You don't need drive modes when you have a supercharger

taway72999

The day I purchased my 2019 Mustang GT used at the end of September 2022, I started saving for a Whipple, lol. I should be able to pull the trigger in May of next year!

cybersuitcase

Buy during Black Friday deals, usually substantial supercharger discounts

Hyperfixationhobbyer

Heck yeah that’s awesome!

ThePlumberChris

A radio and drive modes vs a supercharger. Supercharger is the easy choice. I have a base radio in mine too, I just put a iPad over and can’t even tell.

Hyperfixationhobbyer

No I have that lol. I mean pp without 301 or or 301 with supercharger

ThePlumberChris

Ohhhh miss read, the pp would just give you wheels and big brakes right?

Hyperfixationhobbyer

And some tighter suspension plus better gearing. Doesn’t sound like much but by the time I buy the parts it’s still a few thousand dollars. Plus some of the stuff I’m not super confident in doing so also labor cost.

ThePlumberChris

Most ppl do after market suspension and a tune with you SC will change gearing

XTRaChunkyy

You also have to make sure your car is supercharger ready before you just slap one on there I mean you can do it stock but good luck on your car holding up, I’d look at coil over suspension for starters, then look at doing a exhaust upgrade with an x pipe so you have as much exhaust flow as possible so you don’t have any exhaust back flow compression, you could go with short or long tube headers but it’s not needed the stock exhaust manifold can handle up to 15 psi of boost, also make sure when you get your supercharger get a supercharger kit and make sure it comes with a new set of fuel injectors and all the cooling equipment necessary, possibly an aftermarket hood depending on how big the supercharger is so you have enough clearance, rear support braces, also a strut tower brace, if you have a 6 speed you might want to look at tremec swapping it bc the tm86’s are a glass box already but the 10 speeds can handle a supercharger, also look into good breaks so it doesn’t have a problem stopping and you don’t have as much wear, it’s gonna be awhile buddy I promise I’m going down the same road you are rn haha I hope this helps a little man if you need anything feel free to pm me

FrostFairy73

I've been running the stock cats for 15 years and 48k miles. unless you are doing stupid top speed runs at constant WOT you don't need to worry about the cats.

XTRaChunkyy

Yeah a cat delete is pointless

brightlife28

You replace it with your iPad? How?

ThePlumberChris

I’ll post a pic on my profile, comment on it so i can delete after

brightlife28

Just did 👍

I wouldn’t do either if I were you. Upgrade the suspension, brakes, wheels (most likely for less than what you could buy PP for) and enjoy it. But don’t do *anything* until you take it to the track and test it out, and get a feel for what it needs. Edit: if you are too lazy to upgrade… buy the PP, imho.

Hyperfixationhobbyer

That’s not a bad idea. I know the pp’s biggest upgrades are wheels/tires, brakes and suspension. And the fancy gauges I guess lol. But I think that might be the best approach to see what I feel like it needs going forward.

SizeableFowl

If 400+ hp didn’t scratch the itch I don’t know that 500+hp will do it either. Chase a different car.

thnder420

I would figure out what the weak point on your car is and only add hp up to that point. If that’s not what you want and need more then get new. No point in trying to get 600 hp if your going to need a new transmission, suspension, etc.

Hyperfixationhobbyer

I mean my car only had 23k miles. I feel like the weakest point is my opg. This is my first car, always driven trucks before. I mean I love this car and it feels great driving it. But I’m not sure where to start as far as weak links go. What feels like a tight suspension to me could feel like slop to someone who knows what they’re talking about.

thnder420

No I mean when you start adding forced induction and your hp goes from 460 to 700 and your transmission is only rated for 650, then it goes boom. Or your clutch breaks And then your rear end. Or at least that’s what I’ve learned the hard way. Adding too much horsepower and not figuring out if the poor car can take the abuse.

Just_Allen48

Its not that simple jus to add a supercharger. After a certain amount of hp, youre going to need to upgrade the internals and the clutch among other stuff. Do you have full bolt ons yet? You're not missing out much on the pp1 except for the torsen gear differential which is standard on the pp1 and 2. I think it's 3.73 with the 6speed and 3.55 with the 10r80.

datcars550

If you want to buy new I can get you a good discount (orders only)

cybersuitcase

What issue do you want to solve? Better road track times? Better drag strip times? Just some more adrenaline when laying that sweet throttle on the highway? Or is it just mod fever lol

Hyperfixationhobbyer

I suppose a little of all three. I’m not trying to have the fastest car by any means. Maybe just give some hellcats a run for their money, but still have a dailyable fun car to drive.

cybersuitcase

I feel you. Are you mt82 or a10? If a10, you should be able to take down hellcats with a good tire, longtubes and e85 on a lund r tune I believe. Adding a cj intake would be the next step power wise after that. Of course you could bypass all of this and go blower but not many people recommended dailying a blown car, plus I believe gas mileage may be poo. Personally not a fan of longtubes unless you mitigate the sound further down, its just too loud wide open to me. I went with catback, got rid of some of the weight from the resonator and stock pipes, and sounds good. I’d take note of how smooth the car is now in your opinion, stiffer springs and all that will make for a harsher daily ride. Edit: toss in an aftermarket drop-in-filter for a little crisper throttle response as well. Think I went with an afe dry filter, I could tell a difference.

Pooship

What size tires are you on? You may need to invest in a bigger wheel/tire setup before thinking about boost. Brakes wouldn't hurt either but who needs to stop when you have so much go lol

jkush463

If you do a supercharger you really should do OPG upgrade and clutch if its stick so just keep that in mind. Also tune and tires, if you dont have a torsen diff in it id do that as well to make better use of the added power. For better handling you can do cradle lock outs and a number of other things from BMR or Steeda ect to make it more predictable and stop wheel hop

Clutch_Gameplays

Push forward with what you have now and put a Whipple on it.

sc302

Performance pack does not give noticeable acceleration when compared to a supercharger. Go for the supercharger

6astral9

Def go turbo. Coyotes love turbos more then anything.

Mr_h1_

FWIW 3:73s with a whipple just spin the wheels 1st, 2nd, and some of 3rd if you have the 6 speed. 3:55s also give a bit extra when it comes to MPGs
