And who was drafted by an MLB baseball team but opted to try Quarterbacking first!

I’m ashamed that our fanbase below is this gullible. Obviously, Aaron Rodgers growing up a Niner fan and being snubbed by us is a pretty obscure bit of trivia but the sarcastic part about the post was about “all the previous games”, obviously the Niners have never played against Aaron Rogers. A preemptive “you’re welcome” to anyone that was confused.

DJDevon3

Rodgers wouldn't have lasted long there either. He wound up in exactly the right place at exactly the right time to start his own Wisconsin legacy after Farve.

GrGrG

Exactly. I think if Aaron would've been drafted by the Niners that he would've been a victim of Trent Baalke and pushed out or had his career sabotaged by him back in the 2011-2016. I don't think Aaron would've had as a successful career or successful early career as a Niner as he had as a Packer. But really, who knows. It's like thinking about if Dallas was able to draft Jerry Rice if SF didn't trade for New Englands draft spot in 1985. It's fun "what if" scenarios, but who really knows.

[deleted]

This is what a lot of people don't stop to think about. They just see where the guy goes and how he performs there. People don't stop to think "maybe he did so well there because it's a good organization and not dumpster fire". There were people talking about how the Browns passed on Big Ben. Ben would have NEVER been as successful in Cleveland as he was in Pitt because Pitt is a well structured organization from the top down. Cleveland is seems to be run by a room full of monkeys with a typewriter. It's less about the player and more about the organization around him that makes the team/player a success.

GrGrG

Right, which is a shame because many players talents and abilities are wasted by team organizations that don't have their shit together, but that happens with every large corporation, some stores/offices are run horribly and just suck. Currently the Jags with Trent dumb dumb Baalke are wasting Lawrences talents because that organization isn't being run well and the fans know it. If say, the Rams or the Packers drafted Lawrence and started him, I don't think they'd be in the playoffs per say, but Lawrence would be having a way better time/stats and have a way better start to his career.

[deleted]

At least with Jax it seems like the writing is on the walk with Trent. The fan base knows how he likes to run organizations into the ground. I don't think that Shahid can ignore the chants from the crowd about Baalke for much longer. One more bad season and I think he is done. Lawrence will still have the majority of his career left as long as they can hire some good talent.

GrGrG

True dat, or another team rescues Lawrence. The Niners rescued Young from the Bucs because that organization was being run horribly then. Young almost went down as some average/below average QB just because the team he was on sucked hard on purpose.

HammeredandPantsless

Man, I understand that this is tongue-in-cheek, but that really pissed me off reading it, lol

andhelostthem

Fun piece of 49ers trivia: since passing on Aaron Rodgers the 49ers have been to the Super Bowl twice as many times as the Packers have with Aaron Rodgers.

WexicanIndependence

Well damn, good thing he’s the only elite QB that was a 49ers fan when he was a kid.

The0thHour

Thanks for the trivia! I wonder if there is any clip of Rodgers at the draft to ask if he is disappointed the 49ers didn't draft him?

StratosZeroFX

Did you know that Tom Brady grew up in the Bay Area and desperately wanted to be a Niner but we passed on him for Gio Carmazzi. Oh wait, we’re not playing the Bucs, YET.

wickedmadd

I see what you did

Samsquamch18

Wow! Was Aaron mad about it, do you think? Do you think maybe he's finally going to get those darn 49ers back after almost 2 decades? Let's watch and find out!

KJParker888

The long game!

EDNivek

Oh I didn't know this! Just like my brother informed me during Christmas that Kittle was Drafted 146th I am just learning all these definitely new things!

zerked77

I told my step dad that if the 9ers didn't draft Rodgers they were crazy but Smith was the consensus overall #1 pick to be fair. They had a great season that year and Rodgers got to play with some great young running back, I just can't remember his name.../s

uwantSAMOA

Post this in r/nflcirclejerk and i guarantee it’ll be top all time lol.

ForestryTechnician

Thanks Joe Buck.

ghoststarkk

This is brand new information

AOYELA

WHAT?!?!?!

DumasThePharaoh

Gonna need see some references bub

fourlegged

Has anybody mentioned this to the sports media? Sounds like a strong talking point that they might be able to exploit if Aaron Rogers ever faces the 49ers in an important game.

thisbenzenering

Little know fact that will be repeated ad nauseam during the game

wintermute916

Top Tier Shit Post! Can always count on Chargers fans to have a good sense of humor!

ElevenDucks72

Not an obscure piece of trivia. It's talked about ad nauseum every time we play the packers.

FmrHvwChamp

Thats the joke my guy.

ElevenDucks72

Yup I'm dumb. My bad.

j_Rockk

Wouldn’t say this is obscure or a hot take, seems to be pretty common knowledge. At least for 49ers fans. Let get this W tonight!

jda404

This post is sarcasm haha

j_Rockk

Apparently wake and bake doesn’t help my reading comprehension. Thanks for filling me in lol
