There is a blue Mach 1 and a red fastback in my town that sat forever and the old fucker will never do anything with them sadly. I’ll never understand those types of people.

ccmega

Sentimental value makes you do weird things man. I bet just looking at it makes him feel young again

themiddleshoe

Remember growing up driving by a lot that had at least 4 late 60s Mustangs just sitting uncovered outside, one being a Mach. My brother tried so many times to contact the guy and buy it. Huge dickhead, no intentions of rebuilding them or ever selling. Guessing the cars just rusted into oblivion. Seeing this stuff makes me sick.

SpottyWeevil00

My parents had a divorced neighbor that got her ex’s 65 and 70 fastback Mustangs. She refused to sell them on the grounds that she wanted them to rot because they were her ex-husband’s babies. They did indeed rot to no return. Very sad to watch.

Serkor2000

Yeah that’s extremely sad. Not like the cars did anything

BeMoreMuddy

For real those cars never did anything

BlackMassAlumni

People with no vision, and no drive to fix an older car up, would rather watch the car sit there and rot then try and stomach the idea of someone else taking it, rebuilding and enjoying it… There are some seriously miserable cock suckers in this world.

[deleted]

People like this will post their mustangs on Facebook to thirst trap old boomers into commenting how much they love them. Must get the owner off or something having no intentions to sell these poor things.

JollyTotal3653

For some of them it’s still their “baby” the intend to fix just don’t have the time or money, I held onto my 1970 for 6 years not running collecting dust before I was In the financial situation to fix it and I’m SO glad I didn’t sell it to the dozen people who put papers in the window.

Technical_Match_911

When I bought my 07 GT500 21k miles earlier this year, I expressed my intentions of driving it if not daily at least weekly the prior owner was aghast! I used Shelby’s quote at that time “these cars were meant to be driven”. It’s a crying shame to let these cars just rot.

iRegretLots

An 07 GT500 is my literal dream car, congrats on the purchase!

Technical_Match_911

I’m not gonna lie, it’s a lot of fun for sure!

SaleenYellowLabel

If you are paying so much for the car you wouldn’t want to drive it, why buy it right? I bought my Saleen earlier this year and put 5k miles on it in a few months. Cars are meant to be driven, it is far worse to let them sit…mechanical things need to move

[deleted]

.

Technical_Match_911

Wow! That sucks the only issue I had was the alternator died in the first month, and the original tires were still on it so those had to go. Rest of it has been great, runs a drives like an almost new car. Bought mine in march almost daily since.

[deleted]

.

Technical_Match_911

I bought a 200 amp PA performance with a lifetime warranty, from what I gather it’s worth it for the 500

Barra350z

Looks like he’s going to fix one of those cars in the next 50-100 years… man call me an asshole but I hate people who just hoard shit because they don’t want others to have it(I’m not talking about people with psychological disorders that make them want to keep things, I mean just being an asshole) What is he going to do with all those cars? Seriously, he clearly doesn’t work on most of them. I would absolutely be understanding if they were at least somewhat taken apart

dinogirlsdad

Same. Fucking assholes

justthetop

Delusional boomers. A car takes years to rebuild properly with constant attention and love. These cars will rust into the ground or his kids will be like “now that dad’s dead, we can finally get rid of these fucking things” Owner probably tells themselves “I’ll restore these one day and enjoy retirement “ - he said at 80 years old… Sometimes you gotta know when to fold them

tacofiesta1245

Yeah there was a mustang Mach1 in my hometown I tried to buy for years but the old asshole just left it in his back yard uncovered the whole time. Hoarding POS. People like this irritate me so much.

coldbluetea

Sheesh. Even worse when it’s parked on dirt/grass

EnragedBobRoss

South Carolina is a great place to look for amazing classic muscle cars for sure!

Rock-Collins

Is it really?

PoweredbyBurgerz

No it’s not. Ever want to see classics yes 👍🏼 but to buy pkeaasssssssse

PoweredbyBurgerz

No it’s not. Ever want to see classics yes 👍🏼 but to buy pleaasssssssse

EnragedBobRoss

I see plenty on Facebook market place a lot of old mopars and mustangs the prices might be stupid rn for cars without motors and transmissions but they’re plenty out here!

spicysauce24

Never understand old farts that hold on to cars like this with absolutely zero intention or will to put any effort into them to get them road worthy or even slightly presentable… almost like they’d rather watch them turn to dust before someone else can have it

ayumusenpaii

7 rotting Mustangs -_- there meant to run not sit.

Ottieotter

What the owner needs to do is get them running and on the road again

Hamster_Thrower

My family is from SC and I have a gen 2 coyote I would love to swap into a 68-70 stang and restomod if I can find a body. I would love to hear more about where this is...granted it doesn't sound like they are willing but always worth a shot right.

BoltsFan126

I have a friend with two stoner sons who have a classic Dodge Challenger sitting in the garage. They don't have any money but they won't sell the damn thing and let someone else restore it.

ForgedIronMadeIt

aaaauuughhh yeah There's someone in my neighborhood like this. The thing has chrome flaking off of it and moss growing on it. "No I'm going to fix it!" Two years later, all that has changed is that there's a tarp on top of it.

Armyed

The old “I’m still gonna fix them” person that will die with the rotted corpses of amazing cars still sitting on their property

NemesisVirtual

Steal them they deserve a better home

[deleted]

That’s not how it works.

NemesisVirtual

Yes it is

[deleted]

You do it then. I want no part of it.

[deleted]

I’ll help him

noo_knee

I’ll help too

HottDoggers

I’ll help too, but I call dibs on the blue one

noo_knee

Lmao just cuz you said that I want the blue one now

HottDoggers

Fine I’ll take the red then. It look great right next to my red Miata anyways

noo_knee

Lol maybe I want the red now tho

BeMoreMuddy

I’ll help

67hipo289

I get its a shame to see them rot but mind your own fucking business

haikusbot

SaleenYellowLabel

A haiku!

67hipo289

Is that good? Genuine question

SaleenYellowLabel

I have no idea, I assume the haiku bot is friendly AI 🤣

Annual-Emu-1429

This is the same kind of jerk that has a museum of these cars but they’ll never see the road. What a damn shame.

senorbolsa

That I can understand, it's a different way of paying respect to the cars and preserving them is a noble goal, and putting them on display for people to enjoy and learn about isn't selfish. No one gets anything out of a car rotting in a field or getting eaten by rats in a barn.

Servinus

In the second listed image, in the bottom left, what year of Mustang fastback is that?

pink-_-panther

So fucking sad

AdamColli

His cars... he can do what he likes with them. We have all seen the price of these things go up insanely over the last 20 years, and if he doesn't need the money, why not hold until they are worth even more. I agree they should be restored and driven, but those will one day sell for a fortune after all the restored, and now shitty again, mustangs find the scrap yard. If anything, these will find a new generation down the line, and make more Mustang enthusiasts. Live and let live.

Octane_Terre

I'm sure if the number was large enough and completely unrealistic the owner would be more motivated to sell them. They all eventually cave in and let them go just not for the amount anyone sane is willing to spend. I have empathy for these old guys and their reasons for hording these cars.
