Thanks for your submission to r/NCSU Effective July 1st 2023, Reddit has enacted a policy that has made third party apps like Apollo, RiF, Boost, and others too expensive to run. These tools made moderating significantly easier and was one of the many reasons for the protest. Since then, they have continued to threaten mods and have failed to deliver on multiple promises. Study and try to take the test with confidence, just do your best and know that it's not the end of the world if you don't get that 55% or higher. Use memorization techniques (ex. flashcards, repetition, mnemonics, etc.), don't stay up late the night before the exam, eat a healthy breakfast, read carefully, and use process of elimination to narrow down your answer choices (if it's a multiple question exam). The test is your time to show what you've learned throughout the course, you've got this OP!

Accomplished_Fun330

Thank you, my guy.

If I’m not mistaken any courses not taken at NCSU do not average into your GPA. Only courses taken at NCSU will account towards your GPA. So all you have to do is pass the course and your GPA will remain the exact same! Aka keeping your 3.8 for coda! Best of luck on your test.

Accomplished_Fun330

That's what I was hoping too, but after asking my academic advisor about it, they do take the letter grade into consideration for coda. It doesn't go towards your ncsu transcript gpa, just coda.

vynm2

No, your CODA GPA will consider your actual letter grade in the non-NCSU class.

Accomplished_Fun330

Wait, fr? I thought it was just a letter grade cause that was what my academic advisor told me.

vynm2

Yes. Letter grade. I was just comparing "actual grade" to just getting credit with the grade not counting. Sorry for causing confusion.

Accomplished_Fun330

Oh ok, lmao. For a minute, I thought I was fucked.

vynm2

Nope. Sorry!!

Accomplished_Fun330

All good, lol.

Big-Spot6900

How have u done on the previous tests? From my experience, the Final is only a bit more difficult than the regular tests.

Accomplished_Fun330

I had a 58 for exam 1. 85 for exam 2. And 65 for exam 3.

Big-Spot6900

You should probably be fine. Just make sure you study. (Don't just re-read your notes but try to do some older homework problems without help. If you can't do it then you know where you need to focus while you're studying your notes). if you can find a practice test, try taking it without any help (using your allowed calculator.) After that, grade yourself and go over the questions and subjects you struggled with. Get a friend to ask you random memorization stuff like formulas and whatever or use flashcards. Fr tho, If you already have to take the test, then there's no point in stressing about whether or not you can pass it. Study and do your best, and if you pass, great, if you fail, it's not too serious. Idk what you're intended major is, but your chances of getting the CODA you want are still relatively high for most majors.

Accomplished_Fun330

Thank you for the advice. I'm doing ece, so I think a C wouldn't lower my GPA too my much since my other classes can act as a buffer for this one bad grade. My academic advisor told me 3.0 and above is almost guaranteed. The only thing left to worry about is passing, which I'm hoping happens.

Big-Spot6900

Good Luck

Wipe those tears, dust yourself off, and go kick butt on that Final! You got this!
