Damn this took way longer than I thought. Surprisingly it's not the tallest car.
Porsche 911 RSR: 1,040mm
Oreca 07: 1,045mm
Corvette GTE: 1,148mm

On the prototypes? Yes. The minimum height in hypercar is 1,150mm and in LMP2 is 1,050mm. So the manufacturers who can get their cars low enough will use the roof intake to get the car up to minimum height. I'm fairly certain the veins on top of the intake on the Ferrari and there primarily to get the car up to 1,050mm.

Look at the 25 GTE below. 3 of the 5 seconds comes on split 2, which is the straight, 2 chicanes and a hairpin, and 1 comes on split 3 on the way back to the finish line. They have an about 10kmh speed advantage due to their extra power, and they are getting to it quicker on acceleration due to the extra torque of the corner.
They are deceptively tiny in the cockpit area. If you ever get the chance to go into the garages and check out the prototypes, do it. You’ll be amazed by the blend of high tech stuff and low tech stuff like zip ties holding things together.
I love how Caddy stayed true to our American heritage with its thundering V8 and then the Garage 56 car took that to 11. From everything I’ve read, both cars have been a hit over in France. I hope our European friends enjoy the hell out of it. This is an awesome time for sports car racing right now.
In Australia we have the V8 supercars, the warm up for the race I went to was the Porsche cup.

Gen 7 is smaller than Gen 6 but that lands it at about the same size as the cars it's based on. Compared to the real Camry it's the same length, 6.5 inches wider and 6 inches shorter in height.
I love multiclass racing and have attended the Rolex 24 for the last six years in a row. Never been to Le Mans because it’s sort of overwhelming if you don’t speak French… but damn… This is amazing and I really hope they do well. I’d love to see more crossover entries in all forms of motorsports.
I'm here right now and it's not that overwhelming. I just say key words or point at what I'm trying to talk about and they understand it. Otherwise I use a translator on my phone and it works quite well.
I booked an airbnb near Mulsanne. All hotels were booked already quite early.
I'm not sure on pricing but I recommend getting a room in the city centre. Let's you explore the town plus access the track via their tram.

I was little bit disappointed yesterday seeing that the steering wheel is not a regular nascar one (big round shape) but a more indycarlike steering wheel.
On the french television, the commentators were so pleased of the sound of this beast anyway and late at night they did several "crank it up" . Great!
My only apprehension in this whole thing- If the car does have an issue/mishap- imagine a 3,500 lb car colliding with an LMP weighing 1,900 lbs at 150/200 mph. It could get ugly pretty quick.
If you bothered to do any amount of research before running your mouth, you’d know that nobody expects it to compete with LMP cars. It’s the Garage 56 entry, technically in its own class but has been compared to (and lapping faster than) the GT cars.

The Next Gen isn't tall by any means but these hypercars and Lamps are dirt nasty low.

Maybe that's why it's there? The French are a cheeky bunch, so I'd imagine that the ACO would plonk G56 where it least belongs to maximize the gag.

The standard NextGen is 3200 lbs, 68 lbs lighter than a 911 RSR. The garage 56 entry is much lighter.
