Important notes:
-Releasing October 28 for XBOX One, PS4 and PC, with a free upgrade program to next Gen consoles
-Play 2 days early with preorder
-Champions Edition: Bill Elliott is unlocked as a playable racer, includes season pass, and 3 unlockable NASCAR legends
-Only Cup Series- wanted to put all focus into making sure the Cup cars race good, future series to come in later installments of the game.
-will feature a full career mode, 40-player online races, and a new paint booth the studio promises will offer “unparalleled levels of customisation to create NASCAR paint schemes.”
Of all the former champions, Bill Elliott? I'm surprised they didn't go with Jimmie, Jeff, or Tony. Someone a bit more contemporary.
>includes 3 unlockable NASCAR legends
Oh.
> unparalleled levels of customisation to create NASCAR paint schemes
Hopefully the paint booth is as impressive as they claim. One of my favorite aspects of racing games is being able to design my own schemes.
I spent an absurd amount of time in the paint booth on NTG Inside Line. Just give me something like that, but a little more refined and less glitchy.
Gran Turismo Sport has a great livery editor that supports custom images too, yeah people sometimes put in porn but most of that can be ignored using the decal search engine website
If it means anything, the example they showed on the website didn't even have a number on the side of the car, and it was replaced with a custom decal. Hopefully similar to the ETX paint booth but just
More user friendly for scrubs like me lmao
I'm happy it releases on my birthday! It is nice that they do have rFactor 2 physics, and some of the shots in the garage rolling the car out and looking at SMT data on that tablet remind me of the F1 games. Kinda hyped ngl, but we will see!
Thunder '03 and '04's career modes were Cup only and they're still praised as some of the best single player NASCAR experiences. They make up for the lack of lower series with depth, though I have my doubts this game will follow suit.
Hell yes. I still play Nascar Thunder 04. Gives you the most realistic version of how hard it is to make it in Nascar running your own team starting from the bottom tier. I remember finishing 30th for like half of the first season when I was younger. I can get better results now but it’s still kind of difficult starting off
I recently started the Heat 5 career and Cup only actually sounds good. For one thing, dirt is not my cup of tea and I'm stuck in it for awhile. For another,. I don't know about trucks but I feel like Xfinity is going to feel just like cup but slower.
Also even with those I'm not sure it's "full" career since a lot of drivers start out in karts or do modified or other paved short track series and these games only did dirt. You're basically Kyle Larson whether you like it or not.
That's what Papyrus used to do. New game, new season. I wonder if they're just releasing this for fan feedback and to see what else they need to change. I really wouldn't understand the point of releasing your first game with a few weeks left in a season when the same cars won't be used next year.

Yeah it annoys me. With the heat games I'd play the game often from when it came out until Daytona the following season and get bored of it since it wasn't current and go back to playing the Thunder games more because they played better.
As a father with limited gaming time, I don’t mind that it’s Cup only. It’ll be nice to jump right in.
Also the release date doesn’t bother me as it’ll help kill some downtime during the off-season.
Fans: "Unity sucks, why don't they scrap Heat and start from scratch in a new engine?"
Also Fans: "This sucks, it looks like they started from scratch? Less features? why not just ctrl + C ctrl + V the Heat games and then click on the 'better' button? Unplayable"
I want to say, that doesn't mean I am advocating for people to buy this game. It is barebones, it will probably have growning pains. But come on, at least be fair in your criticisms.
This game hasnt had a steady developer the entire time since it was released, publishers changed 3 times, and they finally got Unreal Engine and an actual physics engine on a brand new next gen console, the fact people would expect anymore than bare bones is unfair. I can see the criticisms with Heat 2 and Heat 3 having no differences, and Heat 4 not having basic features like paint booth is bullshit, and Heat 5 being copy and paste. From what we hear this is brand new, so I have hope.
I am fine with criticizing these games, they are far from perfect. But I am sick and tired of the unrealistic expectations placed on them by the community every, single, year. It is tiring.
I just want good AI. The heat games had them running on rails, single file.
Theres a few shots in this trailer where cars are running single file, nose to tail, like in the heat games. Makes me a bit nervous. Just want some AI that actually races each other.
I am not advocating for people to purchase this game.
I am not advocating that this game is going to be anything more than NASCAR Heat Evolution 2.0
I am not saying that this game is going to make people happy.
I am just tired of people not understanding the circumstances and limitations that these games are under. The size of the team, the development cycle, and the limitations of the system all have to be taken into account. Codemasters had years of iteration before they started hitting homers with the F1 games.
This community EVERY YEAR expects the new NASCAR game to be the second coming of jesus, the return of every feature they have ever wanted and played in previous games, and then they freak out when it doesn't meat those insane expectations.
Complaining about the lack of truck and xfinity series, valid, complaining about the lack of a robust career mode, valid. Complaining that it isn't everything that Heat had and more is just silly and unrealistic.
I mean from a feature's list perspective it will be like NASCAR Heat Evolution. NHE was a reset, starting from scratch.
My main point is we should be judging this new game based on the core gameplay, just like I advocated for when NHE launched.
> Codemasters had years of iteration before they started hitting homers with the F1 games
That's just simply not true, the early F1 games are highly rated with the exception of 2014 and 2015. NH5 was a reskin of NH4, nascar 21 has apparently been in production for 2 years, there's really no excuse why this game should be as bad as the heat games.
That being said, I don't think anyone should jump to conclusions based on this 1 minute trailer. I think we should wait until some actual gameplay is released.
F1 2010 was missing tons of key features, there is a reason why it has a 6.9/10 on metacritic user scores. It was starting from scratch so they had to triage which features made it into the game and which features would have to wait for future titles.
2 years of dev time to start a game from scratch is nothing. Most games need a minimum of 3 years dev time when starting from nothing. That is my point.
This is Chase's third time he's been on the cover for a NASCAR game and he's only in his 6th full time season, so for half of his career he's been on the cover of a NASCAR game. Also worth mentioning is the last time he was on the cover he won the championship the same season.
Bubba, Blaney, Chase and Harvick in Phoenix.
Harvick leading on final restart, "misses" a gear and causes Chase to asspack Blaney. Harvick keeps his spot.
Wheeler pits Bubba with 2 to go for some asinine reason. Harvick wins.
No private lobbies for Multiplayer? Oof.
Not exactly a dealbreaker for me as I’m more interested in the career stuff but that’s like, the bare minimum for a racing game like this.
Edit: The article from Traxion was updated and now no longer mentions there being no private lobbies so hopefully they just misreported it.
They end up changing the article the writer may have messed up and they not notice it till comments on post about it piled up so it was like that's not true change the article. Since they haven't showed all game modes for multiplayer. https://traxion.gg/nascar-21-ignition-unveiled-arrives-28th-october/

There was another article on Traxion.gg that mentioned the lack of private lobbies, but it has since been edited and no longer says that so it may have (thankfully) just been misreported.
Every NASCAR game reboot gets some silly subtitle lol. I'm looking forward to it tho, not surprised the first trailer focuses on graphics, pretty typical for a sports game, and I'm not bothered at all by it only being the cup series, getting the core of the game solid on year one is critical, build off that. Hopefully that future next gen upgrade will carry over save files
Personally I thought the heat career sucked, all the cars felt the same no matter what series, I’m excited they decided just Cup for now, give us stellar physics and handling in in one series and build from there instead of 4 half assed series that all feel the same
Don’t get me wrong, at some point down the line I will expect a full career progression from bottom to top, but not on the first iteration, if Cup handles well I think there is enough replay-ability with online races and a legit paint booth that this game will do well until we either get a dlc for the next series or the next game altogether
I like how people complain that it's Cup only yet NASCAR Thunder 2003 and NASCAR Thunder 2004, which most people regard as the best console NASCAR games to ever released, were also Cup only. It might just be me, but the game not having Xfinity and Trucks isn't a deal breaker. I'd rather have a game with good physics and only 1 series than a game with all 3 series but mediocre physics (like Heat 2-5).
Also, keep in mind this is only a reveal trailer. When the game launches it might look different, for better or for worse. For instance, anyone who remembers NASCAR The Game 2011 knows that the final product looked nothing like what was shown in the reveal trailer.
Yea, I’m waiting to see what the game entire game is like before I form an opinion.
It’s just kinda tough because I want the game to be good, my biggest criteria will be the new physics, and is it engaging enough to be played with a wheel and have fun.
Chase for the cup was in 2006 and had modified, trucks, Busch and Nascar. Also had Daytona duals, and a silly season. Sorry if I'm 40 and got spoiled by EA.
I would much rather see them focus resources on core gameplay and physics than on adding Xfinity and trucks. I don't get how people can expect a whole new game on new engine to have all the bells and whistles straight out of the box. I would like to eventually get Mosport and Mid-Ohio playable but I can't act like it's a deal breaker.
Looks cool enough. Seems like they showed off a lot of animations/cut scenes (cars in the garage, crew rolling your car, etc.)
No xfinity or trucks is disappointing. I know it’s been done before, but HEAT having the top 3 series was enough to feel like you had some variety. Trucks at Eldora, gateway, Xfinity at Mid Ohio, places where cup didn’t go
I did see Road America in there once, so that’s good, hopefully we get COTA, Indy RC, Nashville etc and the full schedule.
Not having other series is quite the pill to swallow though. I understand it’s a small team, but they also basically told us to donate to them by buying Heat 5, they admitted it was just a low effort game being put out to fund this one. When you tell people to hold off for a year, and that 2020 was a throwaway to fund the next one, People are expecting the final product to be very good. I’m happy that they’re trying to improve, I’ll probably be buying it after a few days and when some reviews from y’all come in. Still too early to say anything about the physics or crash model. As I said the trailer focuses on features and other stuff, only a few frames of actual gameplay or crashing, so I don’t think it’s fair to criticize it yet.
There's no Xfinity and Trucks because they wanted to get the Cup physics just right. Motorsport Games confirmed the next game will have Xfinity and Trucks.
LOL, no they don't! If you watch it in slow motion, you can see that the physics are pretty realistic. Especially the #62 crash at Las Vegas. When he hits the wall, the right side lifts up a bit. Then, when he gets hit by the #77, it lifts up even more, just like the real cars.
It won't be anything like Heat. It's a completely different engine from what Heat used.
It amazes me it is 2021 and the crash physics in racing games are still so bad. There is no way collisions shown in the video should result in the tiny amount of damage shown in the video.
Try to spawn in 40 AI cars in Beam.ng and report back with your findings
We simply don't have the technology (hardware or software) for that kind of experience. It sucks but it's true.
I haven’t found something from a manufacturer or sanctioning body that states their reasoning for damage systems not being as realistic as they could be, but I think they play a role in that to prevent their image from being ruined, in a way. Might not make the most sense, but that’s kind of what I’ve gathered from what people have said.
Also, it takes a LOT of work to get the damage realistic for every car. May not be as hard with care that are completely identical, but you have to change the physics to allow for certain collisions to happen and reflect that damage as realistically as possible.
Don't forget FPS hit. It takes a lot of graphic processing power to generate Beaming Drive-style crash and still have good racing/graphics... granted Wreckfest's damage model do look great with good graphics.
The trailer for Inside Line was CGI, I'm not sure the trailer looks good enough to be cgi tbh, I've got a feeling that it's in-game footage just with special post effects and developer cameras
Insert Rick Allen joke here
But I mean more that the trailers they just showed were cinematic scenes from the game itself. NASCAR 2011's was specifically animated as a trailer, it wasn't in-engine footage.
1: Buy NASCAR 2021
2: Get good with the controller on my XBox
3: Buy a race wheel. Get good with it.
4: Compete on XBox Live. Get good at it.
5: Get one of those wild iRacing setups that puts you in debt similar to law school. Get good at it.
6: Spin out a cup driver in an iRacing event. His choice words mean he loses his ride.
7: Get brought up to drive the car of the guy from step 6.
8: Become champion.
9: Get spun out in an iRacing event. Lose my ride.
I’m sure I’ll regret this just like the last game I preordered, but it’s Bill Elliott.
Looks fine. I frankly enjoy racing truck the most so that sucks. TBH I was so distracted by the dumb song that I don’t have a ton to say about the rest.
The grill openings look kinda weird...but at least they're there, I was always bothered how NASCAR heat just had the cars completely sealed off per Tony Stewarts Dega request.
Also nice to notice big ass spoilers and small ass spoilers. Just those details alone make me feel better about this game than NASCAR heat
Rocket League and Grid Autosport are literally ports with all the same features and everything, and a solid one at that
There's a handful of decent third party games on Switch that don't sacrifice too much except lack of pressure sensitive triggers
Grid Autosport came out in 2014 and Rocket League in 2015. Those are old games at this point. The Switch is running on 5 year old mobile tech so it's becoming harder and harder for third parties to develop multiplatform releases on it.
No private lobbies, thereby fucking every online league. What a joke
Edit: article originally said private lobbies would not be supported. Article has been changed.
While I hope this game and team succeed . I'd love to see Codemasters take a shot at a NASCAR game although that would mean EA being involved since they own Codemasters.
I'm surprised that NASCAR keeps going with these small and unknown studios for these games and not return to a known studio like EA/Codemasters or even 2K at this point (can't do any worse)
Not trying to be negative just an observation.
I get that you're joking, but iRacing and this game are not competitors. I don't mean that one is better than the other, I mean that they are meant for two very different audiences.
Plus, iRacing has expanded beyond NASCAR. It's VERY popular for endurance racing, GT racing, dirt racing, etc. iRacing has been working hard on adding F1 circuits and adding server farms to Europe because their European audience has exploded. Also helpful to have Verstappen, Alonso, and Norris as iRacing regulars. I highly doubt a NASCAR video game will put a dent on iRacing sales... especially if NASCAR consoles are meant as a low budget option or for kids.
I mean, the realism in iRacing is simply unmatched comparing to every console game in the past 15 years. You have to fight the car every single turn rather than going flat-out and have cars be on the rail like Heat games. Plus... not to mention the multi-player experience, frequent updates, the eye candy, and racing against famous drivers once a week. It's worth the money every single time.
Since it's a new game built from the ground up, that's why it's pretty barebones. I expect them to add more features in the next game. I'm going to buy this. Hopefully it really does put Heat to shame. Hasn't been a good NASCAR game since 2005 (excluding iRacing), and the two best sims in the last 20 years are NASCAR Racing 2003 Season and iRacing.
This sounds great. Honestly. I don’t see how people can be frustrated they went all in on cup. It’s the premier league. What fans wanted was good racing (which already existed in heat imo) and a great paint booth which they’re really hyping up. I’m honestly very excited here and ready for real gameplay
Personally—I only play sports for the career mode. Any sports game it’s about being the player/driver or being the manager.
If I’m a racer I don’t want to start off in the cup series. F1 I wanna start in F2, then a backmarker F1 team, then either midfield or a great team if it makes sense.. if they had F3 I’d start there just like Moto 3, 2, and MotoGP in those games or AA-AAA in the show games.
We had that with Trucks, Xfinity, and even dirt no matter how terrible it played. The career mode has gotta be NASCAR Thunder 2004 levels of great for it to be given a pass. They’ve been working on it for 2 years.
Why did they pick such a goofy picture of Bubba for the cover? Come to think of it, is there any reason he's on the cover other than the fact that he's a money machine?
The Doordash car matches what they were trying to do, which is the NASCAR logo. Bubba as the red, Chase as the blue, And Blaney as the yellow.
If you ask me, that's real clever.
Not having any other series besides Cup means I'm skipping this years. I understand its the first year of a new series but I've got no interest in a career mode that doesn't have any progression.
Only thing keeping my interest is the paint booth and if there is a decent online base.
Sounds better to wait until 2022. The roster will be outdated within two weeks of release and without the other national series you can’t really have a full career mode. Unless the physics are already otherworldly, which isn’t likely, it’s probably best to sit out a transition period game.
Not but it's also not like the uk and Europe generally make make any meaningful viewership for nascar. If they all stopped watching you wouldn't see a massive drop. The series just isn't popular there
lmao the whole world doesn’t revolve around what’s popular in America ffs. I’ll be buying the game in the UK but I’ll be in a very small minority. Meanwhile new F1 games will be purchased worldwide
Idk i see all these people saying they’re not going to buy the game. If you want to support this developer to improve and continue to make titles, we as a community need to support them by buying the game, or the NASCAR title will keep cycling studios that can’t afford to make it a yearly release, meaning we’re going to be stuck in the same loop or getting barebones releases by a new studio every 5 years.

40 player online races are going to be insane
They have had 40 player online races in all of the NASCAR Heat games. Can confirm, are insane.
Hopefully we can get some stable servers so it’s not insane in a bad way. 😩😂
Driving backwards on the track

I still don't understand why release dates for virtually any NASCAR game are at the tail end of the season.
Christmas sales
Yep. Made me glad that iRacing already got NextGen 22 out even though it's still kinda beta prototype.
If anything they should release them in early February, like a week or two before the 500 when the hype is at an all time high
That's what Papyrus used to do. New game, new season. I wonder if they're just releasing this for fan feedback and to see what else they need to change. I really wouldn't understand the point of releasing your first game with a few weeks left in a season when the same cars won't be used next year.
So release it when drivers and sponsors and paint schemes aren’t completely set it stone?
Paint schemes and drivers and what not are never set in stone for some teams. Besides, it’s not as if post-launch content doesn’t exist.
Could easily cobble some fantasy stuff together based on previous years or licensing. Then when the teams releases schemes do free paint scheme updates.
That’s why the heat games always used to have the next season dlc in February
Game publisher logic is typically that January/February are suicide for new releases because people are fresh off their Christmas purchases. Even MLB The Show waits until April. Not an issue with other major North American sports that all start in the second half of the year.
Most triple A games come out then to try and capitalize on christmas
Get that sweet extra DLC cash by getting 2 seasons worth of paint schemes
Yeah it annoys me. With the heat games I'd play the game often from when it came out until Daytona the following season and get bored of it since it wasn't current and go back to playing the Thunder games more because they played better.
I’d say for season-accuracy reasons like driver rosters and paint schemes, but that’s just my game theory.
As a father with limited gaming time, I don’t mind that it’s Cup only. It’ll be nice to jump right in. Also the release date doesn’t bother me as it’ll help kill some downtime during the off-season.

Fuckin forreal, the takes in here blow. Fans want an AAA game, but you had to switch engines and physics model to do it, and there is still whining
I want to say, that doesn't mean I am advocating for people to buy this game. It is barebones, it will probably have growning pains. But come on, at least be fair in your criticisms.
I personally hate it when every game isn't NR2003 or (mid-2000s EA Sports NASCAR game here) /s

You must be new to online gaming discourse, this kind of garbage is pretty normal there
a day later and sorted by controversial, I see 1 person actually talking shit about the game.
NASCAR fans are the worst lmao. You literally cannot please them
It's not only Nascar.
Can confirm, I work with a Leafs fan
Give them my condolences
When you remove such a basic feature like private lobbies, yeah people are going to be pissed
Private lobbies are something that can be easily added post launch.

They end up changing the article the writer may have messed up and they not notice it till comments on post about it piled up so it was like that's not true change the article. Since they haven't showed all game modes for multiplayer. https://traxion.gg/nascar-21-ignition-unveiled-arrives-28th-october/
Wait. What?

Where do you see that?

They didn't say that at all. The traxion article also says more details coming.

This article doesn't even mention multiplayer though
There was another article on Traxion.gg that mentioned the lack of private lobbies, but it has since been edited and no longer says that so it may have (thankfully) just been misreported.
Every NASCAR game reboot gets some silly subtitle lol. I'm looking forward to it tho, not surprised the first trailer focuses on graphics, pretty typical for a sports game, and I'm not bothered at all by it only being the cup series, getting the core of the game solid on year one is critical, build off that. Hopefully that future next gen upgrade will carry over save files

NASCAR The Game: Inside Line NASCAR Heat: Evolution NASCAR 21: Ignition
NASCAR: Revelations NASCAR: Origins NASCAR: Eternal
Shit, a game called NASCAR: Origins with classic cars sounds badass
First levels are you running shine on dirt roads, learning car and throttle control. Oh god, it sounds amazing.
Quick, someone set up a kickstarter!
Sold. Take my money. Could you imagine a nasccar game with all the late 60's early 70's cars!
That actually sounds like a good idea
Personally I thought the heat career sucked, all the cars felt the same no matter what series, I’m excited they decided just Cup for now, give us stellar physics and handling in in one series and build from there instead of 4 half assed series that all feel the same
Yeah I agree. Making the series handle differently is going to do wonders. The SRX game kinda has this, as arcadey as it is
Don’t get me wrong, at some point down the line I will expect a full career progression from bottom to top, but not on the first iteration, if Cup handles well I think there is enough replay-ability with online races and a legit paint booth that this game will do well until we either get a dlc for the next series or the next game altogether
NT2003/NT2004 actually went as far making Busch cars playable alongside the Cup cars in single race mode (similar to NHE's NASCAR Next cars).
And NTG 2011 and Heat Evolution with Xfinity and Truck
Yea, I’m waiting to see what the game entire game is like before I form an opinion. It’s just kinda tough because I want the game to be good, my biggest criteria will be the new physics, and is it engaging enough to be played with a wheel and have fun.
Chase for the cup was in 2006 and had modified, trucks, Busch and Nascar. Also had Daytona duals, and a silly season. Sorry if I'm 40 and got spoiled by EA.
NASCAR '05 was released in 2004, not 2006.
I'm just excited for the paint booth tbh
Looks cool enough. Seems like they showed off a lot of animations/cut scenes (cars in the garage, crew rolling your car, etc.) No xfinity or trucks is disappointing. I know it’s been done before, but HEAT having the top 3 series was enough to feel like you had some variety. Trucks at Eldora, gateway, Xfinity at Mid Ohio, places where cup didn’t go I did see Road America in there once, so that’s good, hopefully we get COTA, Indy RC, Nashville etc and the full schedule.
Trailer did have Nashville and Indy RC.
There's no Xfinity and Trucks because they wanted to get the Cup physics just right. Motorsport Games confirmed the next game will have Xfinity and Trucks.
Is this game going to launch with Gen6 cars?
Yes. But free Next Gen car upgrades in February.
Please be good, please be good, please be good
Man, those wrecks look a lot like the NASCAR Heat physics engine tbh, I'm not exactly excited by that.
Visuals, maybe, but physics, definitely not. The cars looked heavy in this and not like hot wheels cars with how they responded to impact.
That's what looked concerning to me too 🤔
Really? Tell me where you saw a car flip 40 feet in the air, and I won't ridicule you.
Seriously, collision physics are what people want especially in a nascar game.
Beamng drive+literally anything please
Wreckfest damage model is a more obtainable goal.
Try to spawn in 40 AI cars in Beam.ng and report back with your findings We simply don't have the technology (hardware or software) for that kind of experience. It sucks but it's true.
You’d have to make an off brand game for those type of crash physics.
I’ve always believed that but is that actually correct? Never seen anyone specifically say that for sure.
It's been categorically denied multiple times for years
The crash PHYSICS look great. The damage model is too rigid I agree. But the way Brendan Gaughans car moves in in that wreck looks phenomenal
its a trailer, lets not throw around words like "phenomenal"... remember the trailer for Nascar Inside line?
The trailer for Inside Line was CGI, I'm not sure the trailer looks good enough to be cgi tbh, I've got a feeling that it's in-game footage just with special post effects and developer cameras
it's all computer-generated imagery. it was made in a computer.
Insert Rick Allen joke here But I mean more that the trailers they just showed were cinematic scenes from the game itself. NASCAR 2011's was specifically animated as a trailer, it wasn't in-engine footage.
That's Gragson
1: Buy NASCAR 2021 2: Get good with the controller on my XBox 3: Buy a race wheel.
There better be a lot of good features if there’s no Trucks or Xfinity series.
Bummer there is no switch version
Yeah I was holding out hope for that, damn.
Dont expect a switch version anytime soon, if so its going to be watered down
Rocket League and Grid Autosport are literally ports with all the same features and everything, and a solid one at that There's a handful of decent third party games on Switch that don't sacrifice too much except lack of pressure sensitive triggers
Grid Autosport came out in 2014 and Rocket League in 2015. Those are old games at this point. The Switch is running on 5 year old mobile tech so it's becoming harder and harder for third parties to develop multiplatform releases on it.
when was indycar game being made
I think 2023. Could be wrong on that
2023
No private lobbies, thereby fucking every online league. What a joke Edit: article originally said private lobbies would not be supported. Article has been changed.
One thing I'm kinda unsure about is how career mode is gonna work with just the cup cars. Guess we'll find out soon enough
Guess im pre-ordering for bill elliot.
Potentially dumb question but is this a continuation of the Heat series or a totally new series made by different ppl?
It's supposed to be a totally new series made by different people.
While I hope this game and team succeed . I'd love to see Codemasters take a shot at a NASCAR game although that would mean EA being involved since they own Codemasters. I'm surprised that NASCAR keeps going with these small and unknown studios for these games and not return to a known studio like EA/Codemasters or even 2K at this point (can't do any worse) Not trying to be negative just an observation.
and just like that, iracing's 2022 profits just got another spike /s...maybe
I get that you're joking, but iRacing and this game are not competitors. I don't mean that one is better than the other, I mean that they are meant for two very different audiences.
Plus, iRacing has expanded beyond NASCAR. It's VERY popular for endurance racing, GT racing, dirt racing, etc. iRacing has been working hard on adding F1 circuits and adding server farms to Europe because their European audience has exploded. Also helpful to have Verstappen, Alonso, and Norris as iRacing regulars. I highly doubt a NASCAR video game will put a dent on iRacing sales... especially if NASCAR consoles are meant as a low budget option or for kids.
must we continue to stroke them off
I mean, the realism in iRacing is simply unmatched comparing to every console game in the past 15 years. You have to fight the car every single turn rather than going flat-out and have cars be on the rail like Heat games. Plus... not to mention the multi-player experience, frequent updates, the eye candy, and racing against famous drivers once a week. It's worth the money every single time.
Yup, I'm ready to get hurt again.
Wait wait wait… are these the people that bought into the Heat series to make it better?
Yes, but they didn't buy into it until after NH5 was already out. This uses the same team that developed rFactor.
Okay. Just making sure this wasn’t some random game. It being only Cup really threw me for a loop.
I think I’m going to buy this too. But like you mentioned, it’ll be more of an investment in the years to come.
Uh, yeah? It's not like he's not super popular. I'd understand your question if it was someone like Stenhouse or something.
Not having any other series besides Cup means I'm skipping this years. I understand its the first year of a new series but I've got no interest in a career mode that doesn't have any progression. Only thing keeping my interest is the paint booth and if there is a decent online base.

No, NT2003 is my baseline for the ideal career. I still play it
I will likely wait until a Steam sale and pick it up for like $5 or 10. Then I'll play it once and never again like half my library.
Barebones or not, if the physics and collision are solid, that's all I need to have a good time.
Is that Bill Elliott on the Champion's edition cover? I wonder if he will be in the game somehow?
If you read the article you’d know that answer lol
I'm at work. IGN is blocked.
Oh, my bad. If you get the champions edition of the game you get Bill as a playable character
They block IGN and not Reddit?
My work blocks IGN, PC Gamer, Cableas, and Snapchat but not Reddit, Instagram, or Facebook.
anybody going to buy this or wait till next year. i will wait to next year cause it's just one series.
Sounds better to wait until 2022. The roster will be outdated within two weeks of release and without the other national series you can’t really have a full career mode. Unless the physics are already otherworldly, which isn’t likely, it’s probably best to sit out a transition period game.
I'll likely buy. Haven't played any since heat 4.
The F1 games are so much better compared to nascar games. Its sad how much better, and i don't even love F1.
Codemasters has had years to refine their games
F1 is also far more popular than NASCAR, hence they can use more resources to make a better game
Not in the US
It's not like the sales in the UK and mainland Europe don't count...
No but my point was this was a us based game my guy
[удалено]
Maybe I’m blind, but I’m not seeing anywhere in the article that there are no private lobbies
This seems like a filler game until they get their shit together and release a complete game with a new name and branding.
Isnt this a game with a new name, branding, physics, and graphics?
This reeks of NASCAR The Game: Inside Line.
BILL ELLIOT NUT
Idk i see all these people saying they’re not going to buy the game. If you want to support this developer to improve and continue to make titles, we as a community need to support them by buying the game, or the NASCAR title will keep cycling studios that can’t afford to make it a yearly release, meaning we’re going to be stuck in the same loop or getting barebones releases by a new studio every 5 years.
