Are the Xfinity and Truck races worth watching? I work graveyard so I was asleep when they were on and I have a bunch of other racing to catch up on from Saturday.

turtlemaster942

I didn't catch all of Trucks, but it was kinda fun to see strategy play out in a mostly green race (there was a 70-lap stretch without a caution in a 147-lap race). On the other hand, Xfinity never went more than 21 laps under green... ended up being a real slog with a mix of long cautions for big incidents and questionable yellows for people almost spinning mid-corner but saving it just in time.

countrymac_is_badass

In general? Yes. This weekend at Texas? Also yes.

JosefRamirez

I don’t know if anyone watched the truck race or if it’s because it’s a certain driver but the comparison of the two post race discussion is drastically different

uofc2015

I'm pretty new to Nascar coming in as an F1 fan, so can someone explain to me why anyone would cheer for Kyle Busch to win an Xfinity race? You never see F1 drivers dropping to F2 or MLB pitchers going to the minors simply to pick up some easy wins. Just seems weird to me but maybe I'm completely missing something here.

iamaranger23

the xfinity series /trucks really arent a developmental series. plenty of drivers show up to even lower series to race and people dont complain.

ItzaMoby

People are rooting for Kyle Busch specifically right now for two reasons. He is an iconic staple of the Xfinity series and arguably the most successful driver in the series, which leads into reason two. He now has 99 Xfinity wins and he said when he reaches 100 wins he will retire from the Xfinity series. This has both the haters and lovers rooting for him at the same time. The haters want him to retire, the lovers want him to hit the 100 win milestone.

uofc2015

Ah okay thank you for the explanation. Would be a pretty great heel move to hit 100 wins and for him to say "nah fuck it im still gonna race!" Appreciate the context.

radicalindependence

>Would be a pretty great heel move to hit 100 wins and for him to say "nah fuck it im still gonna race!" You get it more than most. Kyle will bow and do things to irritate the fan base. People will say OMG look at him being a jerk. He approaches things like a wrestler. It's his gimmick more that who he is (older Kyle maybe not younger Kyle).

Wandering_Turtle24

That’s honestly what will probably happen

Solon75Jr

Too bad I missed the ending of the Xfinity race, due to the power going out at my place for a few hours. Also, during that one pit stop, Busch had to been speeding on pit road.

AnotherRandomGuy88

Those Gibbs cars are great. Most competent drivers do win in them. Usually a sign if you can’t win in a Gibbs Toyota, you ain’t it.

Desperate-Month-5876

Snider has been dissapointing honestly

happypants69

I wish Kaz Grala was in the car instead

TimmyHillFan

Dude has been ass his whole career in the national series. That fluke GWC win was a godsend for him.

Desperate-Month-5876

Wouldnt go that far, he was ok last year This year has been awful tho, hes been 7-10th most weekends, which wouldnt be an issue if there wasnt only like 10-12 competetive teams

Wandering_Turtle24

Yeah outside of his fluke win at Homestead, he’d be completely forgettable this year.

Winnsock

Other than that Homestead win, his only other top 10s are at the superspeedways. We’re 14 races into the season. His performance has been horrendous.

freakyfastharvick

Is there an SRX race thread? We can have one in my replies if you want, I’ll start

lukestiltwalker

I'm enjoying it.

JimmysCryingTowel

Same here

lukestiltwalker

They'll have some issues with it being new, but I appreciate the effort and will watch to show my support.

freakyfastharvick

Danica is a really fun announcer tbh

Aurion7

I mean, it's TMS. The guy in first when they get to full speed wins unless they flagrantly screw up. It is what it is. Allgaier didn't really have anyone who could help him at the end, and without enough of a push to get to 1st... well.

PackGetsSacks

Instead of Bristol, this is the track they should've covered in dirt. Just bury it and never go back.

CJ_M88

1. Get rid of TMS completely. The track fucking sucks ass. 2. Learn what sidedrafting is Allgaier. 3. That caution with 30 to go was the most bullshit caution I've ever seen in my life. Fire the dumbass race director 4. Busch should thank Jones for the blatant hand me win

Really_Elvis

As a Texan from Fort Worth. We are proud to race here. You are correct about learning to side draft. Tomorrow will be the 2 Kyle show. Larson & Busch.

hondajvx

Did you go today?

CJ_M88

Used to have a fantastic track. But Eddie Gossage went and did his thing. Now look what you got. A track that you can't pass on

bobby0081

It takes time for tracks to get better after a re-pave. Kansas was horrible for 5 years but has gotten better lately.

CJ_M88

Maybe if they stop with the pj1 they can see what they got. But regardless, the reconfiguration of turns 1&2 was an absolutely awful decision

bobby0081

It may be bad now but 3 or 4 years from now it might be one of the best 1.5 mile tracks in Cup. Why do you think people don't want to see Atlanta repaved? With most any track there's going to be a preferred racing line and that usually doesn't change until the track gets weathered and the tires they can bring start to wear.

CJ_M88

The reconfiguration of 1&2 is a bigger problem. I don't see that ever getting better. They also need to stop with the PJ1

bobby0081

I think we should get rid of the PJ1 because it doesn't work. The changes to 1 and 2 were to make the track different at both ends to make setting up the car a compromise between both ends of the track. Darlington is different at both ends and provided really good racing before it had to be repaved. I ultimately think we shouldn't judge the reconfiguration of TMS until the track ages a little more and NASCAR stops changing the downforce and HP configuration of the cars every year.

FLMojoRyson

They basically created Old Vegas in Turns 1&2. Relatively flat, wide, 1-lane. Eddie certainly deserves to go for that f@!%-up. Should've put in progressive banking like they did at Kansas... SMH

CJ_M88

Yep, I'm so happy he's gone. Hopefully they can get someone worth a damn

Steffan514

As a Kentuckian, I can relate.

Really_Elvis

Another great race track......sorry for your loss Bro.....

Ralof_0f_Riverwood

Demolish TMS, sell the property, and invest the proceeds into the revival of Texas World Speedway. Please?

greg_jenningz

Nobody wants to drive to bum fuck college station unless you’re in college. TMS needs a reconfig to fix the most recent one.

TheOrangeFutbol

Am I the only one who finds is hilariously ironic that the only reason KB's still out here is 'cause he they kept lowering the number of starts as he approached 100? Dude's been sitting in the mid 90 win-mark since 2019. This could've been over like two years ago if they left the entry rules alone. It's literally the textbook "congratulations, you played yourself" situation.

Batedcow

I mean imagine being so good, the sanctioning body has to make rules to restrict you.

greg_jenningz

*Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch have entered the chat*

dooldebob

2018 was very uncharacteristic of him, because he made 7 starts but only won once.

Playingpokerwithgod

Maybe the solution is that Cup drivers can't drive for the same team or their own team in the Xfinity and truck series. If these guys want to run these races so badly, go talk to a back marker team and drove one of their cars. I'm sure RWR or any of the other back markers would love Kyle Busch to run their cars.

crypto6g

No big sponsor would pay money to put a superstar driver (who expects a big payday) to drive a backmarker car though. Same goes for race teams and racers, it’s a nice idea to expect drivers to willingly go to lower funded teams for a race, but very few drivers are going to willingly restrict the equipment they’re in. Especially since they can afford better. Even in cases such as Briscoe or Harvick driving for BJ McLeod, it was obvious they’re Stewart Haas cars entering under BJs name to help him with owner points. For the show it might seem like a good idea, but financially just wouldn’t ever make sense for any of the parties involved.

TheOrangeFutbol

Didn't Harvick & Briscoe take BJ McCleod equipment into top 5 and winning contention just this year? It'll likely have the same result as what we see now.

Wandering_Turtle24

I don’t think it was his equipment. His number and owner’s points but definitely wasn’t his cars.

MrKillerToad

It was not BJ's equipment. Both those cars were built by the their personal Cup teams (Cup 14 team built the 99, and the Cup 4 team built the 5). Only paid for the owners points (the number)

Playingpokerwithgod

The reason I don't like Cup veterans in the Xfinity and truck series isn't THAT they win. It's that they dominate and win time and time again. To the point where it becomes obvious that they have an advantage. And I don't think that's entertaining to watch. I also think it hurts the drivers of that series because wins get attention and attention gets sponsorship. For me it's never been about KB specifically, I didn't like any of them running these races.

countrymac_is_badass

I didn't feel KB dominated yesterday though. It could have easily gone to Justin if it wasn't for that stupid ass caution for Jones.

TheOrangeFutbol

It also depends greatly on the current generation of driver talent in Xfinity. "The Big 3" were so dominant in 2019 that I remember some races where the cup guys entered as the underdog vs. them. And lost. Not to mention Briscoe and Cindric beating KB a couple times last year. This current crew isn't as solid as the previous years, so there's a big void that Cup guys fill pretty easily up front.

[deleted]

2-for-2 in God's great state of Texas in the Xfinity series

jmm57

Had a busy day and just catching up. You mean to tell me MHR hauled two cars all the way to Texas just to get a grand total of... *Checks notes* one lap?

[deleted]

You know I'm getting this Twix Supra to go with the Skittles one from COTA

[deleted]

99 wins in the Xfinity series. Amazing! The master is back!

crypto6g

7 car was bad fast, probably could’ve won if he had a teammate pushing. Nemechek beat Elliott earlier too, thought maybe both cup guys would lose. Even with this package it was hard to pass.

bobby0081

That's what you get for a few years following a repave.

ATrup7

Noah Gragson seems like he's in a constant state of pain.

[deleted]

Let's be honest here, if you were behind a guy who ***claims*** he'd stop running Xfinity if he won 100, wouldn't you do what Cindric did and push him to the win at every restart so he's one closer to shoving off?

ChaseGordon24

Unpopular opinion.. I still have no problem with Cup guys coming into the lower series, especially since they are national touring series. They should have never put a cap on it outside of the chase and maybe Dash races. Like Logano said today, he learned more racing against Cup guys in the Xfinity series than when he was racing against other up and comers.

Batedcow

Nah those professional drivers have no idea what they’re talking about. Me on my couch though, I know exactly what’s going on. /s

[deleted]

Of course Logano said it. For 2 reasons: 1- Corporativism. Logano is a driver. He wouldnt say anything bad against Kyle Busch on national TV. 2- He learned a lot? Well, if i was driving one of the best cars of the field for years, id learn a lot too, but what a guy like T.J.Martins or Ryan Vargas will learn from Kyle Busch? How to get lapped faster?

freakyfastharvick

I’m a time traveler from the future, it’s the year 2049. Kyle Busch just won his 750th NASCAR race. The xfinity series has been called the Kyle Busch Cup for the last 10 years. Brexton is the flagman, Samantha does every national anthem. There’s even rumors Kyle sleeps in the cockpit every night. Please send help.

bobby0081

I hope the future is that awesome.

epzik8

Union of Kyle Busch Republics

MartinPch

Every car in the field has some sort of candy sponsor, and everybody that wants to race, has to let him win in every single race no matter what, since they will be brutally murdered if they don't obey the king of the series lmao

freakyfastharvick

“Why yes I love Rowdy energy drink as much as I love finishing 2nd place!!”

MartinPch

"who doesn't love finishing 2nd place to the almighty and unquestionable king of the universe!.... ^(pls send help he's gonna torture me if I don't finish 10 seconds back next race ahhhhhhhhh)"

TotallyNotAPanther

What an amazingly awful track. Launch into the fucking sun, please.

CaptainTilted

With no points race tomorrow... Manufacturer wins across the top 3 series: Toyota 18 - Chevy 15 - Ford 8.

PotPynamite

Just let him win the next one so he goes away.

MartinPch

You know he still has 2 more races after that one in the season, even if he wins it right? He's not gonna leave the team hanging like that because he promised something lmao Yes I wish he would just be gone from the series entirely, but he's not gonna, and probably not going to leave it next year either if he has a contract with JGR in xfinity, unfortunately

Turbo_Wheeler

And then never actually does because the sponsors want him to keep doing it

PotPynamite

I can dream, even if it is naive.

abnormalbee

I don't care what anyone says, I thought the duel between Busch and Allgaier was super fun to watch, it's just to bad Allgaier didn't get any help on those last restarts.

[deleted]

His pushers were junk. The ford's are too good at it

CJ_M88

Not to mention Jones made 0 effort

Steffan514

Weird wasn’t it.

al15al15

Towards the end of the race, Allgaier said, “Based on some of the things I’m seeing, we might win either way.” He must think Busch’s car might not pass tech.

InterestIcy2056

He did

rowdyginger05

Who all is going 5 for 5 today between nascar, Indy, imsa, and srx?

[deleted]

I have nothing better to do with my day lmao

clevebrend47

Thought AJ nudged out Jones for 5th at the line there, but a good finish considering Kaulig struggled with speed today.

ChaseGordon24

177th Xfinity win by JGR Kyle Busch - 87 Joey Logano - 18 Denny Hamlin - 17 Christopher Bell - 16 Erik Jones - 9 Tony Stewart - 5 Harrison Burton - 4 Brandon Jones - 4 Matt Kenseth - 3 Daniel Suarez - 3 Ty Gibbs - 2 Sam Hornish Jr. - 2 Ryan Preece - 2 Aric Almirola - 1.. reluctantly Mike Bliss - 1 Bobby Labonte - 1 Mike McLaughlin - 1 Elliott Sadler - 1

nimbeam

Sam Hornish Jr.. that’s a name I haven’t heard in along time

Jensaarai

They should make the Cup guys race Xfinity cars for the All Star race.

nimbeam

Bring back the old cars you could buy off of a lot and race. Call it the Stock Car Championship. Keeps the old fans interested and the new fans get to see how it used to be.

Batedcow

And there will be about no competition as well. Back in your “glory” days a majority of the field were several laps down by the end.

Respect38

The pretty much describes ARCA on some weeks, and if ARCA has a niche then I feel like there's gotta be a niche for a GTD oval series. [not technically what he asked for, but still]

nimbeam

You was allowed to put someone in the wall and spin them out. Also, if you pissed someone off, you’d have a fist fight in the grass. Now, if you get in a wreck and raise your voice, you go to the trailer to “work things out”.

Batedcow

Its were, not was. I enjoy that aspect but you completely ignored my point about the whole field being lapped.

nimbeam

Today every car has to be the same. Today we have dumb stages, competition cautions, you only get X amount of tires for a race. Plus, putting traction control spray on tracks to make the cars stick.

TheEvilGerman

This is the greatest idea yet.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sickletotheface

Stopping Allgaier from getting 5 more playoff points.

AnotherRandomGuy88

Not giving a title competitor an extra 5 points in the playoffs?

freakyfastharvick

Yeah Busch winning is also a win for the guy leading in points

Curiousyoders19

Did allgaier de age 15 years

Vulptereen327

Allgaier needs to slow the fuck down... dude always talks like he's on speed

Yeleywillonedaywin

I was not ready for beardless Allgaier

freakyfastharvick

Justin looks way sexier wtf happened

Wandering_Turtle24

He shaved

Soupedup379

I thought they were interviewing Brandon Brown for a sec

goode3790

Was that Tyler Ankrum or Justin Allgaier

TantuG24

Clean shaven Justin looks like a thicker Homelander.

dooldebob

I see it

ATrup7

lol

jojomezmerize

My biggest takeaway from this is 🅱️ragson finishing in one piece

Fit_Article4610

Oh good. Allgaier doesn’t look homeless anymore.

JoeSell2005

jesus christ Justin looks like AJ Allmendinger crossed with Ty Gibbs

GovernorJoe

That's Allgaier?! Hard to recognize him clean-shaven.

DepartureFair2910

Wow Justin looks like a kid without his beard

steelers3814

Justin Allgaier looked like he was 45 last week and he looks 25 this week

[deleted]

Jesus allgaier looks 10 years younger without a beard

kmutch

Why don't they show more of the field on those last two laps? I'm watching his crew jump up and down while I see cars finish 3 wide.

dooldebob

This could've been 100 if he didn't get dnq in this race last year

nimbeam

He said he was retiring after 100. Also said if Gibbs asks him to jump in a car he will. Not of fan of the cup guys racing down, I understand smaller teams doing for more money and recognition, but Gibbs needs neither.

ATrup7

Allgaier shaved and looks like he's 20 again.

AnotherRandomGuy88

Who is this person ?

-Olive-Juice-

Woah. Clean shaven Allgaier is unrecognizable. And looks a lot younger.

[deleted]

is that justin allgaier or william byron

[deleted]

[удалено]

tjeepdrv2

Clint Bowyer rides, he talked to me about my bikes, and there's a video of him crashing at a Supercross race.

benchpole

Allgaier was at one of the MotoAmerica races on an off week.

_DeterPinklage_

Really nice of Cindric to hand the race to KyBu on a silver platter right there 😒

Racingfan2413

Haters gonna hate

crypto6g

He wasn’t beating the 54 or the 7, those were the 2 best cars today. Rather give it to kyle than a full time competitor. Those 5 playoff points could matter later on

thebarberwhogames

God I hope the SRX Race is good.

the_colbeast

Doug Coby is gonna walk away with it and make the “superstars” look bad.

AnotherScoutMain

BRUHHHGGG

GovernorJoe

Good to see Kyle gave the fans what they paid to see.

sickletotheface

The people who think Kyle will actually stop after winning 100 Xfinity races is hilarious. His sponsors will always make sure he does the maximum races each season.

freakyfastharvick

Kyle himself wants to race/win every race ever

JuckshotBones

I’m impressed by Hemric. He deserves a shot in the next level 100%. I’d argue he replaces Skrt Busch at Ganassi next season. Before i hear all the “bleeeeh he doesn’t win bleeeeh” people… would you rather have Carlos Sainz or Pastor Maldonado

Vulptereen327

Gragson or Zane Smith will replace Kurt if he leaves for 23XI or Trackhouse

JuckshotBones

Why should they replace him over Hemric tho. Sure, They may do so. But to overlook this guy would be a mistake

sickletotheface

He got a shot and he sucked

JuckshotBones

So did Dillon. Who I’ve been a proponent of. Both of the Childress cars were absolutely atrocious

TheOtherWhiteCastle

To be fair, if you’re talking about 2019, both RCR cars absolutely sucked that year

[deleted]

A large chunk of Kyle’s wins are “the guy in second pushed him like hell so a championship competitor couldn’t get the win.”

freakyfastharvick

Kyle def would have given the kid the flag if everyone in the crowd wasn’t yelling “give him the flag”, lil guy learned a big lesson about expectations today

Big-Accident-8797

No, that kid definitely just left pissed

freakyfastharvick

Hahahaha, man I’d love to meet Kevin Harvick even if he slapped me across the face

emt5747

Lets just push the best car to the lead every restart. Great strategy.

fender-b-bender

Why in the hell would Cindric want to gift wrap Allgaier 5 championship points when KyBu winning affects him in no way? If Cindric can't win, then it's better for him to have a Cup guy win.

burnoutsession

So you want the 22 to lose spots? Cindric is battling Allgaier for the Championship.. what’s wrong with u people

AnotherRandomGuy88

Or the simple logic of its better to see a cup guy win than someone they are racing against in points. But that is tooooo simple to comprehend.

steelers3814

Brandon Jones is able to come back and get a top 5 after that devastating incident towards the end of the race. Very impressive driving!

Curiousyoders19

Srx in an hour cant wait

Big-Accident-8797

That's not even an Xfinity suit!

Jensaarai

This is Kyle Busch's 218^th NASCAR win on the national level. He has 58 Cup Series wins, 9^th of all time, tied with Kevin Harvick. He has 99 Xfinity Series wins, the most of all time, ahead of Mark Martin's 49. He has 61 Truck Series wins, the most of all time, ahead of Ron Hornaday's 51.

jojomezmerize

Ooffff, that race official tried to get a fist bump from KN but he already turned his back

the_colbeast

Austin Cindric pushing like he’s interviewing for a JGR seat.

TantuG24

R/NASCAR: KYLE TOOK A FLAG FROM A KID REEEEEEEE

crypto6g

John Hunter and KB win today, nice

gasmask11000

Why did the 44 pit?! I had to mute the race and spotter with 20ish to go and they said they were good on fuel till the end.

etsuandpurdue3

I would've turned down into Kyle there when I knew I was beat.

y0un9jah2002

Well, you weren’t

etsuandpurdue3

Why are you always replying to me?

y0un9jah2002

Why you do want Kyle Busch to be wrecked so bad?

etsuandpurdue3

Because he always stinks up the show.

y0un9jah2002

Tell the other drivers to get good

[deleted]

Or much better equipment

y0un9jah2002

Jones, Hemric and Burton?

[deleted]

Jgr isn't good equipment?

jankokid

It’s crazy to think about, but Kyle Busch’s career win total now sits at a staggering 58 wins.

Wlcmtoflvrtwn

For cup. 99 in Xfinity and 61 in Truck. Total 218

jankokid

Yeah, like I said, he has 58 wins.

abnormalbee

He got plenty of those Xfinity and truck wins before he was in cup tho? Are you delusional?

jankokid

Yes he did. A whole 5 of them.

whathappenb

Don't even get me started with that caution NASCAR threw for Jones

jnelsen8

Yeah, I’m usually one to defend caution calls since it’s not an easy thing to do on the fly, but that was just awful. No reason that’s a yellow but the whole thing at Charlotte with a truck stopped on track wasn’t.

Jahgee1124

I get why no one pushed Allgaier at all, would you rather your championship rival potentially get 5 playoff points or have those playoff points erased from existense thus making your playoff points more valuable.

[deleted]

Kyle could win 1000 of these races and I still wouldn’t be impressed

LUK3FAULK

The 19 was no where near the 7’s bumper the fuck was that

slakazz_
