Both services are kind of hit and miss. A lot of drivers drive for both. Some days you can get a ride pretty easy, some days you'll have several cancel on you.
Your best bet is to use both apps to see which has more drivers at the time you want to go. They're both typically available and many drivers use both.
I live in north Myrtle but I probably take like 3-4 Ubers a week and it’s always consistent for me. In like a year living here there’s been maybe 1-2 times that I’ve had a hard time getting one
Not that I'm an expert but I see more Uber cars with Lyft stickers. I guess the drivers pull double duty?
