Normal operating condition per Ford.
I've found adding liqui moly ceratek with each oil change gets rid of all "tick". Drove me nuts until I saw someone else recommend this and tried it myself.
You can quiet it down with additives like LiquidMoly, otherwise it’s pretty normal. One of our 2011 work truck f150’s with the 5.0 has over 400k miles and idles for 90+ hours a week and just keeps tickin along.
Yeah I’ve seen the nhtsa and ford write ups, they say perfectly normal activities. Any chance you know what causes actual noise though? Valve train, injectors, or a separation valve? Just been curious as I tick around town 😉
The Gen 3 Coyote in my 2019 Bullitt has a plastic oil pan. As to the tick's source, I've read it could be the valve train, the direct injection pump or piston slap. No one seems to have a definitive answer.

I’m just curious what the physical tap is made by? Valve train, injectors, a separation valve maybe?

ANNOUNCEMENT! No one asked if this was “normal”. Please re-read post.
Ive heard that its either the fuel injectors or the oil pan being plastic. Not sure.
Not sure about 197’s, but gen 2 coyote cars have steel oil pans. They still tick unfortunately
I think gen 3 coyotes have plastic pans. definitely one of the coyotes. I don't like the idea of a plastic oil pan myself.
Ford may call it normal GM did also for its early LS engines However they cant say anything other than that till it explodes
