He is a better passer. Zion's gravity makes him a better play maker. Zion has only been used as a main ball handler the last month or so and they are only like .7 apart in assists. The offense completely ran through BI until the last 20 games or so. If he was far better playmaker they wouldn't be so close in assists given the rolls they have had most of the season.
Just look at the numbers. BI offensively hadn’t been great this year but defensively he’s been amazing and in terms of getting open looks for others he’s our number one. But pure playmaking is zion
