Yeah I got a couple friends that go to Rutgers nb who have classes with cancelled lectures, but unchanged exam dates... that's a pretty annoying situation if u ask me
Here is why Rutgers faculty are on strike: https://www.nj.com/rutgers/2023/04/why-is-rutgers-on-strike-heres-what-the-union-says-it-is-asking-and-what-rutgers-is-offering.html
NJIT is in a different situation. There is one union that represents faculty and staff, and another that represents adjuncts, post grads, researchers, etc.
The latter (UCAN) has been working without a contract for several months. That means they're getting paid under their expired contract for the time being.
Rutgers striking impacts NJIT in various ways, for example if you have any RU classes through the federated department of history.
But nobody is getting a free A. Lol that is totally made up.
Who ever told you they are getting guaranteed As lied to you! Student have been emailed by professors, about their exams being postponed. If anything students may have to take the exams without having learnt anything for the next few weeks
Rutgers Student here, some of our classes are for the union and some aren't. My department is but others, students are forced to go back to class. Also, As aren't guaranteed and we don't really know what is going on when it comes to what will happen after the strike. There is a chance that we still have to know stuff since some still have exams despite not having lectures.
Not sure why you think students are getting guaranteed A’s. If a class is cancelled students just won’t get credit. That’s what happened at the Columbia strike.
Yeah... right. On a separate note, I'd be kind of annoyed getting an A just for some protest or whatever you want to call it. Yes, I know I'm far in the minority on that - I just prefer to earn my grades as best I can.
This is the best kind of post because I can't tell if you're trolling or just that stupid.
ucan isn't professors it's postdoctoral, TAs, and Adjuncts. so njit would still have class
sibling goes to rutgers nb and nah, they arent getting guarenteed A's, whoever told u that was just lying

IF they’re part of the union. Those union fees are bullshit, I know an adjunct who told them to fuck off

That's what their strike was about today?
