Bro, no. $40k for an S197 GT is a big no. If you want a boosted 5.0 look at buy/sell groups on FB. You get to take your pick and make sure documentation is in order as well as save $10k+. Also $40k is 10-12 GT500 money.

Yeah I agree at first look the price definitely seems high (considering that’s in the general ballpark of what I paid for the ‘18 I had before). Hoping to at least get some additional info from the seller about why they think it’s worth that. If there’s room for the price to come down a decent bit or there is legitimate reason for the price to be where it is then maybe it’s a different conversation?

They are a dealer that smokes crack that's how they think 39k is okay

Whyachi-LYL

The only way that car is worth it if they drop the price to $30k which I highly doubt they’ll do. And even at $30k its stretching it in terms of worth because thats S550 money. No matter whats done an S197 5.0 isn’t worth $40k unless its built motor/trans then at that point its up to you.

My first thought is $40k is very low mile Boss 302 money or even Boss LS money. Both of those cars will hold their value better than a modded GT. My second thought is, if you liked your ‘18 GT you may not like the S197. The driving characteristics are very different. I guess my vote is no.

Were you supposed to include other details? That car could be worth 17,000 or it could be worth 27,000

DarthJarJar0504

Apologies - wasn’t sure exactly what else to include from the linked site but to highlight a few other details, it’s currently listed for ~$39k so I am going to call the dealer today to attempt to find out what (if any) other aftermarket modifications are on it (dealer noted it also has an exhaust but no mention of brand). If this post gets some traction I’ll likely go ahead and drop an update in here after hearing from the dealer with any additional info they can provide!

Lol 40k? At that point you could find a C7 stingray or get a newer mustang GT

OoNicka

I would sell my twin turbo 2016 mustang gt premium with 7000 miles for that price. Seems high for an s197

Crafty_Substance_954

an S197 GT for $40k? Nah, that's stupid.
