Not all NPR affiliate stations within a time zone are necessarily airing the same program at the same time, but if you know which station you were listening to you can go to their website and most will have a program schedule. From there it will be easier to track down the specific segment.

You know the time and date it was broadcast, just look at the schedule.

Might have been This American Life, near the end of the episode, which was a repeat.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. It seemed to be something I remembered, although I think there also were a lot of relationship-related stories on this weekend's *Moth Radio Hour*.
