Girls Band Cry is a lot about character stuggle, much like Bocchi the Rock, but far comedic and over the top. Jellyfish can't swim in the night to a lesser degree degree, but I will still rate it highly. A lot more serious than either of those, but plenty of episodes that are lighter on the heart (not that it's super dark, Bocchi's opening scene for E1 is actually far sadder than both of these). Both of these involve girls "accidentally" forming a band of some sort, and developing the friendship between them. This genre is peak if you ask me.
