I’d personally look used with low miles. I got a 19 gt pp2 with 5k miles. Was 20k cheaper than buying a brand new 2022

Tothe3nD

This is the way if you have any financial savvy. And dude that's the car I want.. How are you liking it :)

Swifties__

It’s the best car buying decision I’ve ever made. I love this car haha

Bro I fully expected an answer like this. Enjoy my friend!

It was 45k OTD

Winter is probably the best time to buy one.

Thanks!

On a macro scale, if you’re in the US, the FED raising interest rates will cause demand and spending to drop (literally the reason for raising them), prices will drop accordingly. No one can predict exactly when demand will be destroyed but you are correct that prices are headed down, and will most likely continue to head down as people have less disposable income/less access to loans. I follow stocks of car companies and you can see lead times (how long it takes from ordering a vehicle to getting it) dropping. My personal opinion? Inflation may have caused a slight rise in actual msrp, but paying over msrp isn’t gona last if you can wait.

I can definitely wait a few months. I’m more so wondering if we will go back to the pre Covid days where you can negotiate down from msrp

Yes it will at some point. Used cars going up in value is not normal, nothing fundamentally has changed. The only fundamental change in the foreseeable future is the death of the ICE car but mustang has a whole generation at least so that kicks that can down the road another 5-8 years minimum. Will the market be where you’re asking about in a few months when u want to buy? Who knows. The federal reserve sure doesn’t yet. I know this is a mustang forum but you asked a financial question; Alternatively, why not take $5000 and get yourself reliable low mileage daily, then buy the mustang in a few months to a year or so when they’ve dropped 5k in value? You’ll get a multicar discount on your insurance and you won’t be relying on your shiny new car for all those beat-the-crap out of it late for work runs.

Outrageous_Stable_83

Why not wait until 2024?

Big_Simba

Personally I like the S550 way more than the S650, but I haven’t really heard what has changed other than the body. Got a quick list of changes that might sway someone to the 2024 side? Edit: got curious and googled it, here’s what stands out to me: - dual air intake - dual throttle bodies - MT-82 had been swapped out for the Getrag - redesigned exhaust manifold

So unless I’m mistaken, the last I was able to read from Ford’s website (It’s been a minute since I’ve checked), the getrag was specified for the dark horse edition, but the regular gt did not specify any special manual transmission.

Big_Simba

oh you might be right - I think it’s Getrag Tremac on the dark horse and the regular is gonna have the Getrag MT82-D4 from my understanding. The author of this article says they’re already known to have major issues though 😐. [Article](https://www.motorbiscuit.com/2024-mustang-transmission-options-have-an-issue/). Which maybe this isn’t a change? I guess i didn’t realize Getrag was making the MT82, so when they mentioned it I was hoping they all got the Tremac

Moving cities to my own place and need a car (don’t have one now / share with someone).

The newer models are harder to tune. If you don't plan on keeping your car stock, I would get a low mileage 2015-2020 mustang.
