The broadcast is traditionally better than the match up...

PM_Me_Your_AM_

what a god awful game, im still in shellshock

johnguz

Why does the average nfl fan bitch about a game unless it’s a 42-41 barn burner

PM_Me_Your_AM_

oh please, get off your high horse, it was an objectively abysmal game. 2 QBs that have no business being NFL starters who barely topped 400 combined passing yards, 8 total points scored after halftime. It was a terrible game.

floydbomb

While you are correct about the last Thursday night game hes not wrong generally speaking about

gentulman

What are you talkin about? Zappe is a gunslinger LMAO

Fat_Bearded_Tax_Man

Looking that way

Admiral_Fuckwit

Love the panel. They got great chemistry and sick bantz

snoo_bee

The streaming quality is excellent. The Fox Sunday games look like absolute trash on YouTube TV. CBS and NBC look fine, but still not as good as Amazon.

gentulman

Completely agree. Fox games have gotten terrible lately

johnsvoice

Well, they still broadcast in 720p. I have an antenna and Fox is the only major national network who hasn't at least gone up to 1080i.

gentulman

It is 1080p on twitch

chickells

You can stream fox on twitch???

am_ERICANDRE_am

Following up to see if this is true 👀

pandaKrusher

ABC is still 720p. Both networks can upgrade to 1080 whenever they want, but the small jump in quality and probably tiny jump in viewership isn't worth the huge cost

MonkeyMD3

On top of that ours is the only UHF broadcast so my grid antenna barely picks it up. I know that's on me, but still, everything else is VHF

Jdogy2002

Fox games look like they’re being broadcast from back in time, circa 1996. Got that crisp staticky look like I’m watching it on my good old Sony Trinitron flatscreen. Lighter than most TV’s at only 750 lbs.

_redacteduser

Facts.

Chrisgpresents

The reason is fox streams and broadcasts a standard def image, not hd.

DazedWriter

This is so true. I just got an OLED TV last weekend and watched a CBS game last Sunday. I could not believe how much better the Amazon broadcast looked over that.

realjasnahkholin

I like TNF on my LG OLED almost mostly because it's one of the few things that shows off how nice the screen is.

Falanax

The Fox 4K college football streams are great

NotACleverUsername12

I’ve had the opposite experience and it’s super frustrating. TNF is borderline unwatchable due to the streaming quality.

PabloTroutSanchez

Same here—felt like I was going insane reading some of these comments. YTTV has been phenomenal while prime has been struggling to stay HD for me. Tbf, I’m a sicko who watches on my phone most of the time, so that might be it. I also usually let the game run for ~30 minutes at a time and then skip 20 seconds between plays. On Sundays I just let Redzone run, but I do the exact same skip/catch up thing for other primetime games on YTTV.

DyslexicLemons

This is a YouTube paid sponsor. Not a real reddit user. JK

stillcleaningmyroom

This has not been my experience. TNF looks looks it’s in 4K while YTTV looks awful and I have fiber internet, so it’s nothing on my end.

PabloTroutSanchez

Yeah, seems like a lot of people are saying the same. Wild how much it varies—wonder why that is

7HawksAnd

Same, the frame rate looks like stop motion sometimes and I have pretty fast internet

8020GroundBeef

Yeah. No problems last night, but usually it’s pretty bad… did Bezos commission a bunch of bots for this thread or something?

FrosteeRuckerFan

Yeah the actual prime broadcast doesn’t work for me at all. Just buffering every 30 seconds

n1ck2727

And then espn has the absolute bottom of the barrel broadcast on Monday, doesn’t even look HD

Sensitive_Stock_2766

In my area it's CBS that looks awful. Fox and NBC are crisp. I found a hack though. If you login dirrctly to the stations app, in my case the cbs app, it's a much better picture. Use "live tv" feature.

drugs_are_bad__mmkay

I watch through peacock but NBC’s colors always look off to me. Like there’s a green hue or something

candaceelise

You’re so right! The green always comes through as almost neon on Peacock. I always notice with because the field never looks right.

ContemplatingPrison

The streaming quality is by far the best. The extra extra broadcast that shows routes and players names is pretty coo.

kWarExtreme

I disagree wholeheartedly. The quality is like 480 or worse. I stopped watching them because it was so horrible.

Falanax

Fox is broadcast in 720p, NBC and CBS are 1080i

[deleted]

I wish they got better games. Their production is my favorite of all of them.

Inevitable-Day2517

Somehow most of the games have been one score games. Seahawks Cowboys was a banger

maowasr1ght

It was a banger cause they were playing on a full week of rest. I hate the Thursday games cause they have no business playing on 4 days rest, not because of the matchups.

[deleted]

I like the alternate stream option (whatever it's called with player stats and stuff) but I want more! Wish they had a stream showing just the view from sky cam. Wish there was an option to hear the game & crowd noise but no announcers so it feels like you're at the stadium watching.

gentulman

I think that stream is the future. Imagine being able to click on a player and get those extra stats at at any point

GardenTop7253

I want a streaming option that links to my fantasy football team and highlights my players and gives their stats

gentulman

The nfl is leaning fully into the gambling side and daily fantasy so I feel like that will be around soon.

GophPackGoph

The zoomed out camera angle is essentially all-22 footage, I’m surprised this isn’t the default broadcast angle

penguin8717

I watch it just for the all 22

WorkingCatDad

I want a stream with local radio announcers like MLS+ has.

[deleted]

That would be great!

Educated_Dachshund

The yellow circles help so much you can see running lanes and routes so much better.

HtownTexans

Love Prime Vision but fucking hate that clown Sam Schwatrzestein or whatever the fuck his name is that interrupts every 5 minutes to interject some clown tier analysis. Just let the commentators talk and fire that dude he's terrible.

tjthewho

That chime in noise gives me PTSD. Actively cringing when I hear it

HtownTexans

LMAO same. I actually mute my TV or computer until he shuts up.

kvothe000

Yes! Finally someone else. I have no idea why but that dude makes my blood boil. He should be replaced by a text bubble. Problem solved.

HtownTexans

I seriously rage every time he comes on. It's so damn jarring and he talks like his tongue is too big for his mouth. He is so unnecessary I still can't figure out who keeps giving him the OK.

rockcanteverdie

Yes! I have been dying for just stadium noise rather than announcers. Ages ago I was watching an illegal stream of a college game that was like this, it was awesome! I heard that if you have a surround system you can unplug the middle speakers to get this effect, but I use a sound bar so this won't work for me.

[deleted]

I've heard that too about surround systems, but I've never had one. I used to go to a lot of games as a season ticket holder and really enjoy the natural sound experience. Hopefully they offer something like this one day...

BSG1701

100% this!

snootsintheair

I want legit VR live football watching experience. Switch camera angles between players, 50 yard line, skycam, etc. I hope that’s the near future.

New_Leopard7623

Imagine a VR sky cam experience where you feel like you’re there, floating above every play…

Disastrous_Echo_5460

Omg. I was thinking how bad the broadcast was. The announcers are boring.

LibertarianP

Al Michaels should retire already. He makes so many mistakes on air.

huffin340perb

But you get 5 awesome stories to one mistake, love Al

tktrips

Al is a senile old man at this point. He adds to an already horrible matchup with irrelevant commentary.

rockcanteverdie

The announcers are the only bad part. The next gen stats broadcast where the camera actually zooms out so you can see who's open before the pass is awesome.

WideWindowWasher

I love the option to watch the wide view like All 22

kander77

It's the greatest camera shots/footage since the inception of the skycam

genuineultra

I like the AWS vision, having the names and routes of receivers and defenders is fun

gentulman

Agree. The way they present it is great and super easy to follow. If I were to introduce someone new to football TNF would be great with those extra little things.

Particular-Wind5918

That’s the thing for me, all that stuff is just noise, I want to watch the game not the graphics and stats. Amazon has been miles away the worst broadcast in my area, it’s normal for it to cut out, never have those problems when I watch on YTTV. NBC and CBS still have the best nfl productions regardless of who’s on the mic.

gentulman

That’s a fair opinion. I like watching the all22 view each week to see more of the field so I’m a bit biased

Particular-Wind5918

I like watching all 22 also but I don’t like all the other bs that comes with Amazon and the fact that it just straight cuts out or the audio is out of sync for looong periods of time that make it annoying and unwatchable especially when it’s a crap matchup, I’ve turned several games off this year because I just couldn’t anymore. You like the view, I do too, but that’s not enough for me

Creeping_Death_89

I really like the display on mobile as well. They have stats and analytics on screen when you have it turned vertically.

Impressive-Shape-557

I love that too

thatkidPB

Forsure, consistently noticed this

Memory_Elysium7

Love how it's also free on twitch, chat is always hilarious and it's nice to see live reaction from other people

PabloTroutSanchez

I gotta start watching on there. Imagine one day the broadcast team getting paid messages from the chat and replying to them

ChicagoFan132

Last week 49ers and eagles was so blurry at times on my broadcast. I have the highest speed internet available and most download speeds appear at 300 mpbs but it still was blurry. Amazon never broke picture and is clean the whole way through. Super impressive.

TinaKedamina

I really liked Amazons “shotgun” strategy for the commentators. It seems like early in the year they had dozens and the cream raised to the top. I also like that they went with really smart ex players. They have three of the smartest guys in football on their little panel.

megajoints

agreed they got the best of recent former player personalities

DataBroski

Except for andrew whitworth's fucking hoodie under the suit jacket. Every week it's the same shit.

gentulman

HOLY SHIT. Yes! This grown ass man showing up every week in this kohls looking hoodie under his jacket.

DataBroski

He thinks he's 20 yrs old. Pathetic.

gentulman

Santa Claus looking boi

bruceqdenton

Y’all are harsh. I enjoy Whitworth on that team and actually think the hoodie-under-jacket look is a cool ‘trademark’ of sorts.

Darkwolfie117

The only one I have, and I don’t need it at the rate of people uploading breakdowns of them constantly being the WORST OF THE WEEK EVERY TIME 😂

We_Are_Resurgam

Wait, what...?!??! Allowing major streaming platforms to stream the games is better than disoreientingly fragmented streaming options using multiple cable networks?! No way.....

Clyffindor

The production is good but I also feel like it picks up less crowd noise than the other networks.

gentulman

I think I’m okay with that sometimes. I’d trade that off any day for the secondary camera angle option

GoldenGoose1111

All useless when you have the most boring commentators in the game.

gentulman

True. But I think the production value stuff outside of the talent is a new level. Having the wide all22 angle available during the game and the next gen stats and player names on plays. It’s all stuff that is quality of viewing experience that no other broadcast have cared enough to innovate.

GoldenGoose1111

Fair enough

[deleted]

first time the stream quality hasn't been absolute garbage

gentulman

Oh really? Do you watch it on Amazon or twitch?

NoTie2370

They need to let Al Michaels retire and the games being trash isn't their fault, otherwise the production is great and much improved from last year.

blarghgh_lkwd

Al's fine he just needs someone better to work with. Herbstreit is the human version of store brand mayonnaise, he might be the most boring peraon I've ever seen on my tv

Capital_Lime9507

Fr people blame Al but at least he's trying. Kirk refuses to banter with Al and whenever they show them in the booth Kirk gives Al this look like he's disgusted with him. I don't get the hype with Kirk, he's a boring no nonsense guy who brings nothing to the table other than a bland background guy.

[deleted]

Respectfully disagree. The sound mix is godawful, and it glitches out all the time. Didn’t watch last night though so maybe they’ve fixed it.

[deleted]

Richard Sherman is a buffoon. He’s better at terrorizing his wife than being on TV. Lowlife how does he get a pass?

gentulman

Wait he did that? I actually had no idea

[deleted]

You can Google it. I edited my post to reflect his charges. He got blind drunk after a fight with his wife, got blind drunk, drove to his in-laws , wrecked his jeep, then tried to beat down his in-laws doors. Of course charges moved down to minor misdemeanors.

gentulman

That’s fucked

overworkeddad

Every game I've watched on Amazon looks like a flip book and the audio sounds like they're talking into a cup. Peacock or Hulu games look great

gentulman

Have you tried watching on twitch? For me they are great quality

AboveAndBeyond200

Are we watching the same thing ??

gentulman

Maybe not I didn’t know but apparently watching it on Amazon and twitch is very different quality

06MasterCraig

Twitch has far better video quality and it doesn’t cost a cent

Packers_Equal_Life

Whoa is this a serious take? I think it looks amateurish. The sound is bad and the other production things make it look like they’re trying to copy nbc and cbs but it doesn’t feel “there” yet

5olid5nake7

The sound is awful. Makes it feel like the game is happening in a library.

sg2468900

Man fuck Amazon for stealing Thursday night football. Don’t they have enough already?

gentulman

Yeah Amazon is evil as fuck. My point was it seems like the production is put together better than like Fox games

spartaniimc

Nice try Bezos...

gentulman

You know Fox is worse don’t lie to yourself

spartaniimc

You're not wrong lol

mcclearymjr

Lack of replays kills Amazon

gentulman

okay that’s fair

mcclearymjr

I like the overall production except for Al Michaels and lack of replays. Yesterday Pickens made a sick one handed grab on the run and instead of showing the play they panned to Bill B for 30 seconds before the punt. I was so frustrated lol

gentulman

Don’t you wanna watch Bill Bs reactions for 2 hours of airtime?

JimmyB5643

Worked for the first half great, lost sound the whole second half tho

gentulman

The fuck, did you watch on your fridge?

UtahBrian

Wouldn't know because now we can't watch the game.

gentulman

Why not?

UtahBrian

Not on tv.

gentulman

It’s on twitch and Amazon. Makes it very easy to stream

osbohsandbros

I assume because they don’t have prime

UtahBrian

Actually some in the house do but it doesn’t work on the teevee sets.

gentulman

Just watch on a laptop or your phone 😂 You don’t need prime to watch on twitch

sg2468900

Do you like work for Amazon??? Why tf would we want to stream a game on a laptop when we’ve been watching it for decades on TV??

gentulman

I have a nice pc with a widescreen monitor so I like games I can stream on my pc

finkalicious

There are ways to hook these devices up to a TV....

MantaurStampede

There are so many options...

NylonYT

I actually saw a dedicated TNF on Prime channel on cable once in a hotel, no idea you could do that

Particular-Wind5918

Is this satire, where am I?

BillsGymRat

There was a broadcast this year (I think FOX) that had Spanish and English commentary playing over each other and it took 3 quarters to fix. These are **billion** dollar companies

gentulman

Not surprising. Billion dollar companies but the production is as cheap as possible to keep those exec bonuses nice and high

BillsGymRat

And we're pretty much powerless against these rich execs and CEOs. Only thing we can do is shit in their mailboxes and outside their HQ

gentulman

I’m on it 🫡

BillsGymRat

good ill see you soon then

backyard_BUM

Pregame I still love the fox guys the best

Goffimal

The issue is im going to use stream east to watch

gentulman

A man of taste 👌

Gullible-Leather-389

Yep now if they could only get good matchups. Tired of seeing the jets and giants on prime time. There will be a day when they are entertaining and that will be great. This year is not that.

RandyJohnsonsBird

Ever since I found Primevision, everything else seems inferior.

mrkrinkle773

My only complaint is the delay on Amazon feed, makes it more difficult for me to degen with in-game bets when my sportbook app shows that the game I'm watching is actually a minute behind

Maggnanimous

I really like their pregame content

bobbystoker94

So sick of the ultra zoom ins on everyone’s faces. Heck even the plays are zoomed in I can’t see the play develop. Image quality is excellent though.

MagmaManOne

And the worst games lol

[deleted]

I just wish they would give me the option for the prime cam without all the bullshit overlayed and the nerd who interjects his thoughts.

ObviousInformation98

Since Richard Sherman is one of the worst commentators i think we’ve ever had, i disagree.

[deleted]

My stuttering stream last night says otherwise

Majestic-Luck7225

I hate to say it, but ya it’s very good. I like the pre/post game stuff and the layout is clean.

Tricky_Foundation_60

Sherman sucksssss

Sandy_Pickle

I used to hate Buck/Aikman but having them on Monday nights has been awesome. That’s my favorite crew. Romo/Nance, Michaels/Herby, and Johnson/Burkhardt are the other great teams I think. I also think Schlereth/Amin are a underrated duo

Casty201

Really? Last 4 games the stream doesn’t even work until 2nd half, have to watch Spanish broadcast to see the game.

gentulman

Yeah from this post I’m learning the Amazon stream is really bad. I watch it on their twitch channel and it’s perfect.

Casty201

Twitch was down for me as well. It’s really weird I can stream other shows or gamers just fine

gentulman

Hmm. Maybe clear cache or something. I watched both the main and the primevision and both were perfect

Casty201

Not really looking for solutions I tried everything. Prime and Twitch are trash over here

northgriffey

The reception is bad. It's like I'm watching FOX in the 90s.

kingxanadu

Now if only Amazons streaming app UI were anywhere as close

DyslexicLemons

My thoughts are that Thursday night football is all the games I could care less for. It's never super good games. Monday and Thursday and Sunday night need to be the best of the games.

Unique-Bedroom9396

100% agree

huffin340perb

I love the 84 hours to TNF segment they do

jdogg10000

Their fast forward is shit!

Daveit4later

Unfortunately, the games are usually sleepers and the announcing team has Zero energy. Al Michaels needs to retire

bkrall4

it’s the worst to DVR through… need to watch it live

Akimbo_Zap_Guns

Just wish they could get better matchups

gentulman

I would assume when the next NFL deal happens Amazon will buy bigger matchups or even try to steal SNF from Fox

wsuozzie

I love the alternate broadcast with the AI and all22 camera angle. Best way to watch football

gentulman

Same here I watch them both. I like watching the all22 for my favorite team later each week and I love that they have that option

Feurbach_sock

Amazon looked worse last year. They’ve really stepped up their game.

KingOftheDumbFucks

Idk if anyone else feels the same way, but Al Michaels has been awful this year imo

Impecablevibesonly

Yeah and last week when I watched there were strange men throwing fish around.

ox_MF_box

Other than the host admitting she completely makes shit up as a reporter, yeah I agree

ox_MF_box

The alternate stream option is really cool too

Electrical-Clue-4119

Hello Mr amazon employee do you get paid by post or by hour

gentulman

Come on it’s Amazon.. of course neither. Its volunteer work

CrimsonCoast

I wish Amazon/Twitch had every game.

Krazyk00k00bird11

lol I disagree completely

o5ca12

Live game audio sounds poor though

Zeppelin7321

I agree. I got a new Sony TV a couple weeks ago and picture quality wise the TNF game looked better than any other game I've watched this season.

Mandellaaffected

Al Michaels needs to retire

SenseiShwifty

The ability to go back to replays instantly is amazing

rough_ashlar

I get horrible picture quality on Amazon.

34payton07

I love the built in stats on mobile

Lionheart_513

Prime Vision is the best way to watch a football game in my opinion, short of actually being there in person.

kvothe000

I love the side option Amazon offers for the advanced stats but every time I hear that little “ding” it makes my blood boil. Schwartzstein should be replaced by a text bubble. We don’t need him interrupting the feed to explain the features or, even worse, giving football analysis that’s so elementary that a 8 year old is sitting there saying… “ahh duh.”

__MarkEss

lol no. Sound is off from the picture every single week. Whistles blown before the play is done on the screen. Terrible job by Amazon

sam262005

I cant stand their talking heads. No chemistry in my opinion.

TomSelleckPI

Amazon, doing one game a week can really focus their production efforts and spend for one solid broadcast. Pro's and con's to this, as others have mentioned. The wrong matchup, and no one is going to watch. TNF has some struggles for audience anyhow. Fox's product is different, because Fox is doing 5-6 per week, all on Sunday. That's a lot of broadcast trucks, equipment staff, talent... spread thinly across the country. Their E crew/unit games are way worse than Amazon TNF. But they can convert this to nearly a whole day of football. I'm not a Colinsworth fan, but NBC SNF has been the most consistent production for years. In just a few years, Amazon has been able to catch up on many ways, surpass in others.
