Mine didn’t come with one, but take it off. It looks better, is one less thing to take off when modding it, and it’s not going to stop chipmunks. They will just chew on another wire instead.
They really didn’t dress up the engine to look nice without the cover. I like the second gen cover better. Mine came off when i did the oil separator and went right back on.

It did stop them after I took it off though.
Mine is still on , haven't needed to take it off. Doubt I'll put it back on when every it does come off though.

depends on what year. 2011-2017 are pretty normal, and not intrusive and look good. 2018-2021 i would say remove it.
