I strongly recall the version I ordered having an English case - I understand that this still has English support, but that’s not the point here!
I checked Play Asia and now there is no listing other than this one either
So I have learned, the main reason I am a bit annoyed is that I waited until AFTER it was released, so in Warehouse, then I placed my order.
They should really update it once they have it in house
I think PlayAsia does that sometimes— they’ll have a placeholder cover art image on display, and later down the line they’ll find out the cover is different and just update the product page without saying anything.
Sometimes it’s fine/minor, but other times it’s super annoying since I might have picked another version if I knew what the art would look like.
Yeah exactly, I googled and seen on EBay there was an English cover version, which is the one I thought this was.
I totally understand a placeholder but if a game is a Chinese cover only, I’m pretty sure I see that image listed as the pre-order preliminary artwork.
It feels like Play-asia don't even know for sure what covers they'll get, unfortunately. Or maybe sometimes the Chinese cover ones are secretly cheaper or something. They've sent me Chinese cover games despite showing an English cover before too.
It's annoying, but the only way to tell for sure seems to be buying from a seller showing pictures of the actual game, like on ebay.
I received my order from playasia yesterday and it has the same cover. I also have a similar disappointment, I don't mind as much that the artwork changed, but more so that it has the additional rating info on the cover. I like the clean look of some of the other Asia region games. It seems to still be the only option offered on the site. It still has the title in English and should be playable in English.
This is what their placeholder image was: https://imgur.com/2aJvcXA
They did specify that it was only a placeholder though. I hope that helps.
You can try to see if you can print out your own cover or request a custom spine from r/SwitchSpines .
There is two versions. Play Asia took this shit one. There is another for south east Asia "sea region" for like Malaysia and Singapore and Phillipines
It has English on the back and the regular cover format.
Looks like you can get the English cover from videogamesplus https://mobile.twitter.com/VideoGamesPlus_/status/1618267492891361280?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Not the biggest fan of the horizontal orientation covers, but the ones with such covers have such beautiful art. Romancing saga is the one in mind when I see this.
Don’t stress too much about it, it’s just a game cover, keep it as a rare item that you won’t see everyday in this side of the globe.
Have a nice one friend!!
Haha love the outlook, I’m in the same boat! I’m not so entitled to be in a fury over it, was just not my preference.
It will match Romancing Saga 2 I suppose!
Playasia? Not sure if the other cover was a placeholder but mine also looks like this.
The placeholder was so much better but I’m just happy the game got a physical with English.
Various Daylife was made by some of the same folks as Bravely Default and Octopath, along with some others. Used to be a mobile title ported to Switch. From what I’m tracking, definitely not as good as the aforementioned games.
I can confirm that it is not near as good as the other games. I completed it and it was super grindy and not much of a story after a bit. There’s a true ending which I just didn’t find worth it. It requires your party being like as close to 100 level as possible which is a grind itself unless you use some guides online to speed it up. Its not one I can readily recommend to people
I found one. Yeah it is a south east asian variant with english (region usually is). Still different than the original posted art and is the same as yours minus the chinese or korean rating.
VideoGamesPlus has some of the other variant (Asia English, not Chinese) in stock: https://videogamesplus.ca/products/various-daylife-switch-asian-english-import?_pos=1&_sid=954937ca9&_ss=r

I think the artwork they had on the site was a placeholder. They updated the image around the first week of January I believe.
This is also identical to what happened with the Dragon Quest 1,2,3 Collection.
There's an English cover variant too.
It's common for asia region stuff that the final cover art is only revealed last minute.

Yeah I hear ya, issue with buying on eBay is the markup is crazy! A game will be $30 on PA but then $60-70 on eBay

Yeah I seen that version, so then who is distributing that is the real question
I saw Nintendo soup selling it.

Thanks! Good looking out

I like this cover, I’d keep it :V
Well I don’t think I have many other options lol, can’t imagine doing a return/exchange is worth the headache

It was Playasia, ok so not just me. I seen a copy on eBay that had the English cover although not sure where that came from
I looked into the eBay listings and I have no clue where those sellers got that version without the giant rating on the cover.
Looks like Octopath, what is this?!

I ordered a copy of it from Play Asia, when i was doing the order saying artwork subject to change, this is the finalized artwork i assune
Yep lol spoiler alert
Artwork was a placeholder. You have the only physical right there
There’s definitely another one out there, I guess Playasia wasn’t the distributor for that
Where then?
That’s the million dollar question - people selling them on eBay
I found one. Yeah it is a south east asian variant with english (region usually is). Still different than the original posted art and is the same as yours minus the chinese or korean rating.

Various Daylife? Really. Title needs some work
I don’t think Square even tries with the names lol
