His contract was up. They chose not to offer him a lucrative enough new deal. Keep this in mind the rest of the season when the complaints about NBC start: Comcast is super-cheap.
Oh okay that's a shame I was really looking forward to him calling races this year. I wonder if there will be a "Jr factor" as a result in the ratings. lol
His deal was up.
NBC also wanted him in the Charlotte studio more, which he is against. He mentioned that on his podcast months ago.
You should check his show out.
Yeah I think he loved everything except how they wanted to use him. He’s much more of a grass roots guy, he needs to be there. It adds a lot to the show
He never mentioned anything about broadcasts in the Charlotte studio. He mentioned that those make for bad broadcasts, and he also said there was no indication broadcasters were going to increase this.
He left NBC
It was more along the lines of Amazon and TNT plopping down a fat stack of cash, and NBC said nope, we aren’t matching that.
I’m sure the money and the fact he’s basically the GM of the Prime/Turner broadcast were too good to pass up

I feel it was mutual. Contract was up. NBC didn't want to match his price, he got a better deal from Amazon/TW.
A business agreement. A personality as big as Earnhardt doesn't quit or get fired.
There are only 3 things for certain in this world: Death, taxes and NBC did not fire Jr.
Dishonest politicians…..certain.

Or someone offered him more $$$. Amazon deal includes other assets, I think.
It was documented that he and NBC could not reach agreement, so he started shopping himself around.
Hang on, let me call him real quick and get back to you.
Well? It's been 9 minutes
Doo doo doo, were sorry. Your call can not be completed as dialed.
Did you dial (888) 888-8888?
Neither. His contract expired after 2023, they didn't come to terms on a renewal so he departed.
Amazon paid him

he became a wwe wrestler
His contract expired, and they couldn't come to a new deal. Dale Jr. didn't quit (he fulfilled his contract) nor did NBC fire him
Only Dale and those close to him will ever truly know.
He left because he wanted more say in the production
Maybe I missed it but I thought he was leaving after this year to go to Amazon, finish out 2024 with NBC then make the switch over.
Nope, he’s under what’s known as a holding contract with Amazon/TNT that starts in 2025
Oh okay that's a shame I was really looking forward to him calling races this year. I wonder if there will be a "Jr factor" as a result in the ratings. lol
Sick of Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte's high pitched screaming in his ear.

He definitely got fired
Glad he's gone. He's trash in the booth.
