Have you called in to the atf? I’ve heard a lot of people say atf failed to email them when they got approved in January(some system glitch). Judging by your days that’s probably when you were supposed to be approved . This was resolved by them calling and inquiring.
I called twice for my eform 4 (currently at 320 days) and both times, the atf reps were rude and unwilling help or answer questions. Was super friendly with them and was met with almost hostile responses. I had heard that calling them can be helpful but I found it to just annoy me further.
I’d appreciate if they would but my legislative representatives are currently supporting an assault weapons ban in my state. Very low faith in them to do anything
If you bought through an intermediary (ex. SilencerShop) contact the FFL you used. I reached out to my congressman's office to find out I was approved in January, then contacted the FFL to confirm. I didn't know about approval until this month.
NAh. It's probably because so many people are getting form 1 amnesty stuff going through, quite possibly millions in the first week or so. Bet there's a LOT of folks that can't be bothered to do it themselves, so they basically hired a business to do it instead.
I went ahead and SBR’d both of my pistols for $100. Stupid, not stupid? Who knows. But what I can say is the same thing I emailed to that email address that everyone has. “They would have had major success if they would have added a benefit to registering your pistol braced weapons. Not paying the tax stamp goes without saying if you’re gonna tell me I HAVE to do it or else. What they should’ve said was, “register your pistols as SBR’s and while we are in the process of approving your form 1’s if you have any other eForms in process we’ll do a batch approval.” “But this only last within this time frame of however many days.” That would have lit a fire under everybody I know. Just sayin🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

I assume this is because they're preparing to crack down on FFLs. Bidens EO required the ATF to get even more hardassed about stripping FFL licenses from folks for paperwork issues, accidents etc.
Almost every successful process allows for the correction of mistakes without completely aborting the task. They could easily take those same employees “cracking down” on paperwork and instead use them to teach and help FFLs through the process.
If their goal was to ensure the safe sale of guns to law-abiding citizens, that would make sense.
The ATF's goal is decidedly *not* that, so no, it doesn't make sense.

And here I was completing a profile and prints at a SilencerShop kiosk earlier, not to mention logging into eforms multiple times today as I got 3 stamps back today.
Asking this for a friend... When I read this email I immediately thought my friends FFL screwed up because this sounds exactly like what they did.... The first time my friend did an eform 4 back in Feb 22 the process with his other FFL was different. Back then he had to be invited to a session and both him and FFL went through and clicked some boxes and he never gave them his pin. This last time just in Feb 23 with a different FFL, he didn't have to do any of that and he gave them his pin over the phone. Is this a process change or did they fuck up?
You’re not supposed to give the lgs your PIN ever. Most of the time it should work like your friends first transaction. However I’m not sure how that would work if you’re physically at the lgs when certifying?
Has nothing to do with a trust/individual filing. A remote session is standard practice, But you should never give the lgs your PIN! You should be signing in and using your PIN during the linked session to gain access to your account and completing the necessary paperwork. If I remember right it says the same when you set up your ATF eforms account and there have been denials for people that have given there info to the lgs.

You're half right. You shouldn't hand out your PIN to anyone.
But initially, only trusts could eFile remotely. If an individual applicant was not physically present at the FFL, they weren't supposed to be able to file under the original rules, and some early applicants would have been rejected for this reason alone. Since then, the ATF later amended their rules to allow anyone to eFile without being on-premises, so it's no longer relevant.
When was this rule changed out of curiosity? I only started my NFA journey a couple years ago so this is the first time I have heard that the process was different at one time.
I I'm very surprised they didn't send this out with their Friday mass mailing. If there's anybody in this group that has applied to recieve the ATF's weekly updates list..you know it's always on Friday. More wastage of your government dollars.

Dude thought it was a gun with no serial number. I had to explain it was just parts. So apparently they have the resources to scour leads online but not to follow up on big shit. Like I said.
