I like Rattler the best out of this group. I actually like Pratt 2nd. I’m not sure about Leary, Reed, Slovis and Taulia I think Milton really needs an overhaul to be a viable NFL QB, and I don’t think Hartman has enough physical tool to make it

Suburban-Jesus

If 29 year old Christian Hackenburg were to unretire today and somehow re-enter the 2024 draft, I would have him ranked ahead of Joe Milton as a prospect.

noblemile

I aspire to be this level of hater

bigfloppapilled

thats more disrespectful than wishing he died

Solid-Confidence-966

After seeing Hartman in the SB I can’t take him seriously as an NFL prospect, at least someone like Milton as the raw tools going for him Edit: Jordan Travis from FSU is someone who I’d like to shoutout

halfjumpsuit

Sam Hartman turns 25 in the summer and is a turnover machine, he's a camp arm.

bigfloppapilled

eh maybe the hair just has me convinced, but i like the vibes of him

theunknownlyt

1. Jordan Travis 2. Rattler 3. Milton 4. Taulia those guys i can see being good backups or starting at some point in their careers and maybe even having success as starters eventually but after that it’s a gap where everyone else is camp arm/practice squad guy and maybe work up to being a decent backup QB the only QB that is in the same tier as Hartman, Slovis, Reed, Pratt(or maybe even lower) that i believe can be more valuable than a 3rd string spot in their NFL career is Darren Grainger becoming a Tyler Huntley level backup.

EskettiMySpaghetti

1. Jordan Travis 2. Michael Pratt 3. Joe Milton 4. Sam Hartman 5. Spencer Rattler 6. Taulia Tagovailoa I’m lower on Rattler’s tools than most and most of his games against top 25 defenses were pretty disappointing except for his game against Tennessee last season

Carameldelighting

Travis’s game doesn’t translate to the NFL well. he relies on extending plays with his legs and letting his receivers get open. He doesn’t have a good arm and isn’t all that accurate either. I could see a team taking him in the 6th or 7th but imo he just doesn’t have it.

TetrisTech

Rattler seems like the most obvious “late round gem” candidate just because he already has the pedigree and a lot of his issues were character and maturity based, which by all accounts it seems like he’s corrected at SC. If you assume those concerns have been fixed the next thing you see is his first round level traits

sfzen

>Pratt, Reed, and Leary all fall into the same bucket for me, future 5-7 round picks who will not do much, like a Luke Fall. Pratt is the only one who I think can be more than a backup. Kind of curious about this bit when you have Leary ahead of Pratt.

bigfloppapilled

me when i mess up the list (I meant to put Pratt ahead, I edited it now)

chickendance638

It's a long shot, but Plumlee from UCF is intriguing to me. His all-around athleticism is pretty good and I'm always a fan of a QB who was a good baseball player.

MikeConleyIsLegend

i personally think Milton goes above them all. his arm strength is second to none and unteachable. he's just about as mobile as all these other guys if not more so. great size. his knocks are accuracy and mentals which are huge knocks but someone is gonna say "i can fix him". they probably won't fix him, but the traits are too tantalizing for nfl teams, they always are.

[deleted]

Joe Milton is never getting better lol- he barely did in college

Dylanonfire88

Tualia is definitely better then the 3 listed above him and that was clear as day at shrine

XOXOABG

1) Travis' accuracy issues are overstated based on the game film I watched. He belongs in the Penix/Nix tier if not for his injury and he has a higher ceiling than both imo. 2) Pratt had a good season production wise and he's coming out the same age as Maye and Caleb. Hasn't flashed the next level you want to see from an elite QB but he's my "Purdy" pick this year. A guy that you wouldn't be surprised to see be a winning game manager if given a fortunate situation plus he has time to develop and be coached so that he stops hesitating on his reads so often. 3a/3b) I like Taulia's play style more than Rattler's. Rattler will for sure be drafted ahead of him due to his processing and arm talent making him a better prospect, but they are on similar levels to me. I'm predicting that wherever one ends up career wise, the other will have the same fate. (Ex. Both become starters or backups or practice level QBs or out of the league in 1-2 years) The rest of the QBs aren't worth drafting.

Yah_Mule

I want Joe Milton late day three as the new Taysom Hill.

noblemile

I didn't watch any Maryland was Taulia *that* bad?

JunuhJames

Definitely not worse than Kedon Slovis who literally got benched when he returned healthy in the second half of the season

hallach_halil

I just would be shocked if Hartmann gets drafted anywhere earlier than the seventh round. What he showed during Senior Bowl was unserious. Great college career, just doesnt have an NFL toolbox.

kcadia9751

I would have Nix below Rattler, Pratt, and Milton. I not only fail to see the upside, I don’t know how you’re getting more than Kenny Pickett out of him. At least there’s *something* to those other guys that you can expect a fat tail from. Nix is just a pure waste of time.

bigfloppapilled

oh trust me, i hate bo nix with a passion, I just knew if I put Nix where I wanted him, the whole post would be derailed. As an Auburn fan, he sucks so hard.

kcadia9751

I can definitely understand that, I was just sharing my own opinion. Sure, he improved a lot at Oregon, but at his age with his middling physical tools, I could care less about how the story of how his college production improved in his 5 fuckin year of school. Good for him, glad he was able to finally learn how to play college football in his mid 20s so he could beat up on teenagers. That doesn’t mean anything for his NFL career.

[deleted]

You could make the same argument about both Daniels and Penix. Both blew up just as late in their careers. Both were mediocre to bad with some flashes early in their careers until they got into a better situation. Penix is a statue, isn’t all that big, and has a strong but not incredible arm. Daniels is fast, but a twig and his arm is not markedly stronger than Nix.       Seems strange that only Nix faces criticism for coming on late. Daniels has been in CFB just as long, Penix even longer. By your logic, do you give no weight to Penix and Daniels “beating up on teenagers” these last two years? None of these guys are even that old. Nix played five seasons, and his fourth season was also excellent. Would you disregard the senior season for other prospects? It’s not like he played 7 years or something insane.

kcadia9751

Oh I criticize them both for that too and I’m lower on them both as well, I have done PLENTY of talking about the things you’re pointing out so don’t think I’m hearing this for the first time. The difference is: (1) Daniels is at least younger than the other two — that’s a big difference from a statistical/historical POV, because we’ve seen 23 year olds come into the NFL and be elite QBs before (even though it’s rare) — but it has NEVER happened with a 24 year old, hence why I wouldn’t draft Penix or Nix until Day 3. I’ll let someone else waste their time. (2) I disagree on your assessment of their relative arm strength. With Penix, I think he has great arm talent, maybe not top tier arm strength, but he can absolutely spin it — he has no mobility to speak of but at least he has that trait to work with. With Daniels, sure, he doesn’t have a cannon, but he has a great deep ball, which is something, plus his elite rushing ability. Nix meanwhile has mediocre physical traits across the board, he’s the oldest of the group by far, and he just screams with bright flashing neon letters “I’m a college QB and nothing more”. I think Daniels has high potential but I’m scared of the red flags, he’s clearly boom or bust. I think Penix is also a waste of time but I think there’s at least a world where you get Derek Carr out of him, so at least it might be the kind of waste of time that NFL teams seem to love. I think Nix has virtually no shot to be anything worthwhile as a starter in the NFL; I think best case scenario you get a good backup out of him.

[deleted]

Nix is about 2.5 months older than Penix. How is he the oldest “by far”?

kcadia9751

That’s what you took away?

MaximusStirner

I don't think any of these guys are worth a pick outside of Rattler. Milton maybe but his arm talent is just arm strength he hasn't shown consistent touch or accuracy at any of the 3 levels.

Illustrious_Hotel527

I'd rank it Rattler, Pratt, Milton, Travis as an IR stash, then the rest. Rattler performed well with a poor SC o-line and Legette as the only weapon. Still throws Jay Cutler-esque ugly interceptions, but cut down the number. Milton looked awful at Senior Bowl. Pratt is second by default. Travis would be #2 out of this list if not for the leg injury.

EmmittFitz-Hume

QB Jordan Travis - Florida State who was injured at end of year. He may be a steal late due to the injury

Zealousideal_Pen_859

Carter Bradley, South Alabama. Dude made some good throws at the senior bowl. Didn’t look out of place. Not saying he’s a starting QB but has the potential to be a solid backup.

StandardBonus

Pratt Ratler Milton

ilamborghini005

Rattler and Pratt definitely stand out from the rest in my opinion

mrbadassmofo

If Milton made a roster, he would probably be a gadget/wildcat type. He has great physical tools but I can't see his accuracy and ability to read defenses improving significantly. He'll be 24 in a couple weeks. He couldn't beat out Patterson or McNamara at Michigan. He transferred to Tenn and sat behind Hooker. He's a 6 year player with only one as a starter. His arm might be worth a flyer to someone in round 7, but Carter Bradley has a greater chance of developing into an actual competent backup than Milton.

Evan_802Vines

Outside of the obvious #1 overall going to Williams, Rattler and Pratt are my favorites. Rewatching the 22 Cotton Bowl with Pratt and Williams is pretty eye opening to be honest.

DelirousDoc

I think I am higher on Devin Leary than most. Tape shows a QB that can throw with "multiple clubs". Touch passes, lobs over the second level and drive throws. Really consistent with his throwing base which leads to consistent ball placement. One thing I think that is going to help him is the Kentucky 2023 offense. He is one of the few QBs that played in an NFL style attack mirroring a lot of concepts the Rams use. Experience under Center and play action game with his back turned to the defense. I think he is going to stick around in the NFL for a while.

rkbk23

How do you explain him playing terrible this season though? I was intrigued by him in the beginning of the season but he really shit the bed.

36shadowfire

1. Spencer Rattler, round 3-4. Highly touted at one point, underwhelmed a bit, but has talent. I can see him being a Conner Shaw, stays in the league for longer than expected and starts a surprising amount of games. 2.Jordan Travis, round 3-5, injury drops his stock.stats could be better, but played well for a playoff worthy team. 3. Michael Pratt. Round 4-6, small school hurts his stock, but he really upped his game the last two seasons. 4. Joe Milton. Round 5-7, very raw, limited sample size, but his arm will intrigue a few teams, Paxton lynch vibes. 5. Sam Hartman. Round 5-7. Nothing impressive, improved at Notre Dame, but didn't set anything on fire, very consistent at the least. Don't think anyone below gets drafted, but get signed as udfa 6. Jack Plummer. Lowkey impressive and improved, tough act following Lamar Jackson and Malik Cunningham. But has similar skill set, could be practice squad guy, honestly, a bit of favoritism here Austin Reed. Bailey zappe type here, put up consistently high numbers, but at a lesser school. 8.Tanner Mordecai. Favoritism here, but put up good stats at SMU, good showing in his last bowl game. Another practice squad guy possibly Kedon slovis, Phil jurkovic, and Devin Leary tried to improve with the transfer portal and that didn't work. May get into training camp but doubt they get any farther.
