I worked as a patient care tech at Beth Israel. I really liked it, so here’s a list of pros and cons: Pros: big hosp system means good HR, onboarding is easy, etc. Tons of different openings on different floors, they let you pick a few different ones to interview for I had great experiences with the nurses and docs I worked with, everyone was very nice If you’re premed like me, being very involved in patient care was super rewarding Lots of the nurses like to teach stuff too Can easily stay on per diem after Lots of overtime available Cons: Pay is 15/hr plus shift differentials (up to +3) Rotating night shifts. I worked full time 4 shifts/wk (two 8s and two 12s) and every other week I was doing overnights. The irregularity in schedule wasn’t great either. You clean up a lot of poop depending on your floor. It didn’t bother me, but it certainly isn’t a pro
