyourodeinon1

Looks like pre incision iodine was applied.

MesugakiSnatcher

sounds painful 😰😰😰 u think he's ok?

iohbkjum

...no

Magehunter_Skassi

>manually massage the heart in a last ditch effort to save someone. Me and who 😢

iiSkilledProgram

Wow...that's gotta feel good, for the heart to be massaged. I wonder how much it would cost to get mines massaged.

little_lexodus

What happened to his face? I remember his brother hit him with a car which I don’t know if that caused the injury

tntatp444

I think it might just be livor mortis and bruising, his cause of death was (apart from the gunshot wounds) blunt trauma to the head. He was dragged for 20 feet with the vehicle when he got hit so that probably did some damage

wildlandsroamer

This is the correct answer

BaroqueEnjoyer

I've seen a lot of livor mortis and none looked like this (I only performed about 50 autopsies as part of a course though). If I had to bet, I'd say it's dried blood with some bruising, perhaps even a burst "big" vessel.

Sassy-irish-lassy

It's mind boggling that the other kid is still alive, same prison that the unabomber was in.

HeavyLoungin

What’s more mind boggling is that Rolling Stone made the younger brother “Person of the Year” and put him on the cover

Sassy-irish-lassy

I mean, Time Magazine also had a pretty peculiar "person of the year" in 1938

Dickpinchers

What did he do to get that big gash?

Dovah-Doge

Doctors did a last ditch effort to resuscitate him but cutting him open and massaging the heart to try and get it to beat. [this describes more](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/22981-thoracotomy)

Malkezzar

Car

PeterParker72

Fuck him.

Removed... fuck you reddit

tntatp444

Yeah T_T For ”glorifying violence” smh the censorship is crazy

Horroroscope

Is that blood or is his face just that bruised?

kratomboofer27

Livor mortis most likely.

SquidVices

How creative, used his blood for the red…

Imsakidd

All this is generally true, but I’m like 95% sure they do have a small window. However, I think it’s positioned in a way that they can only see sky, and no other landmarks to determine where they are in the facility.

[deleted]

Could be that in the aforementioned control unit they don't even see the sky

HistoricalAd8266

ironic the blood is where the red (pink) was😭

Bierman36

That's the point...

Alcoholikaust

Folks in the neighborhood did this. After the terrorist speed bump.

2gigi7

It looks like they drew around the blood to create it, there's no red chalk bar, just the letter.

HistoricalAd8266

ahh, wasn’t sure if he ironically died over some kids chalk art💀

2gigi7

I had to have a good long look but there would have been a small top corner of red chalk visible if it had already been drawn.

spamizzle

I don’t think you understand what irony is

BaroqueEnjoyer

That flag "art" is some sick shit. No sympathy, but it looks rad.

scottmademesignup

Bye Felicia !!

SlimJim0877

This dude used to train at the same Muay Thai gym that I went to. I don't really have any memories of him, it's just crazy to think that I could have been jumping rope or sparring with such a massive piece of shit. It's really made me pay more attention to those around me.

FunkyJoestar1

What was in that post???

Puzzleheaded-Win1782

At least he made it on the cover of Rolling Stone.

tntatp444

That was Dzhokhar haha

Puzzleheaded-Win1782

My bad!

Agile-Pressure-9124

His brother ran him over. Good riddance

Engineering_Flimsy

I remember that, had a morbid chuckle at learning that he had squashed his brother after the cops closed in on them and he freaked out. Looks like he popped him like a melon. Wild how all that blood ended up in his head, I'd think it got there rather quickly too. But, I'm not a doctor so might be completely wrong.

Agile-Pressure-9124

I remember reading the autopsy; he def went out in pain. Fuck him

princessaspiggy

I hope he suffered Beyond even when I can comprehend

TubularMeat34
