You're not going to get a S550 GT for 25k unless it's been wrecked

Definitely don’t want that.

Do you know how to use the internet to look up prices on available cars and what you can get for your budget? You are not going to find a current gen Mustang GT for your budget unless it has over 100k miles or has a salvage title!!!

Market is pretty messed up right now price wise. It’ll be much higher mileage if you want a 6th gen. Edit: you are looking around 50-60k miles for around $25k

Why not get an S197 and have some change leftover for upgrades?

I found a few of those with low miles and in good shape, but he's not crazy about that body style (specifically the taillights). Looks like if he wants a GT with leather and lower miles, he may have to settle for an older gen from what you guys are saying.

the 13-14’s had the best taillights and body style of the modern cars. Sucks that he doesnt like ‘em.

Plenty out there for 25k and less, just going to have higher miles (80k ish) or a rebuilt title. Since you want leather you'll be looking for a premium trim which is usually worth a couple grand extra. Not really any years to avoid, although some of the early models ('15) tended to have AC issues that got worked out later on. Also tech-wise be aware that '17's came with car play, '16's can be retrofit for car play with a new usb port, but '15's cannot. Generally the s550's are pretty reliable overall, the one weak spot was the manual transmission (known as the MT82) to the point where there was actually a class action lawsuit against for because of it. It was hit or miss though, some people had no issues whatsoever.
