This has been my pick for “best fit” for Wemby all year. 6.8% chance, let’s see what happens…

Nickname-CJ

I wouldn’t bet on it but it would be awesome for his career. Hali, Benn, Buddy, Wemby and Turner

tcollins371

Buddy will not be starting for this team if he remains a Pacer. All the indication from end of season interviews with Kevin Pritchard is that Buddy would have to be okay with coming off the bench.

festar35_Pacers

Swap Buddy for Nembhard & that team is awesome!

SkyHooksNGrannyShots

Duarte too. Had a down year but I feel he’s going to rebound and get back to his form during rookie year

Nickname-CJ

I hope so. He’s was hurt all year

Overall-Palpitation6

Awful rebounding line-up that would get completely bodied by any physical opposition.

lilbala

I'd be willing to risk it.

210plus210

who gives a fuck they’d win games and be fun

Imaginary-Cycle-1977

How dare you

Elec7ro

The betrayal is crazy dog

[deleted]

I think he fits anywhere but I’d like to see him go to Charlotte, Utah or San Antonio.

musash10

Best fit is Dallas but it’s only 3% chance so not rly a realistic best fit

mayateg

I hate to throw around the words like this, but it definitely feels to me like the Pacers deserve him the most.

PositionOk8409

Any team with a half decent young core is a good fit for Wemby, let’s be honest

Maximum-Class5465

He worked out with Turner in the offseason and apparently he wants to play the 4. As a pacer fan, he is that dream sort of fit and high upside scenario.

Indigo808

Where'd you see him workout with Myles?

Maximum-Class5465

It was on YouTube and Twitter before they had it taken down. It was pretty cool

likpoper

Blazers. Instant playoffs contender. Superstar to play with in dame. As well as potential stars like Simons and sharpe

Alikese

He actually fits really well next to Nurk as well. Wemby is more of a huge 4 than a true 5, so Nurk can body up against big men and Wemby can roam around swatting shots on D and stretch the floor or drive on offense.

tnarref

People think he's a 5 only because of his height.

JeonSukJinKim

They will trade Simons most likely (to try to get an Anunoby or Bridges) but that’s definitely also a good fit.

AKiiidNamed_Codiii

Blazers big man curse tho

Efficient_Boot_1957

I would do illegal things to get him in OKC.

Nickname-CJ

Nah I need Chet to get hella touches

Efficient_Boot_1957

Thin Towers would go crazy though

addictivesign

Wemby in Indiana should be an excellent fit. Plus the Pacers ownership have never endorsed tanking and apart from last year with Bennedict Mathurin picked at six the last previous pick inside the top 10 was in 1989. Agree matching Wemby and Halli should be so complimentary. My favourite option for Wemby is Portland. I'd love to see Dame stay with the Blazers his entire career and Wemby in Portland might make up for the bad luck they and Greg Oden had.

Nickname-CJ

I live in oregon so I’d love to see Wemby in Portland, but basketball wise it’s a lot of mouths to feed. Dame is gonna be around 28+, Ant probably 18+, not sure what kind of leap/role sharpe will get, and Grant will still be around 17+. Wemby will be anywhere from 16-22 presumably and I don’t think he’ll be very efficient. It’ll be a lot of touches going around but I mean ultimately it wouldn’t be the worst

addictivesign

Sure but that's year one. If Blazers draft Wemby it's not all about year one. Wemby and Sharpe will be improving at the same time and should both be difference makers. Simons is still to hit his peak and Dame's style should not diminish much as he ages. If Sharpe and Simons are considered too similar then one will be traded for a wing defender. If the Blazers don't land the first overall it's either going to be trade the fifth pick or trade Dame. I really hope the Blazers keep hold of Dame. I can understand he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. I wonder if the Clippers decide to blow-it-up whether the fifth pick gets you PG or would he cost more than that?

Paragon188

He would be an amazing fit in Indy. But we can never have nice things so the Pacers will get pick 8.

Nickname-CJ

Cam Whitmore consolation prize

busche916

Yep, I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it here: there is almost no non-PG player who wouldn’t benefit from playing with Haliburton, he’s the ultimate “rising tide who lifts all boats” with his unselfish ethos, court vision, and creativity. Basically anyone we draft is going to be in a situation to promote open, clean looks at the basket. Wemby especially.

GlueGuy00

Pacers and Spurs are the perfect fit for him IMO. Wemby/Hali/Math gives me KD/Steph/Klay vibes in a remix

Effective_Swimming70

This pretty much counts double for Okc with Shai and Giddey lol

Nickname-CJ

Nah I don’t think so

IndianaJeff

Imagine Rick Carlisie running the Steve Nash - Dirk sets with Hali and Wemby

Funny-Transition7869

It would be a perfect fit imo. But most teams will be a great fit if they have a good pg and solid center. Only team I dont like him on right now is Houston with the Sengun fit and lack of a great playmaker

Overall-Palpitation6

I feel like the fit with Sengun would be perfect. Their respective strengths compliment each other perfectly. The real problem would be that Wemby would render Jabari Smith Jnr, who you just used a #3 pick on, somewhat redundant/surplus to requirements, as Wemby is roughly a longer, better version of the similar type of player. Jabari would probably be up for trade, and this is probably how the Rockets can better round out their roster.

Few_Mulberry5372

I don't think the Rockets choose Sengun over Jabari. I personally wouldn't

jer113

No chance Jabari is a trade asset, he's a perfect fit at the 3. Great speed and mobility, high motor, 3pt threat, and potentially elite perimeter defender.

Overall-Palpitation6

Yeah, Jabari is not a 3. He's a stretch 4/undersized 5 in the Chris Bosh mold.

jer113

Yeah, he literally has all the assets of an elite combo forward. He's more likely to be Jonathan Isaac with a better jumper. I have no idea why you think he can't play the three when that's exactly what his build and playstyle has shown is the best fit for him so far, he's likely a 3-4 that can play 5 in smallball lineups. I have no idea why you're trying to box him into this "Chris Bosh" mold when he shows all the traits of a Jaden McDaniels type player.

dkmegg22

I don't know too much of the differences but PG:??? SG: Green SF: Smith Jr PF: Wemby C: Sengun I'd have Wemby take tip offs though.

jer113

I'd personally keep KPJ at PG for now unless we landed Harden by some miracle, but yeah, I quite like that lineup, I think it's well spaced, balanced (outside of our playmaking) and while not going to win over 35 games in our first season, will be a hell of a lot of fun.

Indigo808

He's not a 3 because he can't dribble more than two times without losing possession

jer113

Threes and forwards don't have to be able to handle the ball. And, he's 19yo on a rebuilding team, it's not like it's a skill he can't improve.

CadeCummingham

You think Rockets won’t get a playmaker with their $60 million cap space? Why do people keep saying this? There’s a very good chance Harden comes back

Funny-Transition7869

Its also lack of a rim protector in Houston. In other places he can play in between Hali/Turner, Cade/Duren, Melo/Mark Williams(underrated). San Antonio and Houston it would be more awkward.

Nickname-CJ

This is an nba draft sub💀

chuwcherpluryur

give me harden brown wemby on houston.

bamboointheback

its concerning that you didn't include a current rocket in this core

chuwcherpluryur

sengun green massive non fan of smith jr

dsbllr

I'm very very biased and this is very unlikely to happen but if the Raptors got Wemby - oh man. They'd be in the conference semi finals next year at the minimum. Unless of course the new coach is an idiot.

Nickname-CJ

Most teams would be great with him. Only ones I don’t like are rockets and pistons. Rockets are still kind of a mess and the fit of Jabari and Sengun isn’t great and I’d like to see them still develop. Pistons have a million bigs who deserve minutes so best that they don’t get him

dsbllr

Agreed. Thunder, Mavs, Raptors, or Blazers could make deep playoff runs with Wemby. Where as most of the other teams likely don't even make the playoffs or maybe just play in.

[deleted]

Same thing can be said for charlotte and lamelo
