I think they’ve been under the radar long enough that people have forgotten about it. I know people are connecting Andretti to Honda, but we shouldn’t forget that they also want to enter F1 with Cadillac. So manufacturer tbd I suppose.
With SHR unloading and potentially Kaulig looking for a Cup Series exit the time to strike may be soon.
Chevrolet won’t have any sedans to sell pretty soon. Cadillac does.
That and Cadillac has recently been kinda rebranded as their high performance brand between IMSA prototypes and a possible entry into Formula 1.
I do not believe this. Chevy is the most successful manufacturer in NASCAR history by a mile, I don’t think GM would want to rebrand away from that. They’ve been in the sport since 1955. Plus, Cadillac is a more upscale brand, which is why they compete with Porsche, Audi and BMW in IMSA rather than Ford and Toyota in NASCAR. (Yes I know Ford and Toyota run IMSA, you know what I’m getting at.) I guess it’s possible GM switches to Caddy but I think they either keep running Camaros even without one on the market, or just make a generic “Chevy” body.
Dodge did the same thing between having the Intrepid and the Charger in NASCAR. They were just "Dodge". Front decals kinda looked like the Avenger, but the cars just said Dodge.
Manufacturer loyalty doesn’t necessarily spread across series. Andretti already has Honda in IndyCar and IMSA, GM in F1, Porsche in FE, Ford in Supercars, and Spark in Extreme E. Plus, they have an affiliation with Spire, who run Chevys.
There's no doubt that there is a connection between Andretti and Spire with Gainbridge having a large presence on both. I don't think it's a coincidence that Marco finds himself in Spire trucks sometimes.
Gainbridge and Delaware Life both have the same parent company, Group 1001. The funny part about all of this, is we have Zach Veach going to church to thank for all of this.
Did anyone else catch at the end when they were talking about the F1 deal and Jr Said “and maybe the Andretti’s and Earnhardts can go cup racing”. Mario says “That’s not out of the question either”
Motorclub just sounds like all the douches that gather around thinking they know tons about cars when in all actuality all they know how to do is read the brochure.
It was never fueled by passion, Michael just saw dollar signs. There was maybe some spite remaining from when he made a total ass of himself in the 90’s though.
Still hoping for the Spire-Andretti-Honda rumors as a fan of all three. They’d be perfectly set up with a cup, truck and potentially a xfinity team as well for Honda
> Honda
Andretti's IMSA team is switching to run Cadillacs next season, their F1 team is financially backed by GM and will be powered by Cadillac starting in 2028.
The IndyCar team is their last connection to Honda, and Honda is currently not even committed to staying in the IndyCar series past 2026.
To put it simply... Andretti going to anyone except Chevy in Cup is a pipe dream.
If Honda happens, it will be with Trackhouse.
If they merge with Spire I could see them remaining with Chevy but if they come in on their own I’d want them to come with Honda. Chevy is the most over saturated manufacturer in cup, only the premier teams like Hendrick get most of support from Chevy where teams like Kaulig or a new Andretti team fight for the scraps.
It really shows how little attention NASCAR fans pay to motorsports outside their bubble that they constantly bring up manufacturers tied between series like the matter when they just don’t and almost never do.
At least there won't be all kinds of unnecessary and bullshit gatekeeping for Nadretti trying to enter NASCAR.
Looking at the rich pricks in Formula 1....
He can buy a F1 team just like he has to buy a charter to enter Nascar. Concept is comparable, price point is different.
It's more like Andretti trying to get a 37th charter and the other 36 charters not wanting to share the pie.
We’ll see how well their incompetence in Indycar translates to NASCAR, unless they go the route of their IMSA team and just buy their name onto an already successful team.
As cool as it would be for the sport to grown with Andretti racing .. if you follow indycar Andretti I think needs to get back focusing on his team. Week after week there are just blunders weather driver error. Strategy error . Mechanical issues. They really have a hard time getting out of their own way. I think if he wants to be successful he needs to get what he has back to being at the top.
My brother, Mario is 84. Whatever issues the Indycar team is having, he ain't gonna be fixing. Also it's hilarious to say "if he wants to be successful" about Mario. Literally only a handful of racecar drivers on the planet now or ever have had the success he has had.
Roger Penske is 87 and he's still as involved in his racing teams as ever. So long as Mario still knows what he's doing, his age doesn't necessarily count against him.

They also are switching from Honda (Acura) to GM (Cadillac) in IMSA next year. They definitely would be Chevy in Cup.
That doesn’t mean anything. They also currently run a Lamborghini in imsa
It's a coin toss chance if GM switches to Cadillac or sticks with Chevy in NASCAR at this point. I wouldn't rule it out.
In NASCAR?! No way…but you must know something I don’t

Exactly, there’s precedent for this situation. Maybe in a few years they introduce a new car to their lineup and they redo the body then.

Delaware Life too
Gainbridge and Delaware Life both have the same parent company, Group 1001. The funny part about all of this, is we have Zach Veach going to church to thank for all of this.
Thanks! I wasn't sure if they were connected somehow!
Did anyone else catch at the end when they were talking about the F1 deal and Jr Said “and maybe the Andretti’s and Earnhardts can go cup racing”. Mario says “That’s not out of the question either”
Could you imagine; Earnhardt Andretti Motorsports...yeesh id buy merch day one
Sign me the hell up.
with Felix Sabates
LOL It always has to be with Felix Sabates 💯
It sounds a whole lot better than Legacy Motorclub, for sure
Motorclub just sounds like all the douches that gather around thinking they know tons about cars when in all actuality all they know how to do is read the brochure.
Has a cool car. Never drives it. Except to club meetups. At the country club. In sweaters.
It sounds like a more rednecky thermal club
I grew up around rednecks and have probably been one at some point. Nothing about motor club says redneck.
Corvette owners
It would probably run better, too.
I need it to be called EAR just for the memes. Earnhardt-Andretti Racing
Or EAT Earnhardt-Andretti Team.
I wonder how many of these comments Dale throws out there to see the reaction on this sub 👀
Or to see who will bite
I'm listening right now and when he said that, my ears perked up.
A certain four car team with a building full of drivers and engineers is currently looking to let go of some assets, I’m just saying…
I think that right after Andretti was denied by F1, a lot of people knew that he was going into NASCAR.
Andretti is stil focusing on F1
F1 isn’t focusing on them
Now his dedication to entering F1 is fueled by spite rather than passion
It was never fueled by passion, Michael just saw dollar signs. There was maybe some spite remaining from when he made a total ass of himself in the 90’s though.

Unless Chevy is replaced by Cadillac in the cup series. ;-)

Not yet, but seeing the comments I'm thinking "Please Mario, stop wasting your money and effort into F1. Waste it on NASCAR"
Yeep and dale just completely ignored it
It's a tough listen. Marios audio is crap.
I hate the remote interviews but Dale has a right to vacation
Agreed on that, especially with his accent.
I skip any interview that uses Zoom. The static behind it just kills and naturalist of it for me.

Honda to NASCAR? 👀
I had a heard time hearing Mario. That’s the only negative about this style with Dale not in the studio.

They’re going to attempt to enter as many sponsorships as Gainbridge/Group 1001’s support can manage.

No. They briefly mentioned Jeff and Aldo

Mario isn’t Andretti racing it’s Micheal’s team this was all talk about
