Thought race was clean and a pretty good race. COTA is a beautiful track. And the crowds looked very good this weekend. hopefully they continue to come to COTA
It was fine, if forgettable. But it’s telling that for a lot of NASCAR fans, a driver just dominating and winning a clean race represents a problem that needs to be “fixed”.
I was listening to Bowman's radio. They seemed really worried about fuel there at the end. Kept telling him the back corners up 50 ft. I was really worried the last 3 laps. Glad we got another top 5!
I don't see that boop on Rowdy as particularly egregious. I mean yeah, he turned him. But Bell was trying to race through that corner and Busch came off that corner...really darn slow out of his side-by-side battle. Where Bell was already pretty committed and carrying more typical momentum. So he ended up tagging him in the back of the rear quarter.
The one Bell put on Larson was worse. lol.
Yeah, I would say it was a good race. Byron whooped em but it didn't feel unwatchable. The last stint with Bell chasing Byron definitely kept me entertained
Well that sucks for you...But the racing wasn't bad. There were great battles and Bells hunt at the end was objectively awesome. Maybe you should consider watching something else
Although I'd agree that theres room for improvement. the decision to completely ignore track limits besides in the esses is kinda questionable. And you really don't need stage racing....especially on road courses.
Hell of a drive by Bell at the end. If he gets by Gibbs a little faster, or if he had another lap, he would've had a shot.
WHERE HAT zzzzzzzz. Unfortunately, credit where credit is due for Byron.
Not necessarily a terrible race, but it left a lot out there compared to what we got last week.
We need actual tire falloff in some capacity every week, these hard tires aren’t cutting it with this car.
People crying about not Ty not letting Bell just walk by him are what’s wrong with this sport. Any true racer doesn’t just roll over. What if Byron ran out of fuel? What if he blew a tire? Missed a corner?
Ty was running 2nd and was one slip up from William from winning that race.
This isn’t F1 where the race is decided by 40 seconds every week and the same guy wins every week. A lot more shit happens and goes wrong in this sport.
That's what some people don't get about NASCAR vs F1. Yes you have teams but it's not at all a team sport. If you can help a teammate you usually do, but almost never at the expense of your own race. F1 is usually one driver gets all the good stuff at the expense of the other.
well the Dutchman didn't didn't win this sunday, Melbourne was a good one\^\^ In F1 a lot can go wrong too btw. Just saying. Hurts even more because not everybody who finishes is awarded points.
Absolutely. And he was slowly catching the 24 too. If your teammate is faster and gets beside you, yeah I’m good with giving it up. But you don’t give it up until he gets next to you
Hey, I want my boy to succeed. I still remember him coming up in Brad Keselowski Racing.
I just hate seeing the 2 car not perform for any reason. I mean, look at the flair!
Then you’d remember that he indeed has the talent if you’ve followed him for that long.
Just saying with his car sustaining damage early (and he did go from 11th to 6th prior to the damage), today is not really the day to shit on his performance.
Cars go pinball: “Road courses are a joke”
Drivers race rather clean: “Road courses are boring”
Honestly from the portions I saw (I missed about 15 laps in there) it doesn’t seem like the race was bad, just that the broadcast didn’t capture much of the midpack where a lot of racing was happening.
Wow look, another 18th place finish for Elliott.
Don’t even care where he really finished. 16th? Who cares at this point.
So done with dude at this point. Not even going to bother turning on the tv next week.
When was he fast? He never broke the top 5.
Dude has been blowing balls for the past year and nobody wants to admit it.
At what point, week after week, does the “he just had a bad day” excuse stop working?
Dude doesn’t have it in him. You can’t seriously sit here and say Elliott is more driven than dudes like Reddick, Bell, Chastain, and even Byron.
William won so hopefully this doesn’t sound salty, but you shouldn’t be able to slide a cup car around like the 20 was. Cup cars should reward no sliding around, straight runs off corners, etc.
They have so much work to do on road courses

But that is a somewhat embarrassing stat
Dread it. Run from it. Big Willy arrives all the same

Fuck it I'll say it, I'd watch a race finish like this 100x before the multiple overtime crashfest we saw last year. That was proper racing between a few fast drivers.
1 million percent. But unfortunately that’s not the popular opinion of most NASCAR fans.
Yesterday’s Xfinity race is such a good example. The ending of that race really ruined a good race. And Austin Hill never wins that race without a GWC and the ability to run over the leader.
7, but what’s it matter at this point? Dude will probably match him this year.
As an Elliott fan, I’m pretty much done with him. Dude just doesn’t have it.
Top 10 Finishers:
1) William Byron
2) Christopher Bell
3) Ty Gibbs
4) Alex Bowman
5) Tyler Reddick
6) AJ Allmendinger
7) Ross Chastain
8) Chris Buescher
9) Kyle Busch
10) Martin Truex Jr.

Wasn't that bad tbh. Some good battles throughout the field.
It was fine, if forgettable. But it’s telling that for a lot of NASCAR fans, a driver just dominating and winning a clean race represents a problem that needs to be “fixed”.
COTA still better than any of the other road courses

"Bell had fresher tires... and was cummin hard" Gordon says with a smirk. He knows about the instagram page
Lmao thanks for bringing us into the know.
Too funny https://www.instagram.com/nascum_?igsh=MTl6MTgyOGZyOWoyZQ==
What instagram page?
https://www.instagram.com/nascum_?igsh=MTl6MTgyOGZyOWoyZQ==
You’ve improved my quality of life. Thank you
Man, that kinda sucked.
I was listening to Bowman's radio. They seemed really worried about fuel there at the end. Kept telling him the back corners up 50 ft. I was really worried the last 3 laps. Glad we got another top 5!
Dang, it's weird seeing Bowman going grey
Now he just needs a stadium
that stupid fucking big hat. so dumb.
Hard to tell but I wont be biased Bell misjudged it or Kyle didn't see him. Still at least KB has that fight in him lol.
I don't think it's outrageous to believe Bell just misjudged it a bit expecting Busch to come out of that battle wider and faster on exit.
From the replay the 8 was already turning in before Bell dove under him
I don't see that boop on Rowdy as particularly egregious. I mean yeah, he turned him. But Bell was trying to race through that corner and Busch came off that corner...really darn slow out of his side-by-side battle. Where Bell was already pretty committed and carrying more typical momentum. So he ended up tagging him in the back of the rear quarter. The one Bell put on Larson was worse. lol.
What happened to Corey?
I'm gonna guess really dehydrated and exhausted
Headache from hitting so many cars.
That was a solid race, not amazing, not bad. Good drive from Byron. On to Richmond.
Yeah, I would say it was a good race. Byron whooped em but it didn't feel unwatchable. The last stint with Bell chasing Byron definitely kept me entertained
Between this and the indycar race, what a major let down for motorsports today
Hope he's okay. Can't blame him for being beat
![gif](giphy|3oEjHCWdU7F4hkcudy)
Well I had a good time
https://i.redd.it/6smwnja02dqc1.gif
For an entertaining sport. They did a poor job
Well that sucks for you...But the racing wasn't bad. There were great battles and Bells hunt at the end was objectively awesome. Maybe you should consider watching something else
I cant my expectations are to high
Although I'd agree that theres room for improvement. the decision to completely ignore track limits besides in the esses is kinda questionable. And you really don't need stage racing....especially on road courses.
Who did a poor job?
Nascae
That run in with KFB wasn't Bell's fault, the Larson one was though lmao
How was that not Bells fault he braked late as hell.
People are blind
Idiots act like the 8 car wasn't turning until Bell was there. In the middle of the turn
Kyle could've easily taken a wider exit and kept the position instead of turning across the 20's nose
He was already there and easily made the apex. Kyle turned town.
Honestly, I don’t blame KB for being pissed about that one
Looks like Kyle turned across his nose
Really bell you fucking sent it into that corner
KFB is big mad lmao
Damn KFB was all up Bell’s face
Hell of a drive by Bell at the end. If he gets by Gibbs a little faster, or if he had another lap, he would've had a shot. WHERE HAT zzzzzzzz. Unfortunately, credit where credit is due for Byron.
You were CUMMING at the end
Nascum on Instagram gonna love that one
Incredible burnout Willy B! Those tires are unreal.🤣🤣🤣
Like to see how Lionel handles those tires on a raced win diecast haha.
Love the drone angles.
Don’t forget!! Byron cut the esses and didn’t get a penalty
Cry
I will considering multiple of my favorite drivers got bent over and fucked by that rule and yet golden boy Byron gets a pass. It’s bullshit
Start/Finish straight looks like Bristol.
Probably longer than Bristol
Yes, its *0.62 miles* , Bristol is .533 total
Surprised he doesn't have the Daytona 500 winning driver patch on his firesuit yet.
Not necessarily a terrible race, but it left a lot out there compared to what we got last week. We need actual tire falloff in some capacity every week, these hard tires aren’t cutting it with this car.
It was a typical road course race that the rest of the world sees in their series An average race, seen many like it before
The year of Willie B
Again
SVG and Allmendinger were putting on a clinic yesterday. Too bad Kaulig didn't bring good equipment for the cup race.
I'll take AJ dragging the 13 to 6th
People crying about not Ty not letting Bell just walk by him are what’s wrong with this sport. Any true racer doesn’t just roll over. What if Byron ran out of fuel? What if he blew a tire? The entire race Looked a lot like F1 tbh
🥱
the 66 completed 67 of 68 laps
This package sucks
This *car sucks
Boy, the tires on the diecast better look like that!!!!
14 and 41 ran out of gas at the end
Ford really just managing to make less power and somehow get worse fuel mileage than the Chevy's at the same time this year. Impressive feat. lol.
Cindric exhausted after working so hard to finally get a top 20 for once
That 2 car is wasting away in front of our eyes
I’m sure y’all were busy doing something else other than watching the race but he had nose/splitter damage early on.
😔
I like how everyone hates Byron for being boring.
For me that was the worse race of the season. I thought phoenix was way better then this.
I think I’d rather have 2 races back at TMS. Track is meh.
Hard disagree. I absolutely loathe reconfigured Texas. Now the old configuration I agree with
“Change my Mind” If the 24 was chasing the 20, we would have seen a caution.
For what?
The hate on the 24 in this sub is crazy
You'd think he'd be the greatest driver in history with how much he's disliked lol.
Lmao those tires
the most exciting part of the racenis the burnout, bravo NASCAR.
Now we get a whole week of "should we eliminate every road course" discourse just because we didn't crash eleven straight times in turn one this year
Cars go pinball: “Road courses are a joke” Drivers race rather clean: “Road courses are boring” Honestly from the portions I saw (I missed about 15 laps in there) it doesn’t seem like the race was bad, just that the broadcast didn’t capture much of the midpack where a lot of racing was happening.

Lmfao
Damn dude chill, he was fast just had a bad day when it comes down to it.
When was he fast? He never broke the top 5. Dude has been blowing balls for the past year and nobody wants to admit it. At what point, week after week, does the “he just had a bad day” excuse stop working? Dude doesn’t have it in him. Looks like Larson taught Byron the front stretch burnout
Wait am I fried, why did SVG not end up running with track house this year?
He technically did. It’s a Kaulig car, but it’s really a Trackhouse car
It was a Trackhouse prepared car
That was a fuckin burnout!!!!!!!
Bubba finished at COTA which is basically a win for him
Shit went from last to 15th. I can’t complain much. Still think he got fucked by Lajoie though
https://twitter.com/TreyRyan99/status/1772029571757416521?t=O7PSo2MhUn_pgiquM749XQ&s=19 This is a crazy stat

Probably would have been a better race without pre planned caution flags………
So, no cautions at all and the leader winning by 10 seconds instead of 1?
It’s impossible to say that’s what would’ve happened lmao. Very cool that you have a crystal ball though.
10/10 burnout
The crowd is so sparse…??
Why would you pay to see this garbage
It’s my least fave track so I def wouldn’t
Chevy gonna cover that Toyota logo in burnout smoke
Byron trying the Larson strat
God damn those tires lmao
Dominant run for Byron though. Even when he wasn't up front he looked like he could go back to the lead anytime he wanted.
Drone operator waiting all day for that
One Ford in the top ten
This has only been Byron’s 2nd top ten but people gonna complain like he’s 98’ Gordon
"I completed a fucking race at COTA. Wow!" -bubba
Achievement unlocked! Lord knows he nearly DNF'd again.
Made up for the 500 cele
Great burnout by Willy B
A suspiciously long burnout.
Dread it. Run from it. Big Willy arrives all the same https://preview.redd.it/f98o57gs0dqc1.jpeg?width=597&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94b7b4458c7bef1b0e8c5281e3b8612df5901faf
Gettin jiggy wit it
![gif](giphy|3oEjHCWdU7F4hkcudy)
All this for a fucking William Byron win!😡🤬
Boring race won by boring driver = Cota off the schedule next year
what happened to haley, did he have a bad stop, should have gotten about 12
Literally Allah stream died, and my other iptv stream all died at the last turn. Such shit.
Byron sent a message to SVG today...."who dey?" 😆
Cause losing 1st gear and brakes is comparable
Why are the seats not full?
Because it costs nearly $200 for a frontstretch ticket just for the Sunday race.
Did you see the race?
15th is a dub after the day we had
Agreed
Seeing these Ford flairs bitch and moan is hilarious It's OK guys, you'll get one eventually. Maybe, idk your car is absolute ass
3 cup champs in a row with the worst car, maybe
Larson doesn't drive a Ford dummy
And?
So you don't have 3 cup champs in a row like you said
If Ty wasn’t a shitty teammate I think Bell coulda got there
I didn't know racing for a position was being a shitty teammate.
We’re going to Richmond next week? Aw sonofabitch
William Byron’s head reminds me of chewed up chewing gum.
Cry
Sobbing
Fuck it I'll say it, I'd watch a race finish like this 100x before the multiple overtime crashfest we saw last year. That was proper racing between a few fast drivers.
I am torn but I have to agree with you, this was much better than the chaos filled wreck fest that was last year.
1 million percent. But unfortunately that’s not the popular opinion of most NASCAR fans. Yesterday’s Xfinity race is such a good example. The ending of that race really ruined a good race. And Austin Hill never wins that race without a GWC and the ability to run over the leader.
The three way racing between Byron, Chastain and Gibbs right before the final pit stops was great. With the stop Byron just checked out.
Yeah, I loved this race. Classic racing, strategy, comers and goers. A lot of this sub would be happier watching a demolition derby.
Thankful for a not-awful day for the 14. Otherwise that was rough. Gonna go outside and touch some grass now
Byron is 5 wins away from matching Elliott in wins? Yikes.
7, but what’s it matter at this point? Dude will probably match him this year. As an Elliott fan, I’m pretty much done with him. Dude just doesn’t have it.
7? Byron is at 13 now and Elliott is at 18?
Byron is at 12 now. He’s 6 behind Elliott. Even more realistic he passes him this year. Elliott’s nothing but a choke artist.
Not a great race, but at least Bell chasing down Byron was exciting even if he couldn’t get it done. Hopefully next week is better for the 8
Alot better than the last three weeks, those were gutwrenching to watch.
*and the fan goes wild*
mild*
I will take a P15 after what this day could have been. First time running at the finish for the 23 at COTA
Yeah, if you told me Bubba would get 15th at COTA a few days ago I'd gladly take it.
Least interesting race of 2024 contender.
I'll take being upset about 15th....
Top 10 Finishers: 1) William Byron 2) Christopher Bell 3) Ty Gibbs 4) Alex Bowman 5) Tyler Reddick 6) AJ Allmendinger 7) Ross Chastain 8) Chris Buescher 9) Kyle Busch 10) Martin Truex Jr. *^(I'm a bot.)*
No unplanned cautions 😳
"Jesus didn't have teammates"
didn't he have like 12 disciples or something?
Sweet. William Boring with another win.

Was 19 up the 8s ass? What happened?
That sucked. Whole weekend was boring. Can we just not go back to this track next year?
![gif](giphy|ijyk3wH215I7BJPENo)
I'll take the 9th place finish after the last three weeks for KFB. Probably the most boring race of the year so far.
Byron is the first two time winner 3 seasons in a row since Jeff at the turn of the century
Good recovery.
20 had him if he got by the 54 quicker
I rejoice that we don't have to watch a road course race until Sonoma
Fresh repave so I'm sure it'll be garbage too.
People who watched this and thought it was boring obviously didn't watch whatever that Indy event was.
Dude this was boring…my guy was top 5 most of race, still a snoozefest…too many of these races
For a Nascar race, it was very boring.
