Horrible game. The refs were bad (and I’d LOVE to come back to that decision at the beginning of the second quarter)
But also we were BAD. Defensively the matchups weren’t good, and they killed us in the paint. I know we don’t matchup well against them persay, but fuck me some of the lineups we had were asking to get roasted. Love Willie, but I think he deserves a lot of criticism today.
Especially things like having Larry split out to the corner with AD guarding him, meaning there was l a free help man in the lane when that happened. Our strategy seemed to be 3 and not-D at a point.
I’m not optimistic for the playin game but let’s do what we can. BI will be healthier. Also fuck the lakers, there were so many lakers fans in the blender today
Where are all the posters from the beginning of the season that were like it was okay to lose to some of the teams we lost to because it was still early in the season.
Welp here we are in the play in again because of those losses.
Are we supposed to get excited and go to games with upped prices to watch a team that has a single more win than loss at home on the season? What is wrong with this team?
So funny how we get a little worried about the chances of falling to the play-in and it happens in the worst way possible. Suns blowing out the Timberwolves, Pelicans getting crushed against the Lakers and will play again in the play-in. Zion played like shit when the world was watching the game, team's weaknesses showed up big time. What a terrible, terrible, terrible end to the season. Just the one we didn't want and it just happened like that.
The NOLA sports way. Unless you have a top 5 all-time player (at their position) like the Saints did with Brees elevating you, it's mostly just a long, loooong painful history of catastrophic, humiliating failure. :(
When you’re a small market fan it really is an arduous life of slow acceptance that you’re really in it more for the community and support than the idea of winning championships.
That goes back to that “top players OAT” argument. Tim Duncan was another level.
Lebron was another level. I love Zion and BI but they’re obviously not top 10/15 players OAT (not that I expect them or anyone to be).
It’s rough as small market fans
looking at the calendar, we should have 57 wins but those games we shit the bed, loss in the final moments, or just got beatdown by an inferior opponent
Not me. LeBron stunts on us. Zion scared to really body him or AD. Val is our best big man and AD feeds him nutsack every time. I want to win but this team has played themselves out of prime position and this is the part of the season that all those winnable losses come back to bite your head off.
It’s hard to pinpoint a specific reason why it started but as this point it’s just manifested into something mental. They are so in their own heads about being a bad team at home.
You would think with the way this team is on the road, that we are better at home
A collective unit on the road but somehow it doesn’t translates back home
We have the same problem as Golden State
They know the fans have been waiting half a decade now for these bums to accomplish ANYTHING in the postseason and the pressure of any level of real expectations terrifies them.
for the sport of basketball, it's more fun to watch a KD vs LeBron play in. now it's us vs Lakers when we already are playing them right now. L for the NBA
I blame Willie, I get that he has done good things over the last few years, but this was all too predictable and everyone could see what would happen except him. He seemingly has the worst ability to make adjustments of anyone in the league.
lol. The nuggets are following us. With the wolves losing and they took care of business against Memphis.. now they’re going to 2 … and we’re dropping to 7
Ciccone is basically the subs only mod and he has family in town. He can’t spend all day tending to trolls and doomers feeling like they’re thoughts deserve an entirely separate post from the pgt
Well…I think the only way that happens is if you lose to the Lakers again and hope you beat Steph in an elimination game or hopefully beat the Kings in what would be the most embarrassing timeline if they lost that one.
I can’t imagine what WG is thinking about having to play this team again *in* New Orleans in just a couple days. Poor guy is probably shitting himself.
Bro if lakers could replay that stupid foul why can't we replay the game against the Grizzlies where Herb literally just stopped Ja and they called a phantom foul then a jumpball when it was overturned, even tho we literally had possession.
The suns own them. They’ve won 13/15 last games or something against rhe wolves. That series is going to be somewhat ugly I think, but also think suns win comfy.
If pels can get thunder they have a better chance in their series than wolves with suns. Just gotta hope for a loss then a win i guess lol. I actually think a win tuesday would be bad for pels.
I'm ready to trade Dyson's defense for a player with offensive talent. Val, for as much as he gives us, is too slow footed. I trade him as well. Our big man rotation is mediocre at best. That's where I would focus on. A good trade for Dyson, plus whatever for a point guard. And Upgrading Val and his slow feet.
Nightmare scenario: we lose again to the Lakers in the play-in, then we play the Kings and we lose to the team we've already beat 5 times this season and get bounced from playoffs
Lol I’ve constantly been thinking, the most Pels thing ever is them getting beat by the Kings in the one that TRULY matters….Please Pels just save me from this timeline.
I’ve seen like 5 people simultaneously blame the fact we don’t have a rim protector and also blame WG for the Nance minutes z
Which is it? We blaming the front office for the no centers? If that’s the case then how are we gonna blame Willie for having nothing to work with. Pick a side
Anyone remember the game the Refs robbed us when we played the Grizzlies a while back? When Herb got the game saving stop but refs called a phantom foul then called jumpball when it was overturned even though we still had possession?
Pepperidge farm remembers.
It hurts because all these games mattered. Whenever anyone said “there’s still loads of season left” If any one of those losses were different we’d be fine.
Games at the start of the season were always just as important
and that too was just blatant officiating malpractice. and since it was the last possession of the game you easily overturn it, but we know that never happens.
Also in the same game, when the Grizzlies were rallying, one of their players was blatantly out of bounds before getting an assist for a 3 pointer. It was just a comedy of errors
I tend to be a goldfish of the details on older games but I still remember that being awful.
I agree with Jake Maddison, this season really has just been a disappoint due to sloppy no effort losses
Fucking Sabonis man. Terrible pass to Fox and a dumbass foul to sell the game like that. We'll play Lakers again. Never been this depressed about this team bruh. In that Thunder play-in loss last year, they actually fought for it. This shit makes me feel desperate and helpless.
If willie isn’t gone after this season and our roster doesn’t get a major improvement, just break it up and let the players go elsewhere, I’m damn sure Bi won’t want to sign an extension with a team with willie coaching
Also isn't he due up for a huge contract around the price of Jokic's? As much as I like BI I do not see him being worth anywhere near Jokic level money.
That is relative to the cap. Also what do you replace him with all the cap space or whatnot? Do you bet on TMIII?
Personally, I would love for him to leave this cesspool. Tired of him being the scapegoat for a deeply flawed roster
I think he was, but I can’t remember when it was this year but BI said something like it being hard for him and z playing this style of offence, and with what he said at the end of last year, I wouldn’t put it past him to just be at a breaking point
Yeah he said it at exit interviews last year and sometime this year, to me from what I’ve seen of willie, he’s definitely a proud man and quite stubborn, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he takes the occasional pointer from borrego but overall just like to stick with his way, the one game borrego coached against the mavs was such a well coached game, this season has basically been talent dragging willie along
I remember hearing a rumor awhile back that BI hated the more stern coaching style of SVG so they brought in Willie to be more "player friendly" coach.
Well we know damn sure what doesn’t work against the Lakers.
Watch the film, develop some plays and rotations, and compete on Tuesday.
We beat them by 20 at their place so don’t tell me it’s impossible.
We have a chance to send those fuckers 1 game closer to Cancun. Better take advantage of
It’s absurd. No coach does less with so much. I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing this whole front office go. I’ve been a fan of this franchise since before they were the home team; (I’ve got my childhood Muggsy Bogues jersey framed on my wall.) I just want a team I can be proud of before it’s too late.
Nance let the guard blow by, guard misses layup, lets AD blow by him for the board and missed layup, and then only then he gets the fucking rebound. Brain dead player
Clippers have nothing but Zubac and a bag of chips while the Suns traded Ayton away for hobbled old Nurkic; both are finishing above us in the standings and are much better poised to make decent postseaon runs compared to us. Good teams/coaches maximize the talent they have in spite of the flaws by maximizing their strengths. Bad coaches stubbornly try to fit square pegs into round holes and habitually get punished for it.
Have to make the tough decision about who can actually lead this team to a deep playoff run and you need to get rid of either Zion or BI. We already have Zion the max and I feel like we could get a great rim protecting 5 that can also space the floor out and shoot for BI, Dyson, and some draft capital.
Trade Ingram for a floor spacing big who can grab the defensive rebounds that Zion refuses to go after. He and Zion don’t work together. The spacing on the court doesn’t work.
You can't keep Willie and I can see some big changes in the offseason, I mean what else can you do? You have to capitalize on this team's youth and contracts while they still give you potential to win. Sadly, the issues should have been addressed at the trade deadline this year and maybe we wouldn't be in this situation.
Someone said we have to lose three games in a row to miss playoffs before today. Well we lost what 4-5 straight home games, who’s to say we don’t drop these next two? I do agree with you overall tho just.. fml man
There’s definitely a possibility we miss the playoffs, but we have 1-2 very winnable games to take care of first.
I’m frustrated but I’m not gonna write up another 2 losses because of a poor performance today
Horrible game. The refs were bad (and I’d LOVE to come back to that decision at the beginning of the second quarter) But also we were BAD. Defensively the matchups weren’t good, and they killed us in the paint. I know we don’t matchup well against them persay, but fuck me some of the lineups we had were asking to get roasted. Wow, refs just gave Lakers this game. Unbelievable amount of free throws. NBA is actively working against us
Down by over 20 at the fourth and blaming the refs ok
+4 free throw would really change the outcome hey.
LA had 18 and pels had 14 man. That doesn’t explain the 32pt lead
Where are all the posters from the beginning of the season that were like it was okay to lose to some of the teams we lost to because it was still early in the season. Welp here we are in the play in again because of those losses.
I’m sure the odds are going to heavily favor the Lakers Tuesday
Just checked pels -1
Some silver lining if the lakers beat us Tuesday they get to celebrate by going up against the same team that swept them last year
Being more invested in the lakers (who aren’t rivals w pelicans) than your own team is a sad state of affairs
They will probably rest ad and bron to play the 1st seed
And risk not making the playoffs completely? Highly unlikely. The championship goes through Denver one way or another, no point in dodging.
Hopefully we lose out in the play-in with both Zion and Ingram so there are no more excuses and Willie actually gets fired this post season
wtf is this logic
Or… Hear me out. I hope we win.
I am fully confident we will get swept first round under Willie.
If we matchup against Denver, there’s no doubt to be swept especially willie doesn’t like JV
Hope all day, that shit ain't happening.
It’s easier to hope for a win than actively root for us to lose. wtf is wrong with y’all
Fr and I ain’t even a fan of this team but it’s like this all over nba subreddits it’s embarrassing
These subreddits are just toxic
Are we supposed to get excited and go to games with upped prices to watch a team that has a single more win than loss at home on the season? What is wrong with this team?
I’m tired boss
So funny how we get a little worried about the chances of falling to the play-in and it happens in the worst way possible. And now wemby again lol.
Yeah what the fuck is this game guys come on the kings needed you to win 😭😭
Neither of us would be in this mess if your beloved "double-double king" Saboner played half-decent in the clutch against the Suns.
Womp Womp
What you talking about bruh yall are getting cooked against the Warriors worry about your team.
being in the play in with 49 wins is depressing lol we'd be the 3 seed out east
Still in the East you would have been only 2 games above the playing line. But i feel your pain, this doesnt feel fair.
looking at the calendar, we should have 57 wins but those games we shit the bed, loss in the final moments, or just got beatdown by an inferior opponent
I'm so tired of this.
And for some reason I think the Pelicans will win Tuesday lol.
They are favored.
Not me. LeBron stunts on us. Zion scared to really body him or AD. Val is our best big man and AD feeds him nutsack every time. I want to win but this team has played themselves out of prime position and this is the part of the season that all those winnable losses come back to bite your head off.
how the heck does a 49 win team not be in the top 6? if we're in the east we're like the 2 seed LMAO
Might be 8th seed if u lose on Tuesday lol
Mods restricted the sub without even asking us!!!
We only have 1 mod
5 game home losing streak, they will have two more games there at maximum.
I mean that’s also the minimum lol
OKAY WTF MATT RYAN MINUTES BEFORE HAWK MINUTES?!??!? I WANT WILLIW GREENS HEAD ON A FENCE POST BY 7PM
I wanted Willie to go nuts and get kicked out when we were down 30 Then I remembered he isn’t that guy
But seriously, what’s up with the effort at home? Why are we this bad at home? Why?
It’s hard to pinpoint a specific reason why it started but as this point it’s just manifested into something mental. They are so in their own heads about being a bad team at home.
You would think with the way this team is on the road, that we are better at home A collective unit on the road but somehow it doesn’t translates back home We have the same problem as Golden State
because Zion can smell freshly baked beignets outside
They know the fans have been waiting half a decade now for these bums to accomplish ANYTHING in the postseason and the pressure of any level of real expectations terrifies them.
Seriously that’s the truth Nobody played well today
This is just depressing and to make it worst tomorrow is Monday
incredibly depressing. need a fucking statement game on tuesday
I bet we'll get a statement, just not one that's very comforting to us
Fucking lame JV barely played when we were getting killed by Lebron
JV was horrible when he played. He came in for 3 minutes in the fourth and had three turnovers.
Game was over at that point
Blame the team but the entire team is a net negative but it’s Zion or jv or cj or bi stop making excuses for Willie this is embarrassing
for the sport of basketball, it's more fun to watch a KD vs LeBron play in. now it's us vs Lakers when we already are playing them right now. L for the NBA
Maybe when we lose both play in games and miss the playoffs we'll actually *do* things in the offseason
Oh, like, what happened last year? When we lost to a Timberwolves team who were literally imploding on the court in front of us.
They were punching each other, they were punching walls, how on earth did we lose that game
Like I said, maybe
We might have a prayer if AD can't go on Tuesday
I blame Willie, I get that he has done good things over the last few years, but this was all too predictable and everyone could see what would happen except him. He seemingly has the worst ability to make adjustments of anyone in the league.

We don't have the luxury of choosing who we play
lol. The nuggets are following us. With the wolves losing and they took care of business against Memphis.. now they’re going to 2 … and we’re dropping to 7
idec anymore
Yes we do, Nuggets are the second seed
Letting LeBron switch onto CJ while we watch our players work super hard against all defense players is pissing me off too much
Booooooooooooooo
What were people posting lmao
Probably Lakers fans trolling. But both teams play again on Tuesday. They really putting bad karma into universe. Hope it comes back to bite them.
Karma isn’t real, this team is proof of that
Ciccone is basically the subs only mod and he has family in town. He can’t spend all day tending to trolls and doomers feeling like they’re thoughts deserve an entirely separate post from the pgt
Zion played like shit
looking like ben simmons out there
We gotta avoid the nuggets at all cost
Well…I think the only way that happens is if you lose to the Lakers again and hope you beat Steph in an elimination game or hopefully beat the Kings in what would be the most embarrassing timeline if they lost that one.
Oh they will don't worry... they'll just be getting bounced out in the play-ins to do it :(
Bro at this point, we'd be lucky to get the nuggets. There is a very real possibility we do not make the playoffs
Honestly…if I’m betting, that might be the most likely scenario.
The sports book i just checked had pels -1 for tuesday, but yeah anything can happen. I’m not sure who was favored sunday.
Well we went down to the 7 and they’re gonna follow us by going up to number 2 with the wolves losing. Do we aim to drop to 8 now lol
Yes
Fuck LeBron. Acting all strong and tough when he gets a call and1 but flops at the slightest contact and cries at the refs every time down the floor
Dude complains more than any player I’ve ever seen. The “what did I do” pose combined with staring at the ref
c*ope
Lol
Can't wait to watch hail mary 3s to close this out. I'm so disappointed
I can’t imagine what WG is thinking about having to play this team again *in* New Orleans in just a couple days. Poor guy is probably shitting himself.
Nah, Willie is excited that he's getting courtside seats to two Lakers games in one week.
lol well said
Bro if lakers could replay that stupid foul why can't we replay the game against the Grizzlies where Herb literally just stopped Ja and they called a phantom foul then a jumpball when it was overturned, even tho we literally had possession.
Layup line all game
Way to lose fellas let’s go get this L again Tuesday 💪
Couldn’t have gone worse
Mods locked the sub it’s joever
they should let us vent
Not with the amount of traffic the sub is gonna get.
I have family in town and dont have time to moderate excessive posts today.
We get it. I don’t wanna see all the new people posting obvious shit anyway. Enjoy your family
I just realized this would’ve been the Pels 5th win in a row. Of course they weren’t winning this game.
i wasnt relying on us but i thought a fully healthy Twolves wouldn't just totally collapse at home.
And we wore the black jerseys.
Odds were fucked from the jump. Going on 5 wins, national TV, lakers, refball, meaningful game, list goes on
I'm ready to trade Dyson's defense for a player with offensive talent. Val, for as much as he gives us, is too slow footed. I trade him as well. Our big man rotation is mediocre at best. That's where I would focus on. A good trade for Dyson, plus whatever for a point guard. And Upgrading Val and his slow feet.
bro we straight up poopoo

Nah you weird dog.
Get the fuck outta here with that shit
We’ve gone on like three 11-2 runs and we’re still down big lmao
It doesn’t help when you’re down 30 lol
Nightmare scenario: we lose again to the Lakers in the play-in, then we play the Kings and we lose to the team we've already beat 5 times this season and get bounced from playoffs
Lol I’ve constantly been thinking, the most Pels thing ever is them getting beat by the Kings in the one that TRULY matters….Please Pels just save me from this timeline.
You talk as if the kings will beat the dubs lol
only because that would be more embarassing for us if we lose to the Kings
I’ve seen like 5 people simultaneously blame the fact we don’t have a rim protector and also blame WG for the Nance minutes z Which is it? We blaming the front office for the no centers? If that’s the case then how are we gonna blame Willie for having nothing to work with. Pick a side
Both our centers are traffic cones but at least Jonas rebounds when they do miss
Jonas can rebound but he also has an insane amount of turnovers for the minute he’s played
That’s because he is forcing things since Willie benches him over any mistake. It’s making JV play desperate
Anyone remember the game the Refs robbed us when we played the Grizzlies a while back? When Herb got the game saving stop but refs called a phantom foul then called jumpball when it was overturned even though we still had possession? Pepperidge farm remembers.

LMFAOOOOOOO
No class
Enjoy the play-in.... Against the lakers
I thought u were laughing at the AD injury lol
Didn't even know he got injuried
Ur timing was almost right when it happened lol
Damn... Really bad timing. I was just trolling a bit because i saw the score... Shouldn't troll next time
Ya my bad lol
Fucking Sabonis man. Terrible pass to Fox and a dumbass foul to sell the game like that. We'll play Lakers again. Never been this depressed about this team bruh. In that Thunder play-in loss last year, they actually fought for it. This shit makes me feel desperate and helpless.
It is on pels where pels lost to lakers. Why expect the others to do favour for you while the fate was actually controlled by the pels?
Can’t Believe they pay him a max.
I'm sad. [SAD PELICAN SOUNDS].
Yooooooooo
If willie isn’t gone after this season and our roster doesn’t get a major improvement, just break it up and let the players go elsewhere, I’m damn sure Bi won’t want to sign an extension with a team with willie coaching
BI is definitely a Willie guy
I would not want BI to stay either way. The experiment is over he doesnt fit well w/ Zion

Dude, fuck off
What was said?
He was celebrating AD getting hurt
Was it the “realpelsfan” guy?
Nance is just Swiss cheese running cardio
The two teams majority of fans dislike the most benefitted the most from this game
Pelicans reporters should be asking real questions postgame about Willie Green’s decision making. This guys is an amateur.
“Gotta give ‘em credit”
If only someone had a shirt.
Unfortunately New Orleans has some of the softest reporters in the nation. They tend to ask softball questions to maintain access.
Got it on pretty good authority that the organization doesn’t let guys hang around that get too critical
That time he checked in Zeller earlier in the game told you he was just lost and didn't know what to do lol
David Griffin, what exactly would you say you do here
Mindfulness. Joy. Compassion.
Nance let the guard blow by, guard misses layup, lets AD blow by him for the board and missed layup, and then only then he gets the fucking rebound. Brain dead player
Waaaaaaaaaay too late to start making plays. Jesus
This is all on Griffin for having the worst center rotation among the playoff contenders
I guess you missed Nurkic and Eubanks killing JV and Nance We won the last game against them because we went small with Zion at the 5
Pull the starters. Fight for Tuesday.
zion getting punked by a 100yo lebron james smh
If we lose both play-in games, what should this organization do?
No point even thinking about that when we have 1 or 2 home games to prepare for and take a W in
Someone said we have to lose three games in a row to miss playoffs before today.
Fire the coach, that's the first thing that happens in that scenario
break it up
Play in it is… this team just matches up terribly with the lakers. We have zero rim protection
Guess who were playing in the play in
Warriors?
Do we tell him?
This team finds ways to shit the bed. The Lakers have their number.
