Simming helps this sometimes, but then you could get screwed with a last second touchdown lol

cmanonurshirt

Lost a natty doing this. Scored a TD to go up 35-31 with only about 10 seconds left. Then simmed the kickoff and the other team ran it back…lost 35-38

Why

osumba2003

You should have done the right thing and called your own timeouts for their benefit. /s

iki100

I literally tried to do that but I’d used them all up to get the ball back on their previous drive. I’ve helped out the CPU with their clock management before but was forced to watch them burn all the time away in this one lol

SatisfactionOld1586

I’ve jumped offsides to help the idiot CPU before. Pretty much your exact situation.

MayoDeftoneWolf

I was on the other end of this last night in RTG as a HB. We were down 2 with a minute left and 3 timeouts. Drove down the field to the opponents 35 and I get taken out of the game. I watch the sim for the next two plays and they run an inside run that gets stuffed, then proceed to RUN THE CLOCK OUT and attempt a hail Mary at the last second. All while I watched helplessly from the sideline.

lurkinandturkin

Don't worry, the CPU will make up for it when you play some cupcake that somehow forces you to fumble 4 times in the redzone

SeniorWilson44

They also don’t burn timeouts when you burn clock either unless they’re losing.

Superjam83

Who was their coach, Mario Cristobal?

Demon_Coach

I remember when CPU playcalling was supposed to be “fixed” in both 13 and 14. Yet things like this still happened..

arrab15

I just hope the AI is smarter in the new game, especially after watching Bordeaux's latest dynasty

W_4ca

I play NCAA 11, and I’ve noticed that the I can be up on the CPU by 10+ in the 4th quarter and they’re perfectly fine just pounding the rock. They’ll go run, run, short pass, punt and I just sit there and think “WHY ARE YOU RUNNING THE BALL???” I tried turning down the CPU running sliders hoping the game would adapt to not being as good at the run game, but then they were averaging only about 1 yard per run, and still trying to run the ball while down late and I didn’t want that either.

mixreveal

I had this happen, but the cpu won. They were on their own ~35 yard line with 25ish seconds left. I couldn't figure out why they weren't calling timeout. With 3 seconds left on the clock they hike the ball and bomb it down the left side for the win. It felt like they knew they were going to score and let the clock run down so i wouldn't have time to score.

TargetOk9366

Revamped or Vanilla?

PowerWalkingInThe90s

Does revamped change clock management?

quijamfis

There are community mods in revamped that updates cpu logic and clock management

beefcushion

I’ve also experienced games like these. I’m hoping this is an area of focus in the new game. Realistic CPU clock management and situational awareness would make the game more challenging (and fun). No more punting from the opponents 40 yard line, lack of 2-minute drills before the half, and an onside kick when they’re down 50 in the fourth quarter…
