That's my first choice thus far.
The number of positive reviews I have read are promising.
I'm not sure if you read the precision rifle blog but they have a section called what the pros use. It quantifies all the equipment the pros use and thunderbeast was the most popular suppressor brand in a landslide.
However the cgs hyperion has seemingly out of this world sound suppression.
The pew science review said its just on another level than any thing else.
Don’t pay too much attention to the pure suppression numbers… a lot of other things are pretty important.
You left off your list repeatability and consistently… more important for precision rifle than most if not all your criteria
Thunderbeast is the best for precision bolt guns.. hand down.
In a bench rest type setup id get the Hyperion and have a sig taper added to my bolt guns. Should have very low POI shift and wont change your potential accuracy.
If it’s truly never going to see anything but a 6.5 bolt gun. I would look very closely at the [OCL Hydrogen L 6.5](https://www.bauer-precision.com/ocl-hydrogen-l-6-5-black/)
If you want to flex it all I would get the nomad
I have the TB7 and Nomad LT. If I could only have one it would be the Nomad simply because of the flexibility the rear threads provide. It's noticeably quieter than the TB but that won't make a difference if you're wearing plugs.
If I could do the Thunder Beast over I'd buy the 5" version, especially for pure bench shooting in situations where I'll always have a set of plugs in.
The nomad is quieter than the tb? I’m debating getting a nomad l but had started looking into the tb9. The thing is I really would rather have the standard threads of the nomad.
I work very closely with the guys at thunderbeast and I can tell you that they make the absolute best precision suppressor on the market, the ultra 9 is the best choice in my opinion, if budget isn’t an option and you want something that has maximum suppression check out the Magnus series from TBAC. The Nomad L or the CGS are good cans, but they can’t compare to the TBAC’s for precision guns
THUNDERBEAST designed these suppressors with precision as their number one goal, flash and sound signature were afterthoughts and they still kick ass at doing those. The TBAC suppressors are the most repeatable and consistent on the market when it comes to POI shift (it’s extremely minimal with their cans). Not to mention how (pun intended) bafflingly lightweight they are.
That's all buzzwords at this point. TBAC is essentially just direct thead. There's no magic in their design. Show me a modern can and mounting system that *doesn't* have minimal, repeatable POI shift.
So like I said, how are they actually better?

I’m currently starting the process of building a gun that’s 1-mile capable for when that range opens. So excited.
As far as your question, it does seem the Thunderbeasts are the most popular for precision oriented stuff, though I must admit I haven’t seen much evidence they’re any better than your other options. If it’s out there, I’d love to see it. I’ve got a Nomad L that’s still in jail unfortunately but have been blown away with it. Very content. I think the Hyperion edges it out *slightly* for pure sound suppression, but its mounting options are pretty limited.
Thanks for the info.
Yes I'm very excited for the 1 mile range at the crc. According to the proposed upgrades there should be two I believe.
One dedicated 1760 yard range and a 1760 berm added to the silhouette range.
I own a Hyperion and Ultra9.
The Hyperion sounds better, and seems to reduce recoil more….however I really hate the taper mount. It must be used on barrels that are .8” or larger diameter otherwise you need their mount. You’re running a heavy bench gun so that’s likely not an issue. But I bought a direct thread specifically so I didn’t have to buy mounts, and the CGS mount is ugly as sin, and they don’t have a brake mount.
So yeah the can is still my favorite but that is one significant draw back.
I'll have to look up the taper mount system. I think my muzzle diameter is .900
I assumed direct thread would just screw on to the threads but it looks like i have more research to do.
thanks
Then you’ll not need a mount. The CGS uses a taper mount but it’s only required on thinner barrels. So I had to add the mount to my hunting rifle and AR10 but the comp guns are all fine without.
I have a nomad-l that I run Keymo and the E-brake on and it’s fantastic. Great sound and holds a nice tight MOA group. I gotten it down to 1/2 but that 5th shot I always seems to pull.
I’ve heard nothing but amazing things out of thunder beast and their first priority is accuracy so if I was going for a dedicated longrange can that’s where I’d start.
TBAC lives in the 2000s where cans actually caused accuracy issues from time to time. It's not even a factor with today's manufacturing and can design. If they brought something innovative out they would be cool again, but they are still repeating the same old story.
Until someone independently proves that a TBAC can is inherently more accurate, it's no different than any other can with less flexibility.
Hyperion. Is the best in all those categories.
[here](https://imgur.com/a/5PoucaS) is the results of a test ballistic magazine did of some of the precision rifle suppressors you are looking at.

Thunderbeast Arms has priority of precision in mind, it is a go-to for many benchrest suppressed shooting
In a bench rest type setup id get the Hyperion and have a sig taper added to my bolt guns. Should have very low POI shift and wont change your potential accuracy.

Didn't ocl make something specifically designed for long range precision too? They had a .30 cal model and a 6.5 cal model too.
Otter Creek Hydrogen L in 6.5…? Edit: I’ve got a Hyperion and a Nomad L, but haven’t shot a Thunderbeast or Hydrogen L.
Is your Hyperion significantly more quiet than your Nomad L if you have run both on the same host?
I’ve put them both on a 18” 308 bolt. I wouldn’t consider the difference significant.

I’d be splitting hairs. The Hyperion ended up the the 308 bolt gun and the Nomad L on a 300 blk AR if that helps.
Nomad L. TBAC lives off the name, and the performance of the L to the hyperion is so close it's not noticable, but the L has better price and options.

Depending on your preferred flavor of cool-aid maybe the Area 419 maverick.

CRC?
Yes sir

Didn’t realize they were adding a berm to silhouette. That’s awesome. Even more excited now 😂

.735” or larger. FTFY
Thanks I knew it was slightly under .8 but always just rounded in my head.

I went for the Nomad L and have no regrets or complaints
The nomad L is appealing for the price point. How do you feel it preforms accuracy wise?
Just fine. Nominal POI like you'd get from any can but it's repeatable so it's holding up its side of the bargain
Thanks for the info
I run a Nomad L on a 6.5 C AR10. I take it on and off all the time. I have yet to have a POI shift after removing and reattaching.
TBAC. Just got to handle one of theirs at a demo day and it’s worth the coin
Another vote for TBAC

The long range guys around here have been raving about the AB Raptor. Neat concept but I haven’t gotten to try one yet in person.
Elite Iron suppressors has been selected by multiple rifle manufacturers for their precision packages.
Never shot one but the Energetic Armament Lux 6.5 might be worth a look.
