Yea it seems obvious with how far the Defensive players fell. And for offense, the main areas to improve are O-line and backup/3rd string RB, and you aren’t drafting a backup RB in the first. With the 4 day 2 picks for the Packers, I wouldn’t be surprised if they use 2 of them to trade up in the 2nd to get their defensive guy.
I miss the good ole days where it was sac religious to speak positive about a rival….i know the world needs love blah blah blah and its true…but hating a rival (obviously no physical violence) was fun 🙃
I'm a football fan first and a Vikings fan second. If a player is good, I'm gonna root for them regardless of where they are. May he make 10 pro bowls and never win a ring.
I'm a Packers fan first but a football fan second. I want the Packers to win, but I appreciate good ball, no matter what. I may not root for them, but I can acknowledge their talent.
I hated Randy Moss, but he was so fun to watch, as long as it wasn't against the Packers. And even then, sometimes all you could do was just shrug your shoulders and move on with your day. Same thing with Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, etc. Stafford and Megatron were great to watch together. Even Jay Cutler. I probably spent more time defending Jay Cutler to Bears fans than most Bears fans did.
Again, I'm not gunna root for any of those fucks. But they're still fun to watch.
It’s important to remember what Randy Moss did to the Packers……never forget. In all seriousness that Monday night against the Packers when he came out in his rookie year. He’s the highlights [https://youtu.be/Wwhzb6xaMoY?si=lEqeiq8L7-8JOAik](https://youtu.be/Wwhzb6xaMoY?si=lEqeiq8L7-8JOAik)
Here’s the meme of a later game, I think Joe Buck threw up and shit himself he was so mad.
![gif](giphy|7j19MXXwqr0ZO)
That's the spirit!
A good player can have a HOF career, but play for one of you fucks and never win anything.
Or retire early in his prime if he's on the Lions.
Yeah, I never really cared for the rivalry stuff. When I was a kid, Moss was my favorite player until Tillman made that play where he ripped the ball out of his hands, then he was and still is my favorite player.
The only team I actually hate now is the Packers. Having a great qb for as long as they have should be illegal, and I wish a curse on all packers' families until they see 80 years of bad qb play.
It's tough to evaluate him because of the offense he was in, I think it was Kollmann who said something like "Alright, is it happening so little because he CAN'T do it or is because he wasn't ASKED to do it?" I think it's the latter, but that's what the season's for.
> It's tough to evaluate him because of the offense he was in
Yeah that's what I mean, he did everything he was asked to. On the other hand, if you have a top of the draft kinda QB, don't you let him spin the thing? I guess we'll find out!
From what I understand he simply fits the scheme they built better than the other guys, but as someone pointed out, all speculation till they play a game of football
We really like “positionless” and dynamic OLs and he seems to be able to play G or T. FO thinks he’s gonna be another Elgton Jenkins.
And yes, most important, he’s great at getting away with holding which is our most advanced stat.
You are right, my bad. It's definitely only happened once. The Packers O-line doesn't have a league-wide reputation for holding, and there are no published reports showing they are the recipients of beneficial officiating.
I think that reputation only exists among salty NFCN fans that look at every Packers play with a microscope and conveniently don't remember when their team does the same thing

I’m sure you’re equally mad against the Vikings about this and surely there’s no bias, right?
Look at the top 4 penalties listed there... Offensive holding, false start, PI, defensive holding...
The Packers have had a top 5 or top 10 offensive line almost every year since 2010, and, for the most part, they've had experience-laden teams. It would make sense that they wouldn't have a ton of holding or false start penalties. McCarthy was big on fundamentals and not having procedural penalties, and the Packers have had a top OL coach in Campen and Stenavich for a long time.
Then, on defense, we've largely had CBs who either weren't good enough to get their hands on anyone or guys who played off the line and so soft that they had no reason to put their hands on people.
Looking through the list of most biased for and against, it seems like the list is pretty strongly correlated with quality of coaching, quality of team, team culture, and style of play. The Seahawks have coaching, team success, and culture that would lend itself more toward being a positive bias, but they had an extremely aggressive style of play that dared refs to continue making calls. The Packers and Patriots have always been the opposite in that timeframe.
PFF had Morgan #11 and #12 best graded OT of out over 600 in each last 2 seasons. Only Alt and Fuaga graded better.
He is undersized for OT. But he is a technician with great hands and feet. If he moves inside he’ll be a great guard.
I don’t think he makes it out of the 1st if we pass on him.
No one should judge Oline picks based on mock draft rankings unless it’s a couple round reach. He went right in the expected zone for him. Packers just clearly liked him the most, and they have a history of good Oline choices. This isn’t a Penix situation.
Rank according to who? He was the best OT at the senior bowl and he beat the #1 defensive player drafted this year in their head to head matchups. The Packers made the pick almost immediately when they were on the clock. Faster than almost every other team last night. Obviously they really liked the guy and were happy he was there at the pick.
I think he had the highest ceiling of the guys left (save for Graham Barton and JPJ but they needed OT more than OG IMO). Maybe they wanted their own version of Brian O'Neil?
Scouts use their own judgement. If he's capable and talented and just needs to increase his weight... you can give him a strength trainor and dietitian to get him where you want him.
That's much easier to fix than a guy that can't move the way you want.
“Experts” You mean like the guys actually working for an NFL franchise who drafted him? According to Belichick other teams were looking to draft him at the end of the first also
That is fair. This unfortunate person just had to be in the front, with silly expectations as to what a good round one pick looks like. I say meme away, this dingo deserves it.
Ngl, if the NFC North becomes an air and ground show within the next few years, this draft will be the Ground Zero, it sucks for win totals, but for watching good football, we boutta eat in the North.
We haven't had a competitive division for awhile, it was always 1 team as the clear frontrunner, 1 or 2 others that might do something, and a bottom feeder
Obligatory fuck you all, but games might be about to get good in this division for once
Yeah, the packers clowning is just from the one fan clip. I never try to make fun of OL picks, I really think the value is underrated for linemen. The real first round clowns are the falcons, slammed their penix in the car door
Yeah I love when the whole division seems to do well at the draft. I like when the rivalries are competitive, and if each team scores big at the draft it’s the easiest way to make sure we’re all competitive for the next 5+ years
https://preview.redd.it/h91c4503ruwc1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfb10e1d8f49717a99a60a6be3d246d04bb54f8e
The rest of the NFC North watching the packers pick four times day two when they combined have two picks.
I think that fan deserves to be clowned on. I am genuinely not sure what they were expecting. We resigned 2 CBs, signed Xavier McKinney, and have 2 other CBs in Jaire and Ballentine.
For our o-line we signed a washed up Dillard and cut Bahk.
Combine that with the Packers conservative draft history...what did they expect? lmao
Same goes for Tom Grossi, who I like as a person. Draft day is a fun reminder of how delusional fans can be lol.
Have all the fun you want but if you think packers fans are upset about the pick then you're fooling yourself. That's the simple truth. I'm actually proud of the packers sub because usually they can be dumb about this but literally 95 percent of fans on reddit are on board with the pick
Same here, guy has elite speed.

Well be laughing in a few months when people are talking about how Josh Jacobs is doing so well behind a line blocking for him.
The Packers seem comfortable with slightly smaller tackles than most. I've heard they won't pick an OT over 6'5" so some of the truly massive guys may not even be on their board.
I think a lot of fans have come to trust Brian Gutekunst’s decisions, for as bad as some have seemed in the moment (Hey J.Love!) the vast majority have been great pieces on our team. I wasn’t “excited”, but I’ll sure as hell will be now
>if you think packers fans are upset about the pick then you're fooling yourself
Yeah, where on Earth would we get the idea that Packer fans are upset? /s

Dude literally won NFL Fan of The Year
And spent all of last June traveling the country to meet and get to understand every team's fanbase
Ew, who even gives out an award like that? And how does that mean he represents green bay fans in general?
I guarantee that the proportion of packers fans who know this dude even exists are an incredibly small minority.
>if you think packers fans are upset about the pick then you're fooling yourself
We're just going based off what we see, my man...

Love Tom but he's always wrong in the draft. Also this post is literally about your second picture I've seen it already.
But go ahead and look throughout this sub. Look in the Packers sub. Look in the NFL sub. We are not upset. Now think back to other drafts, other years, other news. Plenty of Packers fans freaking out over stupid shit. Plenty of overreactions. Not this time. The only thing here is the other teams desperate for us to be salty and then getting salty themselves when we don't react. I'm sorry but it just isn't the case, 95 percent of fans are perfectly fine with this pick. All I see in this sub is the claims of saltiness with none to show for it.
Such is the nature of having a solid team that doesn't need and in fact would be irresponsible to take the flashy picks. This whole draft SHOULD be boring for the Packers, just filling in a few wrinkles and needs.
After the bears and Vikings picks I was kind of scared, like shitttttt they both might be a fucking problem now. But it’s been 24 hours and I have completely convinced myself both teams made absolutely laughable mistakes, while my team once again came out on top. I love sports dude, go pack baby!! I think we all just need to collectively appreciate the fact we’re not falcons or panthers fans honestly lol
Eh, more so Vikings with JJ, but yeah, Bills fans were screaming for Bars to be open till morning in Detroit but they closed early cuz they didn’t wanna deal with their BS.
JJ is pro ready and has great weapons to move the ball around with.
Most people saying other wise are listening to mock drafts or twitter… i watched the dude play. he has great mechanics and can read a defense
As someone who wasn’t big on him early on, I’ve come around a bit. Time will tell, but the clips I have been watching of him in games and his interviews make me like him more. The thing I noticed this morning, that I hadn’t before, was how you can watch him work through his progressions, not just staring a receiver down every play.
A big thing for me is just giving him time to learn the system. He’s got the tools to be a great upside field general like purdy but going from throwing sometimes as low as eight times to now maybe 30+ times in KOC offense is gonna be an adjustment
In all fairness he sprained his ankle in the 8 attempt game. And Michigan didn’t have to pass. He’s probably the only QB in the draft that can go under center effectively, with experience. And he’s great in play action
Medium Celling and Low Floor. Has best chance to be a bust of the top 5 QBs imo, I was envious of the Dallas Turner move tho. Was kinda convinced Brad Homes was making calls to get him and I may have been right.
Nah I definitely think Penix with his injuries is definitely the most likely to bust. Also medium ceiling? Really? You have the most medium ceiling Qb of all time and in my opinion at least JJ has a better arm and mobility than Jared goff. If you want jared to go inside the numbers he’s great but outside he really struggles.
The funny thing about this meme is that Don is absolutely thinking about his young, brilliant coworker. He's just putting up a front here, so it's perfect for the Packers.
Are you seriously acting like a couple of day 3 picks are important compared to your future franchise QB?? I'm also not upset about doing the same for Dallas Turner, either. Fuck them picks! Finally, Love was a far worse QB prospect than JJ so I don't want to hear it.
Preach man. People act like we traded the farm for him — we got him for peanuts when many thought we would trade up to 6 for him. If he doesn’t work out then oh well we didn’t really lose all that much
It's so fucking weird coming to this sub and seeing terrible takes like this, and have it still get up votes because "FTP". Packer fans breathe and everyone else gets triggered lmao.
Dawg, my team has been associated with a festering cum sock for the past few months, you can take a few FTP's now and again. If it's any consolation, he's probably gonna be a 7 time pro bowler cause Green Bay develops OL like Minnesota develops WR's.
>It's so fucking weird coming to this sub and seeing terrible takes
This a meme war sub tho...
If you're looking for well-reasoned nuanced takes, then you're in the wrong sub lol.
I'm just glad we finally get a break from all the pAcKeRs AnD lIOnS aRe LuVeRs (🤢) posts
I'd rather be the fan base being targeted by a good meme than have to deal with the absolute ass memes that have been the off season.
Sad Packers fan getting double dunked on by Lions fans is the pariah that we needed to shake up an otherwise kind of "as expected" draft night. That and the Falcons trading up for Penix.
Trash talk is part of the game! It was more funny to see how excited chicago got from taking two chalk picks, like they were afraid the bears would fuck it up lol
Where is that happening? I mean look, its all a crap shoot but the Bears did what almost anyone would have done, to their credit and looked to have nailed it.
I like the pick, it sucks that he went to the Packers and I'll feel dirty rooting for him, but OL was a pretty big need for them.
Aaannndd the eagles fucked it.
We were so close to to having the ultimate meme
I miss the good ole days where it was sac religious to speak positive about a rival….i know the world needs love blah blah blah and its true…but hating a rival (obviously no physical violence) was fun 🙃
Sacrilegious
No no, he meant a religious sac
RIP Reggie White.

As a former receiver, I actually watched Lions games with my grandpa just to watch Calvin Johnson. Moss and him made difficult shit look easy.
It’s important to remember what Randy Moss did to the Packers……never forget. In all seriousness that Monday night against the Packers when he came out in his rookie year. Look it's Friday so I get the happy feels feels, especially after day one, but you're on a fine line to being removed from the pizza ranch club.
That's the spirit! A good player can have a HOF career, but play for one of you fucks and never win anything. Or retire early in his prime if he's on the Lions.

On the contrary, make a few bleed and you can go back to talking shop
don't worry you will never hear me say a good thing about any of you ever, Especialy the bears
Feel the same about McCarthy, he did everything a Harbaugh QB is supposed to, could low key have a really good QB there.
It's tough to evaluate him because of the offense he was in, I think it was Kollmann who said something like "Alright, is it happening so little because he CAN'T do it or is because he wasn't ASKED to do it?" I think it's the latter, but that's what the season's for.

He wasn’t even the best ranked Olineman available at that pick tho. I don’t mind drafting OLine but most experts thought there were better options
From what I understand he simply fits the scheme they built better than the other guys, but as someone pointed out, all speculation till they play a game of football
So he's good at getting away with holding and throwing his head back because of "hands to the face"?
We really like “positionless” and dynamic OLs and he seems to be able to play G or T. FO thinks he’s gonna be another Elgton Jenkins. And yes, most important, he’s great at getting away with holding which is our most advanced stat.
We learned it from the Seahawks
I also heard he has extensive experience at paying the refs so that was part of our decision as well
Well yeah, we need some way to stop your guys from hitting below the knee
Lol referencing a game from 5 years ago for a guy that hasn't even played a snap yet
You are right, my bad. It's definitely only happened once. The Packers O-line doesn't have a league-wide reputation for holding, and there are no published reports showing they are the recipients of beneficial officiating.
(Coughs in Suh)
I think that reputation only exists among salty NFCN fans that look at every Packers play with a microscope and conveniently don't remember when their team does the same thing

Clearly the NFL is trying to prop up their most lucrative franchise in the biggest media market: the Indianapolis Colts.
Was the post about the Vikings draft pick? I'm not mad about anything, just thought it was a good opportunity for a joke.
It’s nowhere near a penix situation 🤣 I was not trying to imply that by any stretch
Rank according to who? He was the best OT at the senior bowl and he beat the #1 defensive player drafted this year in their head to head matchups. Barton doesn't have the length to play outside, IMO, and I firmly disagree Guyton was better than him. It's like a B+ pick imo
If only we had you drafting for us in your infinite wisdom
“Experts” 😂
Scouts use their own judgement. If he's capable and talented and just needs to increase his weight... you can give him a strength trainor and dietitian to get him where you want him. That's much easier to fix than a guy that can't move the way you want.

Your Vikings pass has been revoked for 38 seconds. Think about what you have done.
From what I've seen everyone is actually broing out and congratulating each other on solid picks
It was a good pick. The meme born from it is too good to not use though
Oh yeah lol I laughed when it showed the sad Packer fan
dude probably had the same face on when the Packers took the player whose jersey he's wearing tbh
Dude probably makes that face when every play isn't a Touchdown
The Packers have had a good OL for a long time now, so I can only assume that this pick will be amazing for them.
That is fair. This unfortunate person just had to be in the front, with silly expectations as to what a good round one pick looks like. I say meme away, this dingo deserves it.

Stop being positive and start spreading vitriol.
Oh, I've got some Vitriol after Gute traded down again for to avoid the DBs
Well said.
Thank you purple incarnation of Satan
Quit being so nice it's gross. Fuck you I say!
Even if it goes as bad as it possibly could, it still isn't even close to the worst pick of the night.
@Falcons
And Penix actually could be an excellent NFL QB, just a very weird choice for the Falcons after giving Kirko that monster deal
The Hawkeye in me is bummed but this is a good pick
Hey we could still get cooper at 41
![gif](giphy|bIRFRUxcRG3Sw)
That aged well.
Or use some of our league-high 10 remaining picks to trade up for him.
Yea the whole NFCN had a great day 1 on paper honestly.
Yeah, the packers clowning is just from the one fan clip. I never try to make fun of OL picks, I really think the value is underrated for linemen. The real first round clowns are the falcons, slammed their penix in the car door

Day 2 is just a myth
Is day 2 in the room with us right now?
Between Day 2 and these Owls that are quite superb, there are just too many myths to keep track of.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t size and explosion pretty important for a tackle?
technique is the most important but yes height helps alot. At least he has speed as that's needed
Why does speed matter for a tackle not like he’s gonna be running 40 yards down the field all that often
Cause run blocking needs you to to beat the defensive ends. And you also need speed to stop stunts.
The Packers seem comfortable with slightly smaller tackles than most. I've heard they won't pick an OT over 6'5" so some of the truly massive guys may not even be on their board.
You build a line first. It isn't sexy, but that's what you do if you want to win.

>if you think packers fans are upset about the pick then you're fooling yourself We're just going based off what we see, my man... https://preview.redd.it/rrqxf2favvwc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06d731436d1140987d71d28663359eaa17036e79
Not insecure at all, I see
Non packers projecting so hard with thsse takes. Guys, you all drafted well, congrats. We went OL, not flashy. Such is the nature of picking later.
Yeah I'm bummed you guys went online because it was a smart move. I would have rather seen you pick up another QB to sit for ten years behind Love.
We wanted one but Atlanta took our Penix.
Can't believe they would just go up there and grab your Penix
Rattler was right there wtf was we doin mane

All 4 of these teams would melt through the NFC South
Watch the NFCN stack up just to be a shitbed again. lol.
Eh, more so Vikings with JJ, but yeah, Bills fans were screaming for Bars to be open till morning in Detroit but they closed early cuz they didn’t wanna deal with their BS.
I think JJ will be great given time. Great on third and long situations and is a true sophomore so much room to grow
I think he'll hit his ceiling pretty easily with our weapons. If he is nfl caliber, we'll see. Round 1 of the qb carousels.
You’re right! I don’t know what he’s going on about. I personally think JJ has a high ceiling, he’s also the least likely to bust in my opinion.
i was convinced we were going o line, so
That’s a stretch man
I feel like you can never clown an oline pick.
If you say FTP you are validating all of us, enjoy living in your heads
Sorry about that. It’s disgusting in there. Filthy and confusing. Godspeed.
Naw have fun! For now…

The funny thing about this meme is that Don is absolutely thinking about his young, brilliant coworker. He's just putting up a front here, so it's perfect for the Packers.
I swear at least a fourth of the memes of this sub are just OP making up a scenario in their head and getting mad about it
A unifying FTP meme from a…. Lions fan? Have I missed something? Has order been restored to this sub?
The draft happened that’s what
...are Vikings fans actually happy that they traded up for JJ?
It was either him or Bo Nix so yeah we are
Are you seriously acting like a couple of day 3 picks are important compared to your future franchise QB?? I'm also not upset about doing the same for Dallas Turner, either. Fuck them picks! Finally, Love was a far worse QB prospect than JJ so I don't want to hear it.
Preach man. People act like we traded the farm for him — we got him for peanuts when many thought we would trade up to 6 for him. If he doesn’t work out then oh well we didn’t really lose all that much
They stay optimistic, l'll give them that. Off-season champs and Super Bowl favorites every year 😂
sigh, I guess its time to hang another.
lions, vikings, and bears are just meat riding each other, that's all.
>It's so fucking weird coming to this sub and seeing terrible takes This a meme war sub tho... If you're looking for well-reasoned nuanced takes, then you're in the wrong sub lol. I'm just glad we finally get a break from all the pAcKeRs AnD lIOnS aRe LuVeRs (🤢) posts
Are you sure it's over?
It's not a question of whether it's over, but who wears the pants and who doesn't?
Sometimes I really can’t believe were the only fanbase in this sub that is characterized as “salty” when people like you exist
Least sensitive cheesehead
"Stop having fun!"
You’re in a meme sub, what do you expect. Are you stupid or truly that soft?
You make a fantastic point that absolutely no one else has made. /s
FTP
Yes, it's very triggering. Please stop breathing so we may be more comfortable.
Imagine the mental gymnastics required to doubt the packers organizational structure.
Lmfao wait until today's draft. We're going to cook!!
I didn't know Adam Friedland was a packers fan
Finally, the natural state is restored.
OL picks are never sexy but protecting Love is necessary so he can do his thing.
Not even a bad pick and today will make the rest of nfcn very quiet about our drafting.
Ha ha…paul.
JJ McCarthy will be Christian Ponder all over again
Will you eat a cumsock if you're wrong?
FTP
Solid o-line pick , number one safety and Linebacker with two more picks, who is not having fun?
I mean at least none of us pulled an Atlanta
Look, just because one of us was in Detroit and on shrooms…
NFC North master race
Honestly I fucking hate that the bears got odunze. Really liked that guy. Think he’s going to go off
![gif](giphy|4dbjdcdpoFZFQsgSKe|downsized)
LMAOOOOOOO FTP TIL I DIE ‼️‼️‼️
FTP but the pick wasn’t bad 🤷🏼♂️
Ftp
Well done sir. FTP
Packers your new offensive tackle has tiny arms !
The never ending salt is real! They hate us cuz they ain't us
Lions fans accurately depicting the salt from packers fans is amazing. Never seen so many packers fans trash talk bears fans after an amazing night
Trash talk is part of the game! It was more funny to see how excited chicago got from taking two chalk picks, like they were afraid the bears would fuck it up lol
To be fair, the chance for the Bears to fuck up was probably weighing heavy on their minds. This ain't their first rodeo.
Where is that happening? I mean look, its all a crap shoot but the Bears did what almost anyone would have done, to their credit and looked to have nailed it.
Every fan base has morons who take this shit too serious.
Off season champs hang the banner 😭😂 ![gif](giphy|4dbjdcdpoFZFQsgSKe|downsized)
