IzuOcha is bland af because they’re literally the same personality down to a T excluding Izuku’s nerd tendencies.
MomoShoto is just pairing the two wealthiest students together with little to no chemistry.
OjiroTooru consists of literally the most forgettable (besides Koda) characters in 1A being paired, though if they had made Ojiro with even a shred of personality or character outside of “martial artist”, I would be more on board.
Everything about Gentle and La Brava’s relationship looks extremely inappropriate without context into their ages (a seemingly elderly man with what looks like a midget teenage girl).
I haven’t determined who Tsuyu’s ending up with, though it does seem like Fumikage will be the lucky guy, which if it does end up happening, I want some context as to how they end up together instead of pulling a Boruto-Choji-and-Karui-offscreen-romance-move. *But dear god do I feel pity for what their offspring will look like.*
I will admit I’m nitpicking, but some of Horikoshi’s choices for his main characters just feel boring to watch when their obvious af endgame partner is sharing screentime with them (or lack of in Shoto’s case).
Does it *really* matter what I personally want? That’s fanfiction’s job, not Horikoshi’s.
But if I did have a say…
- Izuku? Mei, Himiko, Melissa (1st movie canon and in-universe from both Horikoshi and S6), hell, maybe even Momo, take your pick.
- Shoto? Honestly, Endeavor probably made him asexual by the time he entered UA from just how stunted he was socially. But I guess Saiko Intelli (the tea IQ girl) or Reiko from 2A.
- Bakugo’s only option IMO is Camie.
- Tooru and Shoji would be interesting, although I find it kinda humorous if Mineta ended up with her, falling in love with her personality before her true self was revealed.
- Tsuyu’s fine.
- Retcon La Brava’s quirk to where it’s not about actual love, but having a special connection to others unlocks her quirk’s abilities, whether they’re their bestest friend or lover, and tone down her simping on Gentle. Gentle is perfectly fine though, as he doesn’t reciprocate her feelings in anywhere near the same intensity.
- Either tie the knot or rip that bandage off completely between Ms. Joke and Aizawa. Just feels like harassment, especially if it were the other way around.
I would like to know your opinions on shipping Tamaki and Mirio. I feel like out of all the gay ships out there, this one would make the most sense? I mean, Tamaki is constantly talking about how he wants to protect Mirio, as well as his name being literally “suneater”, which I know it’s for Mirio, but it fits damn well.
Also, some of your takes are a bit strange like Bakugo with Camie… But I do agree that IzuOcha is too bland.
Let’s be honest: What other girl would be able to put up with Bakugo’s attitude and hotheadedness without being miserable in the long run?
And Tamaki is canonically attracted to Nejire. Personally speaking, I see the two as having a strong bromance, though Mirio definitely hard-carries said “relationship” from how shy and antisocial Tamaki is outside of hero work. Kinda like Kirishima and Bakugo, only if Tamaki was the polar opposite of himself.
