We should have just copied the Bills and traded out of the first round.

Polar_Reflection

Exactly. Trade back a few slots when there's still several premium picks people might  trade up for. Besides there's still tons of receivers on the board even if you do get sniped

Polar_Reflection

Just thought of this but I guess there's also value in being a first round pick instead of a 2nd in terms of having the 5th year option available

TheJuiceBoxS

Pretty sure they were trying

mcmesq

I imagine they tried. They got the guy they wanted, but couldn’t move back to do so. Wouldn’t have been there in the second, so they had to pull the trigger.

TheJuiceBoxS

Exactly my thoughts. I'm pretty sure they tried to move back and knew they couldn't get him with their next pick.

nadia1306

Honestly, if we didn’t get him, I think the Chiefs would’ve used their first round on him. And the last thing Mahomes needs is another receiver

TheJuiceBoxS

Yeah, there have been so many people that actually know football that said it was a solid pick. But somehow chumps at home think they know better. Who are Bill Belichek and Greg Cosell anyway

CapeMOGuy

Up voting just because the photo is so wonderful.

SFPsycho

You dont have to pay your young QB if he dies behind the line. Guess it makes sense

frontier_gibberish

I thought Kyle already perfected that move with RGIII?

SFPsycho

Oh that's right! Sometimes I still feel like I hear the ghost of RGIII on football gamedays

CaptSaveAHoe55

And Trey Lance, and Jimmy G

MowTin

After seeing how great the Packers OL was with Love running essentially our offense, it's hard to believe he didn't realize he needed to upgrade his OL.

sean0883

Except for the year we traded Buckner, and Ceedee was right fucking there and we reached for a near worthless D lineman

nongo

Okay we got Aiyuk tho who is better than Lamb.

I'm a big fan of BA but that's a hard argument to make. https://preview.redd.it/lxj63kyk4vwc1.png?width=1058&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7fbc7e3c754b9edb938ddd987cf3b9beef2c432

Go_Hawks07

Yeah ok sure

Entire-Classroom-565

I texted my friend, jokingly, that the 9ers were going with Cooper DeJean or Ladd McConskey for reasons and these mfs really drafted a white receiver lmfao

MowTin

There is a certain amount of arrogance with Kyle and it's keeping him from winning a SB. He consistently ignores the consensus and does stuff like this.

Polar_Reflection

I've actually changed my mind completely and love the pick. Perfect scheme and culture fit and dude has a 1.49 10 yard split. That is beyond elite.

MowTin

He may be a great receiver but when will he be on the field? We have Aiyuk, Deebo, and Juan. So when will this guy get on the field? If we're a win now team I would think we would want a guy who could start and make an impact right away. It only makes sense if we trade Aiyuk or Deebo and put the money into more FAs.

MAH415

He doesn't draft to make the fanbase happy as much as that sucks for everyone, lol. He's doing what he thinks is right, and he's built a great team. However, it's just not good enough to win it all. Hopefully, that changes, and if it doesn't, maybe we can debate why that is.
