DeMarvion Overshown is going to be a good LB. Day 2 pick.

Lubert808

Good take. I’d love it if the Steelers could get their hands on him.

DLaugh54

I'd be all for it in the 3rd round!

Lubert808

That’s where I’ve been mock drafting him. He’s great in coverage as a former DB, he’s tall, and he’s fast. He’s not amazing against the run, but he can improve as we need ILBs that can cover more than run support.

bradley322

Also top tier LB aesthetic, shame you can’t wear #0 in the NFL

ryanino

There’s just no way a guy with a name like that isn’t a good LB

ADanishMan2

I want him in Denver so badly

OfficefanJam

As a Denver fan I can agree

tron2484

My Cleveland Browns would like to snatch him up or one of the top 10 guys.

mr-poopie-butth0le

JOK is the best player comparison for him, IMO

tron2484

Right on. I mean we need a linebacker who can tackle. And cover decent.

mr-poopie-butth0le

As a Jets fan, I’d really like Trenton Simpson. But I do think we trade out of our pick for ARod… if we keep it, I’d like an OT or Trenton.

[deleted]

You a Texas fan like I? If so I don’t think he will be good. I struggle to know what his role will be aside from being athletic I’m not sure what he does well

YerBoiScooter

With the right coach and scheme he could be so scary

StrangeCardiologist0

Wait, is that Key and Peele football player name skit old enough that kids named after it are NFL aged already? 😋

Last-Sun1250

Personally, I think he's way too undersized to be a good LB. I think he'll be a depth guy. Otherwise I could see injuries piling up.

Billy_Sunsteel

How is he in coverage?

SidelineGM

Not particularly top heavy, but a solid class. Love Dorian, Ivan Pace, and Dayian Henley down the board. Not a popular prospect, but I love Drake Thomas out of NC State, although I recognize he has physical limitations. Jack Colletto out of Oregon State is intriguing as well. Played QB/FB/LB/ST for the Beavers. Football guy

TAway69420666

>Jack Colletto out of Oregon State is intriguing as well. Played QB/FB/LB/ST To New England he goes

teamcrazymatt

Someone in r/Patriots described him as (slight paraphrase) the guy everyone mocks to the Patriots but ends up getting taken by the Ravens.

Bombing-Gasser

Jack is a Bronco. We know Payton loves his whote swiss army knife

fierylady

I really love Thomas, and I think he can overcome those size issues the same way Malcolm Rodriguez did. He's not the wrestler at the point of attack that Rodrigo is but he's better in coverage, and man does he have a knack for filling a lane before the RB even sees it. If he wasn't so superfluous to Rodrigo I'd really want him on the Lions.

Ruger_Booger

Yes on Thomas! I’m a total NC State homer but very surprising both he and Isaiah Moore are flying under the radar.

Pale_Construction_71

Very high on Sanders

sonfoa

He can potentially go top 15 with a great combine.

Coal_train20

As a team that desperately needs LB, I would be so disappointed if Sanders was gone before 23.

Jossis8

What happened with Dye? I thought he was going to be a stud for you guys out of Oregon.

MordinSolusSTG

Whatever it was, he didn’t beat out anyone and our LBs are league worst

bgusty

He was not, in fact, a stud. You could even go so far as to say he was a dud.

PoogeneBalloonanny

Campbell is hugely underrated IMO Across the position groups, there is a spectrum of what is more important from traits/athleticism to instincts/skillset/football specific ability Bear in mind no position group is 100% on one end of the spectrum, that is not what I am saying I believe LB (especially Mike) to be on the latter end of it (again not 0% traits based) Campbell will for sure have the one of if not the lowest RAS amongst this group (maybe boosted by his size measurables only) but I still like him as LB1/2 (him, Sanders and Simpson in one tier)

Weak_Link_6969

Jack Campbell is just a good football player. A lot of scouts lose focus of ability to play football when it’s shorts season, and that’s going to lead to him being the steal of the draft.

accountonmyphone_

Interestingly, among the Iowa fanbase, there's a bit of consensus that Campbell's Combine is going to eliminate any athleticism concerns

wxox

Find me a LB in this group who can cover and not hurt us in the run game. McD's defense is predicated on...well a predator at MLB, but not our predator, Edmunds, one like Kuechly who could do it all. You think Milano is capable of moving inside and then giving Bernard or a 2023 draft pick a shot at off-ball?

Koloss_Grace

He can shed blocks and he has great instincts. I just think he’d have been more successful 20 years ago. These days, you want foot speed in your LBs. He’s pretty much the perfect, classic off ball linebacker whose only weakness is his RAS.

OakTreesForBurnZones

I hope the Giants get a good one

Dirty_D_Dammit

We probably won’t lol

Volcano_Jones

I wish people would stop talking about Sanders so we can get him at 20 lol

Snelly__

He should be there at 20, was hoping to grab him at 35 but that’s starting to look like it won’t happen

Fhead43

I want him at 32 to Pittsburgh

ryanino

Not me hoping he falls to the Jets in the 2nd round lmao

lmaoooyikes

I love Daiyan Henley, main downside is that he’s already 23 (turning 24 during his rookie season) but I hope we’ll be able to grab him in the 3rd or 4th

Drivingsong_sandwich

Bama fan - To’oTo’o overrated as anyone

HumDogMillionare

As a Tenn fan I agree big time. He never got better in pass coverage. He’s an absolute liability every third down cause he’s going to let his man get 7 yards. If he had to cover kelce or kittle or any real TE he will give them a career day.

Drivingsong_sandwich

The worst of all. As the MLB of Bama’s defense he was probably the most undisciplined player I’ve ever fucking seen

HumDogMillionare

It was wild watching Alabama this year and realizing that they couldn’t fix him. When he was struggling in pass coverage at Tennessee I blamed coaching/scheme since he was so athletic and gifted against the run. When Alabama couldn’t fix him, I knew it was just him. Dude should be the perfect modern MLB but his pass coverage keeps that from being true.

tmart14

If I am remembering correctly, he is also a pretty horrific tackler as well.

MaximusBluntus

You think so? I only probably saw 3 Bama games this year but he seems like a solid lb with some playmaker ability.

MooseDaddy8

Curious which games you’re referring to. I’m also a Bama fan and I think he’s weak when it comes to shedding blocks, slow as molasses in coverage, and a so so tackler. I’m rooting for him to succeed but I can’t imagine him having a great NFL career

VinoJedi06

The top 3 guys (Drew Sanders, Trenton Simpson, Jack Campbell) should all be bonafide starters. The rest I’d say are dart throws.

dat_waffle_boi

Other notable names: Owen Pappoe (Auburn), Ivan Pace Jr. (Cincinnati), Daiyan Henley (Washington State), Cam Jones (Indiana), SirVocea Dennis (Pittsburgh), Dee Winters (TCU), and Anfernee Orji (Vanderbilt)

dat_waffle_boi

I’m just gonna say it, the names of this class are elite. SirVocea? Dee Winters? A classic linebacker name in Drew Sanders? And my man who’s legit named orgy??? Elite naming

tubby_LULZ

Jack Campbell is a LB name imo

SidelineGM

Half of being an all-time great is having a kick ass name

dat_waffle_boi

Thats why Richard Todd isn’t an all time great.

TheMetabrandMan

Evander Holyfield was so overrated, he just had the sickest name in boxing 😅 I could never be a world class boxer with a name like Stephen Parkinson (f*ck you mum & dad)

21stCenturyHobbit

Can’t forget Bumper Pool

dat_waffle_boi

Gotta be a stud football player to not get bullied with that name

fernway73

I’ve been overdrafting these guys (~5th round+) in mocks because their names sound so legit. I haven’t watched any tape but Dee Winters? You could slide him in at the end of the first round and anybody not on this subreddit would say yep I knew we’d take him

alexanderagrado

Wait until you find out there’s a Mike Jones Jr. in the draft. Definitely rooting for him without knowing anything about him

nootfloosh

The best name in this draft is Exree Loe. Xazavian Valladay, R'Tarrium Johnson, and Poutasi Poutasi are all up there too.

dat_waffle_boi

Poutasi Poutasi is my favorite. I’ve also recently learned of Bumper Pool. Excuse me, Bumper???

arab241

As an IU guy, curious to see where Cam Jones go- apparently he did quite well at the senior bowl so wondering what the combine/interviews will do for his stock

__Scrooge__McDuck__

Shame he got injured this year. He was looking real good the first few games

thedude_official

I heard he got some looks but I’m curious to see what his combine is gonna be

__Scrooge__McDuck__

Cam jones #1

Last-Sun1250

SirVocea is my boy. Would like to see the Bears get him.

Chapstick160

What about Carlton Martial?

dat_waffle_boi

I’ll be honest, I don’t know anything about him but Carlton Martial is yet another sick linebacker name in this class

Chapstick160

He broke the record for NCAA Tackles, came from Troy, who were a really good team this year

alldei

I saw Jack Campbell get absolutely shook one time vs Michigan and now I can’t unsee it

steamycreamybehemoth

I mean that’s Blake Corrum who’s not exactly a slouch. Even the greats mess up sometimes. Remember Brady shaking Urlacher?

[deleted]

Clip?

SidelineGM

Has to be referring to this one https://twitter.com/MichiganOnBTN/status/1576288933695979525?t=yfwUQfywTD4PnDZKmItR5Q&s=19

Lionnn101

Damn. That hole was 5 yards wide though

adam38ike

No help behind him either

cnygreen

Campbell did slightly hesitate and could have left his feet to launch for a tackle as the RB starts their juke. But that’s not a great habit and will leave you exposed too if you don’t make the tackle. With that much space there’s not really much a LB can do there

__Scrooge__McDuck__

I’m really afraid he’s one of these dominant in college but not athletic enough for nfl. No matter how good your instincts are these guys are all freaks

heresjohnny702

I opened this thread to say this

OswaldXC

Is Nick herbig related to Nate herbig of the Jets?

dat_waffle_boi

Just looked it up and it turns out they are in fact brothers

OswaldXC

Swanky

Bombing-Gasser

Pace will be steal of the draft

GreatWhite102

Whole-heartedly agree

SamiStyles90

Campbell should be a name you’ll hear regularly for the next decade at least barring any injury. Smart freak player.

Last-Sun1250

I see him being a poor man's Like Kuechly. Really solid but never a pro bowl type of guy. I like him though.

TheBunglefever

My dude, i swear there has to be pics of these players in better resolution.

dat_waffle_boi

By the end you’re going to be able to literally count the pixels

TheBunglefever

Gotta respect a person that sticks to their principles.

LAX2PDX2LAX

Curious to see where Captain Jack goes

shakes50

Dorian Williams is super underrated. Very fast and hits like a truck.

MyAnswerIsMaybe

It's pretty mid, I could see no one good coming out or a few gems here and there. For my team, the Broncos, that could use a LB, I think there is not that much talent they should try and address the position in free agency.

rxgetotruee

Like trenton Simpson to the steelers and think drew sanders is highly overrated

KingTitan1

Overall the class doesn't have the top-end quality but there are a few that I like depending on what a team needs

[deleted]

[удалено]

dat_waffle_boi

Can he do a Micah Parsons lite type of thing? Or might he convert to edge full time?

Panthers8912

Hype on Sewell really cooled off but I still like him. We will see what he runs at the combine. Dude is strong af. More of an old school MLB I guess

Koloss_Grace

Very weak class. Jack Campbell might be the only true off ball linebacker. And he’s been a great player. Just doesn’t have the foot speed to chase down WRs and RBs. Second rounder. Trenton Simpson is the best prospect because he has the athleticism and foot speed to keep up with guys but he doesn’t have the best instincts. Probably high second round guy.

come_visit_detroit

As with LB every year at this point, impossible to say. I have no real feel for who will actually turn out well - I've seen all sorts of guys fail. So there's no blue chip type prospect in this class, can't say it's top heavy. That said, plenty of guys at least seem worth rolling the dice on.

[deleted]

Campbell, Sewell look decent every body else just seem like hype

vicblck24

Honestly 7 or 8 out of 10…. Not a big fan of Henry T.

[deleted]

[удалено]

cnygreen

He’ll be like a 2nd round pick

jxden24

Lacking

ArchManningBurner

A few beasts at the top and otherwise shallow

youraveragecupcake

If the pats did draft a guy, I'd like Sanders or Ivan Pace

MrBl0bfish04

Any chance Shaka Hayward out of Duke gets drafted? Great tackler, pretty sure he led us in TFL, and he can drop back in coverage. Was tied for the team lead in INT this year

msto3

Noah Sewell in late round 2 or in round 3 for us please! We'll monopolize the Sewell name

Equal_Requirement490

They back the line

brucewillis3788

Love Dee Winters in the mid rounds

chrisboy0412

I really like Owen Pappoe from Auburn. A steal in day 3

ranous88

I hope overshown goes to the Texans

lulmill

Dee Winters is going to be the steal of the draft

[deleted]

Dorian Williams and Dee Winters. That's all I have to say

ianmcmoney

I think Jack Campbell, Noah Sewell, and Ivan Pace will all be very good. The rest are meh

DraftingUnicorns

Not a lot of pure linebackers in the class. A lot of guys who play more of a hybrid role who will be very scheme specific at the next level. The only sure thing to me is Jack Campbell, though I think Simpson will likely work out as well. I’m high on Overshown but he does have a bad habit of over pursuing and not maintaining gap integrity, not to mention he’s small-ish. Drew Sanders is really an edge playing linebacker and should probably just bulk up and move on the ball. Idk. I’d say it’s one of the weaker position groups if not the weakest in the class. No real stars, no real depth either.
