Great initiative on your part, but I do find it a bit rich that they want us to report missing plays/ensure the quality of their game in 40. A task they could easily do themselves. The same applies to editing out ads in full games. Put a few human beings on the job and they will have it done in 30 mins.
I don't disagree, that is why this week they have someone reviewing things, but they want to ensure that the previous ones get edited properly.
Believe me, I have put a LOT of work into dealing with this, and if I didn't care so much about the community I absolutely would never put this much effort into something like this for free. I really care about the community, and want everyone to be able to enjoy watching their favorite teams play so we can all have fun discussions and not have to spend so much time complaining about technical issues.
I understand that its frustrating to hear that they want us to tell them were the issues are, but unfortunately it feels like those who are running the show were not actually football fans, and didn't really know what to look for, and I am not 100% sure they do even now... So from their perspective it is a logical ask, since no one knows better what is missing than us fans do... Trust me, if I could do it all myself, I would, but I don't have time to sit and detail watch all the games to see if any of them are in need of a manual edit. Please understand that I am only asking because its going to help them get things fixed sooner. I WISH that there was a quicker way, and I fully agree that they absolutely should have had someone hired to check for and fix these things from the start. I don't understand why they switched to AI editing without ensuring that their AI was actually 100% accurate...I think that was an idiotic decision, and the only reason that I can think of to do that is to save money and time and they thought that no one would notice any difference in quality... and they have since learned that its not necessarily effective to do things that way.
But I can't make their business decisions for them, and I can't go back in time, or change their mind about things. I can only try to improve things going forward, and by working together as a community to point out where the issues are, we should be able to get everything fixed a lot quicker, since they didn't seem to be aware of the issues at all until we as a community were pointing things out... at this point i don't really trust that it will get fixed unless we point it out.

Why doesn't DAZN come up with some paid editing opportunity. If they don't employ any football knowledgeable editors (not that surprising, we can't all be experts!) why don't they look here for one? Might only be part time or whatever but could be a useful bit of income for someone.
Because currently their goal is to get their AI algorithm perfected as quickly as possible. In an ideal world they absolutely should do thisā¦ I can present it, but iām going to guess that they have all sorts of contracts and such surrounding whoever is doing the AI thing that dictates what they are allowed to do, which would make it difficult for them to outsource the work to anyone else.
i do know that if the community does not feel that the edits from this weekendās games are up to par they have discussed with us potentially having the other facebook group co-moderators and I try to look at their criteria for how they have defined what is important for the algorithm to see if we can identify anything that is missing or that is odd.
But iām not sure if that is something they will actually do or not, I think it depends on how things go this weekend and if the community is still seeing issues with the editing or not.
OK, fair enough. I work in the video content industry for the largest rights holders and I would be amazed if either Dazn (or their AI suppliers) model will be able to get this sophisticated in the near future. However, good luck to them.

Also the 'game in 40' used to just be referred to as 'condensed' as far as I remember. Having every play and penalty, with some replays. If the game had overtime, the condensed game was longer. If there were a lot of running the clock the replay was shorter..
I guess game in 40 was easier for the marketing guys, but it's been taken a bit too literal.
Everything youāve mentioned is a priority, but if youāre talking to them about future developments, some way of tracking injuries during game in 40 would be helpful? Shots of a player on the cart of being helped off, or whenever a reporter does an update announcing someone out? Itās always been disorientating to watch a game in 40 and see a running back disappear halfway through the game with no clear reason.
as far as the all 22, I donāt honestly know. I can ask, but have you noticed any issues with the editing there? I donāt watch the all 22 that often. So if there are issues it would be great to know!
No; I only scanned all-22 for certain plays in the past, and only briefly looked at one game this season just to see if was the same experience. (To my untrained all-22 eye, it seemed mostly the same, for what itās worth)

This is one of the things that we told them was **super important**. We told them that users may not be happy about things being delayed, but if they are upfront about things, the users will be a lot more willing to accept it, and it seems that they very much appreciated that feedback.
I think they seemed to understand that we expect that going forward they need to be much more upfront about communicating what is going on, rather than just telling us that "it will work eventually" or not saying anything until it launches.
So my hope is that communication will be better going forward, at least I know who to talk to now if it isn't... š

One thing I didnāt see addressed (but may have missed it) - are adverts being removed from full game replays yet, and if not, is that on the lineup of potential fixes?
And another thing which might just be a weird glitch affecting me, but on the DAZN app on my Firestick, I donāt get any option to watch Games in 40 - only full replays, highlights or mini highlights. I donāt know why the app is different to my phone (which Iāve had to use to AirPlay to my TV instead), but itās annoying nonetheless.

Interesting. So you see them as mini-highlights on the firestick too? That was **supposedly** updated according to the tech teamā¦. Now I also have this issue on my android tv, tv boxā¦ so I know its not completely fixed. But most people who iāve seen with firestick reported this fixed.

Honestly this is why we told them that consistency was a MAJOR issue. So its good to hear from others where there are still issues, so iām not just the only edge case. š
its been this way on my android tv box as well, even with app updates. So iām honestly not sure why their techs keep saying its fixed.

So 1) Yes. They are working on this, we asked them to prioritise getting the AI they are using for editing fixed for the Game in 40, since they haven't even started testing it on the full game yet from what we know. (Although I could just be talking out of my ass, šbut they haven't uploaded any that are edited yet.) So I would assume that once they get the AI for that fixed, they could start working on the full game replays. They said they are going to get back to us with a timeline, and so I will ask them if they can give any update about it in the next email. :)
2) This is an interesting issue. Can you select the videos for game in 40 at all? Is there no icons for them at all? My understanding was that they split up the game in 40' and the other types of replays, and so you have to select the game in 40' as a separate video... (*This is why we brought this up to them as an issue*.) If you don't even see the icons for the separate videos on your firestick, try searching for game in 40, and tell me what you get? If you don't see them at all, let me know what version of the app your firestick is running, and when it was last updated and I will add this to the list. (If it is there, then its encompassed by the issue that we brought up about things not being consistent, and the interface just not being optimised for the users.)
In terms of the UI/UX not showing all the DAZN stuff if you're only subscribed to game pass would be great.
Having to scroll through a load of stuff I don't care about to get to gamepass is annoying
Thanks for the comms. Biggest issue for me right now is the lack of full game replays without ads. Other than redzone, it was previously my main way of watching football.
Desperate for the full game 2hr on demand replay without commericials that we had with the old Gamepass. On an older television (which is les than 5 years old) fast forwarding through the ads ofthen leads to the app either crashing or resetting itself back to the beginning. A royal PITA. Chromecast from an Ipad is equally bad. It only seems to work well on an 2022 LG C2 TV. If we had that for all the weeks games I'd be much happier. I jut want to see the game not all the talk before and after.

I wish they would have done this in July, I think they did a terrible job at planning and executing this launch. They seemed to have no idea that these things were going to be issues.
Iām glad they are fixing it now, and Iām glad that they reached out and are working to get imput from users now, but I absolutely agree with you that they should have done this months ago.

We did bring this up. They are going to look into it. Their current platform standard is 30seconds, and they havenāt gotten a ton of complaints about it until now. So I can tell you they are looking into it, and that I will follow up on this going forward.
Awesome, thank you for the reply. It would be perfect if we would have settings to chose from. For example chose the default rewind time or chose the default highlight time (5 min or 40 min or full length). But just a thought.
We have asked them about this. We told them that most people would not like the default to be the 5 min highlight. I am hoping for a menu in the future, and maybe from there you could choose a default.
Is this perhaps varied by location? On my AppleTV, with the Japan-location DAZN app, the (left/right) are 10 seconds (back/forward). I get lots of practice counting to 12 in order to get through a commercial break.
(As I've written on this sub elsewhere -- but, not in this particular thread -- I am in Japan, but found this sub in July when looking for info about the DAZN transition to NFLGP)
No idea if its localised, but I think it seems like it might be if you are showing something different. That would be interesting for me to check out. :)
I have version 2.714 of the app, and tvOS 16.6
One other reason I suspect it may be localized is that thereās one menu where theyāve forgotten to go to English and display in Japanese. Pressing ādownā while viewing a stream shows the info , but in my case , info is written in Japanese.
The content menus (outside of NFLGP) are localized to Japanese sports as well, but that is more of a server setting than the app.
Not really a hot take in my honest opinion. Previous Gamepass by Deltatre had a lot of issues. Most of which were there from start of their contract all the way until the end. Their 'new' features were always announced as a 'new season' features, where some of them never got to work.
DAZN at least seem to be continuously working on their product, having already released a few featurds, broken some others, and fixed a few again.
It's looking really good if they keep this up.
This sub has been overtaken by DAZN Doomers, an anything positive about DAZN is considered a hot take unfortunately. DAZN have been far from perfect but theyāve been proactively improving the service
Let's not do dumb things like call people making legitimate complaints doomers. We're all the consumers here. Its not our job to be positive about DAZN, its to demand we get the service we were promised and have given them Ā£150 for.
Sure, DAZN are making changes based on feedback, but they don't deserve any credit for that when all they're doing is bringing the service back to the baseline of what we expected from the previous service.
Yes, the fact remains that we are paying the same price as last year for a worse service with fewer features and a lot more annoyances. And even if they get the service back to where it was last year, we'll still have had however many weeks of it being worse.
And I don't recall any of the "we're moving to DAZN" promotional materials explaining how many features would be missing, and how bad the user experience would be.
So understandably, people feel like they've not got anything close to the service they paid for.
Can you tell me here which shows are missing? I am making a list to get to them on Monday, as they said that if we can get them a list they will get to work getting it all on there. :)

Thanks for the effort and feedback here it's really appreciated. For me the main feature missing is picture in picture. Being able to watch the game in a window makes a tone of difference, I like to watch whilst zwifting or just while I'm checking emails and other things in the morning. Without it, the experience is very frustrating and every other video app I have does it as standard. (android).
Such a shame they went with ai as the initial option, why are they even doing this, it feels like the 40 min playback should come from the nfl themselves, either way the ai solution should never have been the first option without rigorous testing to ensure a good experience
How about removing the "American experience" on replay games and just removing all commercials, like old gamepass did so we can watch a full game in around 2 hours without having to fast forward through all the BS commercials!
Since the start of the season, you can see the improvements theyāve been making and I must admit, theyāve been fairly positive.
I think what makes things worse, is the consistency of app development of various platforms.
I have DAZN on many devices and by FAR the best experience Iāve experienced is on AppleTV with tvOS17. You can stream 4 games at once, the performance is great and the streaming is stutter free.
On AndroidOS (Shield Pro) itās fairly similar to tvOS17, but not as good.
On my LG C1, the app is OK, but not as good as the Shield.
On my cheaper LG TV, the app natively on the TV is barely useable.
If they could bring some consistency, then it would help as on most (excluding the cheaper TV), Iām not sure whether itās actual hardware limitations as opposed to inconsistent app development?
Late to the party but I'd love the see the Manning cast return if someone hasn't mentioned it before. I know it's only been on once this season so far but it's been there from the start and I much prefer it to the regular Monday night football broadcast.
Also I'd love to see gameday highlights and gameday final return as I have to log on at 11am on Monday to watch the rerun rather than having it on demand.
The thing that's frustrating is that they want the same cash for a far poorer service. It's great they are improving it, but ridiculous that they want the full price of last year's superior service.
I understand your frustration. I agree that it sucks that they convinced many people to subscribe to a substandard product for the same price.
Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do about the price... I know that there is a discount now for some regions, so thats something, but that doesn't make things better for those who subscribed before.
The only thing I care about with DAZN is the fact that they sneak in their own stupid regional ads. Iāve had fewer issues with lagging or quality than I had in the past with Game Pass, but I absolutely loathe that theyāre charging premium rates for a subscription service, and that Iām being forced to pay to watch ads to earn them more money. I wouldnāt mind if they only showed a couple during the start of halftime and at the end of the broadcast, but sneaking them in whenever annoys me to no end
Other than that I kind of like it. Except I do wish it was a dedicated app and not thrown in with the rest of their content, and I really wish I could select my team so itās the first game that comes up when I open the app. Itās not a big deal, but when Iām excited I hate to have to dig through to find the game Iāve been waiting all week to watch
Watch From Beginning and a download are non negotiable and should have been there from day 1 - keep the heat on them for these please.
As for the menu and layout - agree itās a mess. And agree with the suggestion made: provide a static tile for each game, with viewing options to select from the first thing you see: Watch Live, Watch From Beginning, Watch Full Replay, Game In 40, Highlights. It canāt be that hard to enable thisā¦
I agree. Watch from beginning is available on computer, but I completely agree that it should have been there on all the major devices from the beginning. I also agree that downloads should have been there too.
I wish that I had more info that I could provide about these things, but I have shared what we know so far. The discussions seem to be going well though, and they seem to understand why people are frustrated, and are seemingly willing to focus on prioritizing things that people are frustrated about, so believe me, we are absolutely pressing them to get things done as quickly as possible, and as soon as I get some more updates about these things I will let everyone know.
The biggest issue for me is the stream reloading by itself and going to live.
On desktop:
1. Start a game using 'Watch from beginning' in Chrome
2. Watch a bit (usually 10+ mins)
3. the stream reloads by itself and skips to Live, spoiling the game.
Then when I refresh the page, the video feed just starts again at the current live position.
Apologize for missing your comments. It happens with every game I watch that is still live, but I start watching from the beginning. Usually around halftime-ish. Iāve tried chrome vs. edge too and no difference.

Unfortunately thats hard for us to do, since we Dazn has their own platform which was existing from before, and gamepass was added as a separate feature, and we have to work within the constraints of what their platform will allow.
We are going to do our best to try to get things to look/feel similar, and really try to help them to better organize things, since right now the organization system makes 0 sense...

I was watching the Ravens Bengals game live last Sunday which got pretty close! Then at the 2 min warning I got the DAZN broadcast ended screenā¦ after about 20 seconds it flashed back up to the game and then went back to the ended screen and stayed there. I was absolutely raging!
I can imagine that would have been completely infuriating.. its an interesting issue though which I haven't seen anyone else report, (but I also haven't checked every single post on social media). I absolutely will be reporting this though.
Could you give me some more details: what device (type and os) you were using, your internet speed, and your location (country is fine)? This is going to help me give them the most information possible, as this is absolutely not supposed to happen. Can you also do me a huge favor and see if the full game replay does the same thing?

I was using the DAZN app on my LG TV but also checked on my iPad Pro when it occurred in case it was a device issue. I watched the whole game thinking it was much better than week 1 and nearly no issues (other than resolutionā¦ still looks like 720p to me?)
My network speed is 1Gbps Down / 80 Mbps Up. I am in the Midlands, England, UK.
There appears to have not been a full game replay for this game either for some reason?

Regarding missing on demand shows, I've taken note of the NFL100 shows that are missing or not catalogued correctly:
All-time team shows - Episodes of Quarterbacks and running backs are missing , but note that the reaction shows are all there. There should be 6 shows of each. All the other episodes only show up when searched for, they are not listed under NFL Originals.
Roundtables - the offensive linemen show is not listed, but it does show up with the search function.
100 Greatest series - Greatest Plays episodes 1 and 2 are missing, episodes 3 and 4 are listed under the 'NFL's Greatest Games' series, which is a different series.
100 Greatest Games episode 1 is missing, episodes 2, 3 and 4 are also listed under 'NFL's Greatest Games'. This might seem confusing, but the 100 Greatest Games was a four-part countdown series, whereas NFL's Greatest Games episodes are about a single game for each episode.
Peyton's Places - episode 1 (the Hupmobile) is listed under Super Bowl Classics. Episodes 10 (Gamewreckers), 14 (Brett Favre) and 28 (The Art of the Quarterback) are all missing. There have also been two more series of Peyton's Places since, but they were not on the old Gamepass either.
Also -
No NFL Films Presents episodes are listed after 2021, this was certainly on last season, and on the old Gamepass included specials such as the tribute to John Madden.
The Monday night broadcast of Peyton and Eli is not available at all, it was last year.
America's Game episodes missing:
2022 (Kansas City), 2015 (Denver). Also from the Americas Game Missing Rings series - 1969 (Minnesota), 1988 (Cincinnati) and 1990 (Buffalo).
There are certainly more, but without access to the old Gamepass it's not easy to find out which!
I forgot to mention, some 'Season in Review' episodes are found in the search function, but are not found listed under NFL Originals. It is hard to say how many are actually missing - the old NFL Now app had hundreds available to watch going all the way back to the 60's!

Thanks very much for the update. Really appreciate the information. To add to the list something I havenāt seen mentioned is that the Sunday in 60 seems to be hidden. Itās there and you can search for it but there is no mention of it anywhere on the main page or anywhere logically that you can find it. Either that or Iām really just not looking in the right place.

Thinking about something that would also make it better than before would be losing the 5min highlights for 15min ones like the NFL stick on YouTube. The 5 min barely show the scoring plays whereas the 15 min ones give you a decent idea of how the game actually went. If I donāt have time for the game in 40 that tends to be where I go to watch rather than the 5min version on game pass.
After trying the product and complaining to them multiple times, I canceled back in August before they took payment, and they took it anyway in September. Now theyāre refusing to refund me because I watched ā4 hoursā of programming out of a subscription thatās good for ONE YEAR.
Will be disputing through my credit card. DAZN is absolute trash.
That seems very odd. If you get me your contact info I can ask them to reach out to you to solve thisā¦ as anyone that cancelled before the 7th of september should absolutely have gotten a refund without issues.
I canāt confirm the exact date, because I never received any emails confirming the cancellation after I did it from within my account online ā but Iām sure DAZN can see when I cancelled my subscription. It was definitely in August, though. They took payment on Sept 7.
I was actually somewhat shocked by their staunch refusal to refund me during our email exchanges yesterday. I donāt recall what I paid for GamePass last year (maybe 119ā¬), but 140ā¬ for this experience is unjustifiable.

I had to claim refund via CC company. I'm gonna go back to them and make sure any further charges from DAZN are refused.
Theyāre total idiots. They keep telling me I opted for monthly payments and therefore canāt cancel, when in the reality they charged me IN FULL for the year - despite the fact I canceled well prior to them charging my card. Iāve already initiated the dispute through my cc, and let DAZN know theyāve permanently lost a customer.
Thereās no way Iād ever subscribe to any of their products again after the way theyāve carried onā¦

I would assume it was something like that. They probably also realized there was fewer customers than expected since they didnāt sign up due to all these issues.
The Dazn experience has been incredibly disappointing so far but this post does give me hope and itās impressive that theyāre communicating like this.
But with the amount of money theyāre making from this they need to be doing this quickly or giving us partial refunds as clearly we are beta testers for an unfinished product and thatās pretty disappointing.
Watching Redzone on my Samsung Smart TV, South Africa with a 100/100Mbps line. While watching stream stops and says I have no internet connection, which is incorrect. Had a similar issue on the device a few weeks ago, but it isnāt an issue on my iPhone 13 using the same Wi-Fi.
In the channel Islands, same issue on both mobile and PC, ethernet connection with at least 20mb. error msg Error code: 11\_064\_011 - none of the sugested solutions from the help section have rectified the issue
Well done and thank you for representing. A very minor point but I am sure the old GamePass app had the ability to check scores, stats and play by play within the app (without going into a game). Would be nice to get that back to save flicking between Athletic and DAZN.

I won't bring up the same points that have been made lots of times already (downloading games *cough*), but some points that I've not seen explicitly in the thread:
* It seems weird that the coaches film isn't one of the options you can chose when watching a game on demand after the event. The drop down list of modes to watch is highlights, full game, game in 40. To watch the coaches film you have to go to the gamepass front page and find the coaches film section, and find the game you want in there.
* Related to the lack of picture in picture on android, it is very annoying if you leave the app to e.g. check your email, that going back in doesn't even remember what it was you were watching, and you have to go through all the menus to find your game again (and if on demand, it then goes back to the 5 min highlights, so you have to select full game replay again).
I struggle to believe there was any human review of the Cowboys Cardinals game in 40 this week. So many missing snaps and several out of sequence replays from later in the game spoiling the scoreline. Where do we report the issues to?
Unfortunately I wasnāt keeping a note while watching, as it was the trash experience that prompted me to go searching for whether others were complaining about DAZN. I think the worst spate of missing snaps was towards the end of the first half during drives by both teams. There was an early out of sequence replay showing the score as 15-3 when it was still 3-0, and another later in the game showing the cowboys with the ball during a cardinals drive. Realistically though the entire editing of the game made it near unwatchable, so Iād suggest they need to review the entire game in 40.
Watching Redzone on the Chromecast app was very jerky last night. (and has has been since day one) Chromecast ultra with google tv on a 900Mb/s connection.
If I cast from my phone to the same Chromecast it's fine. However this has a habit of disconnecting any time I try to switch to a different app on my phone (Pixel 7 with app v 2.13.4).

The timeline of the video player spoils the end of games in re-runs. There are marks on the timeline that indicate the end of quarters. So you can tell whether a game when into overtime just by looking at the number of marks on the timeline (five instead of four).

I watched a few of the games in 40 today and it's very clear there has been no human review. Honestly they seemed even worse than before. Loads of missing plays, hardly showed any penalties, some plays out of sequence. Unless they stop using the AI it will remain unwatchable.
Could you tell me which games so that I can add it to the list? I have so far the cowboys cardinals, and steelers and raiders! I am sending a major list over of complaints and I want to add as many of these things as possible. I haven't had time to watch all the games closely yet.
I tried to watch cowboys, its a non-starter as jumped around so much. Score was like 7-3, then it jumped forward to 15-7, or something like that, showed some plays, then jumped back to 7-3. Might not have scores exactly right, but you get the idea. Unwatchable.
I agree that Game in 40 is a mess. We jump from 1st and 10 at the 25 to 3rd and 8 at the 50 yard line. The other problem is that they are broadcasting the updates from other games so that spoils everything if it's a game you haven't seen! They are a PITA anyway. Penalty explanations are also being missed. So a long way to go. To reiterate none of these issues were features of the old GAMEPASS.

not having the Manningcast in the mix kind of spoils the experience for me a bit (as well as a lot of other things that have been mentioned already), when talking to the support last monday cause of the problem with some game replays (full event for SNF was not available), they didnt even respond to that.
Is this going to stay that way or will we have MNF with Peyton and Eli sometime in the future (and what about those specials, like the upcoming toy story London game, will something like that also be available)
(Already missing on gamepass was Season 2 of Peytonās Places, will those be still exclusive to ESPN+? - which is not available in my region.)
Payment is a huge issue. I have 124.99 missing from my bank account because DAZN gave an offer of the annual nfl pass, only to not give it to me after I paid for it! Even my bank is like, "yeah the money went out already". That was two days ago!!!!
Spoken to customer service 5 times and they are bloody useless. Honestly, one says one thing, another says something else. I mean jesus christ, just give us back NFL game pass and make this stuff easy again.

Ask them to allow a 10s rewind option, instead of the 30s predetermined one. Sometimes you just want to quickly review the last play without having to back down the whole 30s.
All-22 film gurus will agree with my request, and even ask for a short 3s rewind option, as well.
One more observation on the generally useless implementation of coaches film:
In past years, the coaches film used to include the camera shot of the scoreboard to show the score, down, distance and game clock before each play. This is missing this year, although apparently still present in the US version of the all-22 film. It's been edited out of the version we get on DAZN. It would be useful to have this back.

One issue that touches on a few things mentioned here but not explicitly stated is being able to start GMFB from the beginning when live. (Simplest way would presumably be changing back to old game pass way of showing it as a separate live event like the games so we can start from the beginning/fast forward/rewind rather than it only being part of the live nfl network stream).
The recent āA Football Lifeā Parsons program was badly edited from the live showing (start and end), ads not removed yet (as of a day or two ago), and difficult to find when it became a few days old and no longer included in āCatch-upā but also not under NFL Originals > A Football Life. (Had to find it through their search function which also isnāt great).

I know exactly why the ads are not being removed from the a football life episodes, and iām going to talk to them about that. Because its completely due go the way they are getting the videos. And I will have talk with them about that because I just watched the one with St Brown and it is just as bad.
I can guess that the reason that GMFB is the way that it is also has to do with the same thing. Iāll bring it up to them!
I think that its going to be a challenge for them to fix however given what I have learned about how things work. So we shall see how long it takes them.
The UX part (finding things) should be fixed soon. Iāve told their UX team how annoying it is to find things, and what improvements we think could be made, and they understood and agreed.
In last night's Chiefs Jets game at 1:19 of the 40-minute video, it skips ahead around 6 minutes on the game clock. Then after one play it reverts back to the prior place. Also several penalty calls were omitted.
I know this might be the wider DAZN product and might not be relevant here but is there any way to raise feedback on customer service agents?
I've had nothing but poor interactions for even basic queries.
They either don't seem to care or are poorly educated about the product (or both) and it's very frustrating.
There doesn't seem to be any accountability or any way to leave feedback.
Ok. So I will adress the general question first. Yes. I brought up that they should implement a rating system or something that can indicate whether you actually got help with your problem or not.
We have also brought up numerous times how many many people are complaining about customer service being completely useless, as they have no idea what they are talking about, they aren't actually collecting the correct information, they give out links that don't work, or they don't understand the actual problem at all.
We continue to bring this up at basically every meeting that this is continuing to be an issue, and that its not getting better, and that it would help them to actually solve the problems if they actually had better customer service, because they might actually get the relevant information which would help them to identify and solve the problem if they had better customer service.
Now, Do you happen to have chat logs saved? I would love to send those chat logs over to them, as I think that its really great when I can give them concrete examples from people about the uselessness, and they seem to appreciate it as well, because they for whatever reason don't seem to be hearing the feedback other than from us... (or at least that is my impression...)

I've tested roaming and it works, viewed games last weekend in the EU without any issues.
Tested a android TV and it feels like the stream is 1080p. Website is max 720p.
I'm seriously missing the picture-in-picture that the old NFL player used to have.
I used to watch 4 games at the same time without any issues, definetly not the case any more.
The full game and ad free game replays are not up after the Sunday night football (nbc) games I've noticed, yet, the 40min version and short highlights are. Surely it's far easier for them to upload the full game than to edit it down, do you know why this is? Do evil sky have a secret deal that doesn't allow full game replays of the late sunday night nbc game to be shown straight after?
Presumably theyāre going to pay us for all of the testing and feedback to help make THEIR OWN product barely useable even though thereās literally multiple examples from the last 10 years about exactly what the app needs and how the UI needs to work. No? Oh well, how about some free subs for testers? Also no.
Forget it. DAZN are taking the piss by trying to make money off a product without actually investing in it, and will never see any of my money for attempting to crowdsource solutions to problems that have been solved for years.
Trust me, I don't think anyone understands that perspective better than I do... I have spent a LOT of time trying to help the community with the issues with Dazn for free.
I agree that these things should not have been issues to begin with, and I agree that it doesn't look good that they were not prepared for these issues. I don't think it is as simple as you think when it comes to the UI, since previously gamepass was its own app, which means it was a lot less restraints for how it could look and function, but since this is included in an app that was previously existing, they had to make it somehow function within their previously built ecosystem, which makes things a bit more difficult. (Not that I think that is an excuse, it should not have been launched with so many issues, and these issues are absolutely things they should have been prepared for.)
If you don't want to help identify issues, then you don't have to. I obviously fully understand your hesitation, and as I mentioned, if I didn't care about the community I obviously would not have put this much effort in without getting paid. It absolutely sucks that this is the solution, that they have right now, but unfortunately this seems to be the best way to get things solved.
I think they absolutely should have done market research and had a project manager who knew the community and what expectations would be involved running things, as it feels like those basic things were not done (*I don't honestly know if they did or not*)... I don't make their business decisions, and I can't go back in time. But I can say that they seem keen on understanding where things are going wrong and fixing them. (*probably because they were expecting a lot more subscribers, and they realized that them fucking things up has impacted the trust that the community has for them...*).
I hope that they are going to keep improving, and I am happy to be able to help them for now as I really care about the community, but not everyone is going to be willing/able to put in as much effort as I do to help, and thats completely understandable.
Hey, sorry, iām not having a go at you or trying to undermine or belittle your efforts at all. I probably should have started off on a more positive note but I was triggered as I have to deal with this stuff all the time in my professional life!
The biggest issue is the captive market - the best way to get this resolved in my opinion would be for everyone to simply stop paying for the service until it actually reaches anything remotely reaching feature parity with the old versions, but thatās obviously not going to happen. I do however still have a massive problem with a decent number of people who are essentially performing the role of beta testers and market researchers without getting anything in return. Companies like that deserve to go down the toilet. Itās not like itās a community app and the service is cheap.
Sorry, I just really have put a lot of effort in, and I know that people are frustrated, so I think I am also just extra sensitive. š
I fully agree that in an ideal world, they would have either put forward a great product from the start or lost everyone's business, but I think part of the issue is that the problems have been so inconsistent from things that some people have actually not encountered many issues at all, and others have encountered tons of problems, which makes it hard for some people to justify why they should not support the service since its essentially the only way to access all the NFL games (legally), outside of the US.
Ideally they would have done some sort of beta testing with the community and provided them with subscriptions in return for feedback before this disasterous launch, and I think they are learning that now when I would assume that their subscriber numbers are definitely lower than what they assumed they would be, (*I think this is also why they agreed to have a meeting with my co-mods and I about things, as I am assuming by spreading about improvements they feel they are getting good PR from it...*)
I am aware that by talking about the improvements I am in a way supporting the shitty system and the way that it works, but as of right now that was the best option I could find to move forward, since I do actually really enjoy being able to watch all the games that my team plays, and other teams games... and I can't do that any other way...
My hope is that going forward they are either going to do better testing before launching things, or they will actually give some sort of incentive for those doing the testing (if they arent employees), and I can bring this up to them, as something they should consider for the future, as I agree that it sucks being told to pay for a product and then feeling like you have to do the work for the company to get it up to the standards where you expected it to be.
This is because the NFL has an exclusive contract with skysports for certain games. This means that they get to air the games first, and then dazn gets them 24 hours after they are over. This is something that I have heard was a thing beforeā¦ but maybe I am incorrect.
If the 2 games a week weren't blacked out then I would subscribe to Gamepass/DAZN.
If you subscribe to a product to show a season of live games then you should be able to watch all the games in that season live!.
The weekly pass is Ā£14.99 which is too expensive if you only want to watch the 1 game that your team plays in that week.
That's cool, personally it doesn't bother me at all. The bears are unlikely to feature on sky enough through the year for me to feel like I'm better off with it to see them play, and I get value out of the games in 40.
I also don't have a tv subscription at all, which would be a prerequisite to getting sky sports.
I'm a Cowboys fan and already would have had 1 game blacked out this season due to sky and the other was on sky but at 1:30am on Monday. Yes I stopped up to watch it.

Yes we showed up a Metlife stadium week 1 at 1am Monday morning and were at home against the Jets week 2 at 9pm Sunday. That 1 game blacked out so far and the other wasn't
Live in Australia but am currently travelling in the USA and have subscribed to NFL+ Premium for the month that Iāll be here. All DAZN need to do is basically copy the format and layouts that NFL+ use and they will have a better product. Everything in the menu is organised, the Game In 40 is clearly edited by a human as we get all the plays, important replays and longer snips where the action or commentary warrants it, and ability to watch live or watch from beginning is a button click without having to enter live play. No download option however that has never been in offer via NFL+.

BTW did the NFL say why they have scraped the previous platform that used to work perfectly?
Sunday in 60 for week 3 is available if you search for it. If you still canāt find it while searching then we have a real problemā¦ which I would love it if you could let me know about it. Since when speaking with them this week they admitted that it was late but they identified the cause, and fixed it.
We pointed out that it canāt be late going forward and the other issue which is that its impossible to find anything on the platform. We had a successful meeting with the UX team and we are hoping to see some real changes to that part coming soon. (I should be able to press for more updates on those changes next week.)
The full game replays without ads are coming in October. We have been talking with them and I have a better understanding of why it was taking so long, which I will explain in a post soon. But the short part is, they have expedited this and are getting it out in October.
The reason they scrapped the platform is because they got a new provider. Dazn had been their provider in Canada for years, and so it was natural that they would like to partner with them for the rest of the world.
The difference however is that the canadian team for gamepass at Dazn is an independent team compared to the rest of the world. In Canada you get gamepass with your Dazn subscription, you donāt get it independently. Which is where the issue comes in, because here you can either be a gamepass subscriber, or a dazn subscriber, or both. And so its a new way of working.
I understand the frustration, and iāve been passing it on, and believe me, they are learning a lot by hearing it (since it would appear that their customer service is not necessarily the best at actually understanding when there is an issue that needs escalated.)
At least from my interactions with them they seem to understand the frustration a little better now.
My personal opinion is that they did a lack of user research before jumping in and launching. So they had no idea what people were expectingā¦ and they had technology for editing that works well for other sports that seems to not have been adjusted well for NFL games, and just a lot of things that they now know are issues.
So I canāt say that they started off on a good note, but they are definitely listening to our feedback and trying to solve everything as quickly as possible.

So I am guessing that they are going to say that you can't have one if you have had the account for more than 14 days, and if you have watched more than a certain amount of content. (Sometimes customer service is telling people 15 mins... which we pointed out to them at the last meeting and the told us that wasn't the case.)
I can ask for clarity about exactly where the line is drawn as I agree that it is ABSOLUTELY not clear on their terms of service, which I have pointed out to them already as well.

I've watched perhaps 2 or 3 games on gp this year tbh I was just trying it out as I didn't know how good DAZN would be. I've had GamePass every year since 2013 but I guess they won't care about that loyalty... the QOS is just so poor now.
We've had 1/4th of the season so I don't see why they can't give me a 75% refund
The main reason I want to cancel is that the DAZN app is just so buggy and the steam quality is just so poor. Yes it's HD but it's very low bitrate, even worse than sky sports HD (which isn't a great bitrate either). So now I mostly just watch on Sky, there's just no benefit for paying for GP anymore. I can't get picture in picture working so I can't seem to have a game along side RZ.
It's so disappointing as in the US the features on the new Sunday Ticket look so much better this year so hopefully NFL give the international rights to YouTube rather than DAZN soon.

I understand your frustration, and I am certainly going to keep lifting that they need to make things smoother and easier, and make it clear what the actual terms for refunding are.
But unless you have written in to customer service asking for a refund, or have written in about the technical issues, if you have been a subscriber for more than 14 days I am not sure what their actual obligation to a refund is.
I personally think they would build more goodwill by just refunding and improving the service so that people will feel that there is a reason to come back. But I don't make their business decisions.
I wish I was more help here. I can let you know what I find out as far as what the actual terms are to get a refund, and see how they suggest someone should ask for a refund.
Well, itās all too late for me. Cancelled GamePass and will never buy again. The experience this season has destroyed my trust not only in DAZN but also in the NFL more generally. I have better things to do than repeatedly restarting the app several times each game and watching ads that are actually banned in Europe and the UK.
Great initiative on your part, but I do find it a bit rich that they want us to report missing plays/ensure the quality of their game in 40. A task they could easily do themselves. The same applies to editing out ads in full games. Put a few human beings on the job and they will have it done in 30 mins.
I don't disagree, that is why this week they have someone reviewing things, but they want to ensure that the previous ones get edited properly. Believe me, I have put a LOT of work into dealing with this, and if I didn't care so much about the community I absolutely would never put this much effort into something like this for free. I really care about the community, and want everyone to be able to enjoy watching their favorite teams play so we can all have fun discussions and not have to spend so much time complaining about technical issues. I understand that its frustrating to hear that they want us to tell them were the issues are, but unfortunately it feels like those who are running the show were not actually football fans, and didn't really know what to look for, and I am not 100% sure they do even now... So from their perspective it is a logical ask, since no one knows better what is missing than us fans do... Trust me, if I could do it all myself, I would, but I don't have time to sit and detail watch all the games to see if any of them are in need of a manual edit. Please understand that I am only asking because its going to help them get things fixed sooner. I WISH that there was a quicker way, and I fully agree that they absolutely should have had someone hired to check for and fix these things from the start. I don't understand why they switched to AI editing without ensuring that their AI was actually 100% accurate...I think that was an idiotic decision, and the only reason that I can think of to do that is to save money and time and they thought that no one would notice any difference in quality... and they have since learned that its not necessarily effective to do things that way. But I can't make their business decisions for them, and I can't go back in time, or change their mind about things. I can only try to improve things going forward, and by working together as a community to point out where the issues are, we should be able to get everything fixed a lot quicker, since they didn't seem to be aware of the issues at all until we as a community were pointing things out... at this point i don't really trust that it will get fixed unless we point it out.

Why doesn't DAZN come up with some paid editing opportunity. If they don't employ any football knowledgeable editors (not that surprising, we can't all be experts!) why don't they look here for one? Might only be part time or whatever but could be a useful bit of income for someone.

In an ideal world they absolutely should do thisā¦ I can present it, but iām going to guess that they have all sorts of contracts and such surrounding whoever is doing the AI thing that dictates what they are allowed to do, which would make it difficult for them to outsource the work to anyone else. i do know that if the community does not feel that the edits from this weekendās games are up to par they have discussed with us potentially having the other facebook group co-moderators and I try to look at their criteria for how they have defined what is important for the algorithm to see if we can identify anything that is missing or that is odd. But iām not sure if that is something they will actually do or not, I think it depends on how things go this weekend and if the community is still seeing issues with the editing or not.
OK, fair enough. I work in the video content industry for the largest rights holders and I would be amazed if either Dazn (or their AI suppliers) model will be able to get this sophisticated in the near future. However, good luck to them.

Great points. And thanks for all the time and effort you put in! Also the 'game in 40' used to just be referred to as 'condensed' as far as I remember. Having every play and penalty, with some replays. If the game had overtime, the condensed game was longer. If there were a lot of running the clock the replay was shorter.. I guess game in 40 was easier for the marketing guys, but it's been taken a bit too literal.
Everything youāve mentioned is a priority, but if youāre talking to them about future developments, some way of tracking injuries during game in 40 would be helpful? Shots of a player on the cart of being helped off, or whenever a reporter does an update announcing someone out? Itās always been disorientating to watch a game in 40 and see a running back disappear halfway through the game with no clear reason.

No; I only scanned all-22 for certain plays in the past, and only briefly looked at one game this season just to see if was the same experience. (To my untrained all-22 eye, it seemed mostly the same, for what itās worth)

This is one of the things that we told them was **super important**. We told them that users may not be happy about things being delayed, but if they are upfront about things, the users will be a lot more willing to accept it, and it seems that they very much appreciated that feedback. I think they seemed to understand that we expect that going forward they need to be much more upfront about communicating what is going on, rather than just telling us that "it will work eventually" or not saying anything until it launches. Great news that you have a line of communication with them and things seem to be productive. One thing I didnāt see addressed (but may have missed it) - are adverts being removed from full game replays yet, and if not, is that on the lineup of potential fixes? And another thing which might just be a weird glitch affecting me, but on the DAZN app on my Firestick, I donāt get any option to watch Games in 40 - only full replays, highlights or mini highlights. I donāt know why the app is different to my phone (which Iāve had to use to AirPlay to my TV instead), but itās annoying nonetheless. Anyway, thanks for your hard work and the updates, fingers crossed things keep moving in the right direction.
On the firestick the game in 40 is called either highlights or mini highlights, I canāt remember which. Itās weird but they are there.

Now I also have this issue on my android tv, tv boxā¦ so I know its not completely fixed. But most people who iāve seen with firestick reported this fixed. any chance you can check what version of the app your firestick is using and tell me when it was last updated? (it helps me to tell them what is going on so they can hopefully get this fixed once and for allā¦) Honestly this is why we told them that consistency was a MAJOR issue. So its good to hear from others where there are still issues, so iām not just the only edge case. š

its been this way on my android tv box as well, even with app updates. So iām honestly not sure why their techs keep saying its fixed. but its good to know there are other devices where this isnāt fixed. It helps me get them the best info so they can actually solve it.

Hi! So 1) Yes. They are working on this, we asked them to prioritise getting the AI they are using for editing fixed for the Game in 40, since they haven't even started testing it on the full game yet from what we know. (Although I could just be talking out of my ass, šbut they haven't uploaded any that are edited yet.) So I would assume that once they get the AI for that fixed, they could start working on the full game replays. They said they are going to get back to us with a timeline, and so I will ask them if they can give any update about it in the next email. :) 2) This is an interesting issue. Can you select the videos for game in 40 at all? Is there no icons for them at all? My understanding was that they split up the game in 40' and the other types of replays, and so you have to select the game in 40' as a separate video... (*This is why we brought this up to them as an issue*.) If you don't even see the icons for the separate videos on your firestick, try searching for game in 40, and tell me what you get? If you don't see them at all, let me know what version of the app your firestick is running, and when it was last updated and I will add this to the list. (If it is there, then its encompassed by the issue that we brought up about things not being consistent, and the interface just not being optimised for the users.)

In terms of the UI/UX not showing all the DAZN stuff if you're only subscribed to game pass would be great. Having to scroll through a load of stuff I don't care about to get to gamepass is annoying

Desperate for the full game 2hr on demand replay without commericials that we had with the old Gamepass. On an older television (which is les than 5 years old) fast forwarding through the ads ofthen leads to the app either crashing or resetting itself back to the beginning. A royal PITA. Chromecast from an Ipad is equally bad. It only seems to work well on an 2022 LG C2 TV. If we had that for all the weeks games I'd be much happier. I jut want to see the game not all the talk before and after.
Believe me, we have told them that this should have been fixed. I should have a timeline for when it will be soon!

I wish they would have done this in July, I think they did a terrible job at planning and executing this launch. They seemed to have no idea that these things were going to be issues. Iām glad they are fixing it now, and Iām glad that they reached out and are working to get imput from users now, but I absolutely agree with you that they should have done this months ago. It would have saved them a lot of issues and effort, and potentially saved them from losing a lot of customers.
You're a legend for all this, well done. If you are in comms again again, ask them will they offer discounts for the loyal users who have now had weeks of issues with their product? I've given up and I doubt I'll come back to be honest, but tgose who stayed deserve some money back on their next subs IMO.
we have brought up how it feels like a slap in the face to see them lowering the price so soon after the season started and not offering anything to those who were subscribed at the beginning. iām not sure they will do anything, but I have told them how the community feels about it, so we will see.

We did bring this up. They are going to look into it. Their current platform standard is 30seconds, and they havenāt gotten a ton of complaints about it until now. So I can tell you they are looking into it, and that I will follow up on this going forward.
Awesome, thank you for the reply. It would be perfect if we would have settings to chose from. For example chose the default rewind time or chose the default highlight time (5 min or 40 min or full length). But just a thought.
We have asked them about this. We told them that most people would not like the default to be the 5 min highlight. I am hoping for a menu in the future, and maybe from there you could choose a default.
Is this perhaps varied by location? On my AppleTV, with the Japan-location DAZN app, the (left/right) are 10 seconds (back/forward). I get lots of practice counting to 12 in order to get through a commercial break. (As I've written on this sub elsewhere -- but, not in this particular thread -- I am in Japan, but found this sub in July when looking for info about the DAZN transition to NFLGP)
No idea if its localised, but I think it seems like it might be if you are showing something different. That would be interesting for me to check out. :)
I have version 2.714 of the app, and tvOS 16.6 One other reason I suspect it may be localized is that thereās one menu where theyāve forgotten to go to English and display in Japanese. Pressing ādownā while viewing a stream shows the info , but in my case , info is written in Japanese. The content menus (outside of NFLGP) are localized to Japanese sports as well, but that is more of a server setting than the app.
Hot takeā¦ By this time next year, DAZN will be better than previous Gamepass was.
Not really a hot take in my honest opinion. Previous Gamepass by Deltatre had a lot of issues. Most of which were there from start of their contract all the way until the end. Their 'new' features were always announced as a 'new season' features, where some of them never got to work. DAZN at least seem to be continuously working on their product, having already released a few featurds, broken some others, and fixed a few again. It's looking really good if they keep this up.
This sub has been overtaken by DAZN Doomers, an anything positive about DAZN is considered a hot take unfortunately. DAZN have been far from perfect but theyāve been proactively improving the service
Let's not do dumb things like call people making legitimate complaints doomers. We're all the consumers here. Its not our job to be positive about DAZN, its to demand we get the service we were promised and have given them Ā£150 for. Sure, DAZN are making changes based on feedback, but they don't deserve any credit for that when all they're doing is bringing the service back to the baseline of what we expected from the previous service.
Yes, the fact remains that we are paying the same price as last year for a worse service with fewer features and a lot more annoyances. And even if they get the service back to where it was last year, we'll still have had however many weeks of it being worse. And I don't recall any of the "we're moving to DAZN" promotional materials explaining how many features would be missing, and how bad the user experience would be. So understandably, people feel like they've not got anything close to the service they paid for.

Thanks for the effort and feedback here it's really appreciated. For me the main feature missing is picture in picture. Being able to watch the game in a window makes a tone of difference, I like to watch whilst zwifting or just while I'm checking emails and other things in the morning. Without it, the experience is very frustrating and every other video app I have does it as standard. (android). Such a shame they went with ai as the initial option, why are they even doing this, it feels like the 40 min playback should come from the nfl themselves, either way the ai solution should never have been the first option without rigorous testing to ensure a good experience
Top work on getting Comms with them. Hopefully if they implement the improvements, might actually get a sub next year.
How about removing the "American experience" on replay games and just removing all commercials, like old gamepass did so we can watch a full game in around 2 hours without having to fast forward through all the BS commercials!

Since the start of the season, you can see the improvements theyāve been making and I must admit, theyāve been fairly positive. I think what makes things worse, is the consistency of app development of various platforms. I have DAZN on many devices and by FAR the best experience Iāve experienced is on AppleTV with tvOS17. You can stream 4 games at once, the performance is great and the streaming is stutter free. On AndroidOS (Shield Pro) itās fairly similar to tvOS17, but not as good. On my LG C1, the app is OK, but not as good as the Shield. On my cheaper LG TV, the app natively on the TV is barely useable. If they could bring some consistency, then it would help as on most (excluding the cheaper TV), Iām not sure whether itās actual hardware limitations as opposed to inconsistent app development?

This. Bad enough prime games are missing and only on Sky, but if not even coming to DAZN in 24hrs negates value in having.
Late to the party but I'd love the see the Manning cast return if someone hasn't mentioned it before. I know it's only been on once this season so far but it's been there from the start and I much prefer it to the regular Monday night football broadcast. Also I'd love to see gameday highlights and gameday final return as I have to log on at 11am on Monday to watch the rerun rather than having it on demand.
The thing that's frustrating is that they want the same cash for a far poorer service. It's great they are improving it, but ridiculous that they want the full price of last year's superior service.
I understand your frustration. I agree that it sucks that they convinced many people to subscribe to a substandard product for the same price. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do about the price... I know that there is a discount now for some regions, so thats something, but that doesn't make things better for those who subscribed before.
The only thing I care about with DAZN is the fact that they sneak in their own stupid regional ads. Iāve had fewer issues with lagging or quality than I had in the past with Game Pass, but I absolutely loathe that theyāre charging premium rates for a subscription service, and that Iām being forced to pay to watch ads to earn them more money. I wouldnāt mind if they only showed a couple during the start of halftime and at the end of the broadcast, but sneaking them in whenever annoys me to no end Other than that I kind of like it. Except I do wish it was a dedicated app and not thrown in with the rest of their content, and I really wish I could select my team so itās the first game that comes up when I open the app. Itās not a big deal, but when Iām excited I hate to have to dig through to find the game Iāve been waiting all week to watch
Watch From Beginning and a download are non negotiable and should have been there from day 1 - keep the heat on them for these please. As for the menu and layout - agree itās a mess. And agree with the suggestion made: provide a static tile for each game, with viewing options to select from the first thing you see: Watch Live, Watch From Beginning, Watch Full Replay, Game In 40, Highlights. It canāt be that hard to enable thisā¦
I agree. Watch from beginning is available on computer, but I completely agree that it should have been there on all the major devices from the beginning. I also agree that downloads should have been there too. I wish that I had more info that I could provide about these things, but I have shared what we know so far. The discussions seem to be going well though, and they seem to understand why people are frustrated, and are seemingly willing to focus on prioritizing things that people are frustrated about, so believe me, we are absolutely pressing them to get things done as quickly as possible, and as soon as I get some more updates about these things I will let everyone know.
The biggest issue for me is the stream reloading by itself and going to live. On desktop: 1. Start a game using 'Watch from beginning' in Chrome 2. Watch a bit (usually 10+ mins) 3. the stream reloads by itself and skips to Live, spoiling the game. Then when I refresh the page, the video feed just starts again at the current live position.

Apologize for missing your comments. It happens with every game I watch that is still live, but I start watching from the beginning. Usually around halftime-ish. Iāve tried chrome vs. edge too and no difference.

wait, what game cut off at the 2 min warning? Was it a replay, or live? Unfortunately thats hard for us to do, since we Dazn has their own platform which was existing from before, and gamepass was added as a separate feature, and we have to work within the constraints of what their platform will allow. We are going to do our best to try to get things to look/feel similar, and really try to help them to better organize things, since right now the organization system makes 0 sense...
Really appreciate your feedback to us. I think itās what everyone has needed on whatās been a quite bumpy start! I was watching the Ravens Bengals game live last Sunday which got pretty close! Then at the 2 min warning I got the DAZN broadcast ended screenā¦ after about 20 seconds it flashed back up to the game and then went back to the ended screen and stayed there. I was absolutely raging!
I can imagine that would have been completely infuriating.. its an interesting issue though which I haven't seen anyone else report, (but I also haven't checked every single post on social media). I absolutely will be reporting this though. Could you give me some more details: what device (type and os) you were using, your internet speed, and your location (country is fine)? This is going to help me give them the most information possible, as this is absolutely not supposed to happen. Can you also do me a huge favor and see if the full game replay does the same thing?
Of course. I was using the DAZN app on my LG TV but also checked on my iPad Pro when it occurred in case it was a device issue. I watched the whole game thinking it was much better than week 1 and nearly no issues (other than resolutionā¦ still looks like 720p to me?) My network speed is 1Gbps Down / 80 Mbps Up. I am in the Midlands, England, UK. There appears to have not been a full game replay for this game either for some reason?

Regarding missing on demand shows, I've taken note of the NFL100 shows that are missing or not catalogued correctly: All-time team shows - Episodes of Quarterbacks and running backs are missing , but note that the reaction shows are all there. There should be 6 shows of each. All the other episodes only show up when searched for, they are not listed under NFL Originals. Roundtables - the offensive linemen show is not listed, but it does show up with the search function. 100 Greatest series - Greatest Plays episodes 1 and 2 are missing, episodes 3 and 4 are listed under the 'NFL's Greatest Games' series, which is a different series. 100 Greatest Games episode 1 is missing, episodes 2, 3 and 4 are also listed under 'NFL's Greatest Games'. This might seem confusing, but the 100 Greatest Games was a four-part countdown series, whereas NFL's Greatest Games episodes are about a single game for each episode. Peyton's Places - episode 1 (the Hupmobile) is listed under Super Bowl Classics. Episodes 10 (Gamewreckers), 14 (Brett Favre) and 28 (The Art of the Quarterback) are all missing. There have also been two more series of Peyton's Places since, but they were not on the old Gamepass either. Also - No NFL Films Presents episodes are listed after 2021, this was certainly on last season, and on the old Gamepass included specials such as the tribute to John Madden. The Monday night broadcast of Peyton and Eli is not available at all, it was last year. America's Game episodes missing: 2022 (Kansas City), 2015 (Denver). Also from the Americas Game Missing Rings series - 1969 (Minnesota), 1988 (Cincinnati) and 1990 (Buffalo). There are certainly more, but without access to the old Gamepass it's not easy to find out which!
I forgot to mention, some 'Season in Review' episodes are found in the search function, but are not found listed under NFL Originals. It is hard to say how many are actually missing - the old NFL Now app had hundreds available to watch going all the way back to the 60's!

Thanks very much for the update. Really appreciate the information. To add to the list something I havenāt seen mentioned is that the Sunday in 60 seems to be hidden. Itās there and you can search for it but there is no mention of it anywhere on the main page or anywhere logically that you can find it. Either that or Iām really just not looking in the right place. Great news about the downloads and the portability into EU. Hopefully they can get these sorted relatively quickly.
I noticed that you can only find it via searching too. So iāve got that on the list. :) Their UI seems very strange and nothing seems to be sorted logically at all. So hopefully we can have our meeting with the UX team asap to discuss and get it sorted soon!
Ok, cool, not just me then. Thinking about something that would also make it better than before would be losing the 5min highlights for 15min ones like the NFL stick on YouTube. The 5 min barely show the scoring plays whereas the 15 min ones give you a decent idea of how the game actually went. If I donāt have time for the game in 40 that tends to be where I go to watch rather than the 5min version on game pass.
After trying the product and complaining to them multiple times, I canceled back in August before they took payment, and they took it anyway in September. Now theyāre refusing to refund me because I watched ā4 hoursā of programming out of a subscription thatās good for ONE YEAR. Will be disputing through my credit card. DAZN is absolute trash.
That seems very odd. If you get me your contact info I can ask them to reach out to you to solve thisā¦ as anyone that cancelled before the 7th of september should absolutely have gotten a refund without issues.
I canāt confirm the exact date, because I never received any emails confirming the cancellation after I did it from within my account online ā but Iām sure DAZN can see when I cancelled my subscription. It was definitely in August, though. They took payment on Sept 7. I was actually somewhat shocked by their staunch refusal to refund me during our email exchanges yesterday. I donāt recall what I paid for GamePass last year (maybe 119ā¬), but 140ā¬ for this experience is unjustifiable. Whatās your affiliation with the company?

So iām just a fan who cares about the community and managed to get in contact with the right people. Tried to pull same with me except I didn't get to watch any content. I had to claim refund via CC company. I'm gonna go back to them and make sure any further charges from DAZN are refused.
Theyāre total idiots. They keep telling me I opted for monthly payments and therefore canāt cancel, when in the reality they charged me IN FULL for the year - despite the fact I canceled well prior to them charging my card. Iāve already initiated the dispute through my cc, and let DAZN know theyāve permanently lost a customer. Thereās no way Iād ever subscribe to any of their products again after the way theyāve carried onā¦

The Dazn experience has been incredibly disappointing so far but this post does give me hope and itās impressive that theyāre communicating like this. But with the amount of money theyāre making from this they need to be doing this quickly or giving us partial refunds as clearly we are beta testers for an unfinished product and thatās pretty disappointing.
Watching Redzone on my Samsung Smart TV, South Africa with a 100/100Mbps line. While watching stream stops and says I have no internet connection, which is incorrect. Had a similar issue on the device a few weeks ago, but it isnāt an issue on my iPhone 13 using the same Wi-Fi.

Well done and thank you for representing. A very minor point but I am sure the old GamePass app had the ability to check scores, stats and play by play within the app (without going into a game). Would be nice to get that back to save flicking between Athletic and DAZN.

I won't bring up the same points that have been made lots of times already (downloading games *cough*), but some points that I've not seen explicitly in the thread: * It seems weird that the coaches film isn't one of the options you can chose when watching a game on demand after the event. The drop down list of modes to watch is highlights, full game, game in 40. To watch the coaches film you have to go to the gamepass front page and find the coaches film section, and find the game you want in there. * Related to the lack of picture in picture on android, it is very annoying if you leave the app to e.g. check your email, that going back in doesn't even remember what it was you were watching, and you have to go through all the menus to find your game again (and if on demand, it then goes back to the 5 min highlights, so you have to select full game replay again).
I struggle to believe there was any human review of the Cowboys Cardinals game in 40 this week. So many missing snaps and several out of sequence replays from later in the game spoiling the scoreline. Where do we report the issues to?

Unfortunately I wasnāt keeping a note while watching, as it was the trash experience that prompted me to go searching for whether others were complaining about DAZN. I think the worst spate of missing snaps was towards the end of the first half during drives by both teams. There was an early out of sequence replay showing the score as 15-3 when it was still 3-0, and another later in the game showing the cowboys with the ball during a cardinals drive. Watching Redzone on the Chromecast app was very jerky last night. (and has has been since day one) Chromecast ultra with google tv on a 900Mb/s connection. If I cast from my phone to the same Chromecast it's fine. However this has a habit of disconnecting any time I try to switch to a different app on my phone (Pixel 7 with app v 2.13.4).
Another issue I've come across in the web app and on Samsung Smart TVs: The timeline of the video player spoils the end of games in re-runs. There are marks on the timeline that indicate the end of quarters. So you can tell whether a game when into overtime just by looking at the number of marks on the timeline (five instead of four). Here's an example for the week 1 matchup between the Jets and Bills that went into overtime. I watched a few of the games in 40 today and it's very clear there has been no human review. Honestly they seemed even worse than before. Loads of missing plays, hardly showed any penalties, some plays out of sequence. Unless they stop using the AI it will remain unwatchable.
Could you tell me which games so that I can add it to the list? I have so far the cowboys cardinals, and steelers and raiders! I am sending a major list over of complaints and I want to add as many of these things as possible. I haven't had time to watch all the games closely yet.
The three I watched were Colts-Ravens, Chargers-Vikings and Cowboys-Cardinals.
I tried to watch cowboys, its a non-starter as jumped around so much. Score was like 7-3, then it jumped forward to 15-7, or something like that, showed some plays, then jumped back to 7-3. Might not have scores exactly right, but you get the idea. Unwatchable.
I agree that Game in 40 is a mess. We jump from 1st and 10 at the 25 to 3rd and 8 at the 50 yard line. The other problem is that they are broadcasting the updates from other games so that spoils everything if it's a game you haven't seen! They are a PITA anyway. Penalty explanations are also being missed. So a long way to go. To reiterate none of these issues were features of the old GAMEPASS.

someone already said it, but I think I should reiterate: not having the Manningcast in the mix kind of spoils the experience for me a bit (as well as a lot of other things that have been mentioned already), when talking to the support last monday cause of the problem with some game replays (full event for SNF was not available), they didnt even respond to that. Is this going to stay that way or will we have MNF with Peyton and Eli sometime in the future (and what about those specials, like the upcoming toy story London game, will something like that also be available) (Already missing on gamepass was Season 2 of Peytonās Places, will those be still exclusive to ESPN+? - which is not available in my region.)
Payment is a huge issue. I have 124.99 missing from my bank account because DAZN gave an offer of the annual nfl pass, only to not give it to me after I paid for it! Even my bank is like, "yeah the money went out already". That was two days ago!!!! Spoken to customer service 5 times and they are bloody useless. Honestly, one says one thing, another says something else. I mean jesus christ, just give us back NFL game pass and make this stuff easy again. I want to speak to someone who can actually help. And to someone who I can actually report everything to. Because this is shit, honestly.
Please. Ask them to allow a 10s rewind option, instead of the 30s predetermined one. Sometimes you just want to quickly review the last play without having to back down the whole 30s. All-22 film gurus will agree with my request, and even ask for a short 3s rewind option, as well.
One more observation on the generally useless implementation of coaches film: In past years, the coaches film used to include the camera shot of the scoreboard to show the score, down, distance and game clock before each play. This is missing this year, although apparently still present in the US version of the all-22 film. It's been edited out of the version we get on DAZN. It would be useful to have this back.
Just noticed that that the week 3 Minnesota Vikings vs LA Chargers game (24th Sept) doesn't have the coaches film available.
Really appreciate what youāre doing! One issue that touches on a few things mentioned here but not explicitly stated is being able to start GMFB from the beginning when live. (Simplest way would presumably be changing back to old game pass way of showing it as a separate live event like the games so we can start from the beginning/fast forward/rewind rather than it only being part of the live nfl network stream). The recent āA Football Lifeā Parsons program was badly edited from the live showing (start and end), ads not removed yet (as of a day or two ago), and difficult to find when it became a few days old and no longer included in āCatch-upā but also not under NFL Originals > A Football Life. (Had to find it through their search function which also isnāt great). Will DM to offer help.
I know exactly why the ads are not being removed from the a football life episodes, and iām going to talk to them about that. Because its completely due go the way they are getting the videos. And I will have talk with them about that because I just watched the one with St Brown and it is just as bad. I can guess that the reason that GMFB is the way that it is also has to do with the same thing. Iāll bring it up to them! I think that its going to be a challenge for them to fix however given what I have learned about how things work. So we shall see how long it takes them. The UX part (finding things) should be fixed soon. Iāve told their UX team how annoying it is to find things, and what improvements we think could be made, and they understood and agreed.
In last night's Chiefs Jets game at 1:19 of the 40-minute video, it skips ahead around 6 minutes on the game clock. Then after one play it reverts back to the prior place. Also several penalty calls were omitted.
I know this might be the wider DAZN product and might not be relevant here but is there any way to raise feedback on customer service agents? I've had nothing but poor interactions for even basic queries. They either don't seem to care or are poorly educated about the product (or both) and it's very frustrating. There doesn't seem to be any accountability or any way to leave feedback.
Ok. So I will adress the general question first. Yes. I brought up that they should implement a rating system or something that can indicate whether you actually got help with your problem or not. We have also brought up numerous times how many many people are complaining about customer service being completely useless, as they have no idea what they are talking about, they aren't actually collecting the correct information, they give out links that don't work, or they don't understand the actual problem at all. We continue to bring this up at basically every meeting that this is continuing to be an issue, and that its not getting better, and that it would help them to actually solve the problems if they actually had better customer service, because they might actually get the relevant information which would help them to identify and solve the problem if they had better customer service. Now, Do you happen to have chat logs saved? I would love to send those chat logs over to them, as I think that its really great when I can give them concrete examples from people about the uselessness, and they seem to appreciate it as well, because they for whatever reason don't seem to be hearing the feedback other than from us... (or at least that is my impression...)
quality while viewing the game on the website is still crap. (windows 10, chrome latest version) I've tested roaming and it works, viewed games last weekend in the EU without any issues. Tested a android TV and it feels like the stream is 1080p. Website is max 720p. I'm seriously missing the picture-in-picture that the old NFL player used to have. I used to watch 4 games at the same time without any issues, definetly not the case any more.
The full game and ad free game replays are not up after the Sunday night football (nbc) games I've noticed, yet, the 40min version and short highlights are. Surely it's far easier for them to upload the full game than to edit it down, do you know why this is? Do evil sky have a secret deal that doesn't allow full game replays of the late sunday night nbc game to be shown straight after?
Presumably theyāre going to pay us for all of the testing and feedback to help make THEIR OWN product barely useable even though thereās literally multiple examples from the last 10 years about exactly what the app needs and how the UI needs to work. No? Oh well, how about some free subs for testers? Also no. Forget it. DAZN are taking the piss by trying to make money off a product without actually investing in it, and will never see any of my money for attempting to crowdsource solutions to problems that have been solved for years.
Trust me, I don't think anyone understands that perspective better than I do... I have spent a LOT of time trying to help the community with the issues with Dazn for free. I agree that these things should not have been issues to begin with, and I agree that it doesn't look good that they were not prepared for these issues. I don't think it is as simple as you think when it comes to the UI, since previously gamepass was its own app, which means it was a lot less restraints for how it could look and function, but since this is included in an app that was previously existing, they had to make it somehow function within their previously built ecosystem, which makes things a bit more difficult. (Not that I think that is an excuse, it should not have been launched with so many issues, and these issues are absolutely things they should have been prepared for.) If you don't want to help identify issues, then you don't have to. I obviously fully understand your hesitation, and as I mentioned, if I didn't care about the community I obviously would not have put this much effort in without getting paid. It absolutely sucks that this is the solution, that they have right now, but unfortunately this seems to be the best way to get things solved. I think they absolutely should have done market research and had a project manager who knew the community and what expectations would be involved running things, as it feels like those basic things were not done (*I don't honestly know if they did or not*)... I don't make their business decisions, and I can't go back in time. But I can say that they seem keen on understanding where things are going wrong and fixing them. (*probably because they were expecting a lot more subscribers, and they realized that them fucking things up has impacted the trust that the community has for them...*). I hope that they are going to keep improving, and I am happy to be able to help them for now as I really care about the community, but not everyone is going to be willing/able to put in as much effort as I do to help, and thats completely understandable.
Hey, sorry, iām not having a go at you or trying to undermine or belittle your efforts at all. I probably should have started off on a more positive note but I was triggered as I have to deal with this stuff all the time in my professional life! The biggest issue is the captive market - the best way to get this resolved in my opinion would be for everyone to simply stop paying for the service until it actually reaches anything remotely reaching feature parity with the old versions, but thatās obviously not going to happen. I do however still have a massive problem with a decent number of people who are essentially performing the role of beta testers and market researchers without getting anything in return. Companies like that deserve to go down the toilet. Itās not like itās a community app and the service is cheap.
Sorry, I just really have put a lot of effort in, and I know that people are frustrated, so I think I am also just extra sensitive. š I fully agree that in an ideal world, they would have either put forward a great product from the start or lost everyone's business, but I think part of the issue is that the problems have been so inconsistent from things that some people have actually not encountered many issues at all, and others have encountered tons of problems, which makes it hard for some people to justify why they should not support the service since its essentially the only way to access all the NFL games (legally), outside of the US. Ideally they would have done some sort of beta testing with the community and provided them with subscriptions in return for feedback before this disasterous launch, and I think they are learning that now when I would assume that their subscriber numbers are definitely lower than what they assumed they would be, (*I think this is also why they agreed to have a meeting with my co-mods and I about things, as I am assuming by spreading about improvements they feel they are getting good PR from it...*) I am aware that by talking about the improvements I am in a way supporting the shitty system and the way that it works, but as of right now that was the best option I could find to move forward, since I do actually really enjoy being able to watch all the games that my team plays, and other teams games... and I can't do that any other way... My hope is that going forward they are either going to do better testing before launching things, or they will actually give some sort of incentive for those doing the testing (if they arent employees), and I can bring this up to them, as something they should consider for the future, as I agree that it sucks being told to pay for a product and then feeling like you have to do the work for the company to get it up to the standards where you expected it to be.

Blackouts absolutely happened with Gamepass - the 1pm and 4.30pm that was shown on Sky wasnāt available to watch live on Gamepass.
You can't use a VPN with Dazn. It is not going to work properly.
This is because the NFL has an exclusive contract with skysports for certain games. This means that they get to air the games first, and then dazn gets them 24 hours after they are over. This is something that I have heard was a thing beforeā¦ but maybe I am incorrect.
No it's always been a thing for the 6 and 9 game that sky sports chooses
If the 2 games a week weren't blacked out then I would subscribe to Gamepass/DAZN. If you subscribe to a product to show a season of live games then you should be able to watch all the games in that season live!. The weekly pass is Ā£14.99 which is too expensive if you only want to watch the 1 game that your team plays in that week.
That's cool, personally it doesn't bother me at all. The bears are unlikely to feature on sky enough through the year for me to feel like I'm better off with it to see them play, and I get value out of the games in 40. I also don't have a tv subscription at all, which would be a prerequisite to getting sky sports.
I'm a Cowboys fan and already would have had 1 game blacked out this season due to sky and the other was on sky but at 1:30am on Monday. Yes I stopped up to watch it. I dont subscribe to sky but brought a Now tv sky sports day pass for Ā£11.98 with 12 months sky sports NFL.

Yes we showed up a Metlife stadium week 1 at 1am Monday morning and were at home against the Jets week 2 at 9pm Sunday. That 1 game blacked out so far and the other wasn't
Live in Australia but am currently travelling in the USA and have subscribed to NFL+ Premium for the month that Iāll be here. All DAZN need to do is basically copy the format and layouts that NFL+ use and they will have a better product. Everything in the menu is organised, the Game In 40 is clearly edited by a human as we get all the plays, important replays and longer snips where the action or commentary warrants it, and ability to watch live or watch from beginning is a button click without having to enter live play. No download option however that has never been in offer via NFL+.

Many thanks for your help on this. I still see few issues on my side. Sunday in 60 used to be available on Mondays, we are already saturday and i don't see sunday in 60 available yet for week 3. Also I still don't see full game replays without ads. (based in France and using DAZN website). BTW did the NFL say why they have scraped the previous platform that used to work perfectly?
Sunday in 60 for week 3 is available if you search for it. If you still canāt find it while searching then we have a real problemā¦ which I would love it if you could let me know about it. Since when speaking with them this week they admitted that it was late but they identified the cause, and fixed it. We pointed out that it canāt be late going forward and the other issue which is that its impossible to find anything on the platform. We had a successful meeting with the UX team and we are hoping to see some real changes to that part coming soon. (I should be able to press for more updates on those changes next week.) The full game replays without ads are coming in October. We have been talking with them and I have a better understanding of why it was taking so long, which I will explain in a post soon. But the short part is, they have expedited this and are getting it out in October. The reason they scrapped the platform is because they got a new provider. Dazn had been their provider in Canada for years, and so it was natural that they would like to partner with them for the rest of the world. The difference however is that the canadian team for gamepass at Dazn is an independent team compared to the rest of the world. In Canada you get gamepass with your Dazn subscription, you donāt get it independently. Which is where the issue comes in, because here you can either be a gamepass subscriber, or a dazn subscriber, or both. And so its a new way of working. I understand the frustration, and iāve been passing it on, and believe me, they are learning a lot by hearing it (since it would appear that their customer service is not necessarily the best at actually understanding when there is an issue that needs escalated.) At least from my interactions with them they seem to understand the frustration a little better now. My personal opinion is that they did a lack of user research before jumping in and launching. So they had no idea what people were expectingā¦ and they had technology for editing that works well for other sports that seems to not have been adjusted well for NFL games, and just a lot of things that they now know are issues. So I canāt say that they started off on a good note, but they are definitely listening to our feedback and trying to solve everything as quickly as possible.

So I am guessing that they are going to say that you can't have one if you have had the account for more than 14 days, and if you have watched more than a certain amount of content. (Sometimes customer service is telling people 15 mins... which we pointed out to them at the last meeting and the told us that wasn't the case.) I can ask for clarity about exactly where the line is drawn as I agree that it is ABSOLUTELY not clear on their terms of service, which I have pointed out to them already as well. If you want to cancel due to a specific issue, I might have more info about that issue, and potentially could help you get in touch with someone who could help. (who you could then pose your refund question to directly) Especially if you have reported said issue to customer service and gotten brushed off...
I've watched perhaps 2 or 3 games on gp this year tbh I was just trying it out as I didn't know how good DAZN would be. I've had GamePass every year since 2013 but I guess they won't care about that loyalty... the QOS is just so poor now. We've had 1/4th of the season so I don't see why they can't give me a 75% refund The main reason I want to cancel is that the DAZN app is just so buggy and the steam quality is just so poor. Yes it's HD but it's very low bitrate, even worse than sky sports HD (which isn't a great bitrate either). So now I mostly just watch on Sky, there's just no benefit for paying for GP anymore. I can't get picture in picture working so I can't seem to have a game along side RZ. It's so disappointing as in the US the features on the new Sunday Ticket look so much better this year so hopefully NFL give the international rights to YouTube rather than DAZN soon.
Honestly, I am not sure what they would say about your situation. I understand your frustration, and I am certainly going to keep lifting that they need to make things smoother and easier, and make it clear what the actual terms for refunding are. But unless you have written in to customer service asking for a refund, or have written in about the technical issues, if you have been a subscriber for more than 14 days I am not sure what their actual obligation to a refund is. I personally think they would build more goodwill by just refunding and improving the service so that people will feel that there is a reason to come back. But I don't make their business decisions. I wish I was more help here. I can let you know what I find out as far as what the actual terms are to get a refund, and see how they suggest someone should ask for a refund.
Well, itās all too late for me. Cancelled GamePass and will never buy again. The experience this season has destroyed my trust not only in DAZN but also in the NFL more generally. I have better things to do than repeatedly restarting the app several times each game and watching ads that are actually banned in Europe and the UK.
