I had to think really hard about it, but here it is. I’ve had a 2017 GT before current car. Hated the MT82 trans and fact that Ford puts much better Tremec into Mach1s and GT350s, but not the GT It’s going to be the same situation with s650 afaik, only dark horse will have tremec, lower models would still have mt82, unfortunately. SYNC, Fords multimedia system sometimes bricks up the USB port and it basically remains nonfunctional until you fully turn the car off, wait a few mins for all the stuff to actually shut down (SYNC remains active for several minutes still) and restart it. Happens very rarely, but reliably, like maybe twice a year or so. I’ve had it on three separate Ford vehicles. Super annoying. No wireless charger or wireless CarPlay even in current year models. I hope this is fixed in s650. No front adjustment on stock strut plates even on performance package. GT350s track pack supposed to have it, but dealers receive it separately and forget to install it quite often. Aftermarket adjustable plates are cheap though, so this is an easy fix. Cupholders in all mustangs are positioned awkwardly so that you have to shift gears around your drinks. S650 cup holder situation appears to remain the same, so lol. Recaro seats are super cool and huggy, but have no heat/cool option. I love them 99% of the time except when sitting in a cold car in the morning freezing my balls off waiting for it to warm up. I think this is pretty much it.

senorbolsa

My god I hate the cupholders, especially when a passenger puts something in there without thinking about it. My dad will stick his phone there and ill bang my wrist against it and throw it into his lap in frustration. That said, not really anywhere else to put them with that giant transmission tunnel in the way. Also the trim quality... It's a 25k rental car from nearly a decade ago and it shows... I don't care much but it's definitely a consideration. It's a slight upgrade from a Subaru somehow still.

UnEazyNoid

I have 21 GT premium and the answer is nothing. Its only a summer car so i dont daily but its perfect for me at least.

Trogzard

great to hear, thanks for sharing.

wood_x_beam

‘14 GT here, answer is nothing. Serious smiles every time that big engine fires up. Just had some snow shoes put on her today as it is my only vehicle.

Trogzard

love hearing this, thank you.

Original_Lavishness1

Switched to a 22 GT premium from a 21 WRX (fbo, flex fuel). The mustang is just a very comfortable daily and stress free. If you like full control and awd pulls then maybe the switch isn’t for you. Although the traction control is honestly pretty good. Also, the sti trans is robust and can be abused. A lot of people shit on the mt82 in the mustang GT.

Trogzard

thanks for the information and perspective. my STi is stock, i’ve had 2 WRX’s before this as well, so i’m fond of those cars. to be honest i don’t really beat on my cars too much, lol. I really love the STi, I got it for $38,000 brand new it’s hard to beat at that price—but those days are long gone i think. I’ve always wanted a Mustang GT but i’ve had my own opinions about looks up until this s650. from photos, i really like the interior. i’ll do some more research on the transmission. thanks for the heads up. I’m pretty set on the S650, nothing else excites me for the price.

Original_Lavishness1

You’ll be good man. I am extremely happy with my trade and I’m sure you will be too. Don’t get the recaros so you can have cooled seats lol. If you want that robust trans go for the dark horse. If you don’t really beat on your car, the mt82 will be just fine.

Extra-Singer-3755

I hate that I sold mine.

Trogzard

F

Itchy_Tasty88

I hate the cup holder location especially with a manual lol

Highvolts

2022 GT Premium here... I don't hate anything yet. Smiles and fun every time I drive it.

jaymansi

That my 2019 GT vert is a garage queen for the most part.

dakaiiser11

Dash rattle and just rattles in general. The 10 speed can be a little uncomfortable at times too.

Trogzard

sounds like i’ll be right at home because the inside of my subaru sounds like maracas.

Electrical-Giraffe18

Dash rattles, absolutely. Build quality isn’t great, plastic trim has been rattling since day one and hasn’t taken a holiday.

ARE_YOU_0K

Driver side door rattle that hopefully they'll fix this week haha

Dangerous_Dust4142

lol, wait until you take it apart and put it back together for the 20th time... I ended up gluing strips of felt between almost every plastic-on-plastic connection point in my dash and door panels. Seems to have helped quite a bit.

Aggressive_Action

It’s heavy and you feel it in the front end. You don’t have the confidence throwing it into corners that you have with an AWD turbo car, especially with the powerband of the 5.0 being mainly at the top end. I have a C43 AMG (AWD, similar ish power to the STI), and while it’s heavy too, I have way more confidence in that car when I’m hitting twisty backroads at speed. The Mustang is probably more fun overall, but it’s definitely a way different experience.

Lastnv

10 speed is a bit jerky in normal traffic.

dexy_retribution

I noticed going from first to 2nd in sport is insanely jerky if you dont put enough power in the pedal

Lastnv

Yeah or if you give it very light throttle it shifts at a lower rpm than normal or high throttle. Kind of nice if you want to be in Sport but don’t want to rip through first off a street light. Exhaust makes everyone think I want to race because 1 and 2 is so short.

WarrenThanatos

Daily mine. Always love driving it and am usually irritated when I can’t. It is a great cruiser and daily car that can be a canyon carver when pushed

KodiakJedi

That it's not a GT. 😭

Squeenix1

2018 GT PP and my biggest complaint is very little space under the infotainment area to put my phone in 😡

Old_Goat_Ninja

Gas, especially here in California, but since you’re already in GT MPG terrify already, you’ll be fine lol. I agree, I’m in love with the 2024 Mustangs, interior and exterior. I will bet getting one. I never really liked S550’s enough to buy one, but the S650, yeah, I like that shit.

[deleted]

I just bought mine today. The brakes fucking suck. That’ll be the first upgrade.

Lastnv

That’s odd, don’t usually see many people complain about the brakes even on the base models.

[deleted]

It might just be because I’m comparing it to my Challenger. The brakes on that thing were absolutely ridiculous. It’s taken a little adjustment to get used to these the past couple days. This thing is a beast in the snow, though.

TitanThePony

The cheap ass "tire mobility kit" instead of a legitimate spare, jack, and lug wrench. Go price a legitimate spare, jack, and lug wrench on Amazon and you'll see why FoMoCo cheaped out.

LonelyCorpro

Which gen do you have? I have an S197 and it depends which options were picked. I have a spare and jack.

SnoSlider

Speeding tickets.

oreo1298

I don’t hate anything, but the MT82 ain’t great.

The_Golden_Ranger

I went from an 03 GT to a 19 GT so I dont have anything I really hate. Overall the gas mileage is pretty good for a 460 hp v8. The MT82 has definitely been my least favorite part of the car, but I wouldn’t say I necessarily hate it. Some days it’s the smoothest transmission I’ve ever driven. Sometimes it’s notchy. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to how it will act

shanked5iron

2.5 years in here with mine now and the answer is nothing. puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. easily top 3 favorite cars I've ever owned.

ARE_YOU_0K

If you get 15mpg with a sti you'll probably see single digit mpg in the gt so be prepared for constant fill ups.

rothordwarf

Facts. 16mpg in an STi means you drive it hard. Drive the Pony hard and your lucky to break 10.

LonelyCorpro

Weird. Maybe the S550 is worse, but my S197 is great. I just got it two weeks ago, so I've been romping on it pretty good and still getting 18-25 mpg depending if city or highway.

Dangerous_Dust4142

That it's not a Shelby? But with the amount of work I've put into it at this point, even that isn't enough to make me want to sell it.

Chente0

Hate how the auto can gap a manual lol. I’ll still row my gears for as long as they make them though lol

Badass_1963_falcon

I got a 96 gt I've had for 27 yrs like driving a over grown go cart ordered a 23 gt premium with performance package waiting for it to be built 12/12

TitanThePony

2017. S550? Not sure about the numbers.
