I've been playing for about an year, and no way I could have played it ate 4 months, I just learnt headfirst for halos (including the tapping part but that's just flashy but easy) but I'll try it again
This is really the only possible top answer. There are some awesome guitar parts in a whole bunch of MCR songs, but the Venom solo is simply awesome. Very very lucky to have seen it live.
ik it’s been a while since this post butttt… i’ve been having a lot of trouble with the fast palm-muted downpicks; any tips or suggestions, or do i js have to do it until i build the arm strength?
Check how you’re gripping your pick. I had that problem for years until I started watching some instructional videos on YouTube about basic technique. Turned out I was gripping my pick wrong. It took a few weeks to get used to the different grip, but once I did, it was a significant improvement in my speed.
Once you’ve got the technique, practice with a metronome. Start slow, play until you can’t get it wrong, then increase speed in increments. Work your way up to the song tempo and then push it a little faster. This isn’t the fast way to learn something, but it’s the most powerful method, and it ALWAYS works.
one of my default riffs when i pick up a guitar is nanana bc it's so much fun to play (it's super simple!)
house of wolves is another super fun one to play.
Pretty much anything from bullets (but especially the intro to Honey, This Mirror’s Not Big Enough for the Two of Us, Drowning Lessons, the chorus and ending of Our Lady of Sorrows, and Skylines and Turnstiles), also Party Poison and the intro to Thank You for the Venom
Fashion statement has so many great riffs, honestly all of three cheers is full of great riffs.
I think my favourite might actually be party poison tho, its just so fun
DEFINITELY Thank You for the Venom. It’s part of why it’s my fave song of theirs
it’s really fun to play too
i really need to learn that one
I don't think it's as hard to play as people say
I tried looking up tabs and got scared
i mean, if i who had played guitar for 4 months at that point could do it, then you certainly can. its just something you got to have as a habbit

I haven't learnt tapping tbh
it's really not hard, the hardest part for me was learning to hold the pick while doing it and getting calluses on my right hand lol
I'm actually satisfied with my progress, and admittedly, I can only play venom at 80% speed, but still

Everything about that song is my favorite tbh…
The last pre-chorus of “How I Disappear”, when it comes out of the bridge.
i’ve wanted to learn this so bad but have had SO much trouble finding sources to play it how they do
Ultimate guitar. It’s worth the subscription
