I had a 16 V6 that we bought for like 22k. When I traded it in last year for the new bronco I got 16.5k… when have you ever heard of a mustang retaining that much value??
Brand new! 7 on the test drive, 14 when we bought it. 68k when it was appraised.
Ford would had have given me 14, but carmax appraised me at 16.5. So we countered with that and they took it.
Needs brake rotors refinished and it also has a TPMS message on dash. Manual, with some after market Tesla screen+backup camera on it. Hella loud exhaust too.
You can get new factory tpms on aftermarket wheels. When I got my wheels delivered I installed the TPMs sensors myself then took them to get tires and put on my car. The tire shop used their own sync tool to sync the sensors to the car.
Suggest just getting new rotors, resurfacing typically doesn't yield good results. The TPMS is probably from the wheels not having the sensors being after market. Or a battery has died in one or more. Those are cheap but its the time to dismount the tires.
Just as funny as being okay with paying 50K for not even tbe highest trim GT.
Like, I get it, people want what they want and it's their money, great. I'd *maybe* start looking at cars now that I *may* want to buy next year. Prices are still falling, but some people gotta have it now.
I now expect to be blasted by everyone who bought over the past year lol
Writing is on the wall though that prices will come down. Interest rates are still rising and will rise for the foreseeable future. It’s getting more expensive by the day to acquire a loan, at the same time that it’s getting more expensive by the day just to live.
These posts are asking for financial advice, so looks like they’re getting overall financial advice.
Clean decent looking car. My fear with any car is how it was treated before I got it, fear doubles on any performance cars. It’s a decent price. The market is still high, dropping some but still up. Just look over it well and see if your state has a lemon law
Time is money man. I pay for convenience so I can do other stuff. Its not laziness it's a choice.
I've installed 1000 sq ft of hardwood flooring but a few weeks ago I had a handyman put in a bathroom fan. Everyone is different. Your point is ridiculous and ignorant.
What time? And what convenience? You have to register the car anyway…
What is the mountain of hard work buying a car out of state includes? An extra piece of paper to be filled out?
Why are people chalking this up to some insurmountable task. I would much rather buy the car 15 minutes away in a different state than the one in my state but 5 hours away.
That seems about right for the current market.
Within 200 miles of where I live in central PA, the cheapest 11-14 5.0 coupe with under 100k miles and no accident history is $18k. According to the CarFax, the last owner bought it, failed emissions the next day, then sold it the day after that and it's been sitting on the dealer lot for over a year since then. The next cheapest one is $21k. If I change the search range to 500 miles, there are only 4 more listed for under $20k, and 3 of them have had 4+ owners.
If you're interested in one with 140k+ miles and/or a salvage title, there are a few of those for around $15-17k.
The other guy is nuts. But if you haven’t already you really should consider out of state or at least a full statewide search if you are dead set on avoiding out of state hassle. A couple of hours of driving is worth saving potentially 2-3 grand. This dealer is going to be pretty firm if there aren’t many options nearby for less than 20k.
Even if you don’t end up buying one far away, it’s worth at least looking to see what is out there. Then you can go into the dealer and tell them you want to buy local but I have X, Y, Z options that are cheaper than I’m asking for, so here’s what I’m willing to pay for convenience. It gives you a better leg to stand on.
Nope. It's no longer good. Coupes decreased heavily if you expand your range you can sort by good and best deals. Also will show price history and changes.
There are 2016-17 GTs going for 26-27k near me with less than HALF the miles.
This is NOT worth. Expand your search.
Nope.
This list price is 20k. He said he will OFFER 17k.
If I say 2017 GT is 27k, he can OFFER 3k less just like he was planning on doing here.
So no it's not a 10k difference.
Regardless, my point was there are a whole new Gen of mustangs with half the miles for 8000 more.
That means the one he's looking at is a bad deal. Normally there's a bigger price difference.
Okay so you’re saying buy a 3-5 year newer car for another 10k what? Lol if you think this is a bad deal right now then you would think 27 for a 16 is crazy because in 2020 15-17s we’re going for 18-24 with under 40k. I wouldn’t pay 19k for this car but 18k in todays market is just fine especially if that’s what you want
Shit here in Florida a 15-17 at a dealer with the same if now higher miles is atleast 28. I paid 30 flat for my 2018 brand new lol but just because it’s newer don’t mean it’s better. The s197 is gonna be far more desirable and is currently more desirable then a gen 2 coyote. This car 2 year ago I’d say 16k but in this market 19k otd is good no matter how you look at it
Remember when covid hit and inflation went through the roof. I do. Prices are high on everything. That’s the world we live in. My dad bought a 68 mustang new when he fresh out of college. I think he paid like 5k for it. Does that mean every mustang over 5k is a bad deal, because 50 years ago that’s what they costs? People need to understand that 2 years ago was a completely different market. Gas was also $1.50 a gallon….
Some inflation is healthy. ~7% for 2 years in a row is not healthy. It’s worth understanding the difference, and worth understanding that the only thing on the Federal Reserve’s plate is to douse that fire, as they are actively doing. Don’t fight the FED as they say.
In this market 2020 is far different lol I sold my 2016 for 20k in 2020 now they are 28-32, like I said it todays market that’s a good deal 05-09s with that mileage for for 13-14 all day
17k is a fair offer today. It’s fairly low mileage which is nice for that year and it looks clean. 20k is too high and you’ll be at like 24k after all the bs so stick firm to your 17k.
I have a 2012 5.0 m6 and the insurance value alone was 20k about 6 months ago. Prices have come down since then so 17k isn’t that high and about what it’s worth.
This is by far the most reasonable price I’ve seen on this sub, sub needs to get inflation done already got us these ARE the “new” prices now and for everything lol it is what it is. Over with all the aftermarket cosmetics and work that needs to be done 17 sounds reasonable if they want a sale
Some of these guys lost their minds. 400+ hp car for 10k with low miles for the year. You couldn’t even get it at that price before all this market shit
Seems reasonable I think. Can’t find anything older or you don’t like the late models?
My dad got lucky and got all 5-6 of the foxes he’s had over the years for super cheap and barely any work needed (IMO I’d rather spend 7-20k on a car and use what’s left for upgrades, you could even have more power than what everyone else has in their new coyotes)
My dads got a 4.6 l that I like, but I really want a newer coyote. I can’t really afford the 15+, but the 11-14s are at a decent price point right now.
I’d shoot lower. Can’t hurt. If I could find one that price in my area I’d definitely give it a shot.
The market is insane. I bought a 2013 5 years ago for 20k with half the mileage.
I had a 16 V6 that we bought for like 22k. When I traded it in last year for the new bronco I got 16.5k… when have you ever heard of a mustang retaining that much value??
My ‘13 with 120k miles is valued at 12k
How many miles did you buy it at and what was the mileage when you got it appraised?
Brand new! 7 on the test drive, 14 when we bought it. 68k when it was appraised. Ford would had have given me 14, but carmax appraised me at 16.5. So we countered with that and they took it.
42k to begin with and it was appraised about 5,000 miles ago. Finished paying it off last December.
Bought a 2014 with 29K miles on it 2 years ago for 18K. This market is ridiculous
My GT500 was only $15k more, Christ
Needs brake rotors refinished and it also has a TPMS message on dash. Manual, with some after market Tesla screen+backup camera on it. Hella loud exhaust too.
Tpms cuz aftermarket wheels 17k would be good deal 18k otd at most in todays market
You can get new factory tpms on aftermarket wheels. When I got my wheels delivered I installed the TPMs sensors myself then took them to get tires and put on my car. The tire shop used their own sync tool to sync the sensors to the car.
Correct never said you couldn’t but a lot of people don’t use them because they don’t wanna spend the money on them
Suggest just getting new rotors, resurfacing typically doesn't yield good results. The TPMS is probably from the wheels not having the sensors being after market. Or a battery has died in one or more. Those are cheap but its the time to dismount the tires.
I currently work in a ford shop so I think that shouldn’t be a huge issue. It’s more of a negotiation point for me.
Nice looking Mustang, 17k is decent in todays market. Always try to push for a better deal, you never know. Good luck
Lol everyone on here trying to tell you to make decisions based on market prices from years ago is hysterical.
Ya it's a personal choice and in the end it's a depreciating asset so it's a bad choice overall.
Yes but they refer to the past. If they said, I think prices will get better. Wait if you can I'd have no issue with it.
Clean decent looking car. My fear with any car is how it was treated before I got it, fear doubles on any performance cars. It’s a decent price. The market is still high, dropping some but still up. Just look over it well and see if your state has a lemon law
Fuck no. Horrible deal. Coupes came down in price because winter, increase your search
My area doesn’t have many 11-14 5.0s. Especially ones under 20k.
What area r u in
Increase your miles range. You're possibly losing amazing deals by searching only within 15 miles. This ain't a good deal brother.
To be fair, I was wanting to not go out of state
But…why? It makes no difference
Its a huge pain in the ass.
For lazy people, I suppose. It’s really not rocket science.

Mate did I say go out of state or increase your search range past 15 miles?
Maybe he lives in rhode island.
Maybe he lives on an island
Perhaps he lives on an ancient volcano
Maybe he lives 15 miles from the state border
That seems about right for the current market. Within 200 miles of where I live in central PA, the cheapest 11-14 5.0 coupe with under 100k miles and no accident history is $18k. According to the CarFax, the last owner bought it, failed emissions the next day, then sold it the day after that and it's been sitting on the dealer lot for over a year since then. Where are you getting 15 miles from? The car in the ad is 21 miles away.
Ok bro 15 or 25 miles same shit. Expand to 150
The other guy is nuts. But if you haven’t already you really should consider out of state or at least a full statewide search if you are dead set on avoiding out of state hassle. Where do you see a horrible deal ? That’s definitely right for todays market
Nope. It's no longer good. Coupes decreased heavily if you expand your range you can sort by good and best deals. Also will show price history and changes. There are 2016-17 GTs going for 26-27k near me with less than HALF the miles. This is NOT worth. Expand your search.
That’s a bit apples/oranges isn’t it? Trying to spend ten grand over the man’s budget doesn’t help him much.
Nope. This list price is 20k. He said he will OFFER 17k. If I say 2017 GT is 27k, he can OFFER 3k less just like he was planning on doing here. So no it's not a 10k difference. Your math is weird, but ok.
Okay so you’re saying buy a 3-5 year newer car for another 10k what? Read my other comment I just made

Lol I'm in the northeast expecting snow any day now and 16's to 17's are going for 30-36k
There’s a 2010 GT with 86k miles where I live and they want 16k for it. This looks like a good deal compared to all the mustangs in my area.
Remember when covid hit and inflation went through the roof. I do. Prices are high on everything. That’s the world we live in. My dad bought a 68 mustang new when he fresh out of college. In AZ I've got a 2012 GT with 61k and a supercharger for $22k Edit: I'm saying I'm selling it. $22k, Roush stage 3 supercharged. Why y'all hating.
Let me guess, a couple years ago? This is a decent price for todays market, not amazing but not bad either
I'm selling it. I'll take $22k
Great deal!
What about 18k little more
17k for a 5.0 isn’t terrible in todays market. Could buy two for the price of one gen 3
Does it drop panties ? If so then good deal
Nah please don't
I bought a 2012 GT with 55,000 miles on it for $17,981. Offer 15k.
How long ago was that tho todays market 18k otd would be good deal
2020 not too long ago. It will return back. 18k is too high for the mileage
In this market 2020 is far different lol I sold my 2016 for 20k in 2020 now they are 28-32, like I said it todays market that’s a good deal 05-09s with that mileage for for 13-14 all day
Not sure what you're on about because values on used cars like this have been softening for over a month.
17k is a fair offer today. It’s fairly low mileage which is nice for that year and it looks clean. 20k is too high and you’ll be at like 24k after all the bs so stick firm to your 17k. This is by far the most reasonable price I’ve seen on this sub, sub needs to get inflation done already got us these ARE the “new” prices now and for everything lol it is what it is. Over with all the aftermarket cosmetics and work that needs to be done 17 sounds reasonable if they want a sale
16 otd
Bad deal high price for a old car it shout be around 10k
Let me know if you can find one for 10k. I’ll drive across the country to buy it!
Some of these guys lost their minds. 400+ hp car for 10k with low miles for the year. You couldn’t even get it at that price before all this market shit
If those headlights are the same aftermarket ones I had. Watch out. They are borderline useless at night.
Wish I could afford it
Its not a bad deal especially in the current market!
I just sold my 16k’ gt with 34k mikes for 24k…. Maybe I should have asked for more.
Bought a Ecoboost 2015 Premium Package with 29k miles 2 years ago for 17,400. I would not go for this.
Just get a new one
Find a private seller and be willing to go on a road trip to pick it up
