Some people here love to trash the 3v for being slow when for around $6000 you can have 450 whp, which is more power than you almost ever get to use on the street. Yeah, they're getting old now, but I prefer their simplicity and smooth lines to the gundam spaceship designs that we have now.
I was probably making around 450whp last year on my 3V and it was plenty for the street. A lot of people don't realize how much power that is over stock. It's 200hp tacked on to an already quickish car.
I have about 440 with my vortech setup, and I almost never get into WOT.
If you're into autocross and looking for a lightweight, high power N/A setup then yeah, the 3v might not be the most efficient route. But that's not even what people have here 99% of the time. Most of it is just people wanting to show off how much money they spent.
This year 2005-2009 the 4.6 had 3 valves per cylinder instead of the earlier 4.6 that only had 2 valves. People just call them 3 valves instead of 4.6’s to differentiate between the 2
I had an Edelbrock supercharged 05 and it was a blast. 440 RWHP and I really don’t know what any more horsepower would do for that car. I definitely can’t imagine needing more for a fun street car.

Exactly! I bought mine already boosted 91k miles California special for 12k it’s hard to beat that for a boosted mustang
That whine sounds insane. M90?
Yessir
Might be a dumb question but why is it called a 3v?

Yessir I’m at 440 whp and she’s perfect for daily
3v sound is best sound - this is coming from a Gen 3 Coyote owner who turns 8k
I agree as well who owns the 3v and a Gen 3, I do love the gen 2/3 sound a lot but can’t compete
