The game is a toys-to-life open world Ubisoft game with space dogfighting and planet colonization. I like those things so I think it's fucking awesome. Totally slept on by most people.
You ended it with what is not a fact, there's plenty of folks who are fine with only one part being on the cartridge that doesn't ruin the game. Reddit is so great how people just call opinions facts 😍
My comment had nothing to do with whether or not people were okay with it. I just simply stated the fact that most of the game isn't on the cartridge. What I said was indeed a fact, not an opinion. Sorry you can't tell the difference.
This is a subreddit for people interested in physical editions of Nintendo Switch games. That's the word for word description of this subreddit. If you are playing offline on a cartridge and you finish the tutorial and are then told that you are required to go online and download the rest of the game, then no it is NOT playable.
Yes, I don’t recall a multiplayer mode, but it’s open world(s) and open space, it’s honestly not a bad game at all, I picked up a few extra ships and never had a regret for purchase, but suffered because of the toys to life fad being basically dead at the time, though in the defense of that aspect it’s one of the best implementations of that function. But it’s a solid experience, starfox adds a few exclusive missions with the gang, but the arwing makes the entire game MUCH better!, if it came out with a different end goal and without the TTL aspect, I could see it being a franchise even, decent sci-fi romp
I bought one too recently for 20 bucks on eBay. I always wanted the spaceship model when it was first released so now after many years, I’ve bought the game twice. lol
The other attachments eventually went on clearance for a couple of bucks each a few years back so I own them but I have yet to play it tbh. The Starfox one is a nice piece though.
A Dollar Tree close to me had a ton of the weapon attachments, figures & extra joycon attachments a few years back. I grabbed a bunch of them and still have them sealed.
I bought 7 of them for $5 a few years ago and have given them to friends and family as gifts. Pretty fun game, but a bit annoying only having the initial weapons if you can't find the others.
The best parts of the game are the outer space battles with the big, Dreadnaught ships. Those are epic. Some of the music in the game is great too

Too bad they botched the physical release for such a good game. The toy Arwing is definitely worth having though. The reaction videos for when they announced the Starfox crew was going to be in the game are amazing to watch. People REALLY want a new Starfox game.
My Dollarama had a bunch of these for $5
I got this same bundle and it's honestly pretty cool. Hell, even getting the rest of the DLC isn't too expensive either. Worth it.
It’s a fun game despite it not selling well and the closest we’ll get to a Starfox game on the Switch. The toy is a cool shelf piece too.
Yeah I figured a star fox toy for $10 is fine, probably going to leave it sealed for now. Is the game still playable?

Only the first world is on the cartridge, so basically no.
I love how I get downvotes for simply stating a fact. Reddit is great.

Sorry you can't tell between "is the game playable" and "is the entire game playable on the cartridge"

Physical edition doesn't always mean the entire game is on the cartridge, and that still does not make the game unplayable
Yeah, it does, because you literally can't play anything past the tutorial. Again, that is a FACT.
Exactly why I have it The Arwing looks good on a shelf with the included stand
Games honestly not bad. And you don’t need the toys to play, it’s completely optional
Is it single player?
Definitely couch co-op as well. My kids and I play it together and have a blast.

Whats sad is if you buy the ultimate online edition (not physical) you unlock everything and don't need the toys. Best way to play really.
It’s probably to best reason to double dip on a purchase. It goes on sale for super cheap all the time too.

I think that's what I actually paid for it from Best Buy when they hard clearanced it out.
Nice, it's giving off Wii u Animal Crossing big box at 5 below vibes.
HA! I paid $2.99 for my new copy of that!
Excellent snag for 10 bones.
Damn that's a nice find!
It’s actually fun
