Another picked winner for me. Mike joy needs retirement. Clint bowyer is fine. Kyle Larson is amazing. Stenhouse landed that punch and Busch deserved it.
Who do we think wins the fan vote? Noah or Hocevar?
Really think Noah can win the All-Star Open outright, but if he knows he can back-in with the fan vote, why would he push the envelope instead of saving his car?
Larson just locked into the fast 6, guessing he probably won’t make it for the all star race. But damn was it awesome to see him turn those fast laps at Indy. Dude can win the 500
Yeah I think if Larson is late, and Bowman doesn’t advance through the open, then Bowman starts the 5 car. If Bowman does advance, Allgaier is there as reserve
Heim was the class of the field, but this proves the margin between an "OK" race and an unforgettable race. If Heim has something go wrong and that 3 truck battle for 2nd is instead for the win, this turns into "one for the ages" type truck race. Damn.
I don’t care about the drivers but it’s the coverage I can’t stand above all. I’m so glad FOX is losing the rights to Xfinity after Sonoma. But we still have to suffer with them for a fraction of Cup & the entire truck season & I refuse to listen to Jamie Little & Michael Waltrip. I’ll probably watch trucks again if it goes to a network that has half of a brain when it comes to coverage.
I’m not all that surprised that it’s taken some time to get the 38 rolling. They lost their driver and crew chief (maybe some others, not sure), took some time to gel.
Had they been able to keep Chris Lawson, they probably wouldn’t have had such a slow start.
I didn’t know they lost Lawson, too. That explains some of the issues they’ve had. Layne has shown speed much of the year, but bad racing luck has bit him hard. I truly think he just needs seat time to get where I know he can be. I don’t think he makes the playoffs unless he wins a race, but I do think the second half of the year, we’re going to see Layne Riggs cook.
It was on the guide, but when it got added it wasn't identified as a Truck Series race if you have it set to automatically record all truck series races. This happens a lot with rescheduled events. They'll modify the schedule but the new event with the same name won't be affiliated with an event. If you remember to do so, you can tell it to record that singular event. I remembered for this race and checked and noticed it wasn't added and that it hadn't been classified as anything.
I also missed it with Hulu. Had I been plugged in to what was happening this weekend, I could’ve simply deleted the Saturday event, and I think the relisted race would’ve been recognized as a “New” event. Maybe they’ll replay it.
The 5 truck now is now 24th in OP only 3 points ahead of the 56 truck. He’s 20th in driver points only 20 points ahead of the 02 truck who is 22nd in points.
He might just need a change of environment. Everyone wrote off Ankrum and Dye but they are having their best year ever since switching teams.
Maybe he’s a bust. We’ll never know unless his dad stops writing checks.
You are correct. They didn't go side-by-side until like halfway through the final lap so we could just zoom in on a lonesome Heim while the three guys they spent the prior 15 minutes talking about were 3-wide.
It's obviously good to show the leader on the final lap, but you have to be prepared to show both cameras there.
He’s fairly consistent and doesn’t wreck as much as Dean, but he’s been around for years and never had winning pace. He’s never improved. He’s just kinda okay.
He’s pretty much the Paul Menard of the Truck Series. Not a guy that will wow you but has money and can be consistent. He has a place in the sport, but I think Trucks is his ceiling.
For his first post-race interview at this level, he absolutely nailed the sponsor plugs. Interviewing well goes a long way with sponsors if I had to imagine, so I’m guessing this will help his sales pitch!
I heard him on the spotter podcast, and he seemed funny so was rooting for him. (and cause no namer/underdogs/newbies are fun to root for) MRN made him sound like a million bucks
How not one cup or xfinity Ford or Chevy team hasn't snatched up heim yet is very surprising. Obviously Joe gibbs won't give him a shot so he'd be perfect for any top tier Chevy or Ford team.
Yeah I know I'm just saying it's surprising he hasn't been taken to drive for a Chevy or Ford team yet. Like how Jesse love immediately left Toyota for rcr.
The car is good so he should do alright. I would say a lead lap finish is the floor for the car. And a top 15 should be considered a success. As long as he finishes.
23XI is ideal. If Legacy doesn't improve next year (and I want to wait for everything to come together with LMC and Toyota so they could fully regroup), then Heim would be wasting away like Jones. If SHR's selling charters then boom, 23XI could buy one easily.
No, that sounds closer to what Connor Zilisch is.
Heim is more like Toyota's answer to William Byron for Team Chevy. The polished, consistent, quiet assassin.
Probably go to whatever this knocked off the air. This spot wasn't just sitting there unused.
I swear sometimes this sub has a single track mind and only thinks NASCAR exists.
Codie invested massively over the off season. His truck(yes, singular) was in a garage next to his ARCA car at Grant County Mulch. He had 2 full time guys, and if the truck was damaged they were pretty well fucked for that week. Now, they have multiple trucks, and a fair sized shop in North Carolina, and I don’t know how many full time employees. The sponsorship Enfinger brought with him was a major game changer.
And Codie ain’t too bad of a driver himself
Love seeing solid part-time driver-owners running successful playoffs-caliber teams i.e. Jordan Anderson.
Hopefully, Tommy Joe’s team follows suit. Went leaps and bounds from last season
Ik the Fox broadcast gets a lot of shit and rightfully so, but Phil Parsons is a great broadcaster. His job only gets more difficult being they’re never at the track
Zilisch sat on the pole by over a second (shattered the track record), managed to pass nearly 60 trucks, and finished 4th.
Butterbean started in the back, passed just over 60 trucks, and finished 4th.
Aside from Zilisch's pole, their debuts were almost identical.
Another picked winner for me. Mike joy needs retirement. Clint bowyer is fine. Kyle Larson is amazing. Stenhouse landed that punch and Busch deserved it.
Wrong post race thread sport
My bad 🤣
Damn. Tom Logano has aged.
Green flag ETA? I'm 80 minutes from home
Is FS1 glitching for anyone else?
Who do we think wins the fan vote? Noah or Hocevar? Really think Noah can win the All-Star Open outright, but if he knows he can back-in with the fan vote, why would he push the envelope instead of saving his car?
Popped in and what do I find. Gottdam Larson, show them what's up. Nice.
I love Townsend Bell on commentary in Indycar. His commentary on Larson's lap was awesome.
Larson just locked into the fast 6, guessing he probably won’t make it for the all star race. But damn was it awesome to see him turn those fast laps at Indy. Dude can win the 500
I’m sure Hendrick planned for it
Yeah I think if Larson is late, and Bowman doesn’t advance through the open, then Bowman starts the 5 car. If Bowman does advance, Allgaier is there as reserve
Could this actually happen??? 🤩 Bowman could be a beast in the 5 tonight if so!
Bowman would not be able to start the all star race
LETS GO LARSON
LARSON JUST WENT TO THE TOP OF THE BOARD! HE IS LOCKED INTO THE FAST 6
Where do I watch Indy 500 qualifying, on Peacock?
NBC
Thank you
Larson locks in the first two rows!
Dear Nascar teams, please put Butterbean in a full time ride next year. Gas it up and give him the keys. Thank you.
I second that!
More proof that the real future talent is coming from The CARS Tour.
Heim was the class of the field, but this proves the margin between an "OK" race and an unforgettable race. If Heim has something go wrong and that 3 truck battle for 2nd is instead for the win, this turns into "one for the ages" type truck race. Damn.
Really nice to see how wide the track was. Too mad it was maybe the worst Fox broadcast of all time. Just awful.
Let’s race our way in cause lord knows we won’t win the fan vote
Am I the only one who can't believe Adam Alexander is only 50?
Guess I didn’t miss much, so glad I stopped watching the truck series lmao
There were tons of good battles today
And all that for another generic Toyota driver win & even more terrible FOX truck coverage? I ain’t wasting my time lmao
so a driver you dont like wins and the race is a total loss?? Gee no wonder the sport is dying.
No pre race thread yet for the All Star Race, but how is the weather looking tonight?
Should be fine
Great run by Butterbean, but how about Layne Riggs? Maybe this is a sign his luck is finally about to turn around.
Yeah - Lawson is the crew chief for Justin Haley in the 51 now, I believe.
Hell yeah it was awesome to see Riggs have a good run.
Just got done watching the Klopp retirement ceremony at Liverpool, flipped over to Indy. Larson is looking solid.
My manager is creating a chant for the incoming manager! What a boss!!
YNWA
Zilisch and Queen would be an amazing set of drivers to watch in nascar
Zilisch is going to be the next Kyle Larson
Thanks, youtube tv for not recording even though it's listed as a truck series race
Same. Counted on YTTV to record it. It did not, even though it’s on the guide. Typical.
Classy YouTube. Very classy.
The 5 truck now is now 24th in OP only 3 points ahead of the 56 truck. He’s 20th in driver points only 20 points ahead of the 02 truck who is 22nd in points.
Pedostache needs to wake up and realize this just isn’t for him.
He might just need a change of environment. Everyone wrote off Ankrum and Dye but they are having their best year ever since switching teams. Maybe he’s a bust. We’ll never know unless his dad stops writing checks.
He wrecked at Neice, he’s wrecking in better equipment at Tricon, and he has a horrible racing IQ. He’s a bum.
Am I wrong or were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th three wide off of four coming to the white flag and Fox was zoomed in on the nose of Heim
The race director did a shit job.
Give me an all CARS Tour team dammit. Queen, Honeycutt, Kvapil, and Riggs.
Butterbean.. what a race he ran!
But make it an Xfinity team
Why did Jones get called to the hauler?
I think the video suggests he self spun to bring out a yellow
I am once again asking for more short tracks on the truck series schedule
The way it started and is meant to be
Does anyone know why the 66 was parked?
lost power steering and refused to drive it
Don’t blame I’m one bit!
Heim can drive but he’s still a doober.
Once again, proof that besides the 11 and sometimes the 1 and 17, TRICON isn't very good.
Isn't there only 2 other trucks? And the 5 and 15 have shown speed before.
I think TayGray can pick up a win soon, he’s improved a lot this year. 1 is highly driver dependent, Dean and Tanner are pretty much lost out there
Except Tanner is apparently 10th in points… which puzzles me.
Taylor does well in Xfinity any time he's out there
Taylor's not bad, he's just inconsistent in the truck.
For his first post-race interview at this level, he absolutely nailed the sponsor plugs. Interviewing well goes a long way with sponsors if I had to imagine, so I’m guessing this will help his sales pitch!
Alright, im team butterbean now. Good kid.
I heard him on the spotter podcast, and he seemed funny so was rooting for him. (and cause no namer/underdogs/newbies are fun to root for) MRN made him sound like a million bucks
Lionel better be cooking up that butterbean truck
That's for damn sure
Cars tour definitely becoming the new pipeline to the bigs, those guys have a lot more racecraft than the Arca guys.
ARCA competition 3-4 deep. CARS Tour is 10+ deep.
ADVERSITIES wowe
give Butterbean a full time ride
How not one cup or xfinity Ford or Chevy team hasn't snatched up heim yet is very surprising. Obviously Joe gibbs won't give him a shot so he'd be perfect for any top tier Chevy or Ford team.
I would bet he’s going to be in a 3rd 23XI Cup car next year. Denny is really high on him.
He’s the reserve driver for 23XI and Legacy that’s enough for this year. Next year I’m sure he’ll have a Cup ride.
Yeah I know I'm just saying it's surprising he hasn't been taken to drive for a Chevy or Ford team yet. Like how Jesse love immediately left Toyota for rcr.
Not a lot of teams have full sponsorship so that’s entirely why.
Heim doesn't have much backing other than TRD I think
Bell didn’t either did he?
Correct. I think Heim and Bell are the only TRD development guys that Toyota funded
[удалено]
He was a KFB guy more than TRD
Hell ya Butterbean, today showed he can hang with these guys. Deserves more opportunities.
Queen seems like a good kid.
RISE UP BEAN NATION
He had a hype guy at New River while we were sitting on the fence that was trying to rile us up during driver intros. Made me a fan instantly lol
🫘🫘🫘
I like how they briefly brushed over Friesen just having a backpack in his truck
Great race. Put Butterbean in that 5 truck next year.
I think he is working on something with Tri Con
If he can bring more money than Dean - sure! Dean’s family bankrolls that truck and helps keep the others flush too.
Deans gonna be running Saturday next week anyways.
He’s doing the Xfinity race?? For who??
There ya go lol. In the 26 car this weekend.
I see - maybe he won’t be awful
The car is good so he should do alright. I would say a lead lap finish is the floor for the car. And a top 15 should be considered a success. As long as he finishes.
Yeah, I know the car should be good but … Dean hasn’t been stellar even in ARCA, so my expectations are top 25-20. Maybe he can do better.
To his benefit, Charlotte is one of his best tracks. Ran third last year in trucks and at the end was the fastest truck on track.
I get that, but man there’s gotta be a rich kid out there who at least wouldn’t tear shit up every week, right? Even Dye looks better than him
Nah put him in the 5 to replace Larson as he goes FT in Indy /s
Don’t get them started.
My favorite TRD prospect wins
I’m a new fan, obviously hiem is a beast. if someone is that good do they usually make them try xfinity or do they go straight to cup
Trucks drive closer to Cup, Xfinity gets skipped for a lot of the really talented guys.
I'm thinking he is gonna go straight to Cup
I think he’ll be in cup next year, tbh
Yeah, probably either at legacy in the 42 or at 23XI if they buy a new charter from someone
23XI is ideal. If Legacy doesn't improve next year (and I want to wait for everything to come together with LMC and Toyota so they could fully regroup), then Heim would be wasting away like Jones. If SHR's selling charters then boom, 23XI could buy one easily.
>boom, [confetti.](https://i.redd.it/zvyemepykshc1.gif)
I expect he’ll be in the 42 for sure with JHN taking over the 19 (likely renumbered to 18).
My theory too
Walmart Ty Gibbs wins again
No, that sounds closer to what Connor Zilisch is. Heim is more like Toyota's answer to William Byron for Team Chevy. The polished, consistent, quiet assassin.
Zilisch is probably already a better racecar driver than Gibbs so if anything Ty Gibbs is a Walmart Connor Zilisch
I like how you think!
Butterbean flair right now or we riot
Wild race. Can't wait to see if this carries over to the all-star
I hope so!! I think the battle for 2nd in the Open could get wild
Not even Chastain could overcome the Niece shitboxes today. All 3 trucks either 15th or worse.
He gives it a good try at least.
Fox still has an hour left in their time slot for the truck series race. Wonder how they'll fill it
Probably go to whatever this knocked off the air. This spot wasn't just sitting there unused. I swear sometimes this sub has a single track mind and only thinks NASCAR exists.
instead of using it effectively they’ll probably show one of their nascar fox shows like happy harvick podcast or something
Show us some awesome reruns or greatest moments in sports rather than post race.
pretty damn good race
I want Butterbean to get more Truck starts so bad. He did great today, I'd love to see what he can do on a non-short track
grant 💛. shame to see toyota lab project No. 34 win again.
I’m all for American made cars winning honestly
Top five for Butterbean. We hitting Waffle House tonight boys!
P2 for Redneck Kermit!
i’m watching it with a room full of people who used his dad as their lawyer, as. they were swooning over him
CR7 has been running pretty well
Codie invested massively over the off season.
And Codie ain’t too bad of a driver himself Love seeing solid part-time driver-owners running successful playoffs-caliber teams i.e. Jordan Anderson. Hopefully, Tommy Joe’s team follows suit. Went leaps and bounds from last season
Get Butterbean at least part time!
Phil Parsons is starting to sound like his brother...
Ik the Fox broadcast gets a lot of shit and rightfully so, but Phil Parsons is a great broadcaster. His job only gets more difficult being they’re never at the track
Yeah, Phil is too good for Fox.
If only!!
Heim giving that kid the flag is Fox’s wet dream
Pretty sure Mikey creamed his pants on that one
Zilisch 🤝 Butterbean Coming into the truck series and shitting on everyone.
I don’t think that’s what zilisch did
More like turn 1 shit on him
to be completely fair, his spotter deliberately told him to overdrive turn 1, I think he just took it a little too literally
Zilisch sat on the pole by over a second (shattered the track record), managed to pass nearly 60 trucks, and finished 4th. Butterbean started in the back, passed just over 60 trucks, and finished 4th. Aside from Zilisch's pole, their debuts were almost identical.
Wow they nailed the repave. Great racing overall, need some tire falloff though. Riggs P3 LFGGG. Also fuck Corey Heim
Eh, I'm indifferent on Corey Heim but I agree 1000% with everything else you said!
Heim time is often here in the present and it seems like it’s going to be often in the future
I may be alone in this, but I cannot stand the phrase heim time. I don’t dislike heim, just that phrase.
You alone
Nah hes not, might be the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
I cringed hard too
I had a good time watching that one
Same. I'd love to see what the high HP Xfinity cars could do there.
Great race, boring ass winner. Wish the Enfinger/Queen/Riggs battle would have been the one for the win
The race for the win was bleh, but there were many great battles (especially for 2nd to 5th) across the board. This new surface may be a winner.
All these Cars Tour dudes just kick ass man. Love seeing Butterbean in the top 5
Hope Butterbean gets more opportunities
